they claim it's the final word and survival technology today we're going to find out what do we have in here what we have the cheapest survival shovel found on Amazon this will be part 2 of our series of course last week we did the $10 Amazon cam packs this week we're going to be doing the amazing survival shovel let's break right into it we'll go through the contents take a look at the features then we will take it into the rugged mountains of Pacific Northwest for an exhaustive study Oh tests all right so what do we have here let's start from the bottom with lots of things in here how can so many things be crammed into one tool alright so what do we have here so this is the survival shovel this is the base we have a very nice multicam multicam sheath look at that is that a bat it's Batman shovel we have Batman's shovel here and that is nice okay so we have looks like to me stainless steel pretty heavy heavier than I expected the bat I really and really enjoying that unfortunately it's in the metric system will try to overlook that we looks like we have either a fish scaler or some sort of a saw I think you'll probably be better at removing fish scales than sawing if we loosen this up we have look at that we have a wire cutter I have a wire cutter in here with wait for it there's even a piece of hardened steel well at least it's not aluminium screwed in there wire cutter we'll test that we'll see how that works but I have to say that I am very impressed heavy-duty thick-walled nice knurling aluminum handle the copic that is pretty nice with a classic threat currently this locks on there so that pretty much pretty much exhaust those features here see what else we have next to the next section we have of course is what another section here so in this I think I know what it is wait for it I see it already how about a screwdriver because you never know when you might need to tighten the Philips or standard screw in the field that sits in there we're gonna have so go to standard number two Phillips in a standard slotted did alright of course that will fit in there we'll just keep building building as we go alright let's see what's next the next piece is a saw a saw with the silicone chief not only a saw but a blade we've got a blade right there is it sharp nope not really the saw kind of and if we could maybe a fish hook remover got a whole fishing theme going on here alright so this dish in here right it's getting quite long with all of this length it better be strong when we put it to the test alright let's see what's next we keep going we have more how about this how about a as they say generation 2 LED flashlight is that multi modes power level indicator not too bad actually of course SOS strobe flash all of the features figure we got a high and a higher low high this is cool got a magnet the back so at that that's actually pretty handy a magnet so you could stick it on something when you're working it I do kind of like that but it doesn't stop there we have tactical bezel of course could want to get hit in the forehead with that thing and it looks very tactical very tactical and look at this it's rechargeable it's got it looks like it what 18:55 what are those batteries and this is really clever you can charge your cell phone on there so if I look in the case I'll bet I find a USB this is not going to be helped our Apple friends if you have an Android you can recharge your cell phone about that use the same cable cable flip it around that's how you're going to charge the unit right there not too bad all screws nicely inside side of the gold-plated case with a magnet that is cool right there so next we have for those of you guys who work for the airline's you'll be very happy with this we have an airplane cone what do you call those things right there so if we turn this on we can direct aircraft to be convenient and as the aircraft of course you get wave that around at night if you were stuck on the side of the road but it doesn't stop there we've got a white one too how about that so this one here that's pretty good for your tent you could start to get a lanyard on it right hang that from your tent like a little lantern not too shabby all right we'll set this aside here because there's another piece and the final piece the cap I don't see how you can use these two together doesn't seem possible but that aside tomato how about a fire starter about a feral rod look at that take this out we've got a survival whistle it's at work yep it's very loud all right now we've got some paracord there a whole bunch of paracord I think the brochure said for trapping animals you've ever tried trapping animals with a piece of paracord you'll know it's easy anyone can do it go try it okay question is the feral rod is it any good and how would we strike the feral red you need something with a sharp edge on it so if we took it right here let's see we'll use the saw yeah totally possible if we use this the edge of our knife may be better so that's actually not too bad so there's a couple bonus items in here that we'll look at before we get to our test of course we got it looks like probably 25 feet or so of paracord it's very handy to have and this of course is the star of the show what could it be have high hopes for this one I think that this is probably going to work out really really good I think this is a a pocket chainsaw we have a pocket change huh looks dirty too I'm sure this is going to come in handy look at that not exactly robust is it but we will see we will see what else was there anything else did I miss anything no came to the instructions for a horizon tech outdoor multifunction shovel oh it's got a cap lifter of course I missed the cap lifter right there you can just a cap on your favorite bruise there we go hunting trap that's how you do it just like