The deadliest, NASTIEST shotgun slug we've ever tested?

what in God's green earth is this got it hey everyone this is Jeff of t fler m today we have another submission by Evan Perry in fact this is submission number 38 by this madman now besides having his own YouTube channel we've also created a playlist dedicated to all his creations and trust me he has come up with some very imaginative and just weird and wacky rounds that most of the time actually work really well now today we've got a projectile that Evan calls the triple thread now to me it looks like a cylinder from uh like a North American Arms mini revolver so I thought revolver would be kind of a catchy name for these projectiles but as you can see these things are loaded with three 22 caliber ramps set blanks there's no projectiles in them but these are normally used for nail guns the main body of the projectile is made out of a DC motor Armature now this Armature is made up of dozens of Razor thin steel laminations and those are mostly held together by that center pin now I had to figure out how to make these things work so I use 18 grains of e3 propellant an fs12 gas seal a cork wad uh a Mech Sabo basically a shot cup a fiber wad inside of that and our little projectile goes on the end of that and the Finish shell looks like that they gave it a roll crimp using the Nick Ross Reloaders Network roll crimper I love that thing okay let's head out and see how well these function hi I'm Mike you guys have seen me here before I'm back again with our uh guest shooter here today how's it going I'm Tyler just one of the guest Shooters excited to see what's going to come out of this Barrel today and today we're shooting a Mossberg 500 with a 24in uh rifle barrel and we're also going to shoot this today it's called the revolver all right here we go you ready yep I think they blew up yeah I can see did you see a flash yep yep test number one went beautifully we had detonation of the three blanks and that ejected out dozens of little miniature rapidly spinning saw blades did not expect that that is just kind of terrifying what happened Mike all right well the slug flew a little high but at least you hit it yeah I hit it and it actually went in pretty deep about a/2 inch or so all three of the shells went off this one blew out so in the slow-mo you guys are going to see the nice nice bright flash yeah it's it happens really fast though and this is what that slug is made out of just layers of lamination yeah teeny tiny super that's going to be interesting when we shoot the gel if that comes apart or not that is going to be pretty cool yep yep okay let's shoot another Target let's shoot another Target okay anytime you're ready yikes where were you aiming on that I was aiming about Center Mass right here in the chest and it looks like you got them right here and split them up in the top of the head up front no that's that's an old one oh this is where we got then it's all burned there yeah you can see the burn marks it actually set it off just hitting the gel yeah so that that gives you an idea when we shoot the gel block what what's going to happen there and how dirty it's going to it's going to ruin the block at jail more or less in test number two against the ballistic gel gummy bear again we have detonation and fragmentation just flying all over the place now we weren't sure if the Soft ballistic gel would actually set off the blanks or not so that's why we have that ar500 plate behind there but as you can see an object flying at around 1,000 mph impacting even something very soft like that it's more than enough pressure to set him off okay had a kear police helmet you know it's a police helmet because it says police on the front of it right doesn't it yeah it's official okay I'm ready when you are shooting at kind of the top of the helmet oo here comes the projectile spinning at about 30,000 RPM now bear in mind these are just a concept round and I doubt they will ever be produced thank God and uh so don't ask where you can buy these things things I shot it aiming here hit high right it almost it looked like it should have glanced off the helmet that the angle it hit but if you can look closely you can see the slug is still in there with all of its fragments let me zoom in there I think I can kind of see it let me get my flashlight okay it should have glanced off that thing but it burrowed in there still that's wild I wouldn't have expected that and that's the deformation that happens okay that would probably cave your head in yep wouldn't feel good you should a top one right on yeah we're going for the top they got the safety on yeah I got it on all right damn that did a good job on it now we wanted to test these on as many different types of targets as possible and this half slug did a pretty good job on this center block or concrete masonry unit or whatever people call it but fortunately I don't have any plans on starting a second Channel discussing the attributes of concrete blocks it pretty much destroyed the block it did a lot more damage than I thought and uh the slug itself yeah turned into a whole bunch of little ninja stars with very very sharp little points on them let me see if I can get a closeup of that ow that's what they look like the when they came apart imagine having all that inside your gut that's terrifying and then the the that's what's left of a one of the blanks pretty cool pretty cool we got a Target that Mike came up with it's a mixture of uh hair conditioner and window cleaner it's like a new product that he's you heard of a shampoo and conditioner this is kind of one of those t for things you yeah it cleans your your glass shower door while you clean your hair okay not the way you want to clean it though okay let's see if they can hit it I'm ready holy crap that was a good [Laughter] Target holy look like again it shot a little bit High these lightweight