texas a m to receive the kick from cayden davis and we are underway here at neeland stadium and it will be a touch back [Applause] play action on first down looking field and now bailey out of the pocket and gets tripped up back at the 22-yard line jaden peavy holding defense number 16. 10 yards previous spot results in the first down that late flag drops out that's a break for tennessee there goes the swiss army knife anaya smith in motion looking his way instead a long throw to the sideline and that is perfect to hezekiah jones that's a gain of 14 more and another texas a m first out kell this game down seven early come on straight back to throw again well protected another strike to hezekiah jones and that looks to be good for 11 yards another first down for texas a m back in 2018 and missed the rest of that season he thought his career might be over back-to-back seasons 2000 2019 and 20. and now he's on the verge of being an nfl draft pick spoke to him this week he's matured the right way [Applause] bailly off play action looking downfield once again under some pressure comes back and finds a check down and coming back once again to help out the quarterback as promised just a great story bailey on third down pumps once that ball comes out sideways and it is scooped up it looks like by darnell wright the right tackle will they rule that a fumble or was that an incomplete pass [Applause] anaya smith with a fair catch at the 31-yard line for texas a m they've been the catchy version [Applause] kellen monde out of the pocket a bobbled ball but that is held on to by weidermeyer for about five yards all right so acc championship game to be extremely close up the middle it's spiller he's a yard shy of a first down sent with an ohio state loss here's spiller he picks up the first down and i guess my question would be how is it that there's still a fix over us bond out of an empty backfield and that is a low throw and it looks like it was knocked away important that's why i said off the very top you know these 13 committee members they are watching very closely intently to see exactly what this a m team looks like you need to look good doing it third down and six here comes the blitz ma swings to a wide open spiller a blown coverage for the vols and the composure of kellen monde eventually recognized it and isaiah spiller has a big first down day that's exactly right watch the pressure come off the edge what i like is he doesn't blink he doesn't blink he holds it long as he possibly can there's nobody there with isaiah spiller there are man-to-man coverage and he just gets loaded spiller empties the backfield gets another five-man rush making the catches anaya smith just enough leverage on jalen mccullough this case screen out to hezekiah jones and that one goes backwards that might end the quarter bond just gets the snap off swing pass to spiller he's got a lane gets to the sticks breaks a tackle and easily picks up another third down conversion here comes the blitz it gets picked up mon throws very close to the end zone to wider meyer he's out of bounds it's first and goal inside the five at the four yard line with just a simple corner route and passes thrown on time and on target from kellen to his favorite target jalen watermeier spiller with a cut back and gets turned back at about the two-yard line it'll be second down and goal dangerous 10. spiller at the goal line reaches the ball out and he's in for the a m touchdown and texas a m takes the lead [Applause] see if spiller breaks his plane here good physical running at the goal line clearly reaches it across in the sec and number nine in america in time of possession as well so all week have heard hey trevor lawrence is back the first meeting doesn't count you're getting the real clemson today we'll see here's bayless jones he's got speed to the sideline dangerous return mate and a good one now close to the 38-yard line a late flag illegal block in the back kicking [Music] jt shroud now take no check that it is harrison bailey at quarterback and a quick handoff and a quick first down carry for todd chandler gonna have a great opportunity chan three yard baby looks like four-man rush for texas a m bailey right at the first down line to gain and it looks to be just good enough to tie chandler bailey off play action gets hit and the ball pops out that's ruled a fumble there's a scramble for it and it looks like it's aggies football it is andre white gets the recovery to marvin liao all over harrison bailey and it's a take away for the aggies but de marvin liao one of the more talented defensive linemen in all the sec his play is really starting to skyrocket watch him right here off the edge he's just going to work here and continue to get going works down as he sees the puller comes across gets outside of him works through him and a big hit on harrison bailey as he tries to get rid of the football and that's one thing is you've watched harrison bailey on that it was well we're gonna find out very quickly the ruling on the field stands first down texas a m and rogers i guess i got my quick answer right when you make that call on the field the precedent is set tough to overturn yeah i think it is very tough to overturn their pass rush has been impactful spiller breaks a tackle in the backfield should have been a tackle for loss and instead it is close to a first down run a gain of nine yards for isaiah spiller quinn he was limited in fall camp and not trying to make excuses for him but that should come with time the more snaps he gets this time spiller's not breaking the tackle of alante taylor so it will be a third down but can make that big of a jump unless absolute chaos ensues staying perfect on third down texas a m anaya smith makes them five for five nia smith such a crisp route runner and watch this pass go right through the hands of tohuto who's just trying to read