The Creepiest OSINT Tool to Date

what's up everybody tcm back with another video and today quite honestly i am creeped out so this comes into a story that happened actually just yesterday and i have been thinking about this ever since so i'm going to walk you through the story and then i'm going to walk you through what is the creepiest ocean tool that i have encountered to date so back story yesterday i was having a one-on-one meeting with a student and he had mentioned to me that he was one of the few people that had solved an osint challenge that i posted a long time ago i think three people solved it was really complex and he did it so we got on the topic of just chatting about ocean and he told me about this challenge that um he had heard about and somebody had finally saw we were talking about like old osin challenges and really complex challenges and i'm going to bring this up on my screen so he was telling me about this it is called fine satoshi and basically this was a challenge where all that had happened was provided a picture of this guy and said find him okay this is what it looks like this is a a alternate reality game i guess was called perplex city and they had different puzzles and this is one of the puzzles so it just says my name is satoshi and they said okay how do we find this guy given this picture no real indication as to who he is where he is etc so all we have is a first name so eventually people are able to identify where he was at the time which was the small little town in france really good ocean skills they were able to find this somebody went out and took a picture in front of the same building where he was at um really cool you can see the the background has changed uh quite a bit even the landscape there but um what's what's neat is how he was actually found um so if you scroll through this little article and you can go to this to find satoshi.com um down here i was reading and said hey there was a reddit user in 2020 that used ai facial recognition with a tool called pim eyes to discover a photograph of a man holding a beer and that's this guy right here um they were able to do further research based on this photo and find information find out where he worked go ahead and identify him send him an email and indeed it was him okay it took 15 years to find somebody but ai facial recognition found this person so i said okay what on earth is this website because i've never heard of it when i'm doing reverse image searching i'm looking for image searching i'm looking through google bing yandex like the typical search engines but i've never heard of pimeis so i went here pimeis.com you can do this for free you get 10 or i think 10 searches a day for free which is pretty nice a few things before you go just dropping photos in here and doing searching um we're about to see how creepy this is by the way um understand that this is uh there's not a really good safe search feature you have to pay for that so you will likely see dicks um and in the search that i'm going to do there will be no dicks it's going to be dick free except for myself who sometimes i am a dick otherwise dick free search but i cannot guarantee that for you so make sure that you're comfortable with that because the safe search is not great they do blur out other people and they try to have blurring of um surrounding things but sometimes still the dick still gets into the photo so with that uh in place and with that acknowledged i'm going to show you the photo that i use so i thought to myself you know i want to use a photo that nobody has ever seen before it's in a situation that you know is just something that was personal to me and never made it to the internet now you can upload a photo or you can take a a selfie and um i shared this with uh casey john ellis last night and he took a selfie and he said it worked fantastic and it just shows you what ai is capable of and how scary this is anyway uh topless picture alert coming in i took this photo of me this is me with a dolphin and i wanted to test and see what they could do with this photo so all i did was come in and upload that i'm going to do that now and just drag and drop onto here it takes a couple seconds and then it finds your face automatically picks it out if you have multiple people in your photograph it will ask you which face you want to search for or you could search for both um you can see where it does blurring around here on the sides and over here it tries to blur anything out but the face um i think that's partially for sales purpose like it's gonna say hey um like this photo here if you wanna go find this photo and you hit open image or open website it's going to say hey you need to pay money for this now i was so impressed yesterday that i paid money i paid 30 bucks for the month subscription because you get 25 searches a day and i just started like oh sinting random people on the internet i would grab a random photo and see if i can identify who that person was just because this tool is so powerful but literally like this pulls up from teachable from ilf um websites i don't even know apparently there's a picture of me on the queen city skitty's website i did not know that uh and you could just scroll through here and like i mean look at this this is all me this is my face right now honestly like last night when i was doing this this is all me and then they give you some lower score results but look this is a photo of me for i mean it's from youtube but that's from high school i got a lip ring um i hadn't had braces yet like my hair is a mop so it's able to identify your face over the years so this is what 15 year old photo comparatively um it's identified me here and i'm not gonna scroll down any further just to to be safe because uh you know who knows with the dicks again but otherwise this is absolutely crazy it's absolutely bonkers uh i you know go play with it i have no affiliation to this but this is something that i'm going to absolutely add into my repertoire for for ocean skills and this leads us to the debate of good versus bad uh i think there's a lot of good that can come from this tool doing facial recognition and being able to identify uh people especially if you're looking for like a missing person or somebody that's like wanted and you have a screenshot or a picture of their face from a camera you might be able to upload it here find their facebook profile or find some pictures and be able to identify them fairly quick especially if they're a dangerous individual um on the flip side of that this is really limiting our privacy and there's a lot of bad that comes with the good of this ai and this ai to me is very very scary and it's scary how advanced we're getting who knows where it's going to be in five years or ten years but for me to upload a photo of myself from a couple years ago and just nothing nobody's ever seen it before take my face go scan it and find all those pictures of me uh i'm i'm terrified honestly um creepiest creepiest ocean tool to date i'm not gonna lie though i'm totally gonna use it when i'm doing missing person searches and doing other searches for ocean cases um i think that this could be an incredibly valuable tool um and at least for the one month i'm gonna go play with it and buy it but again i have no affiliation to this tool um nothing at all i just wanted to share it show you what's out there and why i got creeped out and i figured i had to make a video about this so um that's This was written up in Wired. He calls it an "OSINT challenge", but it was actually an ARG.
