The BEST Vlog Mic - RODE VideoMicro II vs VideoMicro

welcome to my channel my name is Luiz  Ribeiro and today we're gonna unbox   and test the new VideoMicro II is the new  microphone from rode as you can hear it's   it's pretty cool right it's super small super  Compact and I'm very surprised make sure to watch   this video to the end because we're gonna compare  with the old VideoMicro as well and by the way   if you want to be a part of our giveaway here on  the channel make sure to watch this video to the   end good luck but first what's in a box one video  micro two one Alex isolation Mount one TRS to TRS   cable for camera one TRS to trrs cable for mobiles  one from windshield and one furry windshield so   let's unbox here's the full experience first  we have the chords one TRS from the camera one   trrs as well for phones here it is the little one  very clean very light as well just a little menu   and there you go the windshield  very different but it's sleek   I think I like this one better compared to the  old one as it slides in like this into the line   seems like it's more solid it's more steady a hot  shoe here on the bottom as well same thing like   we had before just mount on top of our camera  and we have the cable organizer very easy very   simple so now here comparing with the old video  micro we can see here that the amount it's very   different the back is the same both have the  hot shoe organization system pretty much the   same as well this one seems to be a little bit  smaller the micro the old one definitely has a   lot more of movement going on over there and the  other one is very very steady the old micro this   would slide like so from the back that is this  little line to give a little guidance for us the   new one with the new system a lot more steady you  just slide in and it has a 360 Security right here   on the mic so I think that's why it holds better  this one is not all the way around and I think   because the point of contact is just on the bottom  right here when the new one we have two points of   contact on the top right here that is still space  but doesn't wobble as much it's very solid the   windshield you can see that the new one it's a  little bigger the size it's basically the same   yeah same but the new micro it's way lighter looks  sleeker like a little bit more professional like   a directional shotgun microphone you know what I  mean it's kind of like the MTG but very very very   tiny both of these microphones doesn't require  any battery you just plug on your camera or on   your cell phone and you're ready to go the only  thing that you need to adjust is the audio level   in a camera for example and I highly recommend to  keep in the range between -12 DB until -6 okay so   now we're gonna do some tests and compare both  of these microphones I'm gonna plug here on my   Sony A7 III and as you can see it's literally a 24  millimeter I'm just gonna put on a tripod my arm   can touch the camera so you see and have the idea  how this mic is gonna sound and the video micro   2 comes with the foam windshield with the micro I  don't think it came with this let me put this here   here in the next sound it's gonna be from the old  video micro the one that's a little bit heavier   okay one two three my test one two three mic test  video micro two sound level 10 on my Sony a73 now   is the old video micro and Sony a73 again directional  if we move facing us this is already much much   better and now wow I can see a lot of difference  and much much better of course if we speak in   this direction it would be the best option for us  even if you're vlogging if you are with your arm   straight like me if I put this very close I'm  sure that you'll be able to use for voiceovers   for your videos for your YouTube for some client  work for whatever you need because it sounds   clean to me you can pick up a lot of details  for the price of 79 US dollars is this worth   it or not I want to see how this is gonna sound  on the phony so I'm gonna get my trrs right here   we're gonna put the same thing here as on video  micro two and this one is going on the cell phone   let me just get the plug of course we're
