cameras inside of his apartment I pray to God it was actively recording at the time that this occurred we didn't find this wallet inside I need to pull his financials I need to find out about his use of that app jacked but I've got a missing Nissan and the most important first step I should take is to determine where it is because it ain't here so that's where we go from here okay whoever this is man they got about a 24-hour head start on us all right CDX leon becker finds the license plate number for David's Nissan the 41 42 I've got a 78 of the victim's vehicle and he puts out a bolo for the missing car she'll be a 2015 Nissan Altima white and color wanted and referenced to this homicide no police reports or traffic stops I am checking to see if it has appeared on any license plate reader cameras hmm it doesn't look like there's any recent images Leon Packer calls David's cable company hey I'm detective Kevin Leon Packer with the Atlanta Police Homicide Unit a Comcast customer that has the Comcast alarm system and video surveillance system in his home was found murdered in his home just a few hours ago we've got a killer on the loose and it is a public safety emergency you want to the family says they were just notified by the medical examiner okay David had been shot and so we know that we definitely met with foul play we did not find a gun inside the apartment did David own a Comcast got back to me turns out his cameras weren't recording nothing during the time period I requested all right it was his body was discovered on 821 she gave us from the 17th through the 20th David's debit and credit card records coming in it what time was that zero 4:15 that's right after I got off work his last purchase was early morning the day he went missing he used his debit card at Waffle House at 4:15 a.m. that's the last financial transaction he made I'd go out there and see if we can find some video surveillance landing to meet someone as soon as he got off work and then when he got off he went to the Waffle House met up with a guy brought him back home with him I hope the video was working at the Waffle House whoever went home with David is going to be with them at the Waffle House this could be huge for the case all right Thanks [Music] the whole surveillance system is frozen [Music] that gets so freakin fed up so close yet so far away the best lead is the car follow up from Jack and there's a cigarette butt but that's gonna take what six months a year before they come back and say we ran DNA but other than that I mean I can go out and knock on some doors put together some Crime Stoppers fliers and just hand them out just knock down those pins as they're set up I'm handling the case involving your neighbor okay you familiar with that incident right service learned his white Nissan is missing but have no solid leads on a suspect I just got the 9 1 1 calls bathroom communications 9-1-1 received a call about a suspicious car losing floor good for michael white be phone number makes you think there's been a car you go they don't have a job they don't have much i think that they know got out of that car efficiently for us our communication section was able to find a phone number she was calling from oh hello I'm detective Kevin Leon Packer I'm with the Atlanta Police Department over I'm calling about that white car car was involved in a crime a pretty serious crime I need more than anything in the world to identify who had that car do you have any idea who the person or people were that got out of you okay how old do you think your convictions for burglary and an active warrant for another burglary in Georgia this could be him I gotta get this identification mate this might be the break that I've been waiting for and that with the tipster they immediately identified him we know that your Markus is already wanted for some other crimes so I'm gonna make sure that the fugitive squad is aware of those outstanding warrants once they pick him up I'm gonna make sure that I'm the guy that they called I'm gonna ask him why he had my victim's car one week into the investigation as I was driving in this morning I got an email saying that I finally got my results back in jacked so I'm really excited to be able to see if jack has any information about any communication a my victim had with anybody yeah I do want to know is any names it's not anything close to Jamarcus Woodall mmm looks like there's no messages with anyone named Jamarcus and it doesn't really look like he had any communication with anyone in Atlanta the night that he was killed it looks like we're gonna have to track down Jamarcus 12 days into the search the fugitive squad gets a tip about a location where Jamarcus may be stayin standby there Jamarcus surrenders they picked up to Marcus Woodall he was over on the same place where the victim's car was recovered [Music] Marcus would all I look at his picture yeah this must be when he was in heard of the term party to the crime of murder or felony murder to be the wheelman to be in someone's car you don't even have to be the one who pulled the trigger you and I mean you understand that right Vinny you if this is the truth then separate yourself from it because it makes you look like you're an accomplice a person would have told me when they'd be in for that car when I never touch is definitely holding back on some information regarding the victim's car I think that if he didn't do it and he definitely knows the story about who did and what happened inside that apartment [Music] six weeks into the case the GBI the state crime lab may have run the fingerprints that they recovered from the door handle so that the door releases on the victim's car and Jamarcus his fingerprints were found on the driver's door handle it's time to go have a second run at Jamarcus as Leon Packer prepares to re-interview Jamarcus detective Calvin Thomas has a possible lead he's definitely matching the description as far as his hair a suspect in an unrelated robbery matches the man described by Jamarcus who gave me a car yeah no single please your victim was robbed stripped nude in his car was dope and educaton was nude murdered in his home and his car was stolen it's a window of suspicion deandre her 30 year old DeAndre Hurd is already in custody facing charges of armed robbery aggravated assault in possession of a deadly weapon Jamarcus reason I brought you down here is all I want to do is get to the dude they gave you the keys to the car so I can ask him what are you doing with a murdered man's car not only does a witness put you there but your prints are on the driver's door handle of the car I'm going to show you a set of photographs if you can have that have I've got to get that DNA back from that cigarette one year since David's murder I'm finally getting back some DNA results that lead to the identification of someone it feels really good let's do this guests time Macklin hey I just want to hang out see how you close this up Leandre what I can tell you is that only one person's DNA appeared not only on that cigarette butt is your DNA hold on it
