Hi there, my name is Shirley Choi. I work as  an assistant at the Historical Medical Library   and I am here today to show you a few objects from  the Samuel X. Radbill Collection. Dr. Samuel X.   Radbill was a renowned pediatric historian and  accomplished bibliographer, who spent his entire   career in Philadelphia as a neighborhood  pediatrician with admitting privileges at   Children's Hospital. The Samuel X. Radbill Papers  evidence Radbill's deep and unrelenting interest   in history and medicine, particularly the history  of pediatrics and dermatology, folklore, ancient   medicine, medical art, and medical book plates.  A feature of Radbill's international collections   include the Shoni Hitsuyo-ki series. It was  Japan's first series on child care and rearing,   written by Edo pediatrician Gyuuzan  Katsuki, who also went by Kagetsu or Keieki.   Aside from general child care, it described  treatments of children's diseases. My favorite bits of these  books are the little wormholes   because it was written and drawn on rice paper.
