I've moved the most expensive equipment to the UK. The first audio product to try in the UK's new studio is, of course, in the High-End category. Moreover, it's directly delivered from a UK factory. It's the flagship series of the cable brand that focuses on high cost-performance, the all-new Statement II from Tellurium Q. The price has suddenly increased from over ten thousand HK$ to tens of thousands, clearly aiming to enter the competitive High-End market. But its sound doesn't sound like typical High-End cables. But oddly, I prefer this sound. Why do I say that? In this episode, I'll talk to you about this cable and discuss my philosophy on high-end cables. Also, in this episode, a few CDs of TQ's cable burning and system tunning tools will be given away. Let's start the video and explain and give away gifts. Hello, everyone. I'm Ken Wong Welcome to feverSound.com. Today, I'll be reviewing a product with you. It's a cable that I rarely try, and it's also an expensive cable that I rarely try. It's the Tellurium Q from the UK. TQ cable, flagship power and interconnect cables. Before the formal introduction, let me tell you that if you think our videos are good, you might consider giving us a like or subscribing to our channel to give us some encouragement. This set of TQ cables is being tested here, so let's unbox it here. Let's take a look at the unboxing. Let's unbox it first. This... Statement XLR interconnect cable. Okay, there are two boxes here. Wow, it's quite large. Very beautiful fabric. interconnect cable. 1-meter-long interconnect cable. Quality inspection certificate. It was produced in June. There's a "System Disc." I see this System Disc, "System and Cable Burn-in." 60 minutes... Oh, this is a burn-in disc. This is interesting. Next, let's open the big box. It's truly "TQ Cable." It's a power cord. This one is 1.5 meters long. It also comes with a welcome package. Quality inspection certificate. An introduction to the series. Because I told the factory that I'm testing the power cords and interconnect cables, but I can't test the speaker cable because I use active speakers. And for testing the power cord, I need at least two. The preamp Gryphon Pandora uses two power cords. So there's no way; I must have two cables to test. The factory says they've been burned in, but I'll still burn them in. Now, that's all for unboxing. Before we officially talk about Statement II, let me briefly introduce the background of the Tellurium Q. Tellurium Q is a British brand that designs and manufactures cables. Although the cables introduced this time are in the tens of thousands of HK dollars range, they actually made a name for themselves with cables costing only a few thousand HK dollars. And their cables have good tonal balance, are easy to match, and easy to use. So online user reviews are generally positive. What does it mean to be easy to match and easy to use? Usually, cables are designed to emphasize a particular sound. The brand has its own sound signature. How do we define easy to match and easy to use? Most cables tend to stick to one sound signature. The sound of their brand. But Tellurium Q has different series playing different sounds. We can check their official website. The cables are mainly divided into three series: Blue, Black, and Silver. Looking at this simple chart, it's easy to see their differences. If you find the equipment's sound a bit dry, then buying the Blue series is the right choice. If you want better musicality, you can buy the Black series. If you want to focus on sound effects, the Silver series is the most suitable. At the same time, the manufacturer allows you to mix and match cables. Blue can be paired with Black, Black can be paired with Silver. However, the manufacturer does not recommend pairing Blue with Silver. Because the characteristics of the two cables are quite different, they may not be suitable for each other. These three series of cables with different tonal characteristics also have different levels. The most expensive is Diamond. The mid-range is Ultra. Depending on your budget and preferences, you can buy cables with different tonal characteristics and levels. However, of course, this time's Statement II is the top-quality, pinnacle version. So if you're not intereseted in this price range, you can also consider their other series of cables. Back to this Statement. When you enter the official website, you will see Statement II, and many other series of cables. Speaker cables, interconnect cables, balanced, and single-ended. Tone arm cables, DIN to balanced, and single-ended. Digital cables, BNC, RCA, XLR. And power cords, everything you need. Each model has many beautiful product shots. But not much technical or specification information is provided. They simply say they use high-purity metals in their mix. And the manufacturer mentioned in a previous interview that when they make cables, the most important thing