how's it going everyone my name is Paul McGovern  Jr and today we're talking about the gvm gr82d   slider this is a beautiful slider it's going  to give you crisp clean smooth shots right   out of the box super user friendly so if you're  doing commercials if you're doing product reviews   if you're doing short films sketches if you're  shooting just Home Videos you wanted them to make   them look a little more cinematic you should check  out this slider now I've done an unboxing for this   product and you can check that video out right  up here it'll show you what it comes with how it   comes out of the box and the case that it comes  with so this video is going to be talking about   how you set it up my thoughts on it some uses of  it how I've used it in a short little sketch that   I made exclusively for this video and my thoughts  on it pros and cons and without further Ado let's   talk about how you set this bad boy up first off  your slider comes with a ball head on this ball   head you'll have a mounting plate to safely remove  the mounting plate from the ball head with that   mounting plate you're going to connect that safely  to the bottom of your camera so you can connect   that to your slider later on next you're going  to put your ball head on the slider gonna bring   your slider up on something a flat surface a table  whatever you can get make sure that it's nice and   steady and sturdy and you're going to screw on the  ball head as tight as you can make it on the base   plate of the slider now when it's on the slider  each of the three or four knobs that are on the   ball header on your ball head will do something  different do when we'll loosen the ball so you can   move the camera and steady it however you want you  can move it up move it down paint it left paint it   right so take a second and play with the different  knob so you can kind of see what each one does now   if you're going to use your slider on a tripod  you're going to want to put your tripod mounting   plate on the slider before you put the camera on  of course so you flip over your slider somewhere   safe some are sturdy you put the tripod's mounting  plate on the bottom of your slider nice and tight   so that it's nice and safe when you do put it on  a tripod later on once the tripod's mounting plate   is on your slider you can flip over rear slider  and you have your ball head still on there and   you're now going to put your camera on your slider  now I have the strap still on my camera you could   take the strap off for safety I just had it on  because I was doing this kind of quick for the   tutorial I would recommend taking off the camera  strap if you're able to and this slider is wired   there is a wireless version this one is wire  that I'm talking about so next you're going to   plug in the remote to the slider into the port  on the right now we have the remote you'll want   to turn it on with the switch in the back to set  the slider you want to go to setting in setting   you'll be able to start the start point of this  ladder wherever you want it to begin go left or   right find that spot hold the center button for  approximately a second to lock that spot and then   to go back to the next page that you were at  hold the center button a little longer to go   back to the previous page so now you can set the  end point then you repeat the steps with the end   point find the spot lock it up go back by holding  the center button a little longer than you would   normally hold it then you'll be back on the main  page there'll be video shot and time lapse for   these purposes is I'm going to show you video shot  time lapse will work the same way but obviously   you'll be taking photos when you're in video shot  there'll be manual mode and auto mode for manual   mode you'll physically be moving the arrows left  or right to move the slider however you want it   for auto mode you could do auto stop or Auto  Loop Auto Stop would take it from point A to   point B from point B to point a loop will take  you back and forth from point A to B A to B A   to B so if you're doing a time lapse if you're  doing a video shoot if you're shooting a podcast   something that you want consistent movement for  back and forth back and forth so you don't have   to interfere at all out of the loops the key the  one I use the most is auto Loop for my projects   again all these settings can be set with time  lapse as well and then to reset the slide and   reset the settings you simply just have to turn  off the remote and the switch in the back now if   you want to make your slider panoramic slider  you twist these knobs One Direction and if you   wanted to make a track decided to assume in  another Direction and if you want to keep it   centered and just keep it back and forth left  and right you keep the pull in the center now   for some options of shots you could do a classic  push in pull out this is where I have a slider   kind of vertical to me and if the cameras is  going back and forth and you could use this for   a variety of different uses some horror films  some dramatic stuff but this is uh one aspect   of the movement right now this is at a hundred  percent which I don't know I would want it to   be faster personally but so this is obviously  left to right panning uh you know you could use   this for a variety of different uses but this is  kind of using almost the full width of the slider   um and uh yeah this is left or right it's like  it's kind of subtle but it's like enough where   it gives you the movement which I kind of dig  and then right here you got your panoramic shot   so you're seeing everything in this room now you  see all the sides that I don't really try to show   um but uh yeah now with this panoramic shot you're  seeing it now we got a bit of a tracking shot here   now it should be trying it should be trying to  go center right here just kind of always keep   like one aspect of this in frame she looks like  it kind of is but probably can make it a little   more accurate so it goes a little extensive on  that end there's definitely some adjustments   that could be made on there for this setting but  this gives you the idea of what you could do as   far as the tracking option and obviously all of  this can be done with time lapse setting as well   it comes with a variety different time lapse  cables which I featured in the unboxing video all right foreign this sketch is done oh it's gonna be a hit well hopefully you enjoyed that little  short entitled deadline because when I'm   on a deadline Nothing Stops me so pros and cons  what I love about this ladder is that it's super   user friendly right out of the box I was able to  kind of set it up put my camera on it and go it   was not difficult at all to set up once you know  you read the instructions for one minute number   two it does really offer nice versatility to your  shots in Your Arsenal of equipment and your shop   making as you saw in the short it does really  give you some smooth nice clean crisp movements   that you wouldn't normally have if you're just  doing handheld or a tripod and number three this   is super affordable I mean honestly for Less 300  you can give yourself some nice cinematic movement   you can't really get I mean honestly I've used an  elder cron one for a shoot before that we rented   and it was kind of a little more complicated  to set up and it did offer some a little more   stability and even cleaner movements in this Dad  but it wasn't that much different for that one   being almost like a thousand dollars and this  one being 300 so for the price that what you're   getting this at it's really an amazing slider for  what you can get it for now some cons the remote   needs an upgrade I mean it is really simplistic  which was nice out of the box feels very like   2000 like three which isn't the worst thing but  it just that's what it feels like to me you could   use an upgrade I wish that the 100 speed was a  little quicker than uh than it actually is now   obviously it's all subjective and maybe you could  speed it up a little bit in post but I wish that   the 100 was a little quicker than it actually is  overall while it's nice that it comes out of the   box kind of already built and it was super easy to  use this structure and like materials themselves   feel weak like the cable that runs across the  rubber knit rubber of it feels weak the carbon   fiber slider itself it just overall I'm glad  it comes with a case because if you're going   from location location it does feel a little like  it could break but as long as you're taking care   of it and then you know you're not throwing  it around in your car and when you get home   it should generally be okay they do offer  now I know a wireless version of this one   so you don't have this giant remote attached to  it so that may be a little more useful for most   people but for the price for this one with the  remote attached works great for me now thank   you so much for watching hopefully this video  has helped you out this letter has been really   a nice addition to my arsenal of equipment and  has really added a lot of diversity to my shot   selection it's really helped me out let me know if  you guys have any questions on the product if you   bought it do you like it do you hate it and what  are there some other sliders that you're looking   at hope you guys all have a wonderful day night  wherever you are and stay tuned for the next one thank you
