- [Strider] Howdy, and
welcome back to Bikini Bottom. There are certainly some
infamous episodes of SpongeBob, but what are the hyper-infamous episodes? The Spongey episodes that made
people vehemently furious. Well, I looked over the ScumBob Wiki and other sites like IMDb to see which are the lowest
rated, most reviled episodes. So, let's check out the 10
most hated SpongeBob episodes, and after I talk about the episodes and why it's hated on the internet, I'll give a bit of my own opinion and what I think of the episodes. So, with that said, let's begin! (lively music)
(bubbles burbling) For number 10. (SpongeBob and Squidward laughing) "SpongeBob's Bad Habit." Now, I get that nail-biting is a real problem for some adults, but this was seen as pretty
ew from start to finish. (SpongeBob groaning) But it's going first on this list because I personally didn't
find this episode that bad to the upcoming ones. I'll discuss some of its
redeeming qualities later. According to the ScumBob Wiki, this is what they call
a super ScumBob episode, and, online, it has a
very poor reputation. According to a review of the
episode from the archive. - [Nin] I don't like this episode at all! It really irritates me, it makes me sick, and it
makes me scream horrifically! I would never watch it again. Viewers and users, please
don't bite your nails! Ugh. - [Strider] I guess this person really didn't like the nail-biting habit. (SpongeBob gnawing) - What do you call that? (SpongeBob gasps) - [Strider] Anyway, I think
there are a few reasons this episode wasn't well-received online. The obvious one being it's kinda gross watching SpongeBob bite his
nails for 12 minutes straight, and even putting that aside,
SpongeBob gnawing on his nails just gets boring kinda quickly, but it's perhaps most
notorious for its second half, where SpongeBob goes on a rampage biting random people's nails. Ugh. (SpongeBob laughing maniacally) - Must bite nails! - [Strider] He's then arrested
by security in Glove World for being another nail biter. I guess it makes sense that they get a lot of people like that in a theme park dedicated to glove lovers. While the episode itself
is known as super ScumBob, its final fingernail biting scene is perhaps the most notorious. Basically, SpongeBob starts biting the nails of his therapist, whom is a giant live action hand. - I'm gonna need therapy for my therapy. - [Strider] Personally, I didn't
find this scene any grosser than the rest of the episode. It actually felt much weirder to me seeing him gnawing on Sandy's nails, but it has some redeeming features. For example, Patrick isn't as annoying as he is in mid-season SpongeBob, and it's not nearly as gross
as something like the splinter. Plus, he calls Sandy when
things get out of hand, so he's not being stupid
mid-season SpongeBob, and, as someone with OCD, I can certainly empathize with
someone having a bad habit, so this one's just an early mention. But, you know, I think
Sandy sums it up pretty well when SpongeBob starts biting his nails from the inside of his mouth. Ugh. - SpongeBob, that's just plain wrong! - [Strider] And for number nine. (Squidward and SpongeBob laughing) "Smooth Jazz at Bikini Bottom." According to the ScumBob Wiki, this is one of the hyper-infamous
SpongeBob episodes. It's like super-infamous, but it's collected all
seven Super Emeralds and gotten 50 rings, and looking at it? Yeah, I get its reputation. From the get-go, I just
couldn't stand this episode, and reviewers didn't
much care for it either. For example, Mathematics101 kept his review short and simple. - [Nin] "Smooth Jazz at
Bikini Bottom" equals hate. Everything was going so well
up until they threw in Patrick. Poorly timed, and Patrick is an especially
unlikeable character! - [Strider] Patrick really wasn't welcomed by Eric Stevenson either. - Although Patrick wasn't
in the episode much, he really came off as
