[Music] this is the last time i'm going to be in this room without a little boy living in this house with us so the last night this bed will go we will go to sleep with this bed empty so that is pretty exciting we leave at 8 am in the morning and we have been killing ourselves getting packed i literally have hardly combed my hair for like four days i've just washed it and thrown it up on top of my head so my sister olivia is coming to the rescue and i'm going to get a shower wash my hair and she's going to come over and curl my hair for the airport in the morning she's actually doing it tonight and then i'll go to sleep and we can get up and go so this is last night what are you doing doing a baggage check so that we do not have to be re-packing these in the airport because they're overweight if you don't have one of these get you get you one of these handy-dandy luggage scales oh i think we're good on that one how much is it like 49.9 oh man i'm pretty sure this one's 49.92 this one is yours [Music] what is it we've got some last minute drama this is take two [Music] yep what are we right around 49.6 okay well this baby with culprit i tried to squeeze in more hand sanitizer because you know covered and it was not having it all right so we're all 49 pounds in all of our suitcases not a it's called great hardly announced despair cute little tags theo has blue tags mommy has pink tags and daddy has navy tags and our room has exploded we are working on all our suitcases another carry-on and daddy has blue tags let's do this i put theo's coat out for my mom because it's going to be like in the 90s in in thailand but when we get home it's going to be beginning to march and theo has never experienced cooler or cold weather before so i've got his coat sitting here so my mom can bring it to the airport just in case it's nice and chilly so we're about ready to roll i can't believe it we've got all five suitcases packed they're all 49 pounds and we're ready uh i've got the best sister ever she's doing right doing my hair curling my hair for me before i go to sleep so i can just get up and go because we have to get up at three o'clock in the morning so this will last me a while is that how you're doing your hair like that yeah i'm gonna leave the bun on top what do you think we did it how many seconds do we have one two four five wow seems a bit excessive but 32 days and you can't really shop seems kind of necessary courtney are you ready uh kinda i gotta get dressed though how you doing i'm dressed you feeling good yeah are you ready for me to start taking the black ones you get this um and then there's something energetic at what time is it 3 45 hallelujah yeah we got suitcases in the hall bill's loading all the suitcases for them they're in there five suitcases and a carrier and two carry-ons all right courtney dad has all the luggage loaded what are you doing i'm checking my packing list to make sure i got everything they'll disorganize too before we leave because otherwise it ain't happening if we leave here and we don't so you have a list on your phone and uh check it out looking at packing this thing what is the paint for that the pink is like different bags carry-on toiletries and then main bag so you know what's in every one yep well i hope i you're packing this laptop you got mine did you get the scissors for just in case we need to trim this hair okay um [Music] we got it okay we're done we got it done got it here we go can't believe it [Music] it's about 4 13 a.m if not there's dragon ball and we are headed to the airport ah i can't believe it wow we can't see you at all [Music] here got five see i want you to take pictures of us with their secrets i can't believe this is happening we're pulling up to the airport right now we are here and we have many many many suitcases my mom is here helping us carry all the suitcases oh this is crazy [Music] they just made it through courtney had all the paperwork perfectly good and no hiccups or problems in any way every bag was underweight or at least right on the money 50 pounds and a nice sweet lady to check them in so michael a little pressure falling a little pressure lifted there yeah that was actually pretty really seamless we'll check them again in korea do you want anything from this starbucks here before you go through security i'm good i'll wait till we go through so i can keep it and take it on the plane all right i'm signing off your five suitcases are loaded i can't believe it did you say that it was so easy i mean it was way harder to get the documents than to get them approved this is the departing committee so we just got finished checking in got our all our bags checked in we're ready to go through security just hanging out with our parents before we head through security i cannot believe how easy that was it took literally months to get all those documents ready to be able to go into thailand during covid and it took her like five minutes to check our documents so hard work we had it all right no no problems and now we got to get them checked again once we get to korea and the good news is we made every one of our bags 50 pounds even we can't bring anything else back except you so this is michael's mother janice metz and tell us how you're feeling oh man i'm excited and scared and but mostly excited yeah i'm really excited that when i get home i'm going to mark off in my prayer journal answers to prayer from the negative coca