little tweet with just a gas pump and a light bulb so you know what that means speculation time but i think tesla is about to make the big move i have been talking about before but let's just take another look at it because i think tesla is about to make a move that will make tesla the new shell of the future probably much bigger than shell because i think people are hung up on the wrong details about them opening up their charging network and underestimating what tesla is about to do so let's do a little bit of speculation and let's dive right in [Applause] [Music] wow [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so they started building their supercharger factory in china in november 2020 and it was partly finished in february where they started low volume production testing everything out and now they have officially finished the entire factory here in august and are ready for the rambo and making the massive increase to the supercharged network but tesla has been ramping up the supercharger network for quite some time now it took tesla six years to get to his first 10 000 superchargers installed and they hit that target in june 2018 and one and a half year later they hit 15 000 superchargers installed in december 2019 and then it only took 11 months to get the next 5 000 superchargers up and running and on the 8th of november 2020 tesla announced that they had put up 20 000 superchargers but then they caught that time in half and only six months later they announced on the 7th of may 2021 that they have now hit 25 000 supercharges so they are ramping up but nothing compared to what we're going to see now because now they have a new factory that can produce 10 000 supercharges per year on its own so my guess is that tesla's supercharger production capacity is somewhere about 15 000 supercharges per year right now so in 2022 alone they will probably put up as many superchargers as they did in the first seven years tesla is getting very close to have 30 000 super charges up right now and we probably announced 30 000 in a month or two but then only one year from now they will have increased their charging network by 50 percent to about 45 000 supercharges so the biggest network in the world will increase by 50 percent but not only that elon has been saying that they will also increase the charging speed to 300 kilowatts but won't that also mean that they will have to increase this charging speed of its vehicles or else it just doesn't make sense to increase the charging network to 300 kilowatts if no car can actually benefit from that so a little speculation here is of course that the model 3 and model y will get an over-the-air update increasing their charging speed to up to 300 kilowatts but this will also help a lot with the charging problem because not only will tesla increase their network by 50 they will also increase the charging speed by 20 but remember that half of these 30 000 superchargers are still only 150 120 kilowatt charges so for tesla to grow the charging network by 50 in stalls that are all going to be version 3 the 250 kilowatt stalls will not only increase the output of kilowatt by 50 but actually more like 65 increase in the amount of kilowatt tesla's network will be able to deliver and that is after all what is all about and then the 20 increase on top of that by increasing the peak speed to 300 kilowatts so this is a much bigger increase than people might think so this will also help with the cues at the station that some sees in the u.s so to compare to what others has been doing well here in europe we have the dieselgate network called ironity well they have 350 kilowatt charging stalls so that is awesome but they have put up 400 stalls in the last four years yes 100 stalls per year this is pathetic someone clearly does not understand what is needed electrify america is going a little bit faster but they do expect to be at 3500 charging stalls by the end of 2021 and have 9500 charging stalls by 2025 so tesla will build more charges in the first six months of 2022 then electrify america will build in the next four years and if tesla does not build more supercharging factories which they probably will but if they don't they can from now on build out their network with about 15 000 stalls per year so they will in september 2025 have about 90 000 stores worldwide and electrify america will have about 10 times less and that is if tesla don't ramp up further so tesla will build out their network much much faster than anyone else there are a lot of gas stations they are also starting to get some fast charges so that is nice but the speed of which they are installing them is also very very slow so with the fast growing tesla fleet and the evs in general we need the network to increase faster and that is why we need tesla to come in and help and not just to help the tesla owners but help the entire ev industry because yes electrify america is putting up more and more charges and so is other energy companies but unfortunately we do see a common trend by the other ev charging stations i saw it on my trip here in europe many have reported to me that they have had the same experience and even herbert d's had the same experience on his road trip that many charges doesn't work and marcus brownlee also just did a video about a thousand mile road trip they did in a tesla model s plaid on ford mark e and again they had big trouble with the magi because of charges that didn't work so this is not a one-time thing this is a common