- Please welcome my man, Terry Crews. (audience cheering) (funky music) Yeah I see you. Do you remember the first time we met? - The Burger King commercial. - Yeah man. (laughs) - Yes, we did a Burger
King Commercial in a park. - Yeah. - And I didn't have any lines
I had nothing but it was don't mess up on that chicken sandwich. - Yeah.
(everyone laughs) He was just an extra, look
where he's sitting now. (audience applause) This is so scary man. - It is, it is. - I mean look man, I saw
you just do extra work but because of your
faith man, you just hung. - I have to give that up to
my wife because there was so many times I felt like giving up. (audience applause)
- Yeah. - And my wife Rebecca was like nope, nope, this is what you said you was gonna do. She would always hold me to
whatever I said I was gonna do. - I saw her before the show,
I went up in the stands and hugged her man, she's here. - That's my baby. - Y'all just. (audience applause) Y'all just celebrated 30
years of marriage man. - 30, 30.
(audience applause) Man.
- Hey Crews, what's been y'all key you
think to a successful marriage? - I'll be honest with you,
we broke up a few times. There were some times
when basically, I was not the ideal man. I was a toxic male. It was my way or the highway. You know cause the way I was raised, I'm from Flint, Michigan. So the whole thing was man look, you better control your
wife, control your family, control your thing. But this is the thing I
learned that it is impossible to love someone and
control at the same time. And yes.
(audience applause) And you know what she put up with me. I'll be honest with you she
put up, she stood in there, and there was one day
she was like, I'm out. And I was like go ahead then. Go ahead then, I've run
this, I'ma do my thing. But you know what there
was a little voice, that was like I'm all alone. (everyone laughs) - Hey Terry.
- And my goodness like, it's really lonely and cold out here. - Bruh, you just made an ignorant comment. (laughs) (audience applause) - I realized everything that I loved, everything that I'm about
was walking out that door. And I realized it was me, it was me Steve. And I had to revamp who
I was and correct it, and we've been back ever since. - [Steve] Yeah. - Going strong, strong,
strong, I'm just so thankful. (audience applause)
That's my baby. - And you got three daughters
who are still single? - Mm-hmm. - [Steve] Any special rules
you give them about dating? - Well you know I did all that wrong too. - Yeah (laughs) - And the thing is I remember
trying to be hardcore, you know you walk into, the
dude come over to the house, and you like yeah what's up man? What you about dog, huh, huh? - Yeah.
- You tryna mad dog it. And then I found you know the daughter just meet him somewhere else. And what I realized, I had
to do was just sit back and be open, and not control them either. And really, really just say you know what, let's find out who you are
and hopefully I like you. You know what I mean and
trust your daughter to make the right decision,
that was the big thing. - I ain't dead yet Terry, I'm still. All my daughters are grown man,
my youngest just turned 22. - Mm-hmm. - And they're adults. - [Terry] Yeah. - And no matter how you raise them, they get to make their own
decisions cause they're adults. - You know what, well listen. There was one guy, I loved him. He's was like a son to me I
was like this dude is awesome. She was like, we broke up. I was like hey. - (laughs) Yeah. - This dude is awesome and I was like, I was calling him like, hey
man come on back over man. - (laughs) Yeah. Hey Terry.
- You want something to eat, you hungry come over, I love this dude. I was like what happened. - Terry. Terry, I had one dude like that too man. I thought this little dude
was cool man, they broke up. I was hurt. (everyone laughs) It's crazy man. Hey listen everybody we
got more with my man, Terry Crews, right after this. (audience cheering)
