I was in grade 12 when this came out. I was into New Wave and thought Songs From The Big Chair was pretty epic.
Also had the same hair as Roland. Pretty glad no pictures survived.
I have always felt that this was the perfect pop song. It has everything you'd want in a hummable song, but it's also not dumb, and a lot of pop songs are dumb.
This was pretty much as good as it got. And it's aged well, too. Sometimes you make an old song or old video and it just looks silly with passing years. I think this holds up well.
Like these guys a lot.
This is still one of my all time favorite songs.
Man, this was on heavy rotation when it first came out...you couldnโt get away from it. It wasnโt until Kenneth Branagh used it in the opening credits sequence to Peterโs Friends (which featured the actors who played Lockhart, Umbridge, and Tralawney in the HP series, among others) that I actually really began to love it.
I have been listening to this song since it came out in 1985 and it has 536 plays on my playlist:)
Loved that song