theme so yes the others does have charges available but many of them actually don't work and something like 80 of them are also only 50 kilowatt charges and this is another big problem for the other guys when tesla will turn up the volume of superchargers and opening up to other evs they will make many of the other so-called charging stations with one or two 50 kilowatt stalls totally obsolete no one would want to go to these slow charging stations on a road trip and spend five times longer on charging so tesla also need to rapidly increase the network to keep up with the demand because pretty much everyone is going to want to use tesla's network because they are faster plentiful and reliable but tesla will make a crazy increase in the network but people that think opening it up is a bad thing for tesla are thinking very short term and never thinks short term when it comes to tesla they always think long term and with this crazy increase in charges they are doing i do think we tesla owners will be all right but try to think of this on a bigger scale because as i said tesla will make almost 80 of the charging network on road obsolete and at the same time increase their charging network so fast that no one can keep up and tesla is big on solar panels and big batteries as well and he's becoming a utility company in more and more countries so tesla will make electricity and sell electricity and will become the absolute dominating force when it comes to the charging network and we know the whole car in the stream will be electric so then tesla will have the biggest best most reliable open network in the world that most people is going to want to use of course there will be others in the market as there is today but tesla will definitely sit on the biggest market share of the new fueling infrastructure for the world's transportation sector that will make tesla billions of dollars in the not so distant future and make them the new shell but just sit on a bigger piece of the market than shill has ever done and won't have to dig their energy source up from underground and refine it and transport it around the world and then waste 70 on heat and only use 30 to actually move the cars but just take sunshine and fill up our cars with that i know tesla doesn't make advertising but this is simply going to be one of the biggest advertising campaigns the world has ever seen because yes they will open it up but we still don't know exactly how but elon has been saying there will be some difference so if you come with a car that can't jazz very fast you have to pay more or don't be allowed to charge as long and so on but i think everyone else but tesla cars will have to pay more than tesla owners and tesla cars can charge much faster than the id3 the id4 the marquee the bmw ix3 the mercedes eqb eqa eqc and so on and so on and people will start to realize okay if i buy a tesla i will not only get more miles per kilowatt hour of battery charged but i will also pay less per kilowatt hour and my car can charge faster why oh why should i buy anything else if i buy an id3 i will probably still end up going to the tesla charges anyway but pay more and charge slower and get less mileage per kilowatt-hour charge talk about a test lab to the rest of the industry okay you sold an ev2 customer but they all want to go to tesla's charging network and tesla will just look as the savior of the other ev owners as well because they opened up their network that no other automaker wanted to help build out the old oems on the other hand will just look like old greedy obsolete automakers that didn't want to help out so this is going to make tesla even more popular they are already the fastest growing brand in the world but now they will just explode and on top of that they sit on the biggest piece of the new fueling infrastructure to the entire world's transportation sector earning them billions of dollars on their charging network alone so because the others are moving so slowly i do think we need tesla to help out because they are the only ones who understand how fast this transition will happen i don't think the tesla owner will feel that much because tesla will make this crazy increase in the network both in numbers of stall but also in the amount of kilowatt they will be able to put out and combine that with a lot of others are doing a little putting up small amount of charges not very fast but combine all of the other charges will help out as well of course and more and more hotels and parking places will also have slow charges available that will also help out with the charging network because that means less and less people need charging on the way but will charge at their destination so i don't think we need to worry too much about tesla's move here to open up their charging network quite the contrary thinking a little long term i do think this will be a very important move in tesla's history that will put tesla not just as one of the first movers in the ev industry and forcing the entire auto industry to go electric but also show tesla as the one that made it possible for everyone else to sell more evs because now their customer can also enjoy the best fastest and most reliable charging network in the world and have the great experience of owning an ev on a road trip which tesla owners all experience already today and making evs the obvious choice and that is after all tesla's mission and thank you for watching and until next time take care out there and be nice [Music] you
