kitchen impact is known for basing its fictional World off of the cultures and history of real-life Nations this not only applies to the overall countries in the game but also to a very specific group of characters as of now each of the currently released Nations has their own dancer character and just like the countries they hail from they too have parallels to some sort of real-life culture for this video I heavily researched how each of the current dancers in gunshin Impact connect to real-life forms of cultural dances timestamps will be included in the description so if you would like to see what real life culture your favorite dancer was based on please feel free to use them without further Ado let's begin the first answer to be added into gentian impact was Eula a night hailing from monstat and a descendant of the aristocratic Lawrence Family now most of the people who know Eula probably think that her dance is the Tango after all she does mention Tango in her character demo it takes two to tango Eula does not dance the tango rather she performs a dance from Spain known as the Flamenco so with specific parts of Yule's character connects to Spanish Flamenco well there are actually three parts of her character that connect to the dance this is her choreography music and even the history behind the dance first let's explain the choreography if we pay close attention to her hand gestures she constantly positions them in an upward and curved position this could be seen in her character art the dance itself and even in her attack pattern these upward hand gestures are common Staples of Spanish Flamenco also Flamenco is often marked by constant heel tapping on the ground this too is performed by Eula besides the use of flamenco dance poses eula's theme song from her character demo also matches the genre of Flamenco music of course we hear the Spanish guitar constitute most of the song which is common in Flamenco however there is an instrument used in eula's theme song that is uniquely exclusive to Flamenco that being castanets these are snapping instruments that make the distinct Clapper sounds during eula's performance lastly the history of the flamenco dance is also fairly similar to eula's dance in her character demo she states that her dance was once a way for her ancestors the oppressive Aristocrats of monstat to show off and brag about their wealth and power this was once part of a ceremony for Aristocrats to show off their stature now it's just a private Pastime in a similar manner this matches the background of the flamenco dance during March of the 20th century Spain was ruled by fascia's totalitarian dictator Francisco Franco who oppressed the minorities of Spain in order to instill a sense of Spanish dominance he adopted the flamenco dance as a part of his oppressive regime's nationalist identity turning it into a symbol of Oppression for the smaller ethnic groups of Spain however just like eula's dance flamenco went back to being a simple cultural icon rather than a symbol of authority coming from Lua the country based off China we have Yoon Jin just like her Homeland her form of dance is also inspired by Chinese culture her genre of performance is Chinese Opera or shichu this is an art that combines music dance and storytelling and puts them onto the medium of a stage this method of musical storytelling from Chinese Opera is especially seen during the lantern Rite where Yoon Jin sings a ballad of shanghai's story in this genre yunjin's use of stretched vocals to tell a story is specifically known as Chiang Bai [Music] in addition to the aspect of Storytelling another part of Chinese Opera that is seen in yunjin is her choreography in this genre of dance musicians have to keep their notes on par with the movements of the dancer this means that every movement of the dancer has to be complimented by a sound from the musician in order to keep things in sync these movements could range from footstepping or other physical cues [Music] foreign choreography or storytelling of yunjin that makes her so similar to Chinese Opera but her costume as well unlike other dancers in this video yunjin is the only one that seems to wear a considerable amount of makeup these Cosmetics actually Bear significance in Chinese Opera since we see red makeup on yunjin it actually goes in line with her story of shinha just like how yunjin's story is about shanghai's devotion and bravery her red makeup's color often symbolizes the same exact themes in Chinese storytelling [Applause] [Music] perhaps the most accurate thing about yunjin's dance is her clothing what made yunjin Stand Out is her headdress and how it may look like Dango to some people the truth is this is actually a traditional Chinese Crown known as a fenguan [Music] ayaka is a young noblewoman and princess of the kamisato clan from Inazuma which is a nation heavily based on Japan therefore her dances are also heavily inspired by Japanese culture so the first type of Japanese dance that ayaka may seem to perform is the my dance this is a part of the larger group of Japanese traditional dance that is especially performed by the Geisha just like what we see in the cutscene ayaka makes multiple gestures and motions that represent circles this too is seen in my which is often characterized by circular movements furthermore both Mai and ayaka make use of the fan in Japan fans symbolize someone's high social status which is fitting for someone like ayaka who is of noble and Wealthy birth going back to the story of Mai some of the early pieces of the genre's music come from blind composers which is why most of the moves are slow and cautious this is somewhat symbolic to ayaka's story Quest until the traveler arrived ayaka didn't have many friends outside of her work life this figuratively made her blind to the joys of the outside world however there is one more dance that could be compared to ayaka this is the kagura dance whereas Mai is for frivolous means kagura is of religious origin and connects to Japan's native religion of Shintoism the calm movements of kagura which are also associated with fans seem pretty fitting for ayaka just like Hadi kagura is performed in religious rituals ayoka's kamisato Clan as a part of the ashiro commission which handles the religious Affairs of narukami Island many of us know that sumru is heavily based on the Middle East North Africa and India nila's form of dance comes from a specific part of the Middle East known as Persia the first connection is its choreography take a look at how nilu crosses her hands these actions are also seen in Persian dance these exaggerated hand movements come from the part of Persian dance that relies on wrists and fingers to flow accordingly with the melody Persian flutes like the Nay are also heard during her dance furthermore the Lord behind nilu's dance of sub-zerus also matches ancient Persian folklore we all know that Subzero celebrates the birth of the archon of grass or dentro and is also inspired by the dance of the flower God just like how the festival is the day of the grass God the word sub-zerus literally means day of grass in the Persian language in regards to the flower God it has even greater connection to Persian folklore and ancient Persia flowers symbolized feminine beauty and fertility which is what nila's reputation is primarily known for in sumuru in addition nilu's horns which she got from the god of flowers also symbolize fertility in Persian culture most of all the festival is obseries itself is also fairly similar to real Persian holidays specifically the dance of norus which is Persian New Year just like how sub-zeroos celebrates nahida's birth the celebration of naurus takes place during the Spring a season that has been associated with the concept of birth for centuries perhaps the icing on the cake for neelu's connection to Persian dance is her name nilu just so happens to be water lily or little lotus in the Persian language [Music] thank you
