thank you [Music] foreign River [Music] welcome back to the channel in this episode we'll be exploring the Limpopo province in South Africa we'll be heading to my favorite place the Kruger National Park and finally up to another favorite mapongo boy [Music] foreign [Music] this being the month of March 2023 it's still the rainy season here in South Africa and it seems like we were in for a wet Drive [Music] after making it through a very wet and Mystic makuba's Cliff we close in on palabor foreign [Music] welcome to another exciting series of videos and I am happy for the first time in around a year and the reason why is there's a couple of reasons why but the main reason is both my vehicles are fixed all the drama and issues caused by the fella that worked on the vehicles is done it's over the 200 series is currently at rivonia Toyota getting the last few parts fitted that weren't fitted back in the vehicle and the 100 series is actually the vehicle I'm in at the moment and I'm sure you can see in the background there the echo 5 is hooked up which means I'm on a trip for the first time in a long time and what better place to go in my favorite place on Earth well one of them the Kruger National Park so what I did was I phoned Ryan and I said hey Brew you interested in going on a trip he said always Ed and yeah we we only booked it the other day and then we left Johannesburg at three o'clock this morning and headed up north on the N1 's and we are on our way to the palabawa gate at the Kruger National Park the entrance to the Kruger National Park and it's close to which Camp that's right senzi so three nights tenzie two nights put in the Maria and three nights Mazar camp in mapungubwe National Park that is an awesome trip a last minute one but one I'm really looking forward to having been in the Kruger for a very long time and yeah just great to have no core issues and almost be in the Kruger what a day and it's just gonna get better but anyways we're gonna get to palabor gate and fill up just outside because the fuel's a bit cheaper and maybe get a steers Burger there's a nice shopping center and Service Station in palaborwa what's the verdict hey my man the verdict is we look like the sea gate ambassadors so it's good I don't know it looks like Good Wood does look like Good Wood I'll just worry about the cheaper than the ones in the pot [Music] [Applause] [Music] one of the need to noises whenever you are out doing an over Landing trip one of the things to consider is getting wood so my advice you see that wood first wood you see stop and make the purchase and just make sure you have enough loading space to pack the number of wood piles you need for your trip we estimate about three bags of wood a night at a very conservative level so do the math eight days three bags of wood a night that's 24 bags we're here now and it's busy loading he's busy loading the wood and Sham these awesome people are obviously selling wood along the side of the road we're here in Africa and we're about to head into the Kruger National Park baby [Music] babies it's impossible to know if this is sustainably sourced it's just one of those things you know I don't even know if the stuff inside the park is sustainably sourced but this is better wood and it's much more affordable plus you're supporting the local community so we like doing this we can't always do it but yeah we recommended yeah from some people that it's improving the sustainably sourced wood it's getting better around the Kruger it's um you know most of the areas that aren't sourcing them sustainably have been shut down so yeah we've got 15 bags here should be enough for our Kruger leg and then we'll grab some more on the way to mapungubwe B Goodwood on the easy one rack now Ed's landed 15 bags of wood on the easy on roof rack which is an impressive roof rack but here's the beauty to this let's watch the Dismount you didn't prepare for that oh man you were a rock spider the last time jump to the you can you can jump from there to there like Spider-Man yeah I like Spider-Man he did it okay I thought that was I thought that was quite impressive well done it my man I couldn't do that [Music] so we are using the front runner ratchet straps they're quite nice they've got a lot of give and stretch inside them I nearly came short there my man this thing is dodgy so we really love the front runner uh ratchet straps they just absolutely work they're easy to use they've got little carabiners at the end just making it easy to attach to ring bolts done and dusted after stocking up with some good wood we stopped for a steers burger and at the supermarket in palabor you can get everything you need here so don't worry if you left something at home you'll find it here just on the edge of the Kruger [Music] oh [Music] we are pretty knackered after hardly any sleep last night but just being in the Kruger re-energizes you as we head north to tenzi [Music] March 2023 park has had very good rains they had quite bad flooding twice this year already the grass is tall so game viewing might not be what we expect but just being in the Kruger is amazing it's green it looks awesome I mean the clouds are art it is just stunning and we are on our way to tenzi [Music] so we've just made it to mopani Lodge and reception area and we're off now to go and have a dip in the swimming pool it's actually quite a beautiful swimming pool site good to be here and I mean the bush looks amazing we didn't see too much wildlife but when the bush is so thick that's to be expected zebra Impala alone Buffalo and um yeah but that doesn't really matter when you're enjoying yourself and you're in the Kruger National Park [Music] with a relaxing and refreshing swim over it's now time to enjoy the magic of the Kruger National Park in surely the best Campsite in South Africa [Music] thank you [Music] excuse me you can see the gate Pros effortless make sure when you come to tenzi always lock and close the gate lots of Wildlife and predators a frequent this place often but we're here we're at tenzi [Music] we're gonna just enjoy this afternoon in sanzi and take it easy we're staying in campsite number