today we're gonna be talking about a fellow youtuber named Caleb leopard he is a youtuber who has been documenting his struggles with the custody issues revolving around his divorce with his ex-wife and her new husband I personally was introduced to this channel a few months ago by another subscriber on this channel who left it in a comment and I'm going to talk a little bit about his story in his video but one of the things I want to talk about are one things I want to basically say before we get started is some of these videos can be triggering because you'll see interactions with his ex-wife and his and her new husband and interactions with their kids now some of you may be you don't think that that there's an issue with vlogging about that personally I think because if you look at the duration of this story you see where where I started it was basically when his oldest son Parker was 14 years old he's now 19 maybe either 18 or 19 years old so it so this is a long documented incident and I will say that from watching it things didn't necessarily turn out probably the way he expected but I think it's a really good story of what can happen how I can how it can play out and how if you persevere at the end things can start to turn around now this like I said is a long story so it's there's there's some good points and some bad points now we'll start with the video for it which is titled 14-year old Parker stands up for his rights and this is where I was introduced to this story initially and it's a pretty long video I'm going to leave a little I'll run a little clip of it but I'll leave a link up in and in the little tab up there to where you can see his channel Caleb's channel and you can get a playlist of those videos and I would encourage you to check them out because it's it's a very surreal thing to watch because it goes through basically the scenario you can kind of watch the progression of where he ultimately is today to be perfectly honest I'm probably glad that I was introduced to this to Caleb's story later because what's happened recently as a result of his latest court case has been some victories and it sounds like he's really accomplished what he's been trying to accomplish now this is still new in the process so and they still have more court Tour hearings to go this isn't a done deal we all understand how that works out but I think the progression from you know four to five years ago to today is a pretty interesting story the first thing we're going to start up this first video and like I said I'm going to pale it play a little clip of it is Caleb is dropping off his kids to his ex-wife and his fourteen-year-old decides that he doesn't want to go to he wants to stay with his dad and he doesn't want to go with his mom and this this is a seventy five minute video if I remember correctly the law enforcement is involved and it's really complicated so let's roll this little clip and you can take a look at this real quick and just get an idea what we're talking about Ernie now's not the time you need to come in and we can talk about this okay the kids told me that you want to live with him yes sir okay we'll talk about it in inside I don't want to get out do what now I don't want to get out I'm sorry I don't want to get out I'm sorry the you're a child and you don't get to make all the decisions but you need to get out now and it's time to come home okay but there's no way there's no way that you can just roll up everything's fun and you can just roll up and say oh I'm not going to get out of the truck and this moment is not going to say oh okay my kid my kid that operates for 14 years see you later I'm just not that way being real ugly right now this is being super duper disrespectful and you need to come home now and I have to call a police officer to come help me I would hate to have to do that but I sure enough will go huh oh okay Caleb's going to get into some trouble because he knows that he has to return to it too they're going too fast you get your laundry done no matter where you go you're going to have to do your homework it's not you don't get it really last depiction of that over at campus honey because you don't have to do anything we don't fight well honey maybe it's because you don't have your mouse over the example they give it two weeks no I'm not going to you are my child and I will not give you over to somebody that there are adult issues that are not anything that you need to be concerned with right now but if I thought for a second that that was an appropriate place for you to live if I thought for a second that it was an appropriate place at this one just for you to go on a visit I don't think that an industrial engine business a good planks for China's military school a better place for him to go she's not going to military school okay won't be but let here that nobody ever said he was going to military school the other seven yard and I go look at no we never get as you did you said the other day you and I were laugh and I said oh my gosh boy you're driving me crazy I know why people go to military after we got done no it was a joke Parker's problem just like whenever you joke come up to hit me I would never send you off anyway the Freeman's came in and said you need to go out and talk to Parker clip now he would be with the chef we have not standard orders we had a very strange mediate agreement this man does not see the children on a regular basis and all of a sudden my kids are five and they leave and when they come home I have a child that does not want to get out of this car and my ex-husband is saying oh he's free to go whenever he wants to but I'm not going to make it get out well they're filming me they're being not confrontational but you know it's that whole I'm not touching you I'm not touching you just if this child needs to come home he's 14 years old but do I get muddy yes sir I have legal custody of you Parker and I'm unlocking the sparks no you're my column I didn't know okay I'm getting you out of the car can we ask for the door to the unlocked you can do it a pair that all this is a bad child situation get out of the car oh no this is really the wrong one get-get her arm out no I'm not in my arm out your hi Canada stop yes yeah you said that I could use whatever methods the force necessary to get into that car good aside from Jelinek I start from killing him is exactly what she said yes sir yes their situation and your name Roche our beds number 120 okay okay put it this then she's going to PI 1 & 6 on the bodies I'm going to coordinate I would advise you that you coming because you're doing a good thing reporting live so you can show off everything so I don't know we care about all know he's