Roblox has been around for about 15 years now and in that time hundreds of thousands of games have been released we'll still see much success with player counts barely reaching 100 but some become super popular the thing is sometimes it doesn't stay that way imagine owning the largest Roblox game ranking millions of dollars and billions of visit only to lose it all that's right today we're reacting to the fall of some of the biggest Roblox games uploaded by cubing who actually does amazing videos without further Ado let's see what he has to say sadly this happens to many many beloved games and for reasons you might not expect so to find out why this happens and how to prevent it we need to dive into the stories of Fallen Roblox games oh okay let's do it take me on a journey Oh no you're going to start right off with one of the worst ones of all time Meep City Meep City actually started off as one of the most popular games ever including being one of the first games to ever reach a billion visits and this journey actually starts off in 2016 wait a minute you may be wondering how a game V playe blew up in 2016 a Time games like this okay jailbreak great game love it and start a family wow what other game does that sound like there it is 465,000 players Meep City walks so that Brook Haven could fly and then Meep city fell flat on its face let's find out why he added mini games to keep players playing like Puzzles races fishing you name it so basically it was a Roblox platform full of games within a Roblox platform full of games the game was a nice way to have a break from your TR amazing that looks oh my God oh my God old DanTDM officially a year old most of Alex's games would die by the end okay but Meep City's endless gameplay made it stand out prevent players from losing interest theep added one important feature oh parties invite your friends to your house oh my gosh have a fun time with them so I actually joined the Roblox community in 2017 and first started playing Roblox in that time and I knew immediately about meep City and how popular it was especially since there were so many updates I believe if I remember correctly Meep city was also the first Roblox game that actually allowed a 100 players in their server at one time the updates some themselves weren't the craziest the main thing carrying the game was parties oh God city became more player driven and infinite which made it the first game to reach a billion yep it was the first game ever to reach a billion visits that's how big it was and of course his fans were proud the online dater Overlord what are you sure incred oh no time for an investigation a game V innocent couldn't possibly get this much hate but aren't parties the reason why the game is so popular what the oh God okay yeah it's time we find out the reason oh no why did I open that yes parties were crucial for the game success but at the same time made the game very unsafe for children it really did y see this is what happens when you leave the Roblox players to make a game what you want it it just got to ruin everything basically they found out that Meep City's private party system allowed them to bypass a lot of different moderation tactics and stuff like that and he got kids in servers with people that could do some really questionable things and say really questionable stuff it's kind of like how if you have a Discord server and you get some other person they're like hey come to my Discord server and then they're either trying to hack you they're trying to solicit information from you this was basically the beginning of that so what do you expect when a game has zero rules and it's completely controlled by players despite this red flag Alex continued to grow his game bro looks like an O deer as the numbers Rose so oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh hope something is done about this otherwise who knows what'll happen nothing oh it's a Barren Wasteland see this is what happens when you let OD deers come in your game and take over it turns it into a ghost town uhoh due to the insane back expers had a motivation to attack the game made it more unsafe for children I wait I honestly respect this guy for ruining Meep City and scaring the oders they were rooting for the hacker Alex had two options okay you can either remove party do it do it do it that one that one farming more children no don't do it don't do it don't do it Alex yo somebody needs to put this dude's face on a wanted poster although he can't control what players do his ignorance of the game's rules and features certainly played a part leading to one final blow yes that was a very uncommon Roblox win Alex was confined to one last option go back to a go back to a although it wasn't ideal for performance it was right thing to do the game still has these kinds of people I guess the damage was already done nowadays the game has about 5,000 players but it probably would have had more had Alex originally chose the right thing to do sure he'd take a hit little bit right off the bat but he probably would still have the respect of the community this kids is what happens when you get greedy in fact let's talk about the greed now shall we it's time to move on to phase three wow three times did this massive game three times even Meep City still upd Our Story begins when 17-year-old Preston had a goal a goal to make as much money as possible from a Roblox game I mean honestly that how many people's goals is that these days he spent money on a new game at Sim to collect money with your pets and use that money to get even better pets and zones to earn more monthy the game immediately took off thanks to how colorful and gry it was basically hasn't changed in 6 years the graphics have gotten a lot better though plus one for that spend thousands of dollars and I actually remember this moment because even though I hated simulators at the time and refused to play them I remember when this game came out specifically because of Russo and it was this video right here that I was like what is going on because he spent 40,000 Robo in this game buying one game pass and I know nowadays that sounds really dumb considering how many people spend hundreds of thousands of Roblox on this game every single update but back then that was the first it was so crazy in fact I was like what how do you ever even get that much robox this video right here burst the crazy pay to win oh man that's a lot wow yeah it Preston got tired of making the same updates over and over so to fix this he made the same updates again joken right surely it has to do good oh my gosh may be wondering how a sequel to a massive Roblox game failed I mean the game is also colorful and grindy so how could this even happen it was a lot better looking and it was more free to play which is what the players actually cared about well compared to the previous game Pim 2 barely had any zones to grind for this caused players to not only get bored but also mad cuz by paying Robux you can access the next update that's the problem that was the problem right there Preston finally realized that the game was not making money without actually having the Pay to Win features so we started adding pay to win features it was only like a tempor like when you bought VIP you only got it for 2 weeks which was kind of unfair but the biggest problem was broken promises after months of hype Preston abandoned the game after four updates mainly because of how hard it was to make something this perfect you can't make promises you can't deliver on with the fall of petum 1 and 2 it's time for Preston to retire the pet in brass yeah right oh my gosh look at they fall T so what was that about me retiring there