[Music] internet the chicken connoisseur AKA Elijah quesi is an internet personality and content creator from Tottenham who started his YouTube channel in August 2015 and uploaded his first video titled the penis Munch episode 1 which would see Elijah Venture into the depths of Hackney and visit the monor brow boss man at the taste of Tennessee chicken shop each episode of the penis Munch would feature a variety of criteria that the chicken shop would be judged on including but not limited to taste text mixture drink selection sources and boss man friendliness he's been on records stating that a big inspiration for the show was Greg Wallace from MasterChef another segment of the show was crep check which would document and flamboyantly show with shoie had on that day the creps paired with the school uniform timean Blazer created the ultimate character that would further integrate the street culture element and authenticity to the show to begin with Elijah's videos only had around 700 views each with a total to 50 subscribers that was until the second week of December in 2016 when basically overnight Elijah and the penus Munch became a viral sensation I remember the day his content went viral so vividly everyone in their chicken was tweeting about how this incredible content popped up out of nowhere he captured lightning in a bottle and was loved for his natural onscreen Charisma this guy has a solid career in media ahead of him not even joking this could actually determine how popular a business is the amount of young people watching this and actually going to the chicken shops because of your reviews they should be asking you to go to their shops and put an official rating on their window so we know where to go this needs to be made into a TV show as the virality happened people also became confused at how old the chicken connoisseur actually was he stated on multiple occasions that he doesn't want to discuss his age although it was quickly pointed out that he was actually 26 despite his youthful looks but that also helped build the character of the chicken connoisseur being 26 and looking like a high school student was also a mirror joke in itself as going to chicken shops after school with your lunch money is basically a right of passage in the UK the uploads continued with episodes dropping on a regular basis all whilst making appearances on mainstream platforms and getting artists to feature in his videos as well however on the 6th of January 2017 he would briefly find himself in controversy after uploading episode 10 of the penis Munch he quickly came Under Fire as it featured an appearance from the rapper Bonkers who is a convicted sex offender and also went to jail for kidnapping and torturing a disabled man despite the backlash at the time it wouldn't affect his momentum in the social media space in the last 10 years the internet has se an influx of entertainment series based around Fried Chicken You could argue that there are three Horsemen of the chicken shows hot ones with Shawn Evans chicken shop date with Amelia de molenberg and of course the penis munch and on Valentine's Day in 20177 the be if him and his editor had a falling out half the enjoyment is the editing on the 24th of March 2017 episode 17 of the penis Mantra debut an unbeknown the viewers would be the final episode of the pangis Munch as fans recognized it Alicia madur was the video editor for the penis Munch and him and Elijah allegedly had a falling out it's unknown the reason exactly why but Alicia was interviewed about working with the chicken connoisseur and talked about him favorably on the 15th of September 2017 he uploaded a trailer for the second seasoning of the penis Munch after a 3 and 1 half month Hiatus however the following episodes would be in his words a and without an editor on people obviously chicken G the store here I was thinking I'll do a quick Christmas special it's going to be Acappella as you know cameraman business editing filming all of that it's a bit long still getting that processed so I thought you know what just for today one take one take continuing on in episodes Elijah found a new editor or editors however the videos just didn't seem to have the same Gena qua they varied in consistency and of production which often left the viewer feeling disjointed and felt like they didn't know what they were going to get with the penis Munch episodes the biggest difference was the flow Transitions and noticeable difference in cinematography 5 minutes in and you just want to pull the plug the absence of an editor put the whole show in a persistent vegetative state he should move on and let it die in peace the chicken connoisseur had beef with his editor and stopped posting when he had the streets unlock despite this he was still pulling in numbers and successfully captured the mainstream media's attention and in October 2017 it was announced that Elijah would star on a Channel 4 show entitled The Ping life which aired in August 2018 and only ran for four episodes the show would feature the chicken connoisseur and his mates were reviewing everyday and luxury lifestyle products and experiences the show had mixed reviews with most feeling like it was a corporate wash down version of his YouTube channel and others considering it just an easy watch when building a career in the media it's always tempting to take the offer of the mainstream for obvious reasons you can make the show higher production and get features from celebrities however you can also do that on a YouTube channel but the biggest difference is they'll provide the budget and in almost all cases take away some degree of creative control between August 2018 and 2023 videos continue to be sparsely uploaded with some videos still hitting a million views an episode but the majority see a decline in viewership during this time Elijah would also experiment with his content producing two other shows on his Channel or deres and money up but on the whole he would get a run of consistent uploads which would then be followed by hiatuses alongside these factors it probably didn't help that he tweeted some extremely controversial opinions that resulted in him deleting the tweets on the 14th of April 20203 Elijah would upload a video titled my bad in which he would apologize for the irregular loads what one people um obviously this week's edition of all deres has been missed this episode obviously it's not the pay us much it should be it can't quite be I'm going to kind of have to ghost for a minute because yeah I screwed up my AdSense account and I need to make a new one then it needs to get approved and all of that so yeah I'm going to be ghost for a minute and I'll come back when everything's fixed underneath in the comments someone stated this channel has more Tech ISS issues than chobble in 2023 his audience would be subjected to continued technical issues and PSA videos which would also be mixed in with occasional penis Munch episodes in his PSA videos he explained that his channel got demonetized and resorted to setting up a second channel in July 2023 titled extracurricular chicken connoisseur on the new channel he uploaded a Q&A and explain the situation of lack of uploads once more and then again in another video on his main Channel titled my final PSA in August 2023 we've been away for a minute but we're back we're back for a hot second quick PSA obviously since I last said my bad the channel has been demonetized no pece coming in so the only solution I have found would be to make a second channel so second channel is here extracurricular connoisseur for all my extracurricular activities now it wasn't YouTube's fault necessarily that that it got demonetized it might be you know there's a couple individuals who I was chatting to you know what maybe they were AI Bots they could have been AI chat Bots who I was chatting to which is why it would explain why they weren't that helpful cuz I asked you know what is the actual problem they said they couldn't tell me what the problem was they they're not allowed to it's not you know it's part of the policy not to say what the actual issue is on the 3rd of November 20203 Amelia de molenberg and sha Evans crossed over on each other's platforms breaking the chicken show extended Universe this event made people question what on Earth happened to the chicken connoisseur and why he didn't necessarily hit the heights of chicken shop date and hot ones today the chicken connoisseur channel has 867,000 subscribers and there's no reason why the chicken connoisseur can't make a comeback if the videos were more concise he's a talent on screen but this is a common untold story within the YouTube industry and film making as a whole creators don't realize how valuable good editors and cameramen are to their product if you remove one of the best elements of that content it's always going to result in a distrust with your audience
