if you've ever been on the internet like ever you will know that once you post something it can never truly be deleted yes someone somewhere has your cringy 2013 tumblr posts archived and they are waiting for the perfect opportunity to share them to destroy your career and any future plans you had of being respected in society it's the internet circle of life and sometimes teenage you makes the decision to upload a video that people share all over the place creating a viral museum of your awkward teen years for you to be trolled over for the rest of your life but sometimes people can come along and manage to play the internet at its own this is cringe digital footprint trolling game here's the story of tara and raven the acid bath princess of the darkness and how they managed to fool the internet [Music] so i'm raven your astrid princess of the darkness and i'm tara [Music] on the 8th of july 2008 a youtube channel was created called xx bloody x case xx and on the following day the channel uploaded its first video titled the black parade fan video by tara and raven in the video we are introduced to tara and raven the acid bath princess of the darkness who are the owners of the channel the pair begin the video by explaining that they are mad with their friend aza the mime of satan's bidding because they saw him shopping in hollister while they were in hot topic being you know garth and stuff tara and raven then go on to dance and sing along to the song welcome to the black parade by my chemical romance because as the lyrics of the song state their memory of gothirza will carry on after they decided to be in hollister which is for preps the performance has several highlights first when their mum walks in as they are screaming out the lyrics and then when raven complains about tara blocking some of her moves the jew will then share a departed message for aiza better luck next life yeah better luck next life azer before then signing off in the description of the video raven and tara explain that this isn't the first video that they recorded but they can't upload the other videos because aza was in them and aza's dad didn't want them on youtube but airs dad couldn't keep their spirits down for long because on the 31st of july 2008 the channel uploaded a video titled going under evanescence fanvid by tara and raven and aza in the description they explained that this was one of the videos they had recorded before their first upload that ez's dad wouldn't let them post but he doesn't care anymore in the video we are introduced to aza the mime of darkness who i presume must have gone on to do some dark act for the devil to then become the mime of satan's bidding which is their title from the first video that chronologically occurred after this one in the raven and tara cinematic universe the rtcu is very confusing anyways the trio danced along to the song going under by evanescence because tara had drill team tryouts that day but didn't make it onto the squad aza is incredibly quiet throughout the video and as you would probably expect from their gothic title mostly communicates like a mime would this is the only appearance of azer on their channel tara and raven uploaded several other videos between the year of 2008 and 2009 most of these follow in a similar format to their first video provide a brief life update before them performing lip syncing to a stereotypical emo slash goth song however on the new year of 2009 only five months after their channel's creation tara and raven uploaded to the channel what would go on to be their magnum opus which i think is latin for like really good or something [Applause] on the 2nd of january 2009 tara and raven uploaded a video titled a shout out from tara and raven in this video the pair are and i quote rocking out to mcr while celebrating the new year before a philosophical debate strikes up about the concept of new year's the new year which we don't really understand why people are making such a big deal about it because really one more year is one more year that everyone's closer to death the pair then go on to share a list of likes and dislikes which includes likes like edward cullen hot topic and of course being god dislikes jocks preps and haters and then they sign off crappy new year new years new tears i want what they have from raven interrupting tara to the emo backing track and even the invention of new words creativism this video had everything and really encapsulated who tara and raven were after this video they posted a couple more videos including a twilight new moon trailer reaction video before on the 17th of june 2009 they uploaded their final video our myspace where they announced their new myspace page over the years that the channel was active tara and raven's videos only gained a few thousand views however in 2012 tara and raven's videos began to gain some traction after people began to make a connection between the channel and the most notorious fanfiction of all time my immortal ugh the time has come i knew my channel would lead to as all things in this world do to fan fiction for those uninitiated my immortal is a fan fiction loosely and i mean loosely set in the harry potter world which was published between 2006 and 2007 on fanfiction.net the fan fiction has been heavily documented all over the internet thank you sarah zedd due to its abomination of a narrative and inability to stick to the basics of any human language at all the fan fiction follows the 17 year old hogwarts student ebony darkness dementia raven as she interacts with other harry potter characters who have all now been gothified in some way my favorite being harry's lightning scar now being a pentagram the protagonist ends up having a relationship with draco malfoy and the story finishes with her fighting voldemort satan that's a very basic overview of the fanfic and trust me there are much worse plot points that i haven't mentioned definitely worth the read my immortal went on to gain a cult following with people analyzing the thick in 14 000 word essays while others attempted to track down and uncover the monster that had wrought this abomination several people over the years have claimed to have written my immortal but many of these claims of