hi welcome to simply scoober now I'm going to be looking at the differences between a clamp and din valves on the top of cylinders whenever you buy a brand new scuba diving cylinder it will come with a valve that looks just like this in its current configuration it's suitable for a clamp regulators as you can see that green oring on the front here all of these valves have a removable insert and what you need is an 8 millimeter allen key you put that into the center of the insert and the top of the valve and unscrew it like so taking out the o-ring you've got two oring x' on that insert removing that insert turns the top of the valve into a din valve which suitable for all m25 din first stages to fit a din regulator this is din so you can see the threads on it here and you can see the o-ring on the front of it there that's what's going to be making the seal inside of the valve all you do is you simply marry up din into the valve and then just screw it hand tight you don't want to over tighten otherwise you'll struggle to undo it at the end of the dive and then all you do is simply turn it on for a clamp regulators let me just take this one off if you do have didn't regulate is what you can buy is an a clamp adapter which will turn your dinner egg you later into an a clamp regulator and they simply screw on like that let's turn this valve back into a clay with your 8 mil allen key and screw the insert back in again just hand tight is fine and for a clamp you want to marry up this face onto the green o ring there and screw this just hand tight again and that should hold the pressure now if we go back to din there are two different types of dinner owls this one we have here isn't 232 bar din vac which only has 5 threads and the inside of the valve when you compare that to a 300 bar cylinder it has a much larger valve on the top it has seven threads compared to the five of the smaller valve now these valves are unsuitable for a clamp regulators because you cannot fit them over the top or a clamp regulators can only take up to 232 bar of pressure and that's the main difference between din valves and a clamp rails thanks for watching
