Testing STARLINK in Philippines | Does it work in Dumaguete?

so I just arrived in the office and I don't know if this is a prank because I just ordered it like three days ago there's no possible way it arrived but look at this what the hell I think this is a prank there's no way it already arrived yeah we just ordered it three days ago they make it easy to open don't they to be fair I'm using one hand you're the worst way can you can you freaking open this thing I think I just spilled somebody's coffee oh my goodness look at this one wow it's not a prank how the hell did this arrive so we just ordered it like two days ago I mean four days ago I thought it was coming from a long way even even their email said uh America yeah four weeks estimated arrival that's it nothing whoa oh my God what is that this is the easiest directions ever it's not like our freaking Ikea shelf three steps yeah do this plug it into this get online sweet it looks like a radius right it's supposed to be the dish yeah where you can wash the dishes so we've just arrived from the boat from uh Apple Island so I'm all wet and tired but this is exciting [Music] oh you just put in the Holy hole Yeah like this yeah yeah products bye bye no more Filipino Wi-Fi so this was 30 000 pesos which is like seven six or seven hundred dollars and then 2700 a month which is like fifty dollars a month and they said they when you buy it you test the area that you're in and they said this one averages around 100 megabytes per second up and down so we're definitely going to test it out because I'm used to Filipino Wi-Fi averaging like two I'm not even gonna know what to do uploading these videos doesn't take three hours of it there's not much to do I guess we'll just plug this in be careful there's only three steps in the directions and I already forgot yeah your brain is too small [Laughter] so this one must go here all right I think that's designed for you yeah so yeah it's like a what do you call this a c plug an iPhone it's like an iPhone yeah and it goes in the Holy hole it's definitely unique for uh it's pretty cool where's the plug oh we can put this on the roof I think you don't need the roof we're gonna put this one try though this one is Stacy what is that I don't know yeah so you gotta download the app so you can get the Wi-Fi you need the Wi-Fi to download the app so I so I downloaded the app and they have the easiest instructions ever but I'm still confused select it looks the top two are the same no no no okay I'll go with that one that one's flat let's go to the bottom uh uh confirm I hope this is not past or test or pass or fail you just downloaded porn site again not not again is it moving I can hear it making noise in there uh uh plug in your power cables and set up starlink where it has completely clear view of the sky all right put the pizza box outside next uh join your starlink Wi-Fi thing it might take 30 seconds for it to appear open settings let's see if there if there is one oh you're you know well there is one it worked uh I gotta create a network uh okay I gotta go find the password it worked it worked okay let's try boom turn on you gonna turn on be a good boy boom what's going on it works holy moly holy moly yeah look yeah if we put it on the roof and stuff it'll be better but it had a 130 download speed y speed it's just like the Philippine one let me see the globe yeah we're way over here away from the router test the speed what look at that Globe that's no globe we're way over here across the thing from the shop damn it ah no it's we still got a small upload speed yeah but that's still better than our house yeah one only our house no good huh we take two hours upload this video you guys should appreciate us we're way over here by the across the thing how is it even better over here the download speed at least or I mean upload what we're like way over here we're on the other side of the beach on the other side of the dive shop the other side of the resort is still good uh I'm gonna do it again just for fun [Music] oh no it's going down but we're on the other side wait till we put that thing on the roof somehow the upload speed is better over here than it was over there look yeah the more you are farther the more so that's where you're gonna put it next to the desk is it plugged in yeah all right we'll test again for now we just got it sitting out there on the beach actually the starlings not totally set up yet uh you still gotta put it up on the roof but I'll let my dive Masters do that when they get back they could climb up there not me Cirque is gonna install the star links you got to put it over there where there's no tree just climb like a monkey huh it's just gonna blow off you gotta put it down all right so it is day number three with starlink and it's working even better it took some time I guess like 30 minutes to really have the best speed we're still sitting around 200 uh download and like 90 upload and so yeah that's pretty cool I was a little bit worried about the elements because it's raining really hard and stuff but yeah I think it's built for the elements so yeah to to reiterate it costed here in the Philippines it costed 30 000 pesos which is about five hundred and fifty dollars uh for the whole setup and then it costs 2700 a month which is about fifty dollars so pretty cheap I'm told in Canada it's about double the price the us as well um I have a friend a lot of people have been coming in here since we got starlink and saying they got it as well and uh we have a friend that lives way up the mountain and it's it's a long drive up the mountain and then a hour walk and that's where their family lives and they brought starlink up there they trudged it all the way up there they have a generator for electricity and they're getting even faster speeds up in the mountain the first Wi-Fi ever in this Village so yeah it's pretty cool anyways thank you guys so so much for watching just another uh update on the shop build we got the starlink Wi-Fi it's working good in fact I did a two-hour live stream yesterday it went awesome perfect first time I could actually do a whole live stream without cutting out all right see you