obnoxious and selfish here. The episode would have
been a lot more enjoyable if not for him and his stupidity. Two stars! - [Strider] And I agree. Patrick almost single-handedly ruins it. Look at this annoying fella. I do not like that Patrick Star. I do not like him, Sam I are. His voice actor's good gear, but the character Patrick
is a pain in the rear, and I would not miss
him should he disappear. From start to finish here, Squidward has everything important to
him taken away from him. He starts happy because he's got a ticket
to the Kelpy G jazz concert. Then, of course, Patrick randomly eats it. No reason or consequences. He just randomly eats
it, but, fortunately, SpongeBob manages to win two tickets and generously invites Squidward. So, they go to the concert,
but, of course, somehow, Patrick gets in despite having
no money and no tickets. He then proceeds to eat
Squidward's ticket again, because I guess it was
so funny the first time, or because it just made Squidward happy, and we certainly can't have that! Very kindly, SpongeBob gives
his VIP pass to Squidward, and, yep, you guessed it. Patrick eats it. It's not only stupid. It's
painfully predictable. Within minutes, Squidward
has the concert interrupted, has his seat stolen, and
he's thrown out by security. No matter how much I see it, I just can't find
Squidward's suffering funny, and because I guess they just
needed to kill more time, we get filler as
Squidward desperately begs to try and see his idol backstage, but, of course, his idol likes SpongeBob, who does play the ukulele damn well, but, you know, I think we're
about done with this sad-fest. - But I'm a musician! (bubbles burbling) - [Strider] Number
eight. "The Nitwitting." - What's a brain stem? - [Strider] Oh, wow. This episode
is really not appreciated. It's a relatively recent
episode, too, from 2019. The reviews on IMDb for this
episode were not friendly, consistently scoring 1 out of 10. Ondio said. - [Nin] "The Nitwitting" is something only nitwits would enjoy! - [Strider] Derpi wasn't much nicer. - [Nin] Disgusting! This is just toilet humor for children. - [Strider] DS summed
his review up like this. - [Nin] Very bad episode! So stupid! They should make episodes like past. - [Strider] One reviewer even
thought it was disturbing. - [Nin] Disturbing! The entire episode seems like it's making fun of the disabled. Confused face. - [Strider] And while I do get this angle, let's focus on the gross-out issue, which seemed to be the
main reviewer complaint, because, frankly, I watched
this episode in full for the first time, and I never want to ever
watch this episode again. The best word I can describe
this episode with is gross. Holy cow, is this episode gross. - [Stars] Buddy! Buddy! - [Strider] Start by SpongeBob literally having his brain removed in a gross-out scene that
definitely falls into the uncomfortable territory. (SpongeBob grunts)
(electricity crackles) (SpongeBob babbles) Followed by gratuitous drool scenes, and SpongeBob then proceeds to drink, ugh, a jar of spit in a scene that
literally makes me nauseous thinking about it. - Why? You said drink. - [Strider] SpongeBob is introduced to these nitwit characters by Patrick, and they continue to spread
havoc and terrorize the city. Like, where are the police
during this nitwit city attack? They arrest Puff for just
dropping a single piece of paper, yet they don't arrest these guys for dumping garbage out of cans and causing chaos in the city? At least Sandy comes to
clean up the mess at the end. I swear, she makes any episode better. "The Nitwitting" is
pretty straightforward. Sandbagging and gross-out is
the name of the game here, and it's understandable people find this one
a slog to get through. I'll be happy to never watch it again. Seven, lucky seven.
- I'm waiting, I'm waiting. I'm waiting.
- I'm waiting. I'm waiting. - [SpongeBob and Patrick] We're waiting! - [Griff] Oh my God.
