- [Announcer] BBC Radio 1. (drumsticks clicking) (upbeat music) βͺ I love my hometown as much
as Motown, I love SoCal βͺ βͺ And you know I love
Springsteen, faded blue jeans βͺ βͺ Tennessee whiskey βͺ βͺ But something happened,
I heard him laughing βͺ βͺ I saw the dimples first
and then I heard the accent βͺ βͺ They say home is where the heart is βͺ βͺ But that's not where mine lives βͺ βͺ You know I love a London boy βͺ βͺ I enjoy walking Camden
Market in the afternoon βͺ βͺ He likes my American smile βͺ βͺ Like a child when our eyes
meet, darling, I fancy you βͺ βͺ Took me back to Highgate,
met all of his best mates βͺ βͺ So I guess all the rumors are true βͺ βͺ You know I love a London boy βͺ βͺ Boy, I fancy you, ooh βͺ βͺ And now I love high
tea, stories from uni βͺ βͺ And the West End βͺ βͺ You can find me in the
pub, we are watching rugby βͺ βͺ With his school friends βͺ βͺ Show me a gray sky, a rainy cab ride βͺ βͺ Babes, don't threaten
me with a good time βͺ βͺ They say home is where the heart is βͺ βͺ But God, I love the English βͺ βͺ You know I love a London boy βͺ βͺ I enjoy nights in Brixton,
Shoreditch in the afternoon βͺ βͺ He likes my American smile βͺ βͺ Like a child when our eyes
meet, darling, I fancy you βͺ βͺ Took me back to Highgate,
met all of his best mates βͺ βͺ So I guess all the rumors are true βͺ βͺ You know I love a London boy βͺ βͺ Boy, I fancy you βͺ βͺ So please show me Hackney βͺ βͺ Doesn't have to be Louis
V up on Bond Street βͺ βͺ Just wanna be with you βͺ βͺ Wanna be with you βͺ βͺ Stick with me, I'm your queen βͺ βͺ Like a Tennessee Stella
McCartney on the Heath βͺ βͺ Just wanna be with
you, wanna be with you βͺ βͺ Oh, ooh, oh, oh βͺ βͺ You know I love a London boy βͺ βͺ I enjoy walking SoHo,
drinking in the afternoon βͺ βͺ He likes my American smile βͺ βͺ Like a child when our eyes
meet, darling, I fancy you βͺ βͺ Took me back to Highgate,
met all of his best mates βͺ βͺ So I guess all the rumors are true βͺ βͺ You know I love a London boy, oh βͺ βͺ Boy, oh, I fancy you βͺ βͺ So please show me Hackney βͺ βͺ Doesn't have to be Louis
V up on Bond Street βͺ βͺ Just wanna be