[Music] in John chapter 2 we see the very first miracle of Jesus the first miracle it's a special story and as we dive in guys there are so many rich things for your heart there's so many insights there's so many angles to look at this from and so I know you're going to be blessed if you come just with an open hungry heart God's gonna fill it I know that so we dive right in verses 1 and 2 of John chapter 2 it says on the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee and the mother of Jesus was there now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding now let me give you a little bit of context of what's going on in the story and where Jesus is in the timeline of his life he has just recently been baptized by John down in the desert in the Jordan River he's just arrived back to his hometown in Nazareth and he's only gathered six of his twelve disciples so far in three-and-a-half years he'll be crucified he's in the infant stages of becoming a public figure and we see here that he and his disciples and Mary which would have been their whole family his brothers and sisters were invited to a wedding in Cana which was only five miles away from Nazareth they were neighboring villages everyone from these two villages would have known each other very well look at verses 3 & 4 and when they ran out of wine the mother of Jesus said to him they have no wine jesus said to her woman what does your concern have to do with me my hour has not yet come strange conversation at the surface of things but there's a lot going on here that I want to explain to you back in ancient Jewish culture when you are invited to a wedding you were expected to attend if you did not RSVP and attend it was a major deal and it would have been a black mark on you and your family it wasn't just a little thing weddings were highly prioritized in Jewish culture if you were invited you have to show up not only that but it was a seven-day event it was not a wedding day it was a wedding week so if you were invited it meant you could not work for a whole week which is a pretty big sacrifice and in that culture the wedding host was expected to put up their guests with a place to stay and supply all the food and all of the drinks so if I'm invited to your wedding and if if I'm not going to work for a week then I show up fully expecting to be provided for I am NOT going to have to pay a dime once I get into this village or neighborhood or city it was a really really big deal I mean Father's would literally spend years and years of years saving and setting aside money and wine for all of the guests who were going to attend their kids weddings and check this out Jewish rabbinic writing said you may never ever ever run out of wine at a wedding that you're hosting because for you to run out of wine for your guests was considered a huge insult in fact you could be legally fined by your guests if you ran out of wine at the wedding you are hosting for them so I want you to understand something there's a big chance of public humiliation and disgrace for this family that's attached to the whole story so you think about that and it's a lot different than how we roll in our culture of doing weddings and it's like okay Jewish people who live 2,000 years ago what the heck like what is up right why why was this such a big deal why would the religious leaders say you can find your guests if they run out of wine I mean why why was that such a big deal why was wine such a big deal to the Jewish mind well in the Old Testament wine was symbolic of God's joy now this was a culture that for the most part besides you're always going to have some bad eggs out there they did not abuse alcohol but wine was a huge part of their culture and wine was symbolic of God's joy and the Jews understood that God highly prioritized marriage I mean the first thing God did after he created the world was married two people the first two people that was the first thing he wanted to do and he writes a whole chapter about it because he wants to highlight it and what he's doing is he's saying the building block of this planet the building blocks and foundations of any government society or civilization or culture is traditional marriage between a man and a woman and the family units and he had Israel uphold and fly that banner and they upheld marriage more highly than any country of the ancient world it's interesting that the common denominator among all major world empires who have fallen the common thread between all of the fallen empires is that at some point in their history they started to not uphold and not value traditional marriage between men and women and they stopped treating children like a blessing and children instead were treated like an obstacle and the family unit deteriorated when that happens a country will fall apart at the seams Rome would be the easiest case study of that and so the building blocks to any government any civilization any city any town any neighborhood if families I mean I mean think about it when you think of like when people are having a good time and there's not a lot of trouble peeing cause no one's breaking the law you think of families getting together and the kids are out in the swimming pool or whatever they're doing you know and it's just it's a good time and this is what God wanted to happen wine was inserted into the wedding because God wanted to paint a picture that this thing called marriages is a blessing and it's supposed to be joyful so to run out of wine it was in a sense considered to be an insult towards God it was to misrepresent God it was to say well God's not really about this whole wedding here because the wine ran out so the constant supply of wine to their thinking was man God he really wants to bless this family in this couple that was their thinking meanwhile Mary the mother of Jesus has a whole lot of stuff going on in her heart she's the one who picks up on it and she goes to Jesus and she's like - a miracle and Jesus says to her what does your concern your personal concern have to do with me that's interesting what was Mary's real concern I mean what was going on in her heart that Jesus is talking about well thirty years