okay welcome to antioch california i'm absolutely inhaling these highway fumes and i'm about to set the world record for the fastest time traveling on all of bart that includes whatever the heck this stupid thing is as well as the oakland air connector and of course all the heavy rail normal bark stuff this was previously done in 2012 uh the person got a record of five hours and 37 minutes but that was before a few extensions open so we're doing it again basically no matter how poorly we do we still get the world record but you should keep watching because who knows what'll happen everything's running every 30 minutes uh because they haven't increased service levels yet but i'm here so i have to ride it today so hopefully all my transfers work out okay so this is called ebart but they call it that like originally and now they don't call it that anymore i don't really know but it's basically a diesel extension of the yellow line yes i'm going to call them by their colors because that's what they look like bay area people i'm sorry and this goes two additional stops from the end of the heavy rail bar trains our time starts when the doors close so that's what we're waiting for okay oh come on okay okay well that was annoying so we have of course the official miles in transit stopwatch but just as collateral we also have the unofficial miles in transit work phone stopwatch application just in case okay this is the pittsburgh bay point transfer platform which can only be accessed by queen you can't get on or off by any other means we now get on regular bar um we're taking this all the way to sfo so i think we are on this for about an hour and a half we are speeding by that traffic my first tunnel the first of many times my ears will bleed yellow line is long it's taking us uh almost 49 minutes to get to the bit where it uh intersects with other mines we've stopped in a tunnel somewhere just south of 12th street open something's ahead of us hopefully hopefully it's not our problem sfo is actually where i have one of the longest layovers a whole 10 minutes um so slight delays won't harm the plan too much an hour in and we still haven't made to san francisco a lot of this record is just sitting on the train going for a very long distance just because bart is so spinely spindly i don't know spindly time ears are just bleeding out the water made to san francisco and survived the jackhammer loudness of the tube now that we're in san francisco we actually made pretty quick stops it sounds like a real subway system because honestly bart is like a mediocre subway system but a very good commuter rail system and uh this is the one bit where it actually feels like a subway all these stations have been so dark like can you even tell we're at a station right now i feel like there's a really nice view on that side oh wow yeah i think we don't have to send the other side we're leaving daley city which is where the blue and green lines terminate but since we're yellow line we just keep going to sfo um i must confess that at one point in my life i thought it was pronounced dally city it's a little embarrassing by the way i know these cars are quite loud but these seats are super comfortable for god's sake san bruno this is now where the uh had a weird thing where they built it like a big triangle so the yellow line goes from sam granoda sfo then the red line goes from san bruno to millbrae then they run a shuttle from sfo to millbrae and they've changed how that works so many times throughout the years but uh that's what it's like now [Music] sfo they have these i don't really know i guess these are to prevent people from getting off not at a door but it they're getting on not a door but it doesn't seem and you can go there i don't know so now i have to get that shuttle i gotta say this is a nice station it's right at the airport all right our train the millbrae has arrived this platform doesn't have the uh the nice ticker tape that this one does this will be a very quick ride this just goes one stop to middle gray then we get on the red line and take that off to richmond all right for possibly the only time on the trip although hopefully happens more than this time we have a car to ourselves i really doubt this shuttle gets a ton of ridership but it does sort of you know fill the gap in service between the airport and millbrae it's just funny that a whole 10 car train is dedicated to this although i will say this pdf schedule suggests that it uh interlines with the red line i don't know we'll find out there are a lot of people waiting here so i think this just becomes the red line and then continues up to uh to who's he to richmond hey justin hey uh justin you've joined me from uh millbrae to like saying berryessa north san jose daily city line is just too long it's too much of a mouthful justin what do you think about clark's tunnel sections i i think you just need to learn to like follow and adjust to the air pressure at the right time okay and just get you're chasing headphones you just have to that's that's the mark of a good transit system when you have to have strategies to prevent your ears from bleeding like mine yeah so we're leaving powell you are leaving me at the next uh embargoed arrow yeah i'm sorry i'm sorry why are you making me go through the transmission you police come on and check tickets um they just kick someone off not having an affair it looks like they're having kind of an altercation in the next car this is a a long check we've been here for like five minutes i just it is pretty ruthless um i don't know is it worth it to hold the train just to get a few extra dollars and bears i don't know i'm finally leaving that's a five minute stop again why is it worth delaying the train oh my god stay tuned goodbye san francisco we won't be back today all right almost three hours in and we are at macarthur beautifully out of focus there we go um so this is where we head in the entire territory again i'm gonna branch off here and head up to richmond had a few subway stations in a row in berkeley i'm sure it's better for the streets above and that's great but i miss the views and the tunnels are kind of loud these ones aren't quite as bad but maybe i'm just getting used to it maybe i'm learning