Is it getting louder? - [Strider] When I was researching
the most hated episodes, this one just kept popping up, and multiple members of my community mentioned it on Twitter. Some people even said it was over-hated. Even on the ScumBob Wiki, it falls into the hyper-infamous category. Reviewers on IMDb said. - [Nin] The cursed
trilogy! Annoying alert! I want my seven minutes back! Wow, were these episodes bad! Waiting is the worst SpongeBob
episode ever! It's pointless! It's just about some stupid toy that SpongeBob waits for in the mail. Springy toys are cool, but SpongeBob didn't even
know what the damn thing was. - [Strider] This is a case where it feels like the SpongeBob
creators had budget cuts and they had to make an
episode on the cheap, because little to nothing happens with very few scene changes, yet it takes so long for this
nothing happening to happen. - "Just send in 99 box tops"? - [Strider] So, once he
sends in his coupons, he sits and waits for his
mail, and we watch him wait. We watch him get hungry, and go through the
agonizingly slow process of deciding how to pass the time while they wait for a free
toy in the mail, free to them, but we had to sit through this agony of putting up with this episode. I just don't have an explanation
for an episode this week beyond budget cuts. A budget episode like
this does feel cheap, but it doesn't quite feel as
bad as a clip show episode, but it feels close as it's
using the single one scene in front of SpongeBob's house. - Hiyah! Hey, SpongeBob! Wanna do some karate? - Not now. I'm busy. - [Strider] Eventually,
SpongeBob has a similar breakdown to what I imagine the
viewer is having right now just watching these two. He bursts into tears, questioning the sad state
his life has reached. - I'm a big jerk! - [Strider] But, finally, thank Jeebus, he gets the package, which means we get some
more visual white noise with a long dance to waste some time. Then he gets the toy, breaks it, and then the two go back into
having an emotional breakdown. Anyway, I think you get the picture. It's an episode that is
exactly what its title is, except our waiting is for
the episode to finish, so we need never talk about it again. Number six. "What Ever
Happened To SpongeBob?" AKA, "WhoBob WhatPants." This one's also been reviewed on IMDb, and includes statements such as. - [Nin] The worst SpongeBob special ever! Horrible and very mean-spirited episode! - [Strider] It was also recommended to me by my community on
Twitter, such as by Jbro. - [Nin] I hated this one growing up! - [Strider] In fact,
our buddies at ScumBob didn't label this a super-infamous episode or a hyper-infamous episode. No, this was an ultra-infamous episode! I'm starting to think
the editors of this wiki are as big Sonic the
Hedgehog fans as I am, but I can definitely understand
why this episode is hated. At the beginning of the
episode, every single character has become uncharacteristically
awful to SpongeBob, all for the sake of making
SpongeBob so miserable that he's driven out of town. This sort of situation happens
in bad SpongeBob episodes, where the characters are
changed to fit the story, rather than the story being
changed to fit the characters, and, boy, is this weak writing. Prepare to repeatedly hear perhaps the weakest insult ever conceived. - Idiot boy. - Idiot boy. - [Sandy] Idiot boy. - Idiot boy! - [Strider] I think what people
dislike about this episode is mostly constrained to the first half/ In the second half, when SpongeBob has
exiled himself from town, I actually found myself more
interested in his story. SpongeBob loses his
memory, hence the title, and then proceeds to try various jobs, most of which he's not very good at, but it's just so
refreshing to see SpongeBob outside of Bikini Bottom,
not working as a fry cook, working a different job for once, even if it's just for a while. In the second half, the maliciousness is
certainly toned down as well, as Sandy tries to get
her best friend back. Krabs and Patrick are there too. Obviously, Krabs wants
his money ticket back, though Squidward does everything he can to stop SpongeBob coming back, at least 'til he's bribed. It's an unusual special, and I thought it was at least interesting seeing SpongeBob hanging
out in a different city. He even takes down some gang members and quickly becomes the
mayor of New Kelp City. His friends abduct him back and he gets another blow to the head, but I like that he tries
to go back and be the mayor even when he gets his old
memories, but, of course, plot contrivances mean he's
better off staying a fry cook. How cool would that be though? Even if it was just for a few episodes, have SpongeBob be the mayor
instead of just a fry cook. But perhaps this episode
is most infamous of all for one particular scene, known as the morbid SpongeBob scene, where we get this grotesque and highly memed face of SpongeBob. While walking to New Kelp City, Spongey asks a fish, "Is there
something wrong with me?" The fish runs away in terror, because, apparently,
SpongeBob looked like this. You've probably seen this picture before on thumbnails or memes. Personally, I've never used it because I think it looks
freaking disgusting, but the artists clearly
had a lot of fun with this. Poor SpongeBob just looks
terrible, and this was considered one of the most disturbing
scenes in the show, and, I mean, yeah, it is a bit gross, but, personally, I was okay with it. I just think poor Spongey clearly needs some shelter and a shower,
and maybe a good dental plan. (food squelches) And for number five. (SpongeBob and Squidward laughing) "Pet or Pests." Hey! What do you know? We have another hyper-infamous
SpongeBob episode! Why? Well, judging by the giant revolting-looking
worm Spongey's holding, I can take a few guesses. - It's just a little worm. See? - [Strider] To figure
out what's going on here, the ScumBob Wiki does give us some good feedback from viewers. Let's see what they have to say. - [Nin] I hate this episode so much! Disturbing and gross episode!