have passed since Jesus was born recently he's left home to going to the desert to Caesar on the Baptist when he left he was all by himself now that he's come back there's six guys with him sleeping in her house Mary knows he's the Messiah she knows if he steps out and performs a miracle it can really really help her out wait a second help her out what does that mean well ever since Mary was pregnant with Jesus she had lived every day with public embarrassment and people talking smack about her behind her back how so let's just think about this think of think of if your daughter or your niece or your cousin showed up to your next family reunion pregnant saying I'm still a virgin though I promise you'd be looking at each other lag okay let's find some help for this curl or something Joseph was so distraught when she got pregnant he was going to break off his engagement with her until an angel showed up and spoke to him and told him what was happening so now not only is your cousin or your niece knocked up but now her fiancee starts saying to you trust me we never did anything I never touched her forever in your family that couple will be known as the strange ones and Mary carried around this stigma all her life in a religious culture where it was the cool and the popular thing to be the goody-goody sweet religious girl you can bet but wherever she went people talked hey there's that girl that got pregnant before marriage and said that she never has been intimate with a man when she was pregnant even the Pharisees tried to diss Jesus and his mom and talk smack to him about this in John chapter 8 verse 41 the Pharisee says to Jesus they said well we were not born of fornication that's a low blow I mean I bet this picked Jesus Oh in fact I know it ticked him off because in the same conversation he said well your dad is the devil it made him mad it made him you talk about my mom well your daddy's the devil how about that that's what he said to them so now Mary and the whole family is only five miles from home anyone and everyone who knows her is there Jesus I see what you're setting up here you got to show them what you can do show them who you are this is my day of vindication everyone will finally see I was telling the truth and I never did anything wrong Jesus don't you see this is the perfect chance for you to do something for me and to clear my reputation I mean she saw she Oh God I see what you're up to but in verse four he says woman what does your concern have to do with me my hour has not yet come notice Jesus does not respond to her by calling her mother but instead he calls her woman now this is not a degrading term it wasn't like woman it wasn't like that at all this in the Greek is a very respectful term it would be the equivalent in our English vocabulary as saying very tenderly ma'am ma'am he's being respectful but he doesn't call her mother because he's emphasizing to her look I have a different relationship with you Mary compared to every other son and their mamas and so he speaks to her in a way that well in a way that God would speak to her he's reminding her of who he really is by not calling her mother but by calling her my hour has not yet come what this is about is his father in heaven had a specific timetable set for him and he was very aware of it and he wasn't going to do anything that sped up or slowed down his father's schedule she wants him to perform the miracle publicly and outwardly but because this hour hadn't come he's gonna do it very privately seven times in John's Gospel he says my hour has not yet come but fast forward to the day before his crucifixion then he will say now my hour has come they're guys let me ask you a question was Mary eventually vindicated and cleared of all charges absolutely I mean we're here 2000 years later knowing Mary she was telling the truth right oh my gosh this woman what what what a humble soft heart for her to be chosen to carry the Son of God in her womb for 9 months I mean wow that's an amazing privilege that she had so in time yeah her name would be cleared and everyone would know the truth but not on this day not right now woman what does your concern have to do with me my hour has not yet come now he's not telling her that he's not going to do anything he's not telling her yeah I'm just gonna let this newlywed couple be publicly humiliated he's not saying that but an offense between him and her he's speaking to her heart and he's telling her trust me Mary you're gonna have to just trust me I need you to trust me right now she had this massive feeling of turmoil in her heart Jesus you could do something that I really really have been needing for you to do for me for 30 years now why wouldn't you do this for me today ever been there before of course you have and you'll be there again at different times in your walk with the Lord wrestling with God I want to remind you that he will work out everything for you that sometimes in the moment when your heart is broken and the tears that stream down your face or real it seems like stuff is happening to you but in the eternal scope of things because God knows your ends from your beginning it's not happening to you you will see when you get to heaven everything happened because it happened for you it happened for you to conform you more into the image of God and to get you closer to his heart he will work out everything for you he will not abandon the works of his hands just like he worked everything out for Mary it's just not going to be in your timing Jesus does answer Mary's prayer it's just not going to happen on this day it's not going to be in your timing and you're gonna have to trust him just as Mary had the opportunity to trust him you're gonna have to trust him even Mary his mom could not sway Jesus from doing things his own way and on his timetable and we will wrestle with God Mary's got a wrestling match going on with God and he's telling her you need to believe in me and you need to trust me and it's when those muscles of faith really are at the last couple of reps where it's really hard to get it up you know like when you're on bench press and it's those last couple where it be it's like okay I'm