slugs sometimes do that but windage was really good and so it went through the conditioner and through the glass cleaner creating a cloud out of actually smells pretty good I like the smell now we thought it would be interesting to show what these do to a liquid Target the accuracy so far seems pretty decent with these the only issue we had was they tended to shoot a little bit high at times and they started making adjustments for that okay I believe you Austin Tyler oh Tyler this time try okay yeah try holding the gun into the bag and you probably shouldn't put it rest the pump on the on the rest cuz then then we're getting some weird Barrel harmonics transferring to the rest we'll see if that makes a difference and we are rolling and I'm ready see he got it he got it and that slug went straight through into the water I saw the backsplash damn that was got believe [Applause] man see got [Music] it Tyler did a great job hitting the Tactical bistic pean we're trying we're finally figuring out where these are going it took takes a few shots sometimes they they seem to be going high so you had to compensate for that little bit a little bit more into the right oh okay yeah little uh Kentucky windage that's right so that's what's left of that pean pean or peon we got lowbudget body armor got the Lula Uline catalog and a and a cheat metal plate on top of it we know that ought to do it we know how foone books stop 50 cal but this is going to stop a 12 gauge don't worry about it f all right let's strap it on oh it shot high oh it went right through his right through the chest yeah damn that did shoot super high okay let me save that file then we'll that I'm telling you man it's that was way high yeah [Music] okay now Tyler's going to try it going to aim really low I guess there you go now folks always want to see longer range shots and this was about 30 yards away and as you can see it usually takes a couple shots just to figure out where they're going to land at that distance now Mike shot was just a little bit high but the windage was dead on and with Tyler's shot the elevation was perfect but it shot a little bit to the right but all in all for an experimental slug I think it did quite well yeah this is Mike shot a little high missed the armor you can see it penetrated in the chest of the front it came out to the back of the shirt right here there one piece apparently and then your shot we we aimed at cuz these are shooting a little high I didn't surprise me at that range yeah so I was aiming about right here above the line went a little bit High to the right yeah these are right here aren't the most accurate slugs we've ever shot for sure but didn't make it through on the way out in the back that's that surprises me now let's see what happened in the paper in the the catalog there you cut it or Mike you got a blade hold on oh you got it got it this a Kung Fu Grip there we go usually I do but oh look at that okay came to the paper LIF the shirt up and did make an entry is it in there yep okay cuz I I shook it around hoping it would rattle or something but yeah no exit on the back yeah that's that's that surprised me so that the armor actually did it was kind of fortunate that you missed to show that it would actually penetrate all the way through it and then um then to show that the the Hong Kong body armor kind of slowed down at least pretty cool you know what time it is it's jelly Contraption time you got to believe Mike okay I'm ready got it did it get a good got a good flip on it got it let's check out the kronos's high-speed camera footage oh wow now this was a pretty rugged piece of gel and I wasn't about to use a nice clean new one for this nasty round now the slug actually did very well on this it got uh about 14 in of penetration that's what the FBI really likes and we had a really impressive energy dump into this gel it just flipped that 17 pound block of gel completely over okay let's take a closer look at it cut the projectile out and see what it looks like but right we did hit and it was a pretty solid hit yeah detonated right there see where it ignited so rotate it this is going to screw people so it went it came in from that direction yeah yep yep that that's like really good uh FBI standard penetration there oh yeah and that slug definitely looks mangled in there we won't know until we uh cut it open and pull it out it's just a Big Blob of mangled Mist yeah yeah I I'm I'm hoping it it came apart or you know we've seen the it turn into you know 50 razor blades in there this is what's inside there just everything that was in the Shell from the gas seal to the wad to the [Applause] Sabo just carried in there and there's the projectile there it is that would not want that inside me look how they turned that's what I was talking about that's you're right you actually said it was going to do that there going to be like a boat Rudder the boat rudder and those are very sharp little tips there those like a like a needle not much holding it together but yeah that's that's ugly well what do you just what do you think about these things I thought they were pretty damn cool to be honest with you yeah Evan comes up with some very creative stuff and U I don't know where he comes up with these ideas but man they're just genius man I'm going to make a I'm going to make a shotgun slug out of a motor commutator or an Armature very good job job yeah very nice and then the the the little uh nail gun blanks actually kind of did something even when they hit the gel yeah Prett exciting very exciting these were fun man I think I'm going to have to make so I'm glad I didn't bore you guys oh no something you want to definitely take your time with yep yep definitely not the best conditions completely overcast had to run the the camera very slow but uh I hopefully the imagery came out pretty good oh not that's ugly you met FBI standards though
