The Beginning Of The End! - Mushoku Tensei Volume 24 Light Novel Explained & Review

so in this video I want to talk about volume 24 of the light novels for muku tensei and this is definitely one of those where volume 24 and 25 is a complete package it kind of goes hand in hand especially with volume 24 ending on the Cliffhanger that it did but because of how I review things it's volume by volume I will not start volume 25 until I finish recording this video so it's one of those where it's like ooh where do things go which I definitely have my speculation and I'm pretty sure I'm pretty confident on how that's going to turn out but this is honestly a really amazing volume of the buildup and it it more comes down to a question of like who's going to do the first strike it and obviously in my opinion geese was always going to do the first strike it was very clear because of the man God the edge that he has and the fact that none of them have been able to find geese and that again comes down to the fact that geese is very resourceful but he also has the man God on his side so they have an advantage on that end so rud is to kind of try and plan things out but the the tricky part is is he's trying to accomplish so much all at once and so he's spreading himself out thin with his allies and everything and it is good that he's got strong allies new allies in this volume as well and then also kind of got him backup systems in place but at the same time geese is going to plan ahead for this and they're going to try and strike Rudy down quick and fast and this volume being focused on Rigid which I absolutely love with the serpent and everything I really loved how this volume turned out with that the back story of his people where they've been hiding out the curse that's kind of affecting them which is more just like an illness than anything it's just yeah because of the land that they're in and I do love the way Cliff rolls in and is just like I do feel like he's a little bit egotist like he's still got a bit of a chip on his shoulder but that's just cliff in general Cliff has always got a bit of a a bit of an ego you know he's the genius which he is he is a genius It's just sometimes you don't want to you don't want to make yourself feel the ego is the issue for him and I do wonder if that would ever come back to bite him later on him being too prideful and egotistic could that again I love Cliff I think he's an amazing character I just sometimes think he gets a little bit too ahead of himself but this is the thing he is really smart so it's like he does back it up he he does the Walk The Walk like for all all of the all of the Big Talk he does he actually does back it up it's just my concern is as as he gets maybe into a situation that he might have underestimated that's my concern as him as a character will he bite off more than he can chew which will be interesting to see but I mean we are basically drawing the end to the sort of the series and even with volume 25 then there's 26 and then there's some Side Story volumes I don't really see there being anything else that could maybe challenge Cliff unless there was like some sequel story that does continue on from this like from this point onwards of this major arc that came out later on I just yeah I I doubt that's going to be the case so you've got the whole Max story with rid and then you've got aead helping out and orad kind of been in a predicament where it's like you know he didn't know how to solve this and it's understandable again that's the one thing I do like about the story is it's grounded because anyone would think oh ard's been around for this long he's done all these Loops he should know everything and it's like no not really because there's going to be situations where he may have not thought of something and he is very practical as well so he probably sat there and thought well I can't think of a solution so there probably isn't one so I'm just going to leave it and didn't keep pushing and pushing and pushing but because Rudy attacks the situation from a different angle bringing in people with different qualifications different knowledge and Cliff being Cliff it allows that situation to be resolved but to me it all just felt like one big trap to draw Rudy out into the open along with orad so that geese and his goons can strike when Rudy has his guard down then you've also got the whole V Vita situation uh Abyssal King Vita that honestly was very interesting a little bit of the backstory there but not too much and I like that it does doesn't need to go super deep into the back story just enough for you to understand okay this is who it is Move Along don't drag it out too much which I really commended but the thing that made it really interesting was when Rudy was in that deep state of sleep and he's going through all these different memories and Paul is the character that's kind of protecting him he uses a character that he's most familiar with that he trusts the most and it kept bringing Paul up now it wasn't actually Paul at least maybe the way it words it is is it's the Ring The Ring is the thing that's protecting him and so that's that kind of system and then it pulls a figure that he trusts the most so it's Paul and Paul keeps popping up in all his different dreams of a different sort of parallel possibility and that Paul keeps saying hey you know something's off something's off and it keeps pulling Rudy into the next to the next to the next to the next dream until finally Abyssal King V is killed and finally defeated after all this time as he kind of jumps from body to body as a host I think their original plan was that Abyssal king vle would be the slam dunk but I think geese kind of figured that maybe there was a possibility that something could go wrong so of course he sent his other two Lackey to take a surprise attack which led Rudy's guard down because Rudy was so driven on trying to solve this one big problem and save R and that's the thing Rudy's weakness is rid and his wives and his family and clearly they used that to their advantage and stried when the iron was hot and got him while he was on well very much his guard was down which is a rookie mistake for Rudy Rudy really should not have done that but I have a feeling going into the next volume two individuals that were recruited by the queen uh Queen princess which one everyone you want to use but our little kinky one I think those two boys that were R him are going to Rock up and end up helping him cuz he does lose an arm in the final sort of Battle Front for this volume so I think they're going to rock up and then he falls down the hill uh