it is Preston adapted and learn from his mistakes for many months he carefully crafted a new game wait learn from his mistakes and his to-do list was to make a fair game yeah tell that's all the freeo play players deliver on promises I seem to remember a particularly interesting update with the Lucky Block World update where in that update they said for the past 7 months we've been updating every single week we are now going to bi-weekly updates with the new schedule it'll have more time to catch up and not be rushed then he did 1 2 3 4 five updates in said it didn't eat a pet it yeed a pet Simulator X that's what that did but we're getting ahead of ourselves let's go back to the beginning he carefully crafted a new game Pet Sim x a combination of pet Sim 1 and two way more zones that's during oh yeah is better the second one of the best game on Roblox had all the ideas ready to go but to actually turn them into updates the team had an interesting strategy rather than stressing on making each World perfect he made each Zone smaller which allowed to make more of them in total when it comes to Roblox games players don't expect Perfection they just want to plain fun yep Y and I will say this until the end of time Roblox game success depend on how often they update it doesn't matter if they're huge updates or tiny updates it has to update it's no secret that pet Simulator X saw its best player counts when the game was updating regularly the moment it stopped the game sort of just died I remember right here at this date October 14th 2022 I was about three videos away from stopping playing pet simulator ever again and when I had one video left to record with me giving away all of my pets they made this announcement here with the release of cator saying that pet Simulator X is now getting weekly updates starting this week pet simulator jumped back up in popularity again and became one of the most popular games sometimes reaching 1.5 million players that is until they stopped updating it again and then the game died again every week he added better and better pets each getting more difficult to grind for the occasional Easter eggs which always got players talking cheers to the start of an incredible journey but in the midst of all this there's still one question that hasn't been answered instead of wasting time on a whole new game why not simply change the old one well here's the [Music] hint by making a new game he had a reason to build more hype which means more money what happens when a money hungry owner has a growing Ro game more money more more producing pet Sim X nfts time to get the game deleted I guess you either die or her or overself to become a villain the game sort of promotes gambling it does it promotes a lot of gambling between that and the scammers they're going to ruin the game of robu for a slim chance of getting an OP pet yep that is true only to disappointed this drained thousands of dollars from kids it's funny bro said thousands bro I'm in the millions okay why should I spend my time and money on a game that'll likely be abandoned sure games like Blox fruits and murder mystery have gone months without updates and Fe still love them but that's because those games have no end goal making them last forever but in pet Sim once you grind all the way to the final Zone you had nothing to do you have absolutely nothing to do thanes done but surely none of this matters as long as he keeps updates coming uhhuh IGN all the drama he continued to add stronger pets better did well guess but most importantly a 10,000 Robo game pass allowing you to equip infinite pets just a few minutes ago when I talked about Russo spending 40,000 Roo on a single game pass and that single game pass was the infinite pets game pass this was for 10,000 Robux however I think the other one for 40, was a permanent and this one literally only lasted for 2 weeks but after this things took a sharp left turn the game completely slowed down on updates this was a massive problem considering how repetitive and formulaic the game play was without new worlds most players had time to reach the final Zone and completely stopped playing except he did update it Preston returned with a few interesting updates here and there this was only shortlived at the height of at all why is he now abandoning his game well for one the more money he makes the more comfortable he gets which means he wouldn't grind as much for example rip inja grew the largest Roblox game by helping players putting his hearts into updates and making the most insane experience for Content creators regardless of how big his game gets but on the flip side Preston makes a cash grab update once a month and dips I will say it is interesting that part of my job as a YouTuber has always been if I'm going to play a game a lot like pet simulator I always made it a point to be friends with the developers I haven't talked to Preston but maybe one time in the entire two years I've been in the pet simulator Community it is what it is I guess been doing selfish things like striking Games inspired by him I will say this in Preston's defense yes he has done some questionable things in the past but I think there's more to it than what we're seeing especially for for this pet Simulator X Creator in the dmca stuff there were a lot of one for one copy games basically ripping off the entire business model and the entire reason to play Pet simulator stealing players Away by using his own assets that's like somebody taking my videos and re-uploading them and me just sitting there doing nothing about it like that just doesn't make any sense of course you're going to dmca those did he take it a little far yeah I I think probably he did I will never know on top of which him doing every single game he seems to be building on what he's learned what things have worked what things have not worked for instance the economy breaking the moment they put out the diamond mine update and nobody being able to afford any pets whatsoever in pet Simulator X how do you get rid of all the diamonds you can't just take them out of everybody's inventory instead you start over fresh there it is9 his last free games almost every world has a custom Min game that gives you something to do and although the game does have gambling the dev's made up for it in an interesting way instead of spending thousands of Roo on game passes you can trade pets for diamonds which you can then use for special powerups like equipping more pets and More Pet damage plus once you're at the final Zone you still have all these extra side effect which appear actually turned into a fun competition we should all give him another chance to make something great as long as he continues to learn and adapt and then he went a whole month without up the game that he just brought out if you think of pet simulator in the terms of every version of the game being like the alpha and then the beta now the full release game I think the full release game is pet simulator 99 it's grown it's got a lot of things to do I have spent hours and hours and hours on it just doing mindless stuff that I couldn't have done in pet Simulator X it's all just going to come down to how many pay to win updates are they going to do and how often are they going to update the game as long as you stay away from the bad sides of those have equal free to play and pay to win and updating multiple times a month not like the once a month you've been doing this game actually has a lot of reason for Success the fall of these different Roblox games have one thing in common since both devs were so focused on money and growth they completely neglected the well-being and safety of players at the end
