hello everyone so today I'm going to share some dual sense Edge tips which I wish I'd known earlier many of these ideas have come from the community so thanks for sharing and please keep commenting as I read every one I've compiled my top five favorite tips and I've thrown in a bonus tip at the end to help identify the dreaded stick drift so firstly The Edge controller is aimed at those Gamers who want to be better than the rest and straight out of the box The Edge controller delivers with rear back buttons and instant triggers which saves you precious milliseconds especially in first person shooters however the controller predominantly uses Bluetooth so there is a lag between pressing a button on the controller and seeing the action on screen there is a way to eliminate this lag and it involves the USB cable however it isn't as simple as just plugging it in you need to amend the way in which the controller communicates to the console and you do this in the settings navigate to the edge settings and look for the controller settings then change the communication method to wired you should now see the wired method in the bottom right hand corner next to the controller icon this will indicate the connection is made via the wire and not Bluetooth a wired connection will improve the responsiveness of the controller and again save you further milliseconds in those competitive games so I've been a big fan of pro controllers and I've been using the scuff Pro Controller since it first came out the design of the back buttons on the scuff controller are very different to the edge and many people prefer the scuff's design what's great on the edge controller is that you can manipulate the levers on the back and place them in an unconventional way to give you the feel of the scuff controller where the levers are more Central to get this effect you need to reverse the lb and RB levers this does take some time getting used to I wouldn't recommend it if you're comfortable with your current setup however if you've used a scuff before and liked it or if you are not completely satisfied with the current Edge levers you may want to check this out and see how it plays out for you now if you play with a headset and like to fully immerse yourself in the game it's difficult to hear the ambient sounds around you whether that's your phone going off the doorbell or someone trying to get your attention it becomes difficult to adjust the volume on your headset with many buttons hidden at the back or trying to find the controller to turn down the TV but you can get around this by simply holding down the mute button on the edge controller this mutes all game volume as well as muting your voice I found this tip really helpful to have a quick conversation answer my phone or listening out for that creepy noise so this one made me really frustrated but glad I was able to resolve it the function buttons are a great addition to the controller for changing profiles and adjusting game volume however if you own a pulse 3D Sony H7 or H9 headset the functionality to adjust the game and chat volume just doesn't work although this does work on third-party headsets such as Astros and steel series it's a massive letdown for anyone that's invested in a first party headset but for H7 and H9 users there is a workaround with those headsets you get a dongle which has a toggle for PC or PS5 mode if you flick this dongle to PC mode and plug it into your PlayStation 5 they still work this gives you the additional features of adjusting your game volume and game chat mix via the function buttons being able to quickly turn down teammates and turn up game volume in those end game moments is a massive game changer so this has been an issue since day one and that's the battery life and since using it I've only seen it get worse we're constantly recharging you can get five to six hours of life on the battery obviously this isn't an issue if you opt to use a wired connection however sometimes for convenience it's easier to use it wirelessly but to improve this here are a few tips to squeeze every last drop out before needing to recharge firstly you can dim the light on the controller by default it's set to its brightest vibrations can be set by the profiles so I will never play with vibrations when I'm playing Warzone however I will leave the vibrations for single player games you can also turn off the adapted triggers or reduce the intensity and lastly if you're a gamer who uses the controller as a mic to hear your friends you can reduce the output volume you may not want to turn off all these settings but reducing some of these will instantly improve the longevity of your controller now for one bonus tip and this one will help diagnose any stick drift issues with your controller within the settings you can adjust the dead zones of the thumbsticks however it's pretty hard to know how much stick drift you have Under The Dead Zone adjustments there is a line indicating the sensitivity curve as you can see on mine there is a blue bar jumping up the Line This is without me moving the thumbsticks this indicates the level of stick drift I have adjusting the dead settings removes the blue bar anything from three to four percent on a new controller is normal anything greater than that you may want to consider purchasing a new thumbstick module so have I missed anything do you have any tips for your Edge or dual search controller please let me know in the comments below if you found any of these tips useful please give me a thumbs up and please subscribe and follow me on Instagram I hope to see you in the next one thanks