cared about there might have been something that happened just make sure that this father is willing to take my behalf ok daughter's in a civil way but his father can take him y'all taking my support and working every way that's similar to another adult civil matters now going to court that another child testamentary tubing day these loans they do now let me assume it's considered a big deal I think we do yeah you know another quarter we do whatever important because refusing a so stick which is an addiction okay forego thank you thank you very much thank you okay so you can see in the little the little excerpts I've taken out of it you can kind of see the stress of the situation you can see how it's playing out you can also see that law enforcement did get involved now ultimately they like we talked about on this channel before they basically said this is a civil matter it's not a criminal matter although at some point if you watch the whole video you'll see that it almost escalated with the interaction between Parker and his mother it almost escalated to a criminal situation and fortunately that didn't happen but the the two officers that arrived aloud did not force Parker to get out of the car did not force him to go with his mother even though the visitation says it's her time and ultimately they let Caleb and Parker leave now that was that was a pretty emotional video and when you watch the whole thing and whenever you know at the end of it you're like yeah you know finally you know some some success some some progress and it's a little bit different because it's tough because you can look at it multiple different ways and if you'll read the comments and stuff there are some people who are like you know he shouldn't have done that he shouldn't got involved you know everyone was acting badly I think a lot of us can understand what he's going through and if you listen to the video and you hear the abuse that Parker's talking about at the hands of his mom and a stepdad you know it's it's it's very like I said it's very triggering you may not be able to watch that video and maybe you know just the experts I've showed is enough for you to get the context of the idea and if you watch Caleb's channel you'll see that you know things went pretty well they had about six months until they went back to court and Parker was happy when they went to court Parker testified as I understand it I could be wrong I'm taking this from what I've watched before and trying to just clean what happened my impression is is that Parker said he want to live with his dad he talked about the abuse that was going on and one would think that in that scenario with a fourteen-year-old that he would have got that Caleb would have got custody of his fourteen-year-old and everything would have been fine well that's not what happened in a subsequent video called Parker versus the man that is basically the outcome of that court case where it was ordered that Parker was to stay with his mom I think there's some confusion if you watch the whole thing it sounds like mom got full custody the kids I don't think that's accurate but bottom line is is he was caleb was not Kayla Parker was forced to go back and live with his mom and that was a pretty amazing video to watch too and Caleb's early caleb really promotes civil disobedience so you know not no no no no fighting no physical violence it's just you know basically making your stand and standing your ground and you can see that in the Parker versus a man video where he is Wade you know basically sitting on the ground refusing to go and I'll run a little clip of that you can watch a little bit to get an idea of what that video was about so check that out and again there's a link to the entire video in the description and in the card up at the top to where you can watch that again it's a long video again it could be triggering if you are you know I mean if you're dealing with this right now so just be aware of that if it's too much you know back off on it the whole main version of this story is to get to the end and where they're at now and how perseverance really can help any situation he is according to luck five o'clock just a few minutes ago I had no choice but to tell him Parker you have to go with your mom yeah well there's already some paperwork you're going with it understand some point of views officers the ideal sprinkling the crystal okay although think right here career home side of the law nothing criminal 14 have to know that you your rights are extended of guardianship in your parents know that right and what we have right now is the good signing of hold order saving the full 15 exactly for mother and I'm against that I even thought about let's get back to the fourteen-year-old part okay so fast-forward sometime later I'm not exactly sure how much time but as I was so bottom line is I watched the first video then I'm like wow what happened you know the video was a few years ago what happened and I found Parker vs. the man video and then I found the next video where Caleb actually gets cited for civil contempt of court and spend sixty days in jail because of this now I haven't had an opportunity to talk to Caleb about the specifics of this my guess would be and if you watch the Parker versus Amman video it was clearly stated and the judge clearly stated are not clear I mean from what was being said by the police officers talking to Parker and just in the commentary going on if the kids go back and call him and do something outside the bounds of custody they were going to send Caleb to jail that's probably what happened I'm not entirely sure but obviously some way his ex was able to take whatever was going on push the issue and ultimately the judge decided caleb was in contempt of court and sentenced him to 60 days in county jail now as a result of that and you'll notice in his latest videos he uses the hashtag notorious dad a lot and the issue with that is when he went to jail the local law enforcement are that the jailers and the cops were like why are you here but i mean you know there's a code for for you know not paying child support but there's not a code for you know when your kids call and they're asking you for help and you respond basically being a good father I mean this could be the situation for any of us being a good father a good mother depending on depending on our specific circumstances and he was to jail now a lot of us when we think about this this is like okay so this is like the worst-case fear that we think about right you know we are exes start playing these games and start saying things about you know what can happen and this is what's going to happen well in his situation you know he had to spend