done I can just I can just put it up but you go those like extra two or three reps and you know it's those extra reps that that's the good stuff right there well in your face when it comes in your wrestling and you just want to throw it in man it's it's those extra few reps when you when you press into God and you press into the word and you believe even though it hurts you believe even though you don't understand you believe even when you can't see those wrestling matches when you choose to have faith that is what makes a man of God that is what makes a woman of God it's when you're wrestling and you choose to trust him anyways I think Mary understood he wasn't telling her that he was not going to perform this miracle that's why in verse five his mother said to the servants whatever he says to you do it you see she she still senses he's going to do something and you know what I found really interesting in this fifth verse is that chronologically these are the last recorded words of Mary in the entire Bible this is the last thing we ever hear her say we don't hear her speak again so what is the mother of Jesus final and very last words of wisdom for us whatever Jesus tells you to do do it amen whatever Jesus tells you to do do it now for her to tell the servants this was also a way for her to say Jesus I trust you she could have got all uptight and emotional and stormed out of the room I mean she could have got pretty upset with God at this moment and she doesn't she trusts in him and for her to say whatever Jesus says do you do it it was a way for her to say Jesus whatever you tell me I'm gonna do it and I'm going to trust it and I'm gonna trust in you even though I'm super bummed out right now because you told me that my concern has nothing to do with you right now I'm still gonna trust you that's a difficult place to be in for her you imagine he doesn't say anything uh that's just how he leaves it with her she walks away and with humility she trusts in her Lord let's read the rest of the story verses 6 through 10 now there were set there six waterpots of stone according to the manner of purification of the Jews containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece jesus said to them fill the waterpots with water and they filled them up to the brim and he said to them draw some out now and take it to the master of the feast and they took it when the master the feast had tasted the water that was made wine and did not know where it came from but the servants who had drawn the water knew the master of the feast called the bridegroom and he said to him every man at the beginning sets out the good wine and when the guests have well drunk then the inferior wine but you have kept the good wine until now I love this I love this story because it gives me another glimpse into what Jesus is really like have you ever tried to imagine what Jesus was like like if Jesus was handling a situation how would he go about it what would his tone of voice be I always try to imagine like what what does this look like when I read the story about him and you know everyone has a certain style about them whether it's dress or you think of basketball players there's a lot of great basketball players but each one has their unique style of how they play the game or here at church there's a lot of so many amazing servants here at this church but you give a goal to a lot of servants and they will each have a unique style on how they want to get it done and that individuality is is beautiful in the church when you look at Jesus and you consider his style you can't help but to be drawn to and to be attracted to what you see I love his style and so if you're taking notes this morning I want to give you four things four things about Jesus style and as I went through this it was encouraging for me because it just I don't know it just put kind of like a microscope on to him and it helped me to see him a little bit more clearly also because we're following our Lord insert yourself into these things and be encouraged be challenged to live the same way that your Lord lived for things everyone say number one the first thing about his style is that Jesus works quietly behind the scenes Mary wanted it to be this huge public miracle but in reality the miracle would take place quietly behind the scenes he wanted to bless people privately and it makes me think about we have a couple here at the church years ago and they they moved away out out of the country for work and they were the sweetest most brilliant couple and they didn't have any kids because she suffered from extreme endometriosis and she at this point had already had a couple stomach surgeries to remove part of her intestine and the cancer on a large portion of her intestine was just it was just taking over and they found a specialist one of the world's leading specialists to treat in Demetrios as' in another state and so they flew to a different state and he was going to perform another surgery on her and they had no support there because they they were foreigners so their family didn't live in the States and no one from the church was there because they flew to get to this destination and that's where they were all alone now when the surgeon came out of the operating room to speak to the husband several hours before the surgery was supposed to be complete it scared him to death like why are you coming to me so soon and the surgeon had two x-rays in his hand and he's like sir like here's before and you could very clearly see the cancer cells lined all over the intestine and he said when I opened her up there was nothing there there's no cancer there here's the x-ray I took after it's clay it's just gone God healed this woman and healed this family and who was there to enjoy was it on stage in a crowd of people or was it just this husband and his wife and the surgeon and that medical team astonished by what had happened what a beautiful thing I love what Charles Spurgeon wrote about this story he wrote when the water is to be turned into wine when he selects that as the first miracle he does not call for the master of the feast even or for the bridegroom himself or for any of the guests