I give it a 1 out of 10! I had to look away because
the green slime was gross! Yuck! Second worst episode of
the entire show in my opinion! - [Strider] And, yeah, gross is definitely the
name of the game here. To summarize, SpongeBob adopts a worm. He brings the worm home, and the worm lays eggs overnight
and releases offspring. Ew. Then he has to try and
give these worm larvae away. Doesn't that just sound enchanting? - No! - [Strider] I think, apart
from the gross-out factor, people just seemed bored by this episode. There's no real jokes here. We're just repeatedly shown
the same stupid setup. The first half is just Gary and the worm fighting
whenever they see each other. - It looks like they're still
not quite used to each other. - Well, these things take time. - [Strider] Oh, yeah! I guess I should just give the
local bird-eating tiger snake some time in the same room
with those birds I saw. I'm sure, if I give them time, the snake definitely won't eat the birds. They'll just get along swimmingly. But then the rest of the episode is just SpongeBob trying to
give these worm babies away, and, understandably, everyone
thinks they're gross, but perhaps the most notorious
example of sandbagging in the entire series? The dreaded doorbell scene, which is literally just SpongeBob holding down a doorbell
for half a minute straight with nothing else happening. (doorbell ringing) I do hope someone laughed at that joke, because that was long. What is he even doing? He's not blind, and Puff is clearly there
at the door waiting for him. But you know what I actually
liked about this episode? Weirdly, Patrick. He's strangely calm and
eloquent in this episode. - That sounds delightful. - [Strider] I swear, his IQ
jumps like 50 points here, bringing his total IQ to 50. Anyway, combine sandbagging
with serious gross-out, and you get yourself a super-hated hyper-infamous
SpongeBob episode. - Well, it's like they always say back in the old country, lad. - What's that? - I don't know. I've never
been to the old country. - [Strider] And what's at
number four? "Face Freeze." "Face Freeze" was recommended
a lot by my community. According to The Chill. - [Nin] In "Face Freeze,"
they made disturbing faces! - [Strider] And, yeah,
that's about all we get. SpongeBob and Patrick make a bet to see who can hold a quote-unquote
"funny face" the longest, but, as a result, their
faces freeze in place. - I can't move my face at all. - Oh, I can't move my face either! - All right! We did it! - [Strider] Seriously, this
episode is about as complex as hearing a goose honk
at you for 10 minutes. (goose honking) Only less touching and beautiful,
and just more annoying. Gooses are awesome. We have another for the ranks of the hyper-infamous ScumBob episodes. The ScumBob Wiki listed
its main reasons being that it's boring and disturbing, and I can agree that some of these faces get kinda uncomfortable
to continuously look at, but, interestingly, a lot of people are very
split on this episode. It's certainly got people
who vehemently hate it, but it also has a small
following of people who like the episode, such as Sagebroda. - [Nin] To be honest,
I thought it was funny. - [Strider] Followed by
multiple less forgiving reviews, such as these. - [Nin] SpongeBob nightmare fuel! Worst episode of SpogeBob! It's boring and it's not even funny! It's like saying "I rock
in my chair" 100 times and it's immediate funny. Okay, writers of SponeBob. Stop making SpongeBob go
to the Krusty Krab so much! And coming in number three. (Squidward and SpongeBob laughing) "Penny Foolish." When the notorious season six began, this was among its first
real garbage pile episodes. It's maddeningly slow-paced,
and plot contrivances a-hoy. - Please, tell me more. - [Strider] I hope someone out there find Krabs being money-grubbing funny, because that's all he'll be
doing for the next 11 minutes. I can't personally call
this one offensively bad. It's just too dull to be offensive, but let's see what people
on the internet thought. Well, I agreed most with
Waluigi Kart's comment. - [Nin] This is the first episode that's terrible from beginning to end. - [Strider] I get what they mean. From beginning to end, it feels like we're
being shown visual noise. Krabs slowly empties SpongeBob's pockets, dangles him by the legs
until his brain falls out. Then the two just spend
a little more filler time chasing his brain around the Krusty Krab, because, apparently, Spongey's
brain is a spider now. (SpongeBob softly murmurs) - Uh. - [Strider] And Squidward isn't even just bored in this episode. That would be interesting. In this, he's just dead inside. (construction rumbling)
- Me too. - You think we should walk
out back to investigate? - Never. - You might as well
replace him with a statue. At 11 minutes, I find
most season six episodes could be compressed
into maybe four minutes, but, at 11 minutes, season six episodes are