some time in jail as a result of this so this is about where I got got caught up with his story and I because initially what happened is I'm looking at it going okay so I saw the first video I saw the second video you know I saw the video where he talked about going to jail and you know now I'm like okay I'm looking at the time stance and I'm like well this is this is a few years ago so where is it at so I ended up finding a video where Parker was either 18 or 19 years old and his dad was talking talking to him and you know it's like okay well so things basically you know semi stabilized parker is now living living with his dad now he's an adult and he can choose so he decided to live with his dad like he wanted to do when he was 14 years old and I'm thinking wow this is a really interesting story and this is when I started trying to reach out to Caleb to say hey you know what you have an interesting story I'd like to talk to you about specifics on how you endure this how you you know how you dealt with the situation you know how you didn't go insane in the process and you were able to continue to plug along and you know maintain a good relationship with his kids I mean it's it's very apparent throughout all this drama that he still has a really strong relationship with all four of his kids you know and that as we all know that is not an easy task to accomplish that takes a lot of work especially whenever things are happening to really complicate things now just just to take a pause if you roll back the story you know if any of us were in a situation where our children were basically begging us for help to get them out of a situation and we're trying to do everything we can you know and it's hopefully one day I'll get to talk to cable about this my impression my gut feeling is is probably what happened is he was trying to force the issue to have his son live with him without having to go through the expense of a really lengthy court battle you know thinking look can we just you know look our son is actively saying and being you know steadfast that he does not want to live here he wants to live someplace else can we just work it out and his ex absolutely had no part of it you know so I don't know if that's what caused the whole blow up and maybe you know how do you I think this latest situation that we're going to ready to talk about may have change you know he asleep this tactic sand the outcome was a little bit different but all of us would be in a situation where if our kids were in that position that we would feel helpless are not necessarily helpless but we would struggle to try to figure out how to accomplish it not talked a lot about we have to make the best decisions we can make at the time and even though if you look at his situation where you know he did he didn't get custody of Parker way back when you know he ended up spending some time in jail as for civil contempt not criminal civil contempt you know these are all situations that you know you you make the best decisions you can now I will say this and if you've watched his videos he's got a very positive attitude he seems like a really super guy you know I mean maybe you agree with his tactics or maybe you don't but I personally could look at what I've seen so thus far as somebody who really is focused on the goal is doing the best he can in a really positive in constructive way and as persevered through all of this you know a lot of us in these situations the the you know we get either alienated from our kids completely which hasn't happened with him and he's not even pushing to where the kids you know should not all be with the mom he just wants them to have a voice and a choice so around this time is whenever I reached out to him to try to talk to him and as fate would have it his neck started I he's got four kids I'm a little confused with with the ages but he had another son that turned 14 and the same type of shenanigans happened this one was actually a little bit worse because I think I think mom learned from the previous experience and whenever there was an issue and his his new 14 year old Blaine was calling him saying dad I need your help can you come help me he dropped everything drove the 300 or 400 miles to to see his son picked him up basically off the side of the road you know got him fed took him home and the whole issue blew up again it actually got worse because this time they ended up arresting his son for issues which I'm not going to necessarily go into that you can watch the videos and see yourself and ended up throwing him in a mental hospital for a little bit you know and then basically completely cut Caleb out so he was even to the point where like okay fine I get it you know these days I don't have custody so I'm persona non grata I don't get to see my kid that's fine when it rolled on to the time or okay now I have custody it's my visitation time so he marched into the hospital to see his son and they're like nope sorry we don't care what's the password it's like what do you mean what's the password well we can't let you see your son unless you know the password you know and his ex has a password right so she's not going to give it to him so he was denied access to his son who was calling him for help and was put in an institution or a hospital not an institution for for evaluation and whatnot and he couldn't see his kid now ultimately that's been resolved and he's gotten out and then this leads so bottom line is well I'm trying to talk to him he can't talk to me he's in the middle of court litigation and if you watch some of his videos on YouTube and Facebook because he does both you'll see he was he was again served with contempt of court for counts you know one of them and this is a summary but I think one of them was he his ex was asking for full custody of the kids they wanted him jailed for 10 years they wanted him to pay all court costs and they wanted him to be nailed for the court cost he's still paying on from before and there was another thing I mean basically they were going for the jugular to try to tor completely torpedo torpedo Caleb now what I will tell you is I mean and I and I guys I get I mean I do YouTube videos I get that sometimes you bring your game face to the channel but what I will say is what I've seen from him I mean there are videos you'll watch if you watch his channel you'll see him stressed and anxious and frustrated but he's always positive and he always seems to be able to keep a level head in this thing and that's important on this and we'll get to that towards the end of this so as I said so now he's in a situation where he had to go back to court and actually last Friday was the court date and I was one of those folks on his channel that was actually sitting on the on the Facebook feed waiting for an answer the court went ran really long and the temporary orders out of all this is he didn't end up in jail because he said actually at one point if you watch some of the videos he's like well you know I may be in jail I'm prepared to you know I'm prepared for whatever happens so he was worried that he might end up in jail again for civil contempt I will say leading up to it there are some indications from the judge that was assigned a case that it seemed like they were take that she was going to take a more active role was intending to interview the kids to really take a more objective look at this situation and it appears that happen now granted this is temporary orders and he still has another court case to go and I actually did talk to him prior to making this video at least IIM Tim through Facebook we chatted a little bit today and I did ask him for what you know what what over some takeaways are what would he recommend somebody going through this and I'll read this my put it up on the screen and his quote was never give up only speak the truth never let fear of incarceration keep you from exposing the truth instead of calling your enemies and their supporters names ask them questions and remain calm now you'll notice that that is very similar to the advice that I typically give you guys you know remaining calm and rational throughout this whole process is key now think about it this man was able to do that while being having to spend time in jail for just trying to be a good dad I mean imagine for a second that if your child was with the other your other with your ex and something happened and they called and said you know mom could you please come and get me things aren't going great and I need and I need help what parent wouldn't I know I would now imagine if you did that and then your ex files contempt charges because you were visit you know you were exercising visitation outside of your define parenting plan now it's that would be that would be pretty darn catastrophic so bottom line perseverance on this is key one of the clear messages that the reoccurring messages that you've heard from me and four different people who have been on the channel is things generally don't start out so great but if you persevere and stick it it seems most of the time you're going to persevere and you're going to be victorious on your situation now I get from what I was just saying Caleb still has some more to go it's like I said these are temporary orders they're going to have additional hearings in the future and you know who knows what's going to happen but where he left ok so whenever going back to that Friday when he walked out of court all right it's Caleb Leverett we're here at home we got Blaine with me at hainan with me London rode with Parker we just did it Starbucks judge Billingsley ordered the Hayden get without by Hayden a Starbucks and I did we had court yesterday and judge Billingsley made her ruling she gave all four of my kids the choice to live where they want to live and I couldn't be more happy I've got all four of them going to be with me until August 11th for summer vacation and Hayden in London chose to live in San Antonio and I couldn't be more excited to take them back and Blanc chose to live with me and I could also be more excited this is a the most wonderful thing for me because kids are getting a voice basically each kid each of his children had a voice and were able to decide where they wanted to live you know he didn't come out saying I lost you know I wanted all my kids he was like this is awesome my kids have a voice they decided where they want to pick and actually what happened is is the judge said that gave him visit eight are a couple of weeks visitation with the kids over the summer so he actually got to spend some time with all of his kids together which is the other reason it's been hard to quantico ordinate with him because he's a little dizzy because he's actually spending some times with his kids and then I think sometime in August like the first fourth of August his other two kids are going to go back to his mom and he's okay with that he's happy with that he's not angry he's not mad he's he is happy that his kids have a voice and he's able to spend time with them and they get to to you know that he's not stuck in this situation you know I mean this is all almost a replication of what happened years ago with his older son Parker but it's like things are working out a little bit better so I'm hoping that once this case is over and things have stabilized I'll have an opportunity like I said to sit down with Caleb either on a video call or telephone call hopefully we can I can record it and I really want to talk to them about you know what when what went wrong originally you know what are the lesson learned from the case with the original case with Parker you know is there something that he could have done differently then that what I gave a better outcome maybe the answer is no I don't know I'd really like to understand and obviously I want to ask him you know okay so you're going through this situation you have this situation happening with you know your ex and your kids and you know how did you or how you know how did you remain calm in this how were you able to remain calm and rational with all this stuff happening you know like that when you got arrested and stuff it's it's it's a really interesting story and I would encourage you to check them out check out his channel subscribe to his channel follow him on Facebook follow the story it's it's a it's a really empowering story on perseverance and just being dedicated and having that perseverance alright so I know this was a little bit different format than a normal video I haven't really done one like this before but I thought it was important to get this story out there and I thought it might help some of you guys I'd love to hear your views on it you know maybe you agree with him maybe you don't agree with them you know maybe this whole story and what's out there is just too triggering I'd really like to know your perspective on this if you like this video give it a thumbs up if you like the channel please subscribe and like I said like I said before if you haven't gone over and signed up for the newsletter on the - scribing divorce website if you could do that sign up for that where you're I send out really interesting little email notifications a lot of back end background information and back-end information that I don't normally put on Facebook Twitter or the YouTube channel it's a great resource for that and I will chat with you guys in the next video so take care right
