Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
One of my favorite videos is the one where Jesse is trying his best to place the shelves in the garage: https://streamable.com/lz73p
Homey don't do simple and fast.
Five videos minimum. Whole lot of plumbing, leveling, and squaring involved...ain't gonna happen...cuz grampa's Ship Framing Square is under the Tyvek drain, maybe, or in the compost heap, and the $800 Bosch Laser Level is broke after the garage door lighting install.
They wouldn't build garage shelving because they'd rather buy shelving which then they can promote via amazon links and earn money. Everything is a cash grab to them.
I love the Whites. Simple stuff that looks good. Their small house in one summer series is how it should be done... and that girl loves her some pocket holes.
From the thumbnail, appears screwed together and to the wall? Not a huge fan. Workshop areas (assuming that's what it is from the crude 2x shelving) tend to gather large, heavy things and weight can add up quickly. Without rabbiting the supports, all that weight is in shear on the the screws (or nails). Based on the seam I can see on the bottom shelf, they ripped the ply lengthwise, which puts fewer plys across the gap. Topshelf looks to only have a single cross brace.
Adding blocking behind the uprights and between shelves on the wall would also work to transfer the weight to the floor. Cross cut the ply so the maximum number of plys is across the gap and add bracing where the edges butt each other.
Now if it's just for boxes of xmas decorations and sleeping bags,... nevermind.