tests of this day arriving yes yes especially this week this week so we as their mothers send them off in peace because we know that god has worked every detail out so i'm not too worried are you no i'm not no this that remember that song i don't know you guys may have sung it before um be still my soul yes my god undertake to guide the future as he has the past wow i kept singing that in the shower this morning well um this is a good day this is very juicy day this is a god ordained day from a to z from beginning to end and this has been a long time in coming and so i say um don't worry don't stress i'm at peace and y'all are my kids i'm a complete peace knowing that god has got this god's in the details not the devil god's in the details and so everything we just finished your luggage ordeal which could have been crazy with document after document and i don't know that i've ever seen anything any smoother and partly because you guys are so organized and secondly because god is going before you behind you he's surrounded and so i'm excited i mean just go get the baby and bring it home to us and this is uh michael's mom so she's with me she's like let's get this let's get that little boy here well just try to get some rest because you are definitely going to be tired after you get theo so take it into two weeks and rest and have fun play games read books rejuvenate and then when you get theo have fun again and you couldn't find two mothers that love their kids any more than we do no and we're gonna pray like crazy for you every day every day covering you in prayer yes this morning every time i woke up i pray for you guys for your safety and god's got this he's he's got it you guys i feel so at peace this morning words of wisdom from the dads we're partying words of wisdom words of wisdom are you ready ready parting words of wisdom okay so watch the zippers on your carry-on [Laughter] carry on on the carry-on because i'm telling you those zippers come and then courtney's will cause a atomic explosion i mean that thing is so full it will hurt people to the back of the plane you got any parting words of wisdom i guess just please be careful and have a good time all right please come back for the good we will do our best [Music] bye but happy [Music] ready as ready as you'll ever be do this i'm excited but i'm also a pack mule now i'm so happy [Music] to get on our flight to seoul south korea and then needless to say we're going to be tired after 22 hours of flights but bring it uh on just made it to our gate we're stopping to fill up our water bottles for the fight but i got me a starbucks i got two hours of sleep last night [Music] we are sitting in atlanta waiting to get on our flight to seoul south korea i'm already hot got my sweater off we had to make a run for it we only had we were really worried about making it and we actually made it in a pretty good time so got our temperature checked we're all checked in we realized this backpack is way too heavy and i gotta get another rolling carry out i'll be buying one in thailand we'll put that on a list of what not to do for future travels [Music] well thankfully you don't have to carry it for a 15 hour flight you can just set it under the seat or overhead there we go [Music] [Music] after 15 hours but actually they just told us it was gonna be a 14 hour flight so it saved us an hour we're happy with that we'll take that okay here we come south korea enjoying my mini jers jerry garcia ice cream just the right size too it's dying friendly we're gonna try to get some sleep let's see if we can find michael hold up claustrophobic we are about three hours out we've been able to sleep a little and a little he slept less than me i've slept quite a bit um yeah but delta is awesome these big scenes are amazing and we're going to miss them on our next flight we just have economy going to uh uh going to bangkok but yeah we're doing good so far it's going well so we're about to land in south korea we came down through here and this is north korea and i took a nice detour around north korea so we landed in south korea and we're just pulling up to our gate right now and we're gonna get off and stretch our legs i need to walk yeah honestly though it was a really good fight yeah this was actually a really good fight we slept on and off we were really having a hard time going to sleep so it was great and the food was good they plenty of snacks thanks to my mom he's cheering for comfy so very very good we had little foot rest for our feet and they leaned back really far it was good it was a good fight [Music] is it here or something or something but it's um 2 am at home so we're kind of feeling it michael's especially crashing i don't feel too bad but i'm ready for bed pretty soon [Music] out waiting for our flight to bangkok we're about to be on the same soil as our son in the same country for the first time ever here we go [Music] we're getting ready to go through immigration but they're just special distances check our kobe test etc i'm putting these on my shoes [Music] [Music] we finally made it we're in bangkok at our quarantine hotel give us a little uh first meal yes what are you eating tomato cheese something toasted yeah good give us a little summary of our entrance into thailand a lot of checkpoints a lot of paperwork a lot of temperature checks but now we're going to eat and we're going to try to sleep it's 1 00 am so 1 15 maybe all right