authorship are heavily disputed and debunked and so the mystery remained alive and fans have continued their search the strange yet completely relatable fixation these fans had upon my immortal was not only because of its interesting plot but because of the arthur's notes which were used at the beginning of every chapter offers note stop flaming okay i didn't read all the books this is from the movie okay so it's not my fault if dumbledore swears and the reason snap doesn't like harry now is because he's christian and vampire is a satanist mcr rocks ebony isn't a mary sue okay she isn't perfect she's a satanist and she has problems she's depressed for god's sake you get the picture throughout many of these author's notes the author of maya martel thanks a friend for helping her with her spelling special fangs get it cause i'm gothic to my girlfriend who not in that way raven bloody tears 666 for helping me with the story and spelling you rock so to summarize the author has a friend called raven right and what was the account called that published the fanfic xx bloody 666 xxx oh but what's the author's real name tara gillespie see where i'm going with this as people became more and more obsessed with my immortal and discovering the identity of its author with the names tara and raven a similar username and a tryhard emo vibe the search for the author tara gillespie brought people to tara and raven's channel was this tara the tara gillespie was raven the acid bath princess of the darkness the literally challenged proof reader of the fanfic or was it all just one big coincidence there were lots of questions surrounding the whole tara and raven mystery which no one could answer well not until much later anyways but with the new connection to the increasingly popular my immortal fanfic more eyes than ever before were on tara and raven in 2012 when people began connecting the dots between the fanfic and the youtube channel tara and raven's channel began to gain popularity with the two most popular videos being the going under video with aza and the shout out new year video steadily over the years the videos continued to gain millions of views and have been shared over twitter and facebook where they also have gained millions of views the new year video specifically is always shared every year on twitter around new year's time and it never fails to go viral and back on youtube the youtuber daz games did a reaction video to the going under video in july of 2016 and his reaction was incredibly popular and went on to gain over 8 million views but as tara and raven's videos increased in views so did the hate comments ever since their very first video tara raven and even asa were subject to a lot of online hate on one side they were receiving hate comments from people who they would consider preps calling the trio cringe and hating on their emo interests and aesthetic and on the other side they were getting hate comments from people who considered themselves emo who also called them cringe and try hards these comments continued post june 2009 even with the lack of content uploaded to the channel but many many years later tara and raven would return but not in the way that you would expect on the 11th of june 2014 five years after their last video a new video was uploaded to the bloody kiss channel titled from 2008 bloody valentine fan vade by tara and raven this video was lost footage of tara and raven from their youtube era the channel went inactive for another two years before two more lost footage videos were uploaded in 2016 as well as a video that gave fans a brief update on what raven the acid bath princess of the darkness was doing eight years post her emo lip sync youtube journey the channel uploaded a 10 second video titled guess who's back the video was of a phone call shared between and now grown up raven and tara as they celebrated the comeback of the rock band good charlotte good charlotte is back oh my god the video went on to gain over 600 000 views and the main feelings in the comments were yay tara and raven are back omg i can't believe they are still golf and we need more content many people in the comments of the newer videos ask tara and raven to do an update video and others asked several questions in their attempt to solve the almost decade-old mystery that had surrounded this channel were tara and raven real were they actually emo and did they write that atrocious harry potter fan fiction however after posting the archived footage and the new brief insight into what a 2016 raved acid bath looked like the channel went back to being inactive and the mystery remained the internet began to lose all hope that it would ever figure out the enigmas that were tara and raven the acid bath princess of the darkness that was until january 2021 on the 2nd of january 2021 over 12 years since the creation of the bloody kiss channel a new video was uploaded titled update tara and raven where are they now it was raven back again and this time the acid bath princess herself had brought with her a shocking revelation the videos were fake every single one of them tara and raven were comedy characters i created when i was 17 in order to troll unsuspecting people on the internet raven goes on to say that since posting the videos the journey has been a wild ride and announced that she would be sharing some behind the scenes footage of the tara and raven videos over the weeks that followed that reveal video in the video raven also addressed the my immortal rumors we didn't write my immortal we didn't even know that my immortal was a thing until after our videos had been published and thus cleared up the age-old conspiracy theory which unfortunately meant that the maya mortals scooby-doo gang had a lot of searching still to do raven goes on in the video to update us about tara informing those who had attempted to find tara on social media that all of their leads were wrong because tara does not own any social media of any sorts and prefers to stay out of the limelight she also clarified tara and azer are still alive raven revealed that aza is now a musician and producer working under the name neutral wonder raven also said that asa uses they them pronouns exclusively and asks that viewers