The Best Vanlife Bathrooms for 2023 - Van Life Shower, Toilet AND Layout Ideas!

hey everyone this week we're taking a look at the best washrooms we've seen in Van life we've got everything here from elaborate to simple to fit your needs so make sure you're subscribed and we'll get started with Bo and Yana's beautiful washroom build [Music] foreign [Music] so over here you may think it's a closet but it is not it's a shower and a washroom so when you open it up they are magnetic actually here at the very very tops you'll see they snap open here I'm going to open it up so you can get a better View um we actually don't see many people um do this kind of door a lot of people have the Nautilus retractable door shower which is really good we actually really use it when we do take a shower if you're like coming back after a really awesome hike you know the least thing you want to do is try to set up your bed or try to figure out how to do a shower so we wanted to have it really easily accessible and that was really really important for us so here these are actually like real tiles took me a really long time I wanted to kind of have this like more of a stone finish and then we used the paint that is waterproof in order to make it look this way we also have our washroom so this is the Airhead washroom it also kind of designed this Cedar piece at the bottom so again when you're taking a shower it's really nice very soft and it's not as cold especially if you're doing this in the you know dead of the winter like we did in Calgary we have a mirror here so I use this all the time so in the morning you know when I get ready if I wanted to do a meeting or anything like that and yeah that's our space we find that there's a huge divide between people who want a toilet in their build and people who don't so we're curious as to what you guys think do you and it's a practical way to store away your toilet so it's a great idea to have take a look [Music] hi my name is Lori and this is lift this printer van [Music] below the bed is where we have hidden away the toilet just in here so it's on some sliders and you just pull her out we opted for a cassette toilet instead of a composting toilet and it works perfectly well and we really like it Steve and Tracy's schooly offers a lot more space than a conventional van but even so they decided to use the difficult space around the wheel wells to build their washroom and sit down shower take a look we are Tracy and Steve and this is our schooly uh Shirley schooly welcome aboard [Music] so next to our closet is our toilet room Comfort it is a composting toilet we picked up a little ball from Mexico that we made into a vessel sink it is a DIY composting toilet under here we have some extra storage a little latch that keeps the closets closed just for keeping our toothbrushes and such so next to our fridge and opposite our toilet room is a shower it is a sit-down shower um because it's it's situated over the wheel well and we have a curved ceiling and because my husband Steve is 6'6 it was a bit limited so it's great though it's um we tiled it completely it was a challenge to tile the coat roof but the window we have ventilation which is great for those hot water showers and it is a rainfall shower which is great if you're looking for more of a conventional washroom like a pre-built Eric's will help you get an idea of what to expect foreign [Music] hey my name is Eric and this is my 2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500 AKA Vanna so across from the kitchen we have the bathroom and the bathroom was a very important selling feature for us when we bought the van because we were going to be living in it full time so the bathroom is its own enclosed room it's a full stand-up shower with a full flush toilet that's actually plumbed by the fresh water system the whole system works pretty well you can have a shower roughly up to 20 minutes long with hot water before it runs out you'll see here the toilet does work on water and it has a foot flush so very easy to flush the toilet and maintain you do have a pull out sink in here as well so a second sink in addition to the kitchen with your hose here which actually mounts to the ceiling and also doubles as your hot shower hose and last up is Braden and Holly's unique washroom that really didn't take up a lot of space in their build let's take a look foreign [Music] foreign [Laughter] hey what's up my name is Braden and I'm Holly and this is Summit and that's our bus Lola so next to our L-shaped Lounge area is the bathroom um now my husband laughs because he always in previous builds I never had like an area to get ready um so I was like you know what let's try to let's try to fit in a bathroom and we did it actually it was a little tricky the design we had to do it over the wheel well so and we needed to make it so he could also get in when he needs to use it so and he's kind of he needs that extra knee space for me I'm small so it's really not a huge problem but we designed it really well so we have hooks underneath and we got all these little bags from Ikea and to be honest they are so awesome we have two hanging baskets here again just full of bathroom stuff um we did decide to do a compostable toilet we were gonna go with a nature set but to be completely honest that is a lot of money for a toilet and I just think for what it is we decided to go to the DIY route um which was great we just got the seat uh diverter we're not using it at the moment just because where we're staying right now has a great bathroom and shower setup um but it's really easy to use um and it works really well for us uh I do think the size is great for the bathroom because I usually put like a pillow or this uh rug thing over top and then I just get ready from here we wanted a nice big mirror and it actually makes it really bright in here because it will reflect so I can even see what's going on over there and that's it for this week but before you go make sure you're subscribed to Van Clan and