that will work every time like that's it okay the only thing left is to take it out into the field and see how it performs all right let's get started on the ultimate field test I've got my survival shovel on the hip here and just so I don't show any partiality I brought my expert woodsman Bryan behind the camera hey guys to make sure that things are done right alright so Bryan I'm going to give you the list of all of the features it has and you're going to see to it that I perform them correctly so while you're reading that let me start putting my ultimate tool survival shovel together multicam I think they paid license for that probably probably yeah I'm sure they see my deer on the level alright so as I put this together Bryan is going to go through all of the all the capabilities that will hell yeah you just want me to read them what did you choose what always when should we attempt first oh let's do the ho first that oh that one because now I've got one of those old World War two style folding shovels the e2o where you know it can be a hoe or a shovel yeah I love the fact that it could become a hoe because that makes it so much easier did you see the bat I did not see the bat but that's classic yeah is the bat shovel very nice so somebody in China said you know what the Americans they like that they'd really like it if we put that on there all right so actually I'm going to extend it to its maximum length yeah use the hole using the flashlight without also also give us a good test of the durability of the flashlight I like this pouch I just keep it for that yeah so what the flash on there with the tactical bezel did you notice that I did I did actually notice that the machining on that is pretty intricate you know there's got the the cutouts therefore the heat sinking and everything it is very tactical all right I'm ready first test the hoe I'm ready I'm not going to pull any punches here so we'll dig ourselves a little fire line through the roots have to say well loosen up a little bit there let's end up a little bit let me let me I might I might not have had it quite centered right let's try it one more time really going to get after it now it's coming loosen we have to say let's say it to pass what's X Bryant next to us try out the the hammer feature just so happens I've got a couple steaks here I have no doubt never work it does want to loosen up with all these dude don't they yeah mine doesn't I mean it stays tight better than that one too sure but pass next let's cut some wire oh yeah wire you pointed out that they did actually put a hardened steel insert in there well I said feel yeah well and I said hardened which may not be correct either it could be could be so alright so there's actually a piece of fencing over here let's come over here or you come on over here Bryan follow me all us we'll give this a cut okay there it is so you put the wire in here step on it right I don't believe that I'll do it again Wow I have to keep doing it because I'm not believing what I'm seeing look at that this is heavy stuff question is what is the edge look like right yeah let's it was hardened what do you see there I see a little scratch but I don't scuff in but it L see anything it doesn't have any deformation or anything here so what have to say actually that's the path fixer see that's the past and flying colors there next we're going to cut our lunch with this just so happens I brought us some lunch you like summer sausage right oh man all right we got my language we got our stuff I forgot that mustard we got our summer sausage here so it they say that we could use the at the night they're the size of the shovel here to prepare a lunch they were cutting a cucumber and one I see no tear out I see Monza strand cut what do you think actually I work hmm so lunch cutter let's say I spaz yeah I agree you know we should do next Cody what I think we should measure something using the metric system it isn't well we know that doesn't work so that's obviously that was a that's a fail next all right what's next oh let's make a fire a fire yes well you're in luck because it just so happens that I brought some fire lit there's some dryer wait did I tell you there's a whistle no what w it's loud enough doesn't it have to be found no it's not a fox forty but it's pretty it's actually pretty good okay there was a knife in here somewhere if I recall right that's the hardest part actually is finding where everything is inside the handles there well you know when you're lost you need something to keep in mind right okay so we've got the so we'll try it so we've got the Ferro rod here are you ready yeah here can I get it closer with that there we go here you go that how desperate might burn like them all right so we use the saw and the Ferro rod so I'd have to say well it did start a fire that's passed all right what's the next next challenge ooh next all we got to charge up our cell phone cell phone so we could call for help that's right yeah because when I'm lost I always make sure that I have an extra cord all right so apparently things working better than I wanted to do this all right so we've got it we've got our got our iPhone here right and we've got our cord could always have that and be neatly located conveniently located we got a USB port here so this is the the battery the back of the battery for the flash this is right this is the back their battery and I have you know I do it's got a lovely indicator look at the heatsink of that yeah right I was saying that some fairly complicated machining on that like the c-3po of survival tools all right coming close here let's see is it going to charge or is it not going to charge it it's charging well I have to say that that is a unexpected that's a ways up that's maybe a yeah that's that's a win that's a win this is