[Music] hey guys welcome back to the Pegasus safety and rescue channel today we're just going to quickly go over converting a three-to-one Hall system to a five to one Hall system specifically we've got it rigged through an MPD and just going to show a little trick on how to make the system pretty efficient pretty quick so I know what our fire service the standard way we used to do it was we'd use a double Omni block similar to this and we would put this in first and we would rigged our 3-2-1 into this system okay the reason for it is if we found that the three to one system wasn't efficient enough for us to get our load up it was very simple because we could just redirect and we could go through the other side it just saved us a step last year United States had an issue where someone was hauling in this configuration at that point it was approved by the manufacturer but what happened was the force or the way that they were pulling on the pulley actually forced this side plate open so because of that incident the manufacturer now says when we're hauling on a double pulley we are not allowed to haul on a single side it has to be both sides okay so if we put a single pulley in here just gonna show you a quick way that we can switch from the five to our partner three to one to a five so we're hauling on our three two one MA find out that we actually need a five building there's just too much load not enough manpower whatever it is so before again if we have the double pulley in there all we needed to do was clip a single pulley on the Becket redirect our rope through the double pulley and we had our five to one so there's two ways to do this the first one we can do is I can pull the rope out of this single pulley I can remove the single pulley I can put my double pulley in put my single pulley here and I can put the ropes and run the ropes all back through them but there's actually a quicker way to do it if I take my double pulley it's already on a carabiner I open both sides like that okay by line my ropes up so I have my my working in the rope I'm hauling with and the rope that goes from my pulley to my MPD I want to put my double pulley on that those two ropes okay the next step Peter flipped all I have to do is undo my single pulley from my rope grab cliff my double pulley in take my single pulley back down to the back it just being mindful that I don't twist the rope clip it in there and just like that I've got a five to one again to me that's the simpler way it takes a little bit of practice to kind of get the steps down so that you can do it efficiently but I think that's the best way to do it rather than pulling the pulleys all apart and then rerouting them it's just a little bit quicker okay yeah if you liked the video give us a thumbs up make sure you're following us and subscribing we've got new content coming out all week as always put anything in the comments if there's anything you want to see any suggestions ways you guys do what we want to hear from you so yeah thanks guys you