just torturously long. It wouldn't be so bad if
they had anything to say, but they're just so vapid. This has to be among the most boring episodes of
SpongeBob I've ever seen. I'm sorry. I just need some catharsis. What did other people think of this? Well, some people gave it
just below average reviews. - [Nin] Second worst episode,
after "Face Freeze." F-minus! - [Strider] Honestly, this episode was barely mentioned by the community, but I made a weasel call and included it, because, personally, I can't stand it. - I didn't think so. - [Strider] Number two. "Big Sister Sam." Did you know Patrick has
a big sister called Sam who sounds exactly like him? - You, sister Sam! - [Strider] Here, we once again step into the ultra-infamous SpongeBob episodes, which I'm assuming are
more infamous than hyper, because Ultra Sonic is more
powerful than Hyper Sonic. I'm assuming that's how this works. I don't know. They're
not loved either way. According the ScumBob Wiki, it's considered a ScumBob episode because Sam tortures everybody
and breaks their homes. The whole thing's outlandish and Patrick just does nothing about it. Let's see what some of the
reviewers had to say about it. - [Nin] Oh my God! What
did I just watch today? 1 out of 10. Unacceptable episode! - Unacceptable! - [Nin] I never knew Patrick
torture episode existed! - [Strider] And, finally, a comment from another Fandom user. - [Nin] Honey, this doesn't make sense. - [Strider] Sure it
does. Just give it a try. - [Nin] Well, all right. - [Nin] Please uncleany, but. (Nin speaking gibberish) - [Strider] Huh. Okay, sorry. Maybe you're right, but they clearly didn't like the episode, and I guess that's all we're
really trying to establish. It's a very thin, meandering story. The dialogue's weak as water, and it's mostly just Sister Sam getting mad and swinging
around in her mood, but I personally didn't
consider it insultingly bad. There's definitely worse episodes to me. I'm honestly just more
fascinated by the fact that Patrick has a super-powered hulk sister, but perhaps the most tragic
and cruel part of this episode, Squidward makes the lovely Sam cry! He makes fun of her and
she bursts into tears. (Sam sobbing) Shame, Squidward. Sam
is a delicate flower. Anyway, my best guess is,
as the IMDb reviews show, it was put beside one of the best modern
episodes, "Perfect Chemistry," and the contrast between a hilarious, brilliantly written episode and a mediocre, boring,
irritating episode, the whole thing's like
watching a bad comedian who's bombing continually, driving home a bad joke for
an additional five minutes even though the music has
long since called them off, and, you know, I know I've encountered
a bad SpongeBob episode when I feel so un-invested
by the entire thing that, by the end, I
just find myself saying, "Oh, thank Jeebus, it's over." And, sadly, Sam's rampage
left that impression on me. And before we get to number one, let's go through some honorable
and dishonorable mentions. This is where I'll include all the hated episodes I've
previously talked about, with a couple of exceptions. For the honorable mentions, "To SquarePants or Not To SquarePants." Okay, I have no idea why
this was so badly rated, because the second half is
freaking hilarious to me when SpongeBob comes back as RoundPants and he willingly becomes
Squidward's understudy. That is perfect. (lively music) (garbage clatters) (Strider chuckling) How could people hate
that? That was brilliant. For an infamous episode,
I laughed a lot at this. And that's it! Now on to
the dishonorable mentions. "Choir Boys." Oh, dear. This Squidward episode has
a horrendous reputation, and it's definitely among what I consider the
worst Squidward episodes, mainly for being so slow-paced and just killing time endlessly. Squidward needs to get to his audition, and with SpongeBob's help, he'll make sure to take forever to do it. (SpongeBob coughing) (SpongeBob vocalizes) "Yours, Mine and Mine." Patrick is known as a bad character mainly because of episodes like these, but, here, he becomes
hyper-selfish, and, more than ever, this episode leaves me
pondering the question, why does SpongeBob put up with Patrick? - Patrick, that's my money. - Have you learned nothing about sharing? "Driven to Tears." People tend to say "Yours, Mine and Mine"
is two friends bickering, but "Driven to Tears" is two friends being absolute
scumbags to each other. Somehow, we're never explained how, Patrick gets his license. He wins a car and then rubs
it in SpongeBob's face, but SpongeBob is also pretty
awful back to Patrick. - Officer, it is my civic duty to report that the driver
of this vehicle is speeding. Why don't you clock him
with your radar gun? - [Strider] You know, the series has just never a built a particularly
compelling argument for SpongeBob spending his
time with this guy has it. Sandy's right there at the tree dome, man. You're her best friend.