justin's techniques swallow at the right times all right we're stopped a little bit before the last stop richmond uh this is a little bit worrying because i have a five-minute connection with a southbound orange line train towards berryessa this half-hour schedule really doesn't bode well for if things go wrong which it might be doing right now wait the announcement was fake but i think he just said there's someone lying down on the track we're moving i have a two-minute connection possibly less at richmond and we're stopped again i don't know i don't know all right there it is please don't close the doors [Music] oh come on we're going to sprint [Music] excuse me sorry are you running for that train yeah oh i am too open the door yeah no problem okay all right majesty one time all right doors is closed it was an amtrak we're off that was a tight connection we're still on track that was supposed to be 10 minutes so it's you know a little over three hours or a lot a little a lot over three hours um this is our fourth train like we have not done that much i don't know that double decker um and it's another old train i'm really hoping a new one soon it just occurred to me that uh at coliseum the airport thing is at the front of the train so so we'll head through the downtown oakland stations once more and then out to the east bay for um uh entire territory i mean we're still on the east bay but further south down the east bay next office coliseum you're gonna get the oakland rail connector baseline all right oakland international airport there's the station there's coliseum okay so here we have instructions for how to take bart to open international airport step one exit training park hall team station platform call stands to open the national airport oh take a look at the rest of the platforms return right proceed far fair gates step two use party to get through fairgate sports all trying to open the national airport step three allow a riving shell train to empty and more carefully luggage not block doors difficult will take about eight minutes step four foul stops opening their national airport exit complete with luggage seat downstairs as clear validator cross street safely at the crossbar terminal once to your right and channel tweezers to your left wouldn't it be easier just to say take the train to the airport and get there thank goodness 10.95 there oh wow what fun awaits us on this thing this looks fun all right well we've got a front row seat it's automated so attention bar drivers in terms of health workers now require people to wear face coverings your mouth and nose must be covered with material dry thank you so i believe this or somewhere around here anyway um is proposed to be an infill station in the future and they just announced the train's actually going to make us stop so in terms of travel time really no reason not to make it infill station i mean why not you've got stuff here everyone always talks about how oh like san francisco the table cars well this is my favorite cable car it's in oakland talking to the airport i'm filming way more on this ride than i have on any other ride this is just so much fun over an international career and now we head back [Music] i don't know how seriously bart takes its donate on the trains uh rule so to pass the time and satiate my hunger i'm gonna have a little snyder's old much monstery i swear snyders i i would be great really looks like our streak of only getting old trains continues whoa part of myself no way all the way to berryessa this is a long long ride oh i'm here for this fantastic honestly not much report on this section of line it's just ground level industrial slash residential scenery so this is warm springs south fremont showing three different signs um and after this is the newest part of the system from here about a year ago have i mentioned yet how fast guard is i think it averaged around 70 miles an hour we're not average but it can it goes up to 70 miles an hour here's berryessa another old train oh this is the second and last one so fingers crossed for the blue line i guess all right 55 minutes after leaving coliseum we finally made it to berryessa we're almost done now we're going to just head up from berryessa to bayfair we have a one minute transfer they say bayfair is a transfer station so hopefully that means the times you know that specifies times this is not so one minute i could end the run right here at the very end we'll see but one minute from there to the blue line three final stops and dublin is where we end level three we're supposed to let the 1202 kind of need this transfer to work leaving a minute late for a minute long transfer we'll see maybe the blue line will be late [Music] one last beer bleed for old time's sake bay fares the transfer point watching this is just the most stressful thing ever staying steady i just i think they're both both trains are getting slightly more late i just wish that we could make up some time and that blue line could slip a tiny bit please my heart's just thumping because if we miss this blue line train it's a half hour away that's it heyward second last stop before okay i will say look at the app you missed it but our train switched to three minutes a split second before the blue line switched to three minutes if that's any consolation ball i'm saying there's a chance come on we got this come on the set of platforms just to run across there oh my god it's coming in oh please please please please wait please wait please wait please wait please wait please come on come on come on come on please please please please come on come on come on come on yes okay we did it almost there it's been uh almost six hours so we're not gonna oh you can't see us but we're not gonna crack six hours but we'll do pretty close i've never seen horses from a subway train before this is out there this is really scenic all right last station it's been six hours nine minutes and 40 seconds will we will we crack six hours 10 minutes when i step out i stop the clock six hours nine minutes and 51 seconds we've just written all of what i've [Music] it's been a fantastic day i'm so happy that i got a good time and got to meet some amazing people plus i finally got a new train which means that my ears
