so as literally everyone predicted the acolyte has completely bombed when it comes to audience scores and online critics who I think we can all agree these days are much more trustworthy than established Legacy Media critics and the acolyte has been trashed so badly that Disney have tried to spin the narrative by saying it's the most successful Disney plus release of 2024 a [ __ ] a [ __ ] a [ __ ] [ __ ] however when you dig a Little Deeper you realize that stat means absolutely Jack [ __ ] seeing as the only other big releases this year were Eko which was terrible and X-Men 97 which I personally liked but never once trended on the neelen ratings so when you're saying that the acolyte is the most successful Disney Plus show of 20124 and you can only compare it to Eko and X-Men 997 it becomes pretty obvious that they're just trying to save the Acolyte and are just reaching for any way that they can positively spin this show because at the moment it is being completely ran into the ground and deservingly so because this show just absolutely sucked putting out fires sure yeah okay I guess fire in the acolyte doesn't need oxygen like in other shows because it no longer has the patriarchy holding it back but luckily Disney also have the Hollywood media machine to try and save their product with their predictable reports of quote unquote toxic fans and critics review bombing the acolyte which they try and paint as if it's a campaign led by online trolls obviously referencing the big online critics like nerd rodic and the critical Drinker and so forth but what's hilarious about this is that they literally debunk their own argument in their own article as they go on to reveal that other Star Wars shows which also had diverse leads by the way received higher audience scores so that means that if review bombing by Angry Star Wars fans was triggered by diverse female leads then wouldn't Ahsoka also have a lower audience score so once you start to dig a little deeper and once you just read the article further you start to realize that this argument makes no sense and that yes maybe some people were just reviewing the show without even watching it but clearly it can't all be review bombing when other Star Wars shows with the same amount of diversity is marketed to the same Star Wars fans yet receives a higher audience score and then we can also debunk this claim even further by actually watching the online YouTube reviews from critics of all different perspectives and opinions that directly represent The public's opinion and wouldn't have large followings if they didn't so I'll let you guys judge if any of these reviews seem fueled by bigotry or fueled by some sort of a review bombing campaign its worst crime is it's boring closely followed by humiliating dialogue which is equaled only by acting that would give Madame Webb and those short independent films on the Hub a run for their money and Disney has reduced George Lucas's Star Wars into Bland people in Bland robes doing uninteresting things slowly how the acolytes out and there's something to be said about consistency as it was going down I texted a buddy two letters and someone else I know saw the acolyte he texted me those same two letters those letters are CW this feels like Star Wars on the CW what a completely mess this show is it's built around literally the simplest by the Numbers murder mystery plot complete with twin sister f fatal tropes and everything and somehow still finds a way to it up and it's all held together by Insane coincidences ridiculous contrives and decisions that run contrary to logic and Common Sense something that is kind of a problem and afflicts most of the Star Wars Disney plus stuff Everything feels small now quite clearly multiple critics from multiple perspectives all critiqued the acolyte on Floors that had nothing to do with diversity and it was all valid points I mean damn in my own review I even give examples of the problems that I found with the acolyte where I actually show direct scenes proving what I didn't like about the show show but two positives don't save the 25 negatives that I had with the acolyte from the corny flat dialog to the average effects to some very very very dry performances attack me with all your strength I appreciate your courage young Warrior I have no quarrel with you attack me boring so once again the damage control strategy just seems to be to blame everything on the fans not being good enough as opposed to the product not being good enough when these are the same quote unquote toxic fans and toxic critics that liked Andor despite a diverse lead they also liked furiosa despite a female lead furiosa Amad Max Saga is a solid entertaining action movie with some great set pieces wonderful visual design a refreshingly simple and minimalistic script that accomplishes a lot with very little sharply drawn characters played by very capable actors and a story that helps to flesh out the world laid down in Fury Road a decade earlier and they also liked Dune despite multiple diverse leads so quite clearly just the act of having diversity doesn't start a review bombing campaign and doesn't completely destroy your show and doesn't mean that these quote unquote toxic fans will come out of nowhere and Destroy any chance your show has of success it's becoming more and more clear each and every day day that the only thing that will make your show or movie fail is If the product isn't good if you fail to entertain the fans if you fail to tell a good story that is the only way your show won't succeed and it seems to me that all the fans get it and all we're doing is waiting for companies like Disney to finally realize that the problem is their own content because honestly this whole blame game is just starting to get out of hand with the same strategy literally repeating itself time and time again we get the same reaction to a bad trailer we get the same reports coming from Hollywood media then the show or film comes out it then gets flooded with a bunch of bad reviews and completely tanks and then we get the same reports coming out once again trying to blame the fans for a bad product I just have to ask because there are some of the I'd say extreme Star Wars fans who have made this a conversation on the internet about how they don't want a female director you know what is your take on that I think my take is things get blown out of proportion and the interactions I've ever had with people have been nothing but wonderful and supportive and honestly the day we announced the that I was coming back at celebration last year you cannot imagine the joy but to end the video on a more positive note Disney do look to have some great projects coming up in the near future like Deadpool 3 and Inside Out 2 however I must admit it is still too early to judge as we haven't seen those projects yet but they both definitely look like good ones and I myself am definitely excited for both however let's just hope that following a potential good summer they don't go and ruin it for themselves by doing the same [ __ ] again and releasing crap like this and then trying to pin it on the fans hopefully this is the last time we see it hopefully Disney finally learned their lesson however I just don't think that's the case but what are your thoughts
