Saw this and my heart just sank. Her voice just gets me. Rest in peace Dolores. Smh.
My father really loved The Cranberries, and I grew up liking them as well. Unfortunately, I can't listen to them anymore. When my father passed a few years ago we had him cremated. When I went to pick up his ashes, I fucking bawled my eyes out. Once I mustered up the strength to leave the crematorium I got in my car. I started it and turned on the radio. Old car, so the radio rook ~30 seconds to turn on. The first thing I hear is the intro to Dreams. I had to pull over and cry for another 20 minutes. I still have to change the radio when it comes on.
Absolutely fantastic </3
One of my favorites from the 90s, may you rest in peace lovely woman...
This is the first song that Dolores wrote the lyrics for as part of The Cranberry Saw Us. On the first day that they met, the boys gave her a tape with the chords, and two days later she came back with the song in basically its finished form. Until that point, the boys had been creating songs with titles such as "Throw Me Down a Big Stairs", and "How's It Going to Bleed".