two a campsite I enjoy and certainly one of the better ones as we wait for tenzie's incredible morning chorus [Music] [Music] foreign [Applause] [Music] all right [Music] foreign [Music] good morning and welcome to tenzie and last night was just incredible we didn't film anything because we were just enjoying the Scopes hours the Pearl spot of ours the hyenas were going insane absolutely insane so we just enjoyed that we had quite an early night and yeah sends his bathrooms I wouldn't say they've had a massive overhaul but they were just brilliant so well done Roger and Elena as always and well done sandparks and you can shower underneath the stars with the outdoor showers I mean with the hyenas going off it just doesn't get any better and woken up early I think it's around six half by six now and we're just gonna chill we have some admin to do we have some emails to answer and sometimes stuff to film but I mean just listen it's work full or gray-headed bushrike natal Franklin it's all going off here at tenzie the night sounds the bird sounds in the morning there's just no place like it and what yes yeah I haven't slept that well in years just incredible just incredible and excited for the day so I think we're going to be busy in Camp in the morning and then head out on an afternoon Drive what a privilege what a great feeling being back here wood linking for sure ah yeah gonna stop going on about it but it's early in the morning so it means time for coffee [Music] okay smell of good coffee in the morning usually wakes up my good mate Ryan and today was no different but he was seeming a lot more refreshed than usual [Music] hey good morning my man how are you yeah good man how was your first night in luxury ah man you know but it's so nice to wake up in like a different experience because that's what it is for me I think the whole process of this adventure has been about different experiences and it's so nice to wake up in our camp it's actually so nice to be able to crawl up into a new tent new Rooftop tent last night sleep in a new rooftop today to wake up this morning I had they've got a sky window it's a step it's going to Sky window when you look up into the stars um just yeah just really really nice our bloody neighbors they were flipping noisy hey and I tell you you know what people respect other people in campsites you know just don't don't make so much noise it's simple just just keep it down respect other people's privacy and you know noise tolerance levels you're in a campsite you're sharing it with lots of people but not to be too negative I'm gonna make my famous coffee that Ed loves he's not getting one though I'm making just for me so I'm gonna let the two out of ten already he gives it a two out of ten but you know what let the Day begin and uh man we're here you know change it last night let me tell you something guys the bush sounds were amazing we had Scopes hyena so many hyena Scopes we we at any given time you could hit eight different Scopes I don't know if it's like a breeding season for them or hunting I don't know there was just something going on pill spotted ah no Lander but yes I'll tell you this place let's make that cup of coffee and we're gonna cook up a nice bacon and eggs and mushroom breakfast on a new bit of Kit I've got I've Got the icamper Disco kitchen unit they call it I think uh it's basically a Scuttle but a high class premium Squirtle and it's the first time I'm using it so looking forward to it [Music] foreign we don't often have time to enjoy a good breakfast but when we do have a good cook up we don't mess around [Music] thank you [Music] foreign after completing what we needed to in the morning it was time to head out on our first game drive a beautiful afternoon drive along the Tropic of Capricorn Loop so we are on our afternoon Drive and uh the game viewing has been pretty quiet because the bush is just so thick but we have taken an old favorite Tropic of Capricorn Loop it's a little bit more open in places so hopefully the thick bush doesn't hamper the viewing so yeah let's see [Music] [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] [Laughter] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] where the main water hole is on the Tropic of Capricorn Loop and I have never seen anything like it the amount of zebra that was there was just incredible hey wow and animals in general Cory busted elephant sesame wildebeest zebra yellant very far away sure certainly delivering and there's few better places I can think of spending a Sunday afternoon [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] what a phenomenal afternoon drive and as the sun was setting it was time to go to a very very special place close to tenzie [Music] [Music] so we're here at chupandani Hyde to watch the Sun go down a couple of crocodiles and just an absolutely peaceful scene eh wow on the Teensy River so sunrise and sunset I can highly recommend coming to shupandani hard [Music] [Music] that's Rebecca tenzie offer an awesome Drive and I forgot to take out meat getting really bad at this taking off meat thing so it's uh under the Bonnet again [Music] on the tepid cover perfect spot it's a really nice steak from Impala Butchery in northcliff they are quite expensive but their meat is just brilliant I enjoy having good food out in the bush [Music] what an awesome day a huge part of changi's magic or the bird and Wildlife calls it's amazing to hear the yellow-built hornballs going off this late in the evening right so we've had a great day we keep on saying it but it's just been awesome in the cruiser and I was just chatting to Ryan last night and we've been here a few times but we've never experienced tingy like this and that is because of the scop Spells I mean normally they go off but last night it was just insane it was like 10 different Scopes I was going off I must say it's great to be back in the 100 series with all the Dual battery set up and everything I've got going here because I don't have anything in the 200 at the moment with the red oak manager 30 and the two enotech lithium batteries it's actually been an interesting ride because what happened