She's waiting for you. "Dumped." Here, Patrick unknowingly has something in his pocket that Gary wants, so Gary starts hanging with
him until he can get it back. Patrick is, as usual, a
cold-hearted, horrible friend. He basically steals Gary right
from under SpongeBob's nose, and then is somehow
still a scumbag about it. I'd call this one ultra-infamous. I just can't stand it. "To Love A Patty." According to the ScumBob Wiki, This falls into the
hyper-infamous category. SpongeBob gets way too physically
intimate with a burger, and we basically watch
his descent into insanity as he begins to date the hunk of meat. Now, he's free to do what he wants, but I do still think maybe it's time SpongeBob starts at least looking for a girlfriend. Ahem. Anyway. "Little Yellow Book." Squidward finds SpongeBob's diary, and he starts reading it
out loud in the Krusty Krab. Squidward is a jerk in this episode and that's about the sum of it. Moving on. "Truth or Square." This special actually got
classified ultra-infamous by the ScumBob Wiki. Personally, I've never
found the episode that bad, but I've also certainly never felt an inclination to re-watch it. It seems to be hated for being a special with a ton of filler. Apparently people found it boring too. It has Tom Kenny in some
Patchy segments too, which is always a treat, but he feels a little more
awkward than usual here. A lot of fans didn't seem to
like the celebrity cameos. Yeah, it's a little
boring, but, personally, I consider most of the other
entries here way worse. "SpongeBob, You're Fired." I've covered it before twice, and I'm sure you've heard it
from other animator reviewers. SpongeBob is very out of character and the episode's about as
fun as a hole in the head. Anyway, with those said, onto number one. And, for number one, well, we're
gonna break the rules a bit and do something a bit different, because there are more multiple
strong competitors here for the most hated episode of all. So, I've compiled the top six super-duper-hyper-ultra-infamous
ScumBob episodes. - Say what? - [Strider] That's right. I did a top list inside a top list. I seem to be getting weirder,
and, for accuracy purposes, this will include ones I've mentioned before in previous videos. I'll give a brief, more up-to-date version of what I think of them now,
five to seven years later. Number six. "Stuck in the Wringer." This could well be the
most hated episode of all. - This is not going well. - [Strider] What people seem to hate the most about this episode was the backwards moral of it, and just how awful
everyone was to SpongeBob. Personally, I found watching Spongey be tortured in this stupid wringer thing severely unpleasant, and
age has just not given me any more patience for Patrick's
cruelty and stupidity. - There you go, buddy!
Now you're stuck forever! - [Strider] Number five. "The Splinter." Yes, I'm sorry for bringing it up as well, but this is among the most
hated episodes of all time, so I have to at least mention it. We'll exclude the really
gruesome footage though. I'm more interested in covering why people hate this episode so much. On IMDb reviews, AH described it this way. - [Nin] Horrifying! I rewatched this as an adult and it's still just as
disturbing and disgusting. I don't know how this episode can be aimed at children at all. - [Strider] And GoodPopcorn
wasn't much kinder. - [Nin] It's a gross episode! It disturbs the heck out of me when I see his splinter
gets bigger and bigger. - [Strider] Yep, people didn't much care for seeing SpongeBob get
a festering splinter, yet alone seeing it get horribly infected by his idiot friend Patrick. It's just a total gross-out
upped to the 10th degree. - Oh, merciful Neptune! - [Strider] Number four.
