Tennis Volley Drills | Improve Your Power, Control, Placement, and Footwork

So Ema a great volley drill is a drill from my dad actually. And I did this drill as a junior and it's one of the best volley drills that i can think of and basically what it is you're going to start at the service line and the most important thing on volley is to close right, not to get stuck on the service line but you got to try to make your way closer to the net because it's easier to put the ball away. So you're going to hit four volleys. Each volley you take a step towards the net and then the last one is going to be actually struck very close to the net and what happens very often singles or doubles is that you try to put the ball away, you're close to the net, you don't do a good job at it and then you're exposed to getting lobbed because you're so close. So that's what i'm going to do then I'm going to lob you and then bring you back in and then you're going to do another four volleys I'm going to lob you again and then you finish the drill off with like a put away shot that's close to the net you want to try it? Yes. Okay Ema it's going to be 12 balls. I'm going to guide you through it. So let's start off with a forehand volley one and now keep closing two close the net three here's four lob five and now six come back in, here's seven volley keep closing eight here's nine here's ten volley lob that's 11 and match point 12 put it away yes good job