in the Echo is I lost the batteries in the Echo they were about to explode so I took them out so I actually don't have a battery system in there at the moment but I'm running this AO Miro 69 liter as well as the angle Combi the ATV to Combi off the red Arc and inertech system so I'm running two fridges plus I'm running a light on the car I'm running this light I'm running three lights on the trailer and last night it ran all of that and this morning was at 69 I mean that is just absolutely unbelievable but anyways I don't want to bore you guys the only reason I'm here to grab a couple of beers I'm going to sit around the fire and enjoy the scop's house thanks John thank you [Music] yeah this is the first time Ryan's cooking on an adventure let's go on an adventure cooking with rice with the inches don't forget it yeah Ryan introduce yourself to the people and I'm Ryan Crocker and this is cooking with 4x4 beaches [Music] one spicy [Music] [Applause] it really doesn't get any better than this a great meal out in the African bush and a visit from one of tenzie's residence cops owls [Music] [Music] right so the wind came up last night it's actually pretty scary at one point I got out to check the awning and stuff all did really well but it was prop a proper proper wind but it is over cost which means it's cooler which hopefully means we'll see some animals early morning drive we've made a coffee let's head out to the Tropic of Capricorn [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] early morning what we've done is we've headed south towards the taba and then taking the turn left along the s50 and what that'll do is take us North to the Tropic of Capricorn just a different way this this road is pretty fruitful we're trying to stick to the open areas you know where where the animals are so we're heading up to Tropic of Capricorn it's much cooler today and I must just say it is just so nice waking up in the morning and not having to worry about my batteries that are running the fridges and stuff you know this morning I ran both fridges fair enough it's a lot cooler but both fridges are one side fridge one side freezer now freezing uses a lot more power than just refrigerating so running two of them plus that fishing pole light and the lights in the trailer the whole night and the battery was at 70 percent keep in mind I got two lithiums 210 amp hours so two 105 amp hours from inner Tech and the redarc manager 30 and it's just a game changer and hopefully you'll be sorted for the next 10 years it's just awesome not having to worry about it I've always worried about Battery Systems so yeah I just need to get it sorted in the 200 and in the trailer and we'll be happy but it definitely adds an element to the trip that I don't have to worry and I've always got back up so yeah but let's go find some Wildlife it's a very you know windy overcast day and Kruger Wow might get some rain anyways let's enjoy it over the past 25 years we've had some really windy days in Kruger but this one takes the cake foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] thank you we must have just missed this kill and the Predators definitely eluded us on this trip to tenzi but it's important to remember this isn't the zoo this is the African bush it really is luck of the draw and sometimes you have to head back to camp and appreciate the smaller things to enjoy your trip [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign it's been the perfect temperature for an afternoon nap so I think I clocked out for about two hours and we're just going to start the fire earlier and you guys might have noticed I haven't used my gas fire starter which I absolutely love yet and this is the reason why normally I don't use fire lighters because I can't really ignite the wood it's normally heavy wood and sometimes a little bit wet the fire lighters don't get it going but my mate Andre sent me these highlighters champ fire lighters I use them at storms River they were amazing and they get the more Pony wood going so let's get it stopped [Music] okay [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Bush campsite a place I highly recommend and behind me he's gone let's try that again you know one of the the most amazing things about any campsite but in particular the tenzie bush campsite is The Nightlife it's absolutely fantastic we just had Scopes are if I say two meters up in a tree right by the fire now we're standing here we've got a chameleon in the tree which stands out almost white when you shine a torch on it the nightlife here at this time of the year being March absolutely incredible there's no place I'd rather be than right here at tenzie Bush campsite right so on the menu tonight now we love lamb chops Ryan now big fans and there's just nothing better than a good Lamb Chop but our good mate Heinrich who is actually joining us later on the trip taught us is to cut up some lemons squeeze some lemon juice salted pepper on the chops while you're buying them and turning them over and then he's got the sauce Jimmy's sauce it is amazing you don't use too much but afterwards after you've actually bryed the chops you Chuck the chops in a container as well as this you shake them about leave them for 10 minutes best lamb chops you'll ever have but enough of that let's cut up some lemons and make a lacquer lacquer dinner and what you're also going to do is complement the lamb chops with a great bottle of red wine a Merlot from creation Wines in the Western Cape near hermanus a great wine and it's going to be an awesome evening we always say that but there's just no other way to explain it thank you this is our final evening in Teensy unfortunately but it proved to be another great one [Music] [Music] thank you foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] thank you foreign classy fellas tonight and just enjoy the Kruger National Park [Music] foreign [Music] we spend our final few moments in this incredible campsite with our good friend Roger [Music] well it's just been awesome to be back at tenzie Roger I've been coming here since 2013 and just thank you from everyone that's ever stayed at cenzi for making