probably the smartest one to save for last I'm have to get my gloves on for this one that kernel idiot or crenelated bezel what we call this credit available credit lated bezel a little hard on the hands alright so we're going to we're going to take down this little white fir tree here that is going to come out anyway okay so serrated - serrator - not the sir oh no the other way the straightedge the other way okay so although you could probably try using a little saw action on the serrated side to try this off against you like that for your two birds so we'll do a we'll do our face cut here another one have said in that's off that's good for anything about 3/4 of an inch let's just do it the old-fashioned way here I would tighten this up here all right you ready I'm ready we're starting the route the bloom is coming off the rose yes it's Oh oh dear so what did we learn here no take the flashlight off first take the flashlight off which I give it lead well you know well you know the leverage I thought we'd want that that is that is asking asking a little bit too much let's put the let's put the ferrule rod on we'll come back to that question is it still charge my phone I hope so it says that it's a second-generation flashlight I I did mention that that that was a 2 2 G okay so not advisable to chop down trees with the flashlight all right let's let's keep after here how many chops was that for I don't know I didn't count coming - coming at the other side it does have it Tennessee - come on Scrooge a little bit you have to kind of keep after it just about what you'd expect top of the tree down with a shovel how long would it last I wouldn't want to make a survival shelter with this no not even one time I would want to I don't want to finish chopping this tree down with this thing it helped like you get to all sides here okay all right so faster than a beaver probably but certainly not a substitute for an extra hatchet how would you rate this no out of ten maybe a oh you mean overall or for chopping yeah I give it a four yeah III would say I would say it's not recommended for a chopper all right better than your bare hands that in your case is it alright what's the bat still okay do you see that yeah holding so I can't see from that angle though he's still there yeah in all honesty I was expecting this thing to be a complete parity it did better than I was expecting especially you know it was really good at digging it was really good and so I knew this when I was swinging with it of course you would not want to swing or chop on it with a flashlight on it we tried to see if it would what would happen and I think it's pretty much what we expected right there probably I could straighten that out and get it going again this is a flashlight still work that's a lot of a lot of impact right there I forget the flashlight and it's a flashlight works we know is probably going to charge your cell phones but so I was wrong on the price I told you no $30 really $29 on Amazon a whole bunch of different ones on there but yeah you know I thought this was going to be kind of the next thing we're going to come out and oh we forgot the most important thing which is the the JEM are the whole deal the thing that I had the most hope in oh this is pocket change ah yes the pocket chainsaw pocket chainsaws I have used I've used several different ones and I wouldn't say that they're I don't know that I'd say that they're completely useless but pretty near and the ones that I use that were completely worthless we're a whole lot bigger than this but who knows maybe the smaller form factor will be a smaller kerf it'll work better we've been surprised so far we have you know so this is back to our stump here so with the pocket chainsaw of course you know unless you have metal hands you want to get a couple sticks preferably not rotten ones like this that you can use but start slowly and then and then you can kind of come into it it takes a lot of calories to run one of these and this is with a softwood binding oh come on come on pocket chains up can you finish it from the other side I guess we were through almost you know they say would he take twice pocket chainsaw heats hundred times okay well really did quit that it's completely useless but the fact of the matter is is it did you got a brown recluse on your lens right there I'm sitting it did cut it well color me surprised I was looking at those cheesy little damned lathes on there good no way these teeth are gonna cut anything okay so I would say everything was a pass except for the metric system which is up no you see what that was certainly a fail but surprised you know here's the deal though in all honesty for $30 it is a it's it's a good shovel it's a good digger a good hoe type of the other thing the wire cutter was actually first-rate it's got a feral rod in it you know I think it's completely totally ridiculous and useless but I was we were totally we were laughing as we were coming down here that this is going to be like the worst fail since the osa survival kit but it's actually not that bad denied saying I was quite surprised by how well it did not not that bad let's be honest with you so alright that will sum up our comprehensive review of the ultimate survival shovel thanks for watching and we'll see you guys on the next video when you get into these with it

Same guy that used a hair companies promotional ”Survival kit” in a review and portrayed it as legitimate cheap-o tool until he was called out that the tool was explicitly advertised as a hair survival gag advertisment and he was intentionally misrepresenting the product.

Wasn't this just posted a couple days ago? I'm starting to get the impression that these aren't organic posts.

Why do Americans hate the metric system so much? I've always found this baffling.
