all right so we're gonna talk about testing gold these are assets used to test gold they come in a kit that looks like this all right comes with a disc so this is all you need usually to test your gold you just got to know how to use it you could buy this kit and a lot of places you could probably get it on Amazon because everything is available there so this particular kit is very very useful you're not supposed to rely on stamps and things like that to determine your gold you want to do it yourself the problem being is that a lot of people in this business or crooks okay they sell a 14-karat chain with 10 karat links with this stamp and that stamp and this and so on and so forth so customers come over here they're trying to get a 14-karat chain we give them a price they go across the street someone gives them a 12 carat chain with a simple 14-karat stamp this is a 14 karat that's all you need and they don't know better and they don't know how to test their gold so they get a ridiculous price over there and if the end result is that they're getting ripped off over there and they're not paying a fair price over here and that could happen you know a variety of different ways that's what I'm taking my time to educate the consumer to level the playing field so we could sell a quality product for a good price rather than ripping people off like a bunch of other jewelers I'm not gonna name their names but it's happening a lot okay we get people coming in here they want to trade in their 14-karat chain it turns out to be 12 carat oh I got to go back where's my receipt this and that you want to avoid that with this specific kit it's very simple okay I'll show you how to use it right now got this disc all right it's a little scratch disk that's what I call it that's three chains here let's say we don't know the karat we're gonna take this one someone told me it's 18 karat let's test it okay someone told me this is 18 karat so let's scratch three lines this will be our 10 karat line our 14 karat line our 18 karat line let's see if it's gold at all okay I'm gonna start with my 10 karat solution right here all right it's an acid the way the acid works is it disintegrates gold of anything of 10 karat or less or just about 10 karat disintegrate so we know it's 10-karat because the gold didn't disintegrate at this point of time so that's good news at least a 10-carat well let's see if it's at least 14 karat alright we've got a third line here our second one we got 14 karat well past the 14 karat test maybe it is 18 karat after all let's take a look 18 karat acid okay we got a third line let's see we're hoping that this is well we got a problem because as you could see these streaks are present and this one is disintegrating that means that the carat weight is below 18 all right it's somewhere between 14 where the line didn't disintegrate and 18 where it did I take a very close look at that disintegrated didn't disintegrate disintegrated didn't disintegrate so now we know that more likely well I know that this chain is 14 karat and it is but you would be able to assume that it's a bare minimum of 14 karat and that's how you do the test okay watch the video several times send it to your friends it's not a stamp a lot of customers calling is a stamp one time we did we made a ring in 14 karat and we forgot to stamp it and the customers like oh the staff to this that that no the stamp is this you could stamp this table 14 karat if I had a hammer I would write now that doesn't make it 14 karat you have to have the knowledge to understand how to make the right assumptions about a product okay and that's using a kit and using things that this is what something a scrapper used to scrap gold and to value your gold alright the interest being is that I'm not giving people the secrets of the jewelry business these are the standards the secrets believe me I'm keeping for myself these are the standards of the jewelry business that you want to know so we can have educated consumers I don't want a consumer shopping around and comparing a crooks price to our prices alright someone doing 10 carat links mixed with 14 carat this and this and this and that to a price of a standard piece and that happens often people make a custom piece it's everyone's cutting corners vssr there's that is that these are there's a lot of losers on the street and a lot of losers in this business and if I'll take the time to point them out I will but right now I'm trying to educate you so I'm hoping that you understand this again gold chains it's a 22 karat won or very great purchase great item will layaway and the stay tunes for more information hi