respect this going forward there was also a website ravinizapoza.com which raven told users to visit which at the time had merch like bff necklaces and a creativism journal but more importantly it had never before seen videos of tara and raven as well as behind the scenes exclusives these videos are now unavailable the site also included a frequently asked questions section where raven answered some cues about the old channel this included clarification that no raven was not the i will always love you girl which was also a pretty common theory at the time and that her and tara are sisters and still speak despite online rumors the site seems to have been removed now as when you go to ravenisaposa.com like the update video shows you are redirected to an old 2009 raven entire video titled a message to the haters which was them sitting in silence listening to ashley tisdale's cover of never gonna give you up we had been rick rolled raven the acid bath princess of the darkness had managed to troll us one last time the reveal video was met with many positive comments as many people told tara and raven how they were iconic and that they had caused their emo fears as well as many people commenting that they hadn't suspected that the characters were characters however raven's reveal video was not the first time a member of the bloody kiss channel had come out and revealed the real story behind the videos on the 7th of december 2020 a month prior to tara and raven's reveal the channel ask geisha sticker shop uploaded an interview with none other than aza the mime of darkness in the interview joe who played the role of azer discussed tara and raven's videos while giving a little behind-the-scenes information joe said that over the years they had received some comments and messages asking if they were aser but this was the first interview that they had done the interview goes on to discuss their music like their album vision which i recommend you check out and they say that they view their prior internet fame as asia as a positive experience but even ase's interview wasn't the unmasking of the trio as in 2014 raven and tara did an interview revealing that they were just characters to troll the internet but like the yes interview the article seemed to have flown under the radar so raven's reveal was a big shock to a lot of people following raven's big reveal on the original channel she did a series of interviews on both news sites and podcasts first we found out that raven the acid bath princess's real name was in fact i am sarah maybe raven the acid bath princess is her christened name anyways on the my chemical fan cast podcast sarah revealed that she had herself gone through a goth slash emo affairs between the ages of 12 and 14. yeah when i was like 12 through 14ish um i i was totally an emo but i didn't want a cop to be an emo because nobody wanted to be emo at the time right that's right right so i i insisted that i was goth in another interview sarah explains that while creating the videos she had secretly hoped they would lead to bigger things for her unfortunately sarah said that this didn't happen and the videos didn't really lead to anything which i think they totally should have like i'm talking nobel prizes for these two ladies petition link is below sort this out in these interviews she revealed the creative process behind the now infamous raven t-a-p-o-d was that she had just created a character that would have annoyed her younger self she also discussed the internet context surrounding 2007 which helped her develop the characters i think a lot of people forget that around 2007 or so you know emo kids mall goths people who liked twilight people who liked my chemical romance all of these subgroups were pretty much everyone's punchline and saw sarah with her past experience from her goth emo phase managed to formulate the perfect troll character that would get under people's skin in these interviews sarah also explained that both her and tara had received lots of hateful comments following the videos but not in the way that they had first expected you know people were telling us that we were fat we were ugly um they were they were telling us that you know we should go ourselves that you know we should get ourselves you know whatever and um that's a lot harder to separate you know those comments directed at a character from like those comments directed at you because i mean how could you not how could you not take that personally sarah also revealed that these comments were one of the reasons why the tara and raven videos stopped in these interviews when sarah discusses her reveal video she says that she felt pressured into doing this reveal in september 2020 a tick tock was created that linked raven the acid bath princess to sarah's instagram profile petra which is for her current line of work also just wanted to quickly say that the reason i'm being vague about sarah's current profession isn't because i'm against it but it's because i'm worried that the all-seeing red eye in the sky wouldn't like me using that word if you catch my drift then later in december 2020 another tick tock went viral connecting raven to petra causing her account to gain hundreds of new followers and for her to be tagged in raven and terror memes and so sarah was forced to reveal to the world that she was in fact raven the acid bath princess of the darkness and that the channel was in fact parody the mystery of tara and raven had been solved to this day tara and raven the acid buff princess of the darkness remain an iconic part of not only troll on meme history but the history of the entire internet itself with the videos still frequently being shared around keep an eye out this new year's for tara and raven's video to do its annual social media round because if you are following the correct people on twitter hint hint then you most definitely will see the iconic video following sarah's reveal video many people have shared their love and admiration for not only tara and raven from the channel but for the sisters who created them too and i hope although a small consolation for the mass of online abuse the pair have received that they both realize that the hilarious characters that they birthed