down to the chasm so I think they will they will be there they will save him he'll be fine you've also got Roxy and AIS at the end realizing that all the portals are down roxxy's freaking out but Aeris is so levelheaded she's so levelheaded she's like it's all right the kids are fine silie will be there and that's the thing AIS just looks at the situation and goes we can't do anything there's no point stressing sfia will be there it will be all right have faith in silia while Roxy is over panicking which just shows by the way that AIS actually has full faith in Sylvia like no question down just like yep she's got it which really shows honestly how amazing AIS is in her confidence and her ability to just sit there and go she's a competent woman she can protect our kids while Roxy is panicking which I'm not saying anything negative about Roxy but Roxy gets a little bit scattered when she's under pressure that's the downside about Roxy as a personality point is that she's very easy to rattle in a very stressful situation while Aris is Battle Harden I mean you got to look at the difference Roxy is a magician AIS is a full-blown Warrior her job is to always stay calm Collective at all points in time and evaluate the situation in the most logical sense sometimes she can be a little bit ditsy and dense in some situation but in these situations she knew sil's got it the other PL other things are in place everything will turn out fine also oh I I mean this will sound weird but I really really really think n and rigid there's got to be some romance there and that sounds weird but it's just again a speculation of mine because it feels like the light novel series is building up on that and again I haven't finished the story so I don't know where it goes for me like maybe it does maybe it doesn't maybe I'm insane but the reason why I'm hesitating on saying that is because I know there'd be controversy on that like n's quite young in the story and rid's quite old like he he's he's an older boy he's been around the block a couple of times he's had a family once before but n there's something about n that she's very much attached to rigid like there's just some like almost Crush like attachment that I feel like's there and and so it makes me wonder if Norm was to get a bit older as The Story Goes On is there a possibility of a romance now again I don't know if that's true or not I'm just speculating based on this attachment that I see in her I know how many volumes are left I just don't know what's in those volumes I've been trying to keep myself out of a lot of that stuff because so many people spoiled the story so I've done pretty well so far but it can be difficult at times though again I definitely think there's potential of a there maybe down in the future now as far as the other stuff goes the one thing that kind of did hit me really hard was Rudy's different relationships like when he was in that dream state there was a lot of different possibility like even one with the with the well the princess or the queen whichever one you want to word it as cuz that's why I kind of Juggle it around because yeah she becomes the queen and technically he becomes a king in one of those dreams and their relationship ship's interesting in that one that one pequ my interest cuz I kind of always wondered like what if Rudy actually just shacked up with the princess instead of like what if silate wasn't ever around and they got together because their relationship that's the thing like it's it's a very interesting relationship of a what if and I just it rattles my mind but it was so so cool to see in that possibility I mean there was a couple of other relationships as well one with a certain cat girl or beast girl sorry I should say and I always say cat girl whenever I see ears like that but one particular Beast Gale I didn't like that side of the sort of the possibility cuz I kind of always thought Rudy and her would always kind of like be constantly you know getting it on in the bed being that she is a beast girl but it's more of a seasonal type thing and then other relationships as well but the princess one was just the one that I I've always wondered the possibility of like what if sfia and all the other girls weren't in the picture and Rudy did just actually shack up with the princess it's just like him becoming a king the responsibilities he has all these different concubines but Rudy's very insecure about it all thinking that the princess doesn't actually really like him but I think there's actually a part in that that if they did get together I think she would actually have actual genuine feelings for him and have feelings for him because of his his ability to be competent and strong as an individual which is what would draw her to him that I actually think makes sense from a romance standpoint it was just out of all the different parallels that was the one that kind of peaked my interest the most mainly also cuz I just have a thing for the princess she's just so so fun as a character like the fact that she is as kinky that she is she's just so charismatic she's just fun like such a well well-written character but all of the masuku tensei characters are super well written it's just some of them are just they kind of stick out more than the others and she is definitely one of those and then of course Rudy's mother kind of being all well and everything and all those other different possibilities of what if he did go what if he didn't go what if they did save what if etc etc like there's so many different possibilities and it it makes Rudy get very attached especially when he actually has to kill his own mother in that different parallel time or dream state I call it different parallel but different dream state it's like that would have really been hard for him to do because he knew he had to do it but he didn't want to do it and that's the whole thing it latches on to a memory that he doesn't want to let go and he doesn't want to do what he wants to do so oh such a good volume such a good volume I'm looking forward to where the story is going to go clearly Rudy is going to be fine I mean oh my God Rudy dies in this this volume and that's the end of the story so I just think those other two are going to be there to save him and then then AIS and Roxy and all that will probably make a rush to Rudy realizing that the Ambush has started and then yeah the whole team will come together and I think they will strike back against geese and those that geese has kind of mustered together to attack him so I'd love to know your thoughts in the comments section down below what did you think of volume 24 of