the quarterback's eye only a three-man rush patient finds a check down hezekiah jones he's got about six and a half i'll tell you not sit well with me they run the option monde on a keeper to the 10-yard line it's first and goal really the number one yards per carry a rushing attack in all the sec [Applause] underneath it'll be second down and goal and it's the way this team jimbo fishers built it inside out physicality toughness at the line of scrimmage there's some physicality and toughness from that defense for the balls cheers now we'll see water meyer in motion he's going to tuck it under and he will tennessee defense against the short field it's missed a wide open anaya smith and it will come out to the 25-yard line for tennessee it's time for our all right if you're not in a conference you don't play in a conference championship game very good point [Applause] jet sweeping around to bayless jones and he's got nine yards and we have the quarterback change the jt shroud in the game chandler that's a first down we talked to jeremy pruitt in there so this is my chance to see shroud and bailey and on a rollout wide open pass that's a hook up to cedric tillman so a good move for he's shown some bright spots here late in the season play action well protected trout's going to take a deep shot for the goal line looking for the same target in cedric tillman does he have it there's a flag down as well it's a touchdown for tennessee what a catch by cedric tillman lays out and finds paydirt the play calling for jim chaney is so different when harrison bailey's in the game and jt shroud as we just mentioned expect to see a more vertical passing attack down the field that's exactly what we see there the speed on the outside of cedric tillman he gets behind picking on once again brian george who's in for miles jones does he complete the process of the catch i didn't see much movement no buzz down and no point after either as toby wilson misses for the first time he previously had been seven for seven and there will normally be very comfortable with four minutes on the clock and a couple of timeouts and that's what they've got after we check in with matt hey [Applause] on the here spiller empties the backfield four-man rush mon low throw he intended for smith short hops it incomplete there's a flag in the offensive backfield i think they're gonna get hands to the face on the defender from tennessee on kellen maughan rusher comes up and just as kelaman delivers the football hand gets up in the face mask area and is it deandre johnson again [Music] personal foul unnecessary reference 13 of the defense hands to the face of the quarterback 15 yard penalty automatic first down that's a killer penalty not what the senior wants on senior day he gets up there he gets a hold of that face mask i know he doesn't like it but i think that's the right call bob i guess he feels like he was reaching up for the football but of alive so that's a huge penalty costly costly mods deep shot down the sideline he drops it in hezekiah jones holds on gets blown up by mccullough and still it is a completion of the 28-yard line cover two and a bullet pass fits it in just taking advantage of that ray johnson already with his degree in communications the first college graduate on his dad's side of the family as well as the espn app so tennessee will keep it conservative here and hand one off to d beckwith and that should end the first half so texas a m deferred their option to the third quarter and they do score before the end of the half and kelanman will have the ball to begin the second half as well 24-13 jimbo fishers team in a must-win spot they lead tennessee by 11 communities if this game holds as well as the big ten championship holds the aggies can only take care of their business they are doing just that try to pound this football in the second half and get back to their identity as a run team monde swings one wide open jalen preston cuts inside and he's got about eight the way this aggie team does monde runs the option fakes the pitch he's got a first down and more calaman near midfield before he's brought down and this is what i'm talking about start today with no miles jones we'll see if they continue to attack him draw play to chandler and he's dragged down quickly by de marvin liao shroud there's some arm strength he whizzed that one over the head of todd chandler and just rushed four and still get pressure shroud's gonna lob one up the scene and reaching up to make the catch is josh palmer a third down conversion for the balls out across the 45-yard line and receiver on the team josh chandler go up and make a play gain of 25 and they want another chunk play that's incomplete palmer the intended receiver it was man for man coverage with brian george there's probably about 15 percent capacity right now here at neeland stadium and it just sounded like a sellout they didn't they like that oh we're looking for a flag here here he'll hand one off good hit by alante taylor she was right into the theron college station third down and two here comes the blitz bullets one over the middle to chase lane who gets free lane with a stiff arm thrown down all the way inside the 40 at the tennessee 36. you called it out it was a blitz how about the protection the pocket we talked so much about this offensive line look at the boys look at this right here he's got all day to survey the field locate chase lane over the middle and then chase lane for 36. for ten on third down now option again this time the pitch to spiller nice one-on-one tackle is made by trayvon flowers miller stays in the game in spite of looking a little gimpy mahant looks his way again he makes another catch to the 17-yard line for to the backside that bunk set to the top of the screen can be confusing mont he's also tough to corral and this time he takes on the hit of bryce thompson and is able