THE FOUNDATION HACK THAT ACTUALLY WORKS | Nikol Johnson

hey ladies welcome back to my channel so today's video is all about the beauty trend that's going to be huge plus i'm including this crazy viral foundation hack that actually makes your foundation transfer resistant it's so perfect for women over 40. are you ready let's get this beauty started [Music] so i just prepped my skin with the quarterly this is a vino perfect brightening serum i put that on my skin first and then i put on the avene this is called tolerance control it is a soothing skin recovery cream it's really beautiful my skin's been very sensitive recently so i wanted to just put this on set it up for the makeup so we are ready to go into our monochrome look so that is the beauty trend that's about to be huge it's very elegant it's staying within one family what color family and we're going to take that through and it's not going to be boring so sometimes it can be like oh my gosh you're using all nude colors and it doesn't look that great or wow that doesn't really bring out any great features i'm going to show you how i'm going to really just bring this whole look together it's great for fall it's a great look for every day it's kind of like my go-to and then i've done some very bizarre things with my foundation i went down the tic toc rabbit hole recently and i watched way too many hacks and i found one that's great for mature skin because it makes your foundation transfer resistant so i thought wow it actually worked i was pretty impressed so we're going to go in first with our eye primer we're going to prime those eyes because i'm going to be using this beautiful tom ford palette and it's i don't want this discoloration to mix with my beautiful nude eye so i'm going to go in with my eye primer you know this is the first thing that i always do i always do eyes first why because why am i going to do a whole beautiful look and then have fallout especially with tom ford because you know his shadows like to go some other places beside your eyelid so would that make sense no it doesn't make any sense to have to clean up i'm not doing powder all over my face i don't like that so i do eyes first that makes sense to me as an artist if i was doing your face i do your eyes first and then i can clean up i can really hydrate if i need to add extra moisture before we do your skin it just it just is the way that i feel i get the best look the best skin the best payout for everything eye primer is on you can see now my eyes are ready set up for this beautiful palette we're going to be using tom ford number 26 nope 28. it is called de la creme so it is so beautiful look at this monochrome palette it is gorgeous so let's go in with the lightest color we're just going to set up the eye to be all neutral with this kind of buttery color i'm going to go in with this next color here it's very very pretty again i'm being very careful when i go to the eyeshadow with my brush i don't want to be too aggressive with it because i know that this likes to have some fallout i go and press it into my eye and it really gives you this really beautiful color payout so you don't need to work that hard but i don't think that it is a good idea to go in to your shadow when you're using a tom ford palette and go go crazy because you're going to see your shadow everywhere and it's not going to be a fun thing to do to clean up so i am putting this on the lid itself and then i'm going to use my magic blending brush that i love just smooths everything out i'm going to go in with a mixture of these two dark colors together to create a little a bit of this contour and the way i'm going to do that is i'm going to take my pointed brush here it's just a tapered contour brush and i'm going to just mix the two together because i'm going to get this gorgeous color at the end and i want to just place it because i'm going to go back with the blending brush and it's going to just really give me a beautiful look so i have the contour on i know it looks kind of crazy but it's fine i got to take out my blending brush i'm going to die when you see what i just did my blending brush is in our little hack that's coming up so here is the blending brush we're going to take it and sweep it across and literally this is like you have a professional makeup artist that comes in and finishes up your eyes it just blends it all out makes it look beautiful so you saw what it looked like before like whoa what happened and now we just blend it all out you have this beautiful soft very elegant very simple look and you don't look like you're wearing too much makeup sometimes if you feel that when you blend you're kind of losing that lid color you can just go back in with it and just add a little bit more so you feel like there may be even out again or if you want to not have so much of that contour color if it came down a little bit very easy fix i'm going to curl my lashes lashes are curled now i'm going to just because i want to have a little bit more of that definition the darkest color this dark chocolate my smudge brush i'm going to take a little bit of this color and i'm going to make this my eyeliner i don't really want to do an eyeliner today i just want to smudge up and that's the fastest and easiest way that i like to apply an eyeliner is i just do the same exact technique that i would do if i was using an eyeliner i'm just using it with shadow and you want to make sure your shadow is pigmented enough but i just go right to the base of my lashes and just squish it in and stay really really tight so you're getting that definition i'll just take a little bit of the remnants on the brush and go underneath the eye so it just kind of gives you that smoky really sexy look because you're using a nude palette you know you you're using these soft colors but you want to have just that extra so our lashes are up i'm going to go in with our l'oreal primer this is a lash primer the best thing to do to your lashes if you really want them to be separated you want to lengthen them maybe you're tired of seeing short stubby lashes and you're like you know what let's bring these babies out you're going to put on a primer we use the l'oreal here on the channel i have showed you lancome i didn't like the brush last video i used the chanel la base it was a sample the brush was beautiful it is an option if you want to or l'oreal is at the drugstore an easy pick up when you're there