"Demolition Doofus." A hyper-infamous Puff torture episode, but I call it ultra-infamous, because, fun fact, this
is my personal choice for my least favorite SpongeBob episode. Why? I just can't stand
Puff torture episodes. I really can't. It's deeply unpleasant to me seeing this poor woman
tormented endlessly. Fortunately, in newer seasons, she's a lot more well-treated. Anyway, IMDb describes the episode as, "Mrs. Puff finally finds a use for SpongeBob's reckless driving and enters him in the Demolition Derby!" That is about the most
sugar-coated, out-right description I've ever heard. Perhaps a more accurate
description would be, "Mrs. Puff is left permanently handicapped by SpongeBob in a car crash, and amidst her isolated,
tortured fury in the dark, she vows to kill SpongeBob." Anyway, you get the picture. My least favorite episode. Moving on. - Now, everything's back to normal! - [Strider] Number
three. "I'm With Stupid." This is the first animated episode I can remember hearing
the term gaslighting in. Basically, when someone
manipulates another person to make them question their own sanity, but it's hard to fully summarize just how hated this episode
is by everyone, I think. I have never met someone who
actually likes this episode. You probably know this story. Patrick's fake parents come to visit and he tries to impress them by asking SpongeBob to act stupid. It's silly and just
beyond maddeningly awful, and just straight-up frustrating to watch. - And don't worry. I'll
keep this warm for you. - [Strider] And next are the two absolutely lowest-rated
episodes I could find in all of SpongeBob. "One Coarse Meal." You've probably heard of it before. It comes in at a shockingly low score
of 3.5 out of 10 on IMDb. Krabs finds out that
Plankton's afraid of whales, so he dresses up like one to
scare the life out of Plankton. I mean, what makes it awful? I mean, there's the obvious
maliciousness of Krabs in this episode, and
how discomforting it is to see Plankton slowly
sent into madness and fear but, interestingly, people also noted that it doesn't make sense in the story either. Kaimoney pointed this out in his review. - [Nin] Plankton has met Pearl before and he wasn't scared of her! - [Strider] Oh, yeah. I mean, I know SpongeBob isn't exactly known for it's plot consistency, but that seems like a
giant enough plot hole to drive a mad truck through. - Make it stop! Make it stop! (Plankton laughing)
(Mr. Krabs sobbing) - [Strider] And, finally, for number one. "A Pal For Gary." Yep, as far as I can see, this is the absolute lowest
rated SpongeBob on all of IMDb, even beating "One Coarse Meal"'s 3.5 with an abysmal score of 3.2. - That's rough, buddy. - [Strider] The website describes it as, "SpongeBob brings Gary a
pet that terrorizes him." Yep. Even IMDb can't
frilly up this description. What's fascinating to me about the viewer responses on this episode is just how horrified they
sound when describing it. For example. - [Nin] The horror, the horror! Bruh. Oh my God! Dreadful! - [Strider] And, finally. - [Nin] "A Pal For Gary"
is the worst thing ever! - [Strider] Well, personally, I'd say unvaccinated smallpox was
a bit worse, but you know. But you can certainly
see that this episode has left not just an impact, but a freaking crater on
the history of SpongeBob. - What do you have to say for yourself? - And, with that, we've reached the end of our
journey through Bikini Bottom. If you would like me to step back into SpongeBob's world
again in the future, please do let me know, and any recommendations
for SpongeBob videos you'd like to see me do. I do like chatting food,
restaurants, rumors, and other miscellaneous topics, but I understand that, back in the day, some people subscribed for cartoon videos, and I'll at least do my best to keep talking about my
favorite cartoon, SpongeBob. And, as always, thanks for watching, and, hopefully, I might see you next time. - [Boo] Bye-bye! - [Strider] Today's member
question is from Nancy E Finn. They ask, "What is your favorite
SpongeBob episode of all time?" Well, that's a tough one
for me to nail down to one. Most people already know
that seasons one to three have tons of re-watchable
classics, so I tend to focus on some of my favorites from later seasons, like "Sanitation Insanity,"
"Girls' Night Out," "Squid Noir," "Krusty Kleaners,"
and "Scavenger Pants," but that's just to name a few. I really like a lot of the
modern SpongeBob episodes.