to muscle his way for a first down no quarterback slide there [Applause] quarterback run again blockers out in front down to the six yard line [Applause] false start on weidermeyer because we came into today false start offense number 85 five-yard penalty second down of all the things now it's second down at 10 after the penalty at the 11-yard line ellen ma quarterback draw nothing there nice job by aubrey anaya smith at the bottom of your screen in the right slot bullets one of the end zone and it's intercepted picked off by flowers down the sideline check that picked off by taylor ed taylor is able to get to midfield after hurdling a man and not only does tennessee get the red zone stopped they're gonna take away and they are in business out near midfield got the ball at their own 45-yard line play action for jt shroud fires a rifle shot and that's almost intercepted jalen jones had it in his hands but clearly he was thrown to the front pylon no receiver in sight shroud gets to the sideline tight ropes and picks up a couple of yards goes in motion makes it a bunch set to the near side and a flag is thrown it'll be a false start false start offense number five five yard penalty remains third down and then bring a blitz it will be another false start called against tennessee [Applause] false start offense number eight five yard penalty third down 18 after the penalties jumping in the neutral zone was tyree johnson he got away with it shroud bullets one over the middle bobbled ball it's incomplete it was in the hands of josh palmer and he couldn't hold on that looked like a terrific throw from jt shroud it was on the move he steps up as the pastors gets around him locates palmer and the sure-handed senior receiver false start paxton brooks barely gets it away and it's another good punt it's going to hop well done for tennessee they'll down it inside the 12-yard line isaiah spiller both in the backfield and on first down to throw check that they'll tuck it under and run he will pay the price at about the 18-yard line picks up [Applause] spiller a yard watch football playoff birth we'll see let's take a look at this week's college football playoff rankings brought to you by a t 5g ohio state just got to the red zone and missed a field goal they continue to trail northwestern by four so is it this simple pablo shoes and dusty dvoracek quinn kesnick set for the start of the fourth quarter is it as simple as texas a m takes care of business for 15 minutes northwestern pulls off an upset and you're in i think so i can't say it definitively but i think so they still got work to handle this fourth quarter third down them three to start the fourth quarter [Applause] showing pressure down to five here comes the blitz monde over the middle sliding catch is me first down out to the 25-yard line breaking tackles isaiah spiller jackson rips the ball spiller tries to turn the corner gets to the first down line to gain [Applause] so much could happen between now and when those final rankings are revealed spiller on a cutback after the injury timeout he's got nine more yards for texas a m we use for those graphics so feels like they're getting in if they win and ohio state loses spiller on a cutback picks up about two yards you start to think i mean everything is kind of aligning setting up perfectly for these aggies helen mondo play action floats one up the seam wider meyer it's a 50-50 ball and as usual jalen weidermeier wins the battle all the way down to the 25-yard line well this is the matchup they want to get weiner meyer on the linebacker corvarius couch and this is a mismatch crouch gets beat by the head fake inside weidermeyer goes up brings it in and a big first down play action for kellen mond again in the right flat he's got ryan renick fights for extra real estate he's got nine yards peggy's wedding straight ahead run for spiller he's got the first down and again they are doing this in classic texas a m style friend doesn't mean worse it's unique spiller inside the 10 down to about the 9-yard line like do you think in that committee room or just in college football in general there's a bias or maybe a lack of understanding of the way texas a m plays where you look at the pinball machine offensive numbers that some teams put up and there's just a natural inclination to think those teams are better than a team that plays this way i think we all i think everybody falls victim to getting wild by big offense by high scoring games right and this is different this is that's not the way texas a m approaches uh this is not the way jimbo fisher given his team and his structure the way they play and there shouldn't be a bias but i think in some ways there definitely is here's anaya smith inside the five down close to the gola it is first and goal inside the one stop just short full back one of the best running backs in the sec selfless to help this offense he'll block for a nice smith and a nice fit will score again touchdown a m and they extend their lead that's the exclamation point that texas a m was looking for unable to cap off their previous drive with the turnover a point after is good isaiah spiller with a rushing touchdown kellen and the buckeyes the buckeyes have just scored so it is a lead now and then could find themselves in the top four harrison bailey is back in at quarterback and this handoff on the delay to tie chandler picks up a first down [Applause] bailey extending the play trying to get away and he cannot now he will be thrown down by bobby brown bailey there just holding on to the football too long plagued him early on the game and extension early in the season and then fire him later in the season i mean what was it if he was good enough to give him an extension during the eight game winning streak is he not good enough to come back direction rest season as harrison daley drops to throw and again sees the rush