and begin to say you clearly perceived that your wine is all gone now I'm about to show you a great Marvel to turn water into wine no he does it quietly with the servants he makes no fuss or parade he uses water to of which they had abundance and works the miracle if I may so speak in the most commonplace and natural style and that is just the style of Jesus Christ now following his example when you seek to serve Him are you like him not caring if anyone sees you because a lot of times when we do something really special for someone else it's like hey I did it in it you guys see me right see what I did for this person not Jesus behind the scenes hardly anyone knew about it and so the next time you find yourself serving or working and no one else showed up to do it with you don't be bummed out don't get bitter whether it's here at church or in your home when you find yourself alone and you're going to be the source of blessing for everyone else and no one's going to recognize you for it no one's gonna pat you on the 'black back from it guess what God sees it and it's in those moments I believe you can be brought into a very special place of fellowship and intimacy with Jesus when you're serving all by yourself that's when you put in the headphones and throw on some worship because you're going to get down with God in his spirit because you're doing what he would do Jesus our author John told us if everything was ever that Jesus ever done was written in books there wouldn't be libraries around the world to anus we get just so little of what he did but this is how I see Jesus it's this it's like okay everyone's having movie night and the house is a mess and it was just like a big party and everyone goes to sleep and all of a sudden you wake up the next morning and everything's picked up cleaned up floor swept dishes done garbage taken out who in the world got up earlier than everyone else to do all this away I know who it was it was Jesus of course of course he did it do you see him that way that was him wherever he wins serving not caring if people thought people saw what I think people want to give you praise whatever but don't seek it and that is the style of Jesus to work quietly behind the scenes and I love him for that everyone is say point to Jesus hangs out with humble people now he'll minister to anyone but when he just wants to hang out it's gonna be with humble people God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble I love that at this wedding he's not like hey I'm gonna go sit up next to the bride and the groom or like choosing like someplace up close no where do we find Jesus he's in the back it out in the kitchen hanging out with the servants you know the ones that no one else wants to deal with the ones that no one cares who they're about the servants you know the ones that if you do a good job no one's going to celebrate you appreciate you if you do a bad job we're gonna let you know you're doing a bad job the servants of the wedding he's back there with them getting to know them I love that and you know what it was the servants at this wedding who had the most joy at this wedding because Jesus only let the servants in on what he was doing only the servants saw him they saw that they saw like them well he probably wasn't doing that with his hands but maybe they though he wasn't doing this probably either whatever he was doing with his hands they saw they saw water turned into one can you imagine if you just saw that miracle I mean the joy the real like God is here oh dang gods in the house are we you're gonna do it another water pot you're gonna do it again really pinch me like we're seeing a miracle I mean I bet they were freaking out like this is so cool and it's the same thing here at this church the ones who serve have the most joy because they are around more which means they're in on more of what God is doing in his kingdom especially you guys there's you guys are special people there's people that show up just because they want to please God just because they want to certain they'll have to do it they show up before first service and I'll see him here after third service here all day serving and you know what they have the most joy because whether they're here or out there or out by Calvary kids or the overflow with it whatever it may be because they're here they are in more on what God is doing they see the work of God all the time they get to mingle with this person they get to be in this prayer group they're able to meet the person who got saved last week and they've come back this week and they're sharing their story of what God's just done for them in the last week since they've got saved you see the servants who linger around the house of God they're just gonna have the most joy Jesus hangs out with humble people everyone say 0.3 that was kind of weak so give me a give me a boom Shakalaka good just waking you up making sure you there don't make me preach you guys come on number three Jesus always saves the best for last I love this one Jesus always saves the best for last in our story once the good wine was brought out the master of the feast said we're like usually people sent out their best wine first and they bring the old stuff out later you've saved the best for last now the best it doesn't mean that it had a higher alcohol content it means it was well made wine Jesus always saves the best for last that's his style please please do not exclude yourself from this principle because this could mean everything for you he saves the best for last think about it he starts out in the tiny fragile body of an infant but he ends in the first glorified eternal body he begins by sitting in a nasty banky dirty horse trough he finishes by fitting on top of God's throne in heaven no one finishes like Jesus Christ now we as humanity are very good at starting good but we are not so good at finishing well you know what I'm saying we are not strong finishers no one finishes no one closes and fills the deal like Jesus Christ at the beginning you might not even think he's doing anything like where's Jesus but you wait to the end of the ballgame done he's gonna wrap it up he's going to nail it