The Best Ferrari F355 Build

[Music] so [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] yo what's up youtube dave here you are watching studio motors today is our 355 episode with our new lighting on it let there be light baby thank you to the guys at morimoto for creating such a dope product for getting it out to us so quickly we've upgraded all the lights on the exterior of the [Music] 355 back tail lights of our 355 are completely swapped out with these super cool modern leds from morimoto made specifically for ferraris today we got them in the 355 we got them running they look incredible it's reversible and it's a plug-and-play system from morimoto i did the install myself over here with a little bit of help from a friend it's not super hard if you took this to some kind of shop to do it for you they'd knock it out in no time maybe an hour hour and a half max one of my fears of putting these on were are these lights going to be so modern that it doesn't fit the look but here's the crazy thing the design of the 355 is so timeless it's so perfect it kind of looks like somebody created a brand new modern retro car nothing but compliments for these lights as i've been driving around since the install happy with these i love them morimoto thank you guys so much matt thank you brother [Music] [Music] [Music] this is the original 355 tail light okay and if we hold it next to this right here i mean it is such a night and day difference on the car it's literally basically a lens cover and then you got bulbs inside that's it this thing is oh my god it's so intricate and how it works how it blinks they're bright they're crisp it looks phenomenal but look at this look at the difference of this compared to this like it's night and day and the fact that r355 is a super clean one like the paint's immaculate on this thing it's a very beautiful speck i love my 355 when it is time a long time from now for me to get rid of this car and find a new home for it the next buyer could have the peace of mind that what i've done to the car is reversible nothing's damaged and take it back to stock so that's very important so if you do any upgrades like that to a car like this make sure you keep all the original components they are definitely worth a lot of money and also you want to be able to reverse this stuff so that's the comparison guys it's night and day i am so stoked about this and i can't wait to light them up and show you but before we light up the tails and show you those let me show you the front end of the car and how cool that looks [Music] it took me a while but i found some clear european lenses for the reflectors and the running lights on the car so this is the headlight this is the running light and this is the blinker on the corner over here and this is your fogs down here all of these are upgraded to leds from morimoto but besides upgrading to leds these lenses when i bought the car it's a us-spec car right so these shipped with orange lenses and it looks terrible and it took me forever to find these clear european lenses and i am embarrassed by how much i had to pay to get my hands on these things but it's a car that deserves that it's a car that i wanted to bring back using original ferrari parts on it as much as possible and we achieved that the difference in how the front end looks what the clear lenses versus the orange ones is another night and day difference here's what came off of the car guys so take a look at this and how orange that is and how much extra amber and warmth it adds to the front end of the car where the car doesn't need it the only reason we had these oranges on there is for the u.s spec cars also i'll tell you what else i can't change on it and i'm pissed about it this acts as a turn signal and as a reflector on the side european cars again didn't have this this was just flush but in america we have a cutout over here the problem is because the european cars didn't have this there is no ferrari replacement for this to be a clear lens this has to be figured out and it's gonna bother me until i do [Music] these look so much crisper and so much brighter than what was in here it was such a huge improvement and how bad the ferrari's lighting was before this upgrade there is no visibility issue whatsoever in the car you could have the running lights on fog lights on or off the headlights alone are enough to give you modern lighting for today's cars on today's roads all these things are important and i'm babying the car and thinking about the littlest stuff but at night driving i'm getting horrible visibility so safety is super important especially if you value your investment this is an occur to me it's a piece of art created by ferrari and pin and farina there is no difference between this and a hundred and fifty thousand dollar painting that you hang on a wall in an office or a home or in your collection what's the difference this is my piece of art people come and look at it in here i drive it on the street i enjoy my art and i drive it around and people in the world enjoy it as well and it's all about protecting your art [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] these things look so cool it's such a crisp red ring around the lights you get a little bit of light leaking inside the white area but the prominent area that's lit up is just the ring around it from this corner it looks good from straight behind it looks good any corner the car looks really really good with these tail lights there's more of a 488 type of a taillight but the thing is the 488 came with single lights on both sides so it's kind of odd seeing that 458 style tail light but it's double and it's on the back of a more slate flatter looking ferrari it's just retro as hell man it's crazy it's one of my favorite ferraris the 355 my all-time favorite being the f40 and to be able to do this and make it completely reversible to bring it into the future to where i feel like i have a modern car it's got that modern vibe with a retro feel to it man i am so excited about this let's start off with just the brakes here we go turn signals so this is what reverse looks like guys there we go super super bright reverse with the