coming and tries to take off picks up a yard on third down and long so it will be fourth down smith deep to receive and the rugby kick from brooks will roll down to the 28-yard line what he thought his team needed to accomplish today and they'll start this drop with spiller jitterbugging his way for seven yards on first down and we asked him i thought he handled all that with class and dignity there's anaya smith using speed breaking tackles slides down inbounds as we check in with quinn it's today and that's definitely something this aggie football team is adhering to currently and they are staying true to their nature just grinding it out battering ram up the middle again now he obviously sucked up to the texas a m fans he knew would be watching he had clemson out we all gave respect to cincinnati over the two lost teams that were ranked ahead of them we'll see what happens though based on that good stuff dusty can can uh vouch for me i have i've had a m at the four spot for a long time clemson's only beaten one team with a winning record okay if clemson beats notre dame they leap frog a m into that fourth spot but until they do they're getting a lot of credit for beating the teams like the citadel syracuse wake and virginia and the acc is as top-heavy as it has been all these years north carolina's probably the next best team behind the top two and that's there's not a lot there what a move by anaya smith with the stiff arm anaya smith down inside the 10-yard line before he's run out first and goal at the nine it's a nice hole off the left side and an outstanding piece of running as you see get behind 65 dad more he gets a kick out block and anaya smith in the open field is dangerous anaya smith brought down right at the line of scrimmage in college station anaya smith running behind spiller as the fullback and runs into him smith again driving his legs down inside the five getting a push and they'll say he was down at the four-yard line 44-14 and after the timeout rather than try and tack on the touchdown and go for those style points he's gonna send seth small out for a chip shot field goal and make it 34-13 with a minute 16 to go that disparity in plays that's about as fast as i think i've seen you know 78 plays to 30. wouldn't make sense really any other way and again closing out this season on the road at auburn for two taking on number three already this season number two beat number three as this ball is short hopped from jt shroud we'll continue on it but if what if notre dame loses by 21 24 points today well based on the point spread the most likely out room between texas a m and notre dame if notre dame beat beat a clemson team at home with clemson's backup quarterback in the do they want to annoy and put that team in the playoff to play alabama here's a catch by palmer and he's across the 50-yard line this a m team is in a different place than they were previously but it's going to be a fascinating debate one way or the other shroud oh he gets hit hard jayden peavy i see things another and that holds true within this 13-person committee [Applause] down to the last 13 seconds to the sideline he'll heave one into the end zone and it looks like that will be intercepted by brian george a little vengeance there for brian george remember as the game started today this is the guy who had the start in place of miles jones who wasn't available and especially in the first half they went at brian george and winner brian george and they're able to get the better of him and i would say as the number five team in the college football playoff rankings will will they still be number five when the final rankings come out tomorrow who knows but it's a 34-13 win in the season finale for texas a m we still have a lot of football left to be played as we've talked about that's going to probably ultimately determine how true of an opportunity texas a m has to get into that top four but they did their job here today bob they did what they needed to do a decisive victory and dominant fashion and i said from the very beginning of this game they need to put an exclamation point on this season and show this committee who and what texas a m football is and by my estimation they've done that here today yeah we started the day saying that they needed to win today and look good doing it i think jimbo fisher's team won today and looked pretty good doing it so they will end the season at 8-1 having won seven games in a row [Music] let's head down to quit [Applause] [Music] coach what was most responsible for for today's win all season the off-season the things we did when everybody else was going crazy i mean all the skeptics our guys stayed together played hard and are tough our toughness our toughness and competitiveness why do you think texas a m is deserving of a top four playoff feature let me tell you why we're playing the best league ball we got beat by the number one team in the country who also had another superstar on the team when they played us named waddle people ain't even playing them with him now no team in sec history has never lost one game and been in it the other legs i love them all if we can't play in this league and be in the playoffs something's wrong ohio state is leading 16 to 10 in the fourth quarter you're going to be watching the scoreboard tonight sure we will but everybody listen the people on the on the committees will do their job but this team is very deserving i'm going to tell you that you passed the i test today if you really know football you do congratulations thank you thank you he's been holding that in for a while bob yeah we spoke with jimbo yesterday we asked him similar questions ahead of this game now the floodgates are open now he obviously feels he is deserving and this team is deserving to say exactly what he just said they made their case and we will see how the rest of the day plays out and how