is to solve the problem of Transcend Phase Distortion. Their research and development efforts have always aimed to solve this problem. Due to the limited information, the thickness of the cables, the materials of the cables, nothing is provided. So, you can only look at the actual product and the previous interviews with the manufacturer. For example, the signal cables use carbon fiber heads, and the power cables use Furutech plugs. The metal conductors undergo their own electroplating process. Why go through this process? Because the manufacturer believes that the different materials used in electroplating, the differences in thickness, and the different processing methods can all affect the sound. As for the cable body, it's not very stiff, making it quite easy to route. The core design is multi-strand. Multi-strand. It doesn't use a solid-core single metal. The internal structure of the multi-strand core also uses different metal ratios for tuning. Of course, the cable body has more than enough shielding, which is indispensable for high-end cables. Alright, what are we recording for you now? Right here. The first recording in this new listening room. Tellurium Q Statement cables. Both power cords are connected to the preamp. The Gryphon Pandora The interconnect cable is connected from the Playback Designs MPD-8 to the Pandora. Other cables are basic cables. The source is currently an OPPO player. Today, we're listening to physical discs, but after re-clocking through the Grimm Audio MU1, the signal is then sent to the Playback Designs MPD-8 for decoding. Then into the Pandora preamp, and finally, directly into the active speakers, the ATC SCM110 ASL Pro. Alright, let's talk about the sound. People who would buy cables at this price probably hope for a noticeable change as soon as they plug in the cables. That's what makes it worth it. But personally, I don't really like cables with strong personalities, what's called "Strong Cable." Cables with a strong personality are not my preference because they can be more challenging to pair with equipment. It might sound great with a specific setup, but if not paired well, the sound could be strange, and it might not match well with your system. But this Tellurium Q Statement II's interconnect and power cords are not the type of "Strong Cable" I mentioned earlier. They are relatively neutral. But saying they are neutral is not comprehensive enough. The sound with these cables has a slightly warm, dense, and smooth foundation with a richer analog feel. And this kind of sound doesn't forcefully alter the tonal balance. Instead, it naturally blends this sound into the sound of your equipment itself. This characteristic is somewhat similar to their Black Diamond series cable sound. At the same time, the sound doesn't become slow or muffled. Instead, it is very lively and vibrant. It has a rich sense of energy. And then, for high-end cables, it must have the ultimate in analytical power, spatial sense, and tangible imaging. And a soundstage that penetrates walls and barriers. It is equally well-equipped in these aspects. The dynamics are also plentiful, with impactful and crisp sounds. This aspect incorporates the strengths of the Silver Diamond. All collected within. In simple terms, this set of cables, Statement II, combines the advantages of their most expensive cables in the series. It embodies the best of both. I believe it will shine in flagship tube amplifier systems with rich musicality. Or in High-End equipment with intense and stimulating audio effects. It can complement both. Moreover, it can elevate the entire system. Given its comprehensive and perfect performance, are there any downsides? I usually don't consider the price factor as a downside, but let's be honest. We're talking about a set of cables that costs tens of thousands of Hong Kong dollars. It's truly Ultra High End. Some friends may encounter a psychological barrier. feels like you should buy certain brands. I think this is its most obvious drawback. But I want to say, perhaps when you're buying cables, you consider many things. You might consider the second-hand value, what others think, how many likes it gets on the internet, and so on... But if we focus on the essentials, on the fundamental steps, and listen to the sound, I think these cables, at their price point, are very easy to pair, neutral, but capable of enhancing the sound, cables that elevate the overall audio quality. And with the company introducing this product at this price point, named it "Statement," it's clear that this is the company's own "Mission Statement," aiming to prove to everyone. They don't just make entry-level and mid-range cables, their cables can also reach this level, this tier. Encompassing all the advantages of their in-house products, cables that embody all their strengths. For friends playing with cables at this level, I sincerely recommend you to give it a listen.