it an incredible experience it's just every time I come here it gets better but what makes Sensei special this time of year March oh actually Eddie let me talk about one thing that we always I mean do you have in a camp you know especially a house that we're having at night and the night sounds you know even in the daytime you can also hear for the birds calling and everything so it's it's it makes this a a account special just because are we hearing a lot of people that they are the badass as well so we even if they're not badass they can change when they enter this placement yeah well thank you Roger we appreciate you and we'll see you next time oh thanks Eddie thanks it's nice to see you back again 100 yeah so please when you leave today but I know that you we always um I'm an Avenue all the time here sometimes you know what happened that makes me happy sometimes you just come without letting us know that you you did book for the place and then you just say Georgia I'm with you I've got three nights I've got two nights thank you [Music] all right what happened [Music] [Music] right so we've left tenzi unfortunately man I hate leaving that place Roger and Elena are just amazing they make the stay really special just very good friends very good people and uh yeah anyways we are not leaving Kruger today which is the good news we are heading up north to Punda Maria and we are taking the road along the LA bambo mountain range it is an absolutely stunning Road following the mountain range and uh there is a stunning Viewpoint along the Route as well as a Dam called gretvlay and critvlay is a stunning Dam very fruitful in the dry months dry winter months because it's the only area with water for kilometers so um we'll definitely pull in there I'm not sure what it'll produce today with all the water lying around but it's just stunning the Kruger is looking amazing the grass is green the clouds are out the mountains are green wow just just great good [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] we start the climb to the summit of yet another stunning Kruger viewpoint [Music] [Music] thank you what a view overlooking the mopani forest of central Kruger this really is a privilege foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] and so the tribes have been very quiet in terms of game I have the general stuff I have never seen so many zebra and wildebeest in Kruger it's been insane but what's really nice about this drive is the closer you get to shinwetzi it uh brings you closer to the shinwetzi river and the drive along the shinwetzi here with these massive trees is just something else like I said bush is thick so wild wildlife viewing or game viewing hasn't been amazing but it forces you to appreciate all your surroundings and the beauty of of the other things like the trees you know really is just a privilege you know it's difficult to watch where you're driving because you're just looking up at these incredible incredible trees and maybe you see something in the shinwetzi river but yeah I think we're gonna make a b line for Punta Maria is getting pretty late already we've been taking our time and enjoying but you know we're gonna you know run out of time eventually and we still want to try and do the mpongola loop up towards babalala picnic spot between and maybe we're going to stop at chinweti for a bite to eat a bit peckish and uh didn't really pack too many snacks so yeah we'll stop at the restaurant get a chicken and mayo toasted chicken mayo enjoy a cold beverage and enjoy the rest of the drive up north [Music] arriving at Pune Maria later in the afternoon isn't ideal as the campsites are first come first serve and the best ones are along the fence [Music] all right [Music] [Applause] the real advantage of having the eye camper on top of the echo5 is for the one or two night stays I can literally just pitch the tent in minutes [Music] foreign [Music] and uh unfortunately all the fence lights are taken but we are here for two nights and some lovely people kindly said we're leaving tomorrow so you can have our side tomorrow morning when they leave so we just set up in a basic site for tonight and then tomorrow we'll move on to the fence but yeah just great to be back at Punta Maria the water Hall is there in the background and uh no the monkeys are Next Level they already got into the 100 series and grab some rolls but anyways yeah they're also are chasing the crested Guinea files away for some other reason it is amazing to have crested unified in the camp though some of my favorite birds and we're just gonna chill and enjoy Putnam Maria's Magic [Music] just three days into the trip and I'd already shot over 300 gigs of footage but the Lacy rugged drives make a light work of this thank you [Music] we move campsites and set up at Pune Maria's best [Laughter] [Music] Honda Maria is a stunning camp in Far Northern Kruger surrounded by huge Mountains and the bird and Wildlife viewing from your camping chair is just amazing [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign foreign [Laughter] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] so we moved campsite to the best campsite at Buena Maria we are right on the fence fences you can see I'm not a tall filler you can see the fence High behind me is the water hole Marabou stalk elephant zebra Impala you name it so we decided just to chill tomorrow this is not the end of the trip tomorrow we actually head out and head to mapungubwe I haven't been there in around two years so looking forward to that but right now it's time to enjoy a cold one around the fire foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] okay even though this campsite is fenced this elephant is just meters away this is really close to the campsites you get in Botswana and what a privilege it is soak it up and enjoy it [Music] a huge thank you to my patreons for making this trip and all these videos possible and thank you for watching coming up in the next episode we explore this stunning pafuri area in Kruger and then leave the Kruger National Park on the way to mapungubwe thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music]