for other things and you're going to see how this gives your lashes that extra boost going in with my chanel this is my lenore this is the lay volume going right to the base and just gliding up on those gorgeous lashes that have the primer i mean it is little work i am not stressing i am not having to do too much i'm just going to the base slowly bringing up i mean this is like a no-brainer ladies if you want to do a maximum look with minimal effort you are going to do a lash primer and then you're going to do your gorgeous mascara mascara is on i mean this is like the highlight of my makeup tutorials now i just love what it looks like all right so we have our face is prepped with our just moisturizer really really just hydrating it's set up properly so now don't be afraid with a little hack i mean this is the most bizarre way of i don't know who sits around and does these things but we're here and we're going to do it i'm going to show it to you so i'm just going to be using the tinted moisturizer from nars this is the color sydney medium 1.2 nars sends me some of their colors when they do a new launch could be a little bit more warm for me it's fine we're just i'm just showing you the technique so i have a glass of water right here i just added some but i'm going to add a little bit more of my tinted moisturizer into the water don't add too much you're wasting it i'm going to take the end of my brush and i'm going to swirl it a little bit so it marinates but this is going to make it transfer resistant believe it or not like i was like that's not going to work it's just not going to work but i said you know what i'm up for it i'm up for trying anything so i'm going to take the base of my um wand here and i'm going to put it on my face the girls were like this feels illegal i'm like it feels amazing especially for perimenopausal skin you get this like burst of like beautiful hydration slash coolness on the face so i'm gonna take my foundation buffing brush and i'm going to buff it into my skin you can take a wet sponge also if you wanted to kind of work this into your skin and really see the magic happen it's like second skin ladies i just thought this was the most bizarre way of like putting it in water and then it's coming out is this really gonna work but when i was putting it on i was like wait a second my skin looks incredible whether you do a foundation buffing brush like we normally do and work it into the skin or you're using a sponge whatever medium you like to use it is incredible so you can see it's a little bit more warm we'll just go in like we normally buff our foundations our bb creams our tinted moisturizers into the skin and it is it sets up and it's like gorgeous i mean it feels so good too so maybe you have an event maybe you have you're going somewhere you're wearing something where you're like you know what cannot transfer this i'm going to show you on our white shadow cotton that it doesn't transfer and that it just looks like gorgeous flawless skin you can take for just the finishing touches around like brows or the nose with your sponge and i mean it is a little warmer i have to say i can see it's a little warm but beautiful foundation on the skin i am so impressed with this crazy hack just why this sets up i'm going to put maybe a tiny bit of my eye brightener which is called lighten up i'm going to take it right here and i'm going to just work that in and take my flat foundation brush and i'm going to just go right underneath my eyes i want to lighten this up it'll be a little icy compared to my foundation being more warm but you're going to get the idea of how this foundation goes on when it's been put into water and then we're going to do the little transfer test let's take a little cotton shadow that is brand new press it on the skin and there you have it you are not transferring your makeup very very impressed you see a tad but if i let it set up longer not on this video you wouldn't have any transfer plus i keep pressing on my skin and it's turning red and i'll have to like do a little touch-up but we're gonna just do a little t-zone with nikita banana my brightening powder so it's all coming together this is such a beautiful look for fall for every day doing that monotone or mono monochrome look monotone monochrome is just such an elegant very simple way to do your makeup going in with cameo this is my lip color so it's my favorite you can go with mac spice you can go in dwarf fig it's really really pretty to outline the lips i'm going to also do a little poutiness that i showed you in my lip hack that was like many videos ago but i'm going to just connect the cupid's bow so it gives me that extra little pouty look it's really kind of fun i'll just smooth out the liner you can use this liner also for your lipstick if you want to then put vitamin e on but a little champs if you want to or you can go in with figure it out or nick ray those are two great colors to complement this tom ford palette you can see figure it out it's going to be like a just a really nice nude or you're going to go in with nick ray which is more of my lip color then this is what's really nice too you can do a little hack of using your lipstick on your cheeks so nick gray is such a pretty color it's almost like our palm beach but i want to keep this monochrome look all in the same family so i'm going to just do that color on my cheek color is on my cheek taking the same and going to my lip one of my favorite lipsticks is actually our number one seller going just on the top with the little shops which is short for champagne it's like a little bubbly i'm gonna go just in the center of my lip then of course being in this whole monochrome look i'm going to take a tiny bit of bronzer from my classic beach face palette so beautiful because i have a matte bronzer i have a really pretty blush if i need it and i have a highlighter just going to go in with the bronzer taking my angled brush tapping it in and giving that really pretty definition just right here blending it into the knit gray lipstick as my blush and there you have just a very beautiful sophisticated look for fall this beauty trend is going to be huge this fall because it's just so elegant it's so simple it's so easy you can just use that whole color palette that's in the same tones throughout your whole makeup from your cheeks to your lips to your lip liner to your eyeshadows and then throw in a crazy weird
