"The Amundsen Scott Incident" Creepypasta

a winter journal and day 12 I said I wasn't going to write in this thing I was never really one for Diaries and that way if it gave it to me before I laughed and said that she was going to start one too it would help us cope with one another's absence she cited it I think if she knew I would need it her right is always Diana I didn't write anything down during the summer season too busy I guess I was working and there'll be less to do over the winter I'm told though just keep the place up in Raanana until the next summer season I'll write during the time off the reason I started writing is and they had an annual double feature a couple nights ago it's a tradition here and after all the staff that is in wintering here leaves they watch the thing in the shining back-to-back i watch with them and i couldn't sleep and I had nightmares I felt like a child again being so scared of movies like that so I had to start writing really and there's no one here I feel like I could talk to about this all my good friends had left for the winter there's only a few dozen people here now and I don't really know any of them that well I miss my wife already but dwelling on that will only make the winter seem longer winter journal day 20 remembering to write is going to be a challenge I can tell already and because it wasn't challenging enough living in Antarctica and winner right and getting a regular sleep schedule is even difficult when the night lasts six months it's really great for when you're having nightmares by the way I can't even get in your research Donna I've been monitoring the climate for the past eleven days as part of a study on climate change Monday cold Tuesday called Wednesday cold and so on on the plus side we saw some penguins outside today that's a first and they usually don't come inland this far as some of us were joking about going outside and playing with the Penguins but that senior scientist Joseph Johnston something with a J I'll call him Jon Stannah and gave us a talk about how dangerous I would be I never liked Johnston had no sense of humor a winter Journal day 27 still cold and no change here a penguin had gotten into the station the other day some of the support staff panicked and had us all go check every inch of the station for an unlocked door or a broken wall panel that a penguin could have gotten in through her to make sure that we wouldn't offer use to death and we didn't find anything one of our other scientists Winstead and tried to convince everybody that we should keep ad and Johnston shot that idea down fast he said that we don't have the proper environment to care for a penguin we let it go outside and I watched it for a while it wandered around not going anywhere in particular for about 15 minutes I stopped watching it after that day 35 I'm noticing something about the weather it's still cold obviously and it has been since the winter started it it just keeps getting colder and the temperature has gone down an average of point seven degrees Celsius every day it's currently 47 below probably not indicated for anything major and just things getting worse the penguin got back in today and nobody knows how and the support staff sent us on a hunt for reaches again and but still nothing and walked up to me while I was checking a door he got within a foot of me in Cocteau tada I think it we're wondering what I was doing it I had to wonder what it had thought of the station and of humans it had probably never seen a human before we got it back outside again and when stead didn't help us I think he was serious about keeping it the other day my nightmares are beginning to go away day 45 the temperature continues to drop steadily 57 below today the penguin got in Agana and the staff have had varying reactions obviously if a wild animal keeps getting an ax and there must be a breach but it's only a penguin so how much harm can I do and on and on and Johnson had given up at this point the penguin just comes and goes as it pleases when stead is in love with the thing and he fouls it around the station feeds it interest to play with it sometimes he's named a topper and I can go with that some of the scientists are really confused by topper one of them I think his name was Blackwell said that its plumage doesn't match any known species and that penguins usually don't come this far in London and maybe we found a new species some people aren't even scared about I think the isolation is getting to them it's just a penguin my nightmare self totally cleared up I'm glad I can sleep easy an hour day fifty everybody's warming up to the penguin now huh warming up if only it's only getting colder 61 below zero even Johnston cracks a smile now and then when topper comes up to him and when sets been getting a little weird though some of the scientists want to do some tests check that this penguin really is a new species but Winstead won't let that mutt it's like he's a mother and the Penguins his baby there's something it's kind of cute I wonder what topper thinks about all this day 60 Winston had disappeared everybody's frightened there are footprints leading away from the station why would he run away there are no other humans for miles and Johnston and a few personnel took a snowcat out to look for honor and Johnson said that that sooner they go and the better chance that they'll find went said alive and they'll be back as soon as I can chopper doesn't seem sad about when since disappearance 10 penguins even be sad sometimes I wonder they looked so much like little people sometimes I wonder if they think like little people - or probably not and they're just Birds after all but maybe I hope Winstead it's okay we weren't good friends but he was all right day 67 Winstead still has him back and neither a Johnson in the personnel he took with him I bet topper is going to miss Winstead they were laid two peas in a pod another penguin got in today he looks just like topper and now he has a friend egg gasps [Music] day 75 some more scientists and staff have been disappearing uh I'm sure they're okay and the Penguins will take care of that MA they've taken care of Mia and they're so nice daddy wanna I realized I've been forgetting to take climate measurements 83 below zero today I'm getting tired of the staff running around in a panic all the time I'm sure Winston and John Senden the rest are all okay I'm sure they're having a grand old time I know I am and my dreams are better than ever now I can remember them clearly when I wake up and they always had penguins in that huh Dane idea it hit 100 below a few days ago and it stayed there and there are more penguins now 810 and it's hard to count all of them and I felt a little left out day 100 it's still 100 below I haven't seen any of the support staff in a few days or any of the scientists either a few days how many days I can't remember that's okay though I have new friends dollar-a-day 111 and still 100 below I found a photo of my pocket today it was of me and someone else it was my and my I can't remember the word and I didn't remember who it was either I asked hopper what he thought he told me just to forget the whole thing I trust him and there are more penguins everyday now more and more day 126 it still went on to blow I forgot my name today it was just on the tip of my tongue it slipped right off I asked topper for a new name he just talked at me and I didn't understand and I cried for a while and then I went to sleep I felt better when I woke up and day 144 and it's still 100 below I've started naming the other penguins I think this tall one looks like a wind Stata and a 156 still 100 below Blackwell came by where I work today I couldn't say which Blackwell we had a nice conversation and her at least I did then 164 still went on to below I studied climate change global warming what a joke nothing ever gets warmer who would want that day 202 I forgot to measure the temperature today I hope it's still cold I lost a toe today it didn't hurt I gave it to John Sena he always wanted it anyway day 2 67 too many days too many days have gone by sometimes I miss Blackwell and Winstead in the rest even John Senden the humans and not the Penguins the Penguins are here they're still here they keep me company they talk they're my family now I love that boy that's all for now Diana wants to talk to me about something day 365 has it really been a year that doesn't seem right I made of counted wrong but I hope not it's my first year at the Penguins here's to many more Dave for 45 I think it's my birthday and I wish we had a cake you can't have everything you want though topper told me so Dave for 96 everyone let's go build a snowman Livingstone from David teapots subject the Amundsen Scott incident sir we've completed our initial investigation and there are some things that do Chanel WA and the summer season crew who discovered doctor Dale's body claimed to have seen him alive at the end of last year's summer season but tests of the body confirmed that he died over here three years ago of exposure evidently and not starvation we were unable to locate any of the other members of the winter season crew so at least that part of his journal can be verified we were unable to find any bodies however or any penguins for that matter I recommend further investigation you [Music] [Music] [Music]