because he nails it and drops the mic every time he saves the best for last believe my friends the best is still to come in your life the last is still to come for your heart if you believe that please say Amen you have to believe it because some people don't know this about Jesus because they don't believe this about Jesus but if you believe this that Jesus saves the best for last then they would endure then they persevere and they wouldn't bail out on him when trials and hardships come when you believe he saves the best for last it keeps you in a place where you walk by faith and not by sight you walk by faith even when you don't understand even when it hurts you praise him and you walk with Him and you stick with him Jesus saves the best for last everyone say point for Jesus just loves to have a great time with people don't forget this about him if there was a social gathering Jesus was like we're going guys Peter I don't care if you're tired we're going let's go be around people there's a party let's do it because Jesus is a party animal and no one laughs or smiles or parties like us the first thing we do and we get to heaven is we party when people get saved angels party God is a party animal God that's just who he is he's not some grumpy guy with a frown on his face he likes to have fun a week ago last Sunday a bunch of us got together and went to a Josh Turner concert and I'm not a big country music fan by any means but this dude has the most manliest voice on planet earth I promise you I mean this dude's voice is pretty awesome and so we all bought cowboy hats for the concert I never I've rode horses before it but I've never worn a cowboy hat so I got a black cowboy hat and I'm mobbed up into that place like Kenny Chesney at least I had high hopes for myself and it was fun man and we just had a good time we're all rolling in our cowboy boots at boots I had the plaid cowboy shirt on the only thing I didn't have was like a belt buckle that said cowboy up with like a bull rider on it or something I didn't have that after the country music we went and had some country food at the Sizzlin steer and then I was done with country by then I was done we got a we were in a limo we rented a limo for this thing so we're all in this limo and it all it had been all country music going to the concert there we went to the sizzling steer and on our last leg home it's like okay we got to be done with the country with the country music it's time for dance party USA and so we were like rocking that limo to to pop the whole way back to the place it was amazing like that limo was rocking like shakin I guarantee it was awesome it was a good time and yeah not only will I never wear my cowboy had to church but I will not show you my dance moves either it was fun Jesus was never the guy who bummed everyone else out from having a good time he wasn't that guy do you see him he's not that guy he does his first miracle at a wedding why because it represents God is pleasing to God but also because weddings are filled with laughter and hugging and music and they're fun if you don't have fun at a wedding then you're that guy okay because they're awesome it's awesome to celebrate people coming together at this particular wedding jeez was the source of the good time so his first miracle was not healing a leper or healing a blind man or walking on water it was to give great joy to people to a family that was about to be super humiliated and really bummed out and he came in to save the day because Jesus wants to bless humanity he said he's come to give abundant life that's what he wants to give he wants to bless you don't forget that he loves you and you have not earned his love you could never do something to make him want to love you more if you think you have a good spiritual week and because you read your Bible every day and set all your prayers then God's gonna answer your prayers you will get nothing from God it's when you know you can earn nothing but you say God based on your goodness and just because you love me in spite of me please give this to me then he's like okay now you get it it's based on grace and not your performance here you go I'm gonna bless you and for people who know God wants to bless them just because he's a loving God to those people who will receive His grace like that they receive grace only to receive more of His grace and more of His grace and you received more grace just to receive more grace so do you see who he is from these four points do you see him I love seeing him in this way he liked to have fun he wanted to be at social gatherings with people he's there hanging out with the servants he doesn't have to be with the big shots at the party he doesn't care about that I just love his style love the way he carried himself and the way he lived and I hope that paints a clearer just a little bit clearer of a picture of Jesus for your hearts let's read our last verse of the story verse 11 this beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee and manifested his glory and his disciples believed in him notice that it says this was a sign not only was this a miracle but it was a sign and there's a difference and you need to know the difference a sign is something that points to something else that's more significant yes it was a miracle but it was a sign he performs a sign that's meant to point us to something else I mean think about it Jesus has been waiting 30 years to perform a miracle do you think his first one has no point or do you think his first one is just going to be random or would his first miracle meant to be a sign to point us to the entirety of the work that he was going to accomplish when all was said and done of course it does think about it Jesus turned one substance into a completely different substance and he used empty clay vessels which is a picture of our hearts we are as second Corinthians 4 says jars of clay now in our text it says that these jars of clay were connected to the Jewish purification system which means these empty jars of clay were connected to the law to religion and what did religion do it left them empty and dry and crusty because that's what religion does and he fills