Haven’t you heard? Now it’s, not forcing your entire team and managers to stop or not turning around and ratting on all of them, is just as bad as actually cheating.
These people don’t care about actual cheating, they just want to hate on Altuve. Which would be fine but they literally want to completely ruin the reputation of one of the sincerely nicest, most humble, and classiest players in the league.
As Bill Burr said, "[The Astros] brought a gun to a gun fight!"
Yeah, this is the thing that hurts my heart the most about the entire scandal. Altuve did not participate in it, said it was not helpful, and did not want them doing the trashcan thing while he was at bat. Analysis of the 2017 season has largely borne that out - somebody made spreadsheets that were posted a while back. And yet, to many opposing fanbases - particularly the Jankees - he gets met with chants of "Fuck Altuve" and has become the face of the scandal, even though he had very little to do with it.
Sadly, it's a product of the age we live in now, thanks in no small part to the extremely toxic effects of social media. People take a bunch of rumors and innuendo and run with them as truth. Altuve could play baseball naked every game, and the idiot opposing fans would still find some way to assert that he is cheating somehow. I am pretty much over what anybody else thinks of the Astros at this point. You don't like them, fine. I do. And I won't stop liking them. If you can't deal with that, then that's a you problem.
Altuve will always be my favorite Astro from the current era. He represents so many of the things that I teach my son to be about when it comes to sports - stay humble, support your teammates, and do your best every time.

-- I literally love Jose Altuve. Him and Hakeem are my all-time favorite hometown heroes.
-- LOL Bellinger running his mouth about how Altuve cheated, stole the MVP, and should have it stripped... then goes on to hit .239 and .165 in the two seasons immediately following MLB cracking down on cheating. Possibly suspicious, most likely karma, definitely shut your fucking mouth Cody.
-- It's hilarious to see that Marwin got the most trash can bangs. Of course he did (look at his season by season stats-- his 2017 stats are... suspiciously good).
-- What the fuck is suspicious about Altuve crushing a hanging 84mph slider that doesn't slide??? Fuck you Chapman and your whiny bitchass. Throw better pitches if you don't want Altuve to go yard on you.
-- Fuck Mike Fiers, forever. What an absolute fucking clown. Fuck Jomboy too, see: same reasons as Fuck Mike Fiers.
-- I love the rags-to-riches origin stories of Altuve and Correa. I love our guys. Let's go Astros!

The buzzer thing and that people still point to that as fact annoys me more than anything. The only reason why it took off was because of that tweet by "Beltran's niece" and people like jomboy ran with it like it was from the Warren Commission. Ridiculous.

Hate on all the Astros…..UNLESS……they sign with your team. Guarantee if Correa signs with the Yankees it will be a story (about the cheating) for a quick minute and then never again. Hypocrites