these empty vessels with water and turns the water into wine just like he turns dirty filthy unhappy sinners into joyful clean Saints I also love this picture that what came in was water but what came out was wine what comes in is water but what should come out is wine how does that speak to your hearts water of course is symbolic of the holy spirit wine is symbolic of God's joy Jesus did say I am the vine I am the source of all godly fruit and love and fellowship and joy and so when the Holy Spirit comes in when we take the time to prioritize a relationship with God I'm not talking about being saved I'm talking to you our fellowship with God because there's a lot of people who are saved but have no fellowship there's a lot of people who are going to get to heaven but they don't have a vibrant life with God and we probably all been there before I have when you read and pray and prioritize God when you let the Holy Spirit in when it comes in there will be transformation and what will come out will be God's joy the Holy Spirit's got to come in you and I need continual transformation I know I do I need to be transformed further I need the spirit in and as the Spirit comes in the joy will come out friends I s per Utley want to be a man of joy I'm desperate for it I'm very desperate for it because happiness is based on temporal circumstances and any human being on the planet can have some happiness but only people in fellowship with God can have joy you see an untruthful depressed person can have a couple hours of their day maybe with their friends or something where they're happy they're happy they have happy thoughts a happy mood but by the end of the day when they lay their heads on their pillow they are unjoin on circumstance joy is something that you can have despite the pain despite the horror despite the tragedy despite the hand you've been down despite the bad news you've heard despite what they've said about you or done to you or whatever is going on you can rise above it if you have something in you that's greater than what's happening around you that is joy and I'm desperate for joy desperate for it I want to be a man of joy that no matter what this world does to me no matter what I endure no matter what I go through I can still be a man that can wipe the tears off of my cheek and say God you're with me and you're good to me and that kind of joy is only produced when you have fellowship with the Father and His Son Jesus Christ and you're being continually refilled with the Spirit of God don't forget he wants to bless you he wants to give you abundantly amen as we transition into worship let's read our last verse again verse 11 this beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee and manifested his glory and notice the last statement it said and his disciples believed in him his disciples believed in him it's a continual kind of belief it's a furtherance of belief they already believed in him they followed him but now they're continuing their belief in him and that's what I believe God calls us to today do you know what one of my most favorite things in life is like like a special moment for me is when I hear I when I get to sit and hear someone else preach the gospel because I get to receive the gospel all over again do you do that when I share the gospel and give an invitation you know the invitation is not just for people who need to get safe for the first time but the gospel is something we always need to be receiving all I love I love when that part comes because yes I'm praying for people that might get saved the first time but for me I get to reprocess it all I get to confess my sins again I get to lay my heart before him again I get to ponder the cross and what it means to me again I get to picture him coming up bursting out of that tomb again do you guys do that when I share the gospel we're like not that you need to get born again again but you just you get brought in further into the gospel because the gospel is a seed the Bible says and the seed of the gospel has been planted in our hearts but this is what you need to know about the gospel seed it's not a native seed it's an exotic this seed does not grow naturally in the hard rock hard soil of our hearts it is a seed that is otherworldly it is from heaven and if it was planted by heaven then it must be nurtured by heaven it must be watered by heaven and it must be fertilized by heaven you see I'm a baby in the gospel I believe I think there's so much more for me to explore and discover and just to receive about the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ I believe it's the most monumental enormous event in eternity ever and there's so much to it that even though I know it and I've received it and I preached it and I've dedicated my life to just want people to know Jesus and his message still there's a depth then I believe I can grow into there's a height that I have not yet explored the sea begins to grow roofs and I know the roots within me need to go deeper and I know this little tinder plant that has sprouted needs to mature and it needs to be a grown-up you know inside of me that the leaves can can split in branch wider so as I share the gospel I am sharing this to you if you need Jesus Christ today receive him good news for you you're getting saved today you're gonna go to heaven and you're gonna be a short of it but for the rest of you the majority of you who know Jesus and you know his love be excited you get to receive him all over again and it's in moments like these that men special things the potential for special things that God could do are huge a new insight God could speak to you maybe today for some of you you might be sitting on your couch in a couple hours talking to people saying you know what I have never felt God as intensely as I did a couple hours ago you might still be blown away the potential of when you receive the gospel all over again the miracles God could do in your heart in your life and your family are enormous God doesn't expect much from us but to receive and that easy it's like just open up your hands and take what he's got that that's all he really expects from us so let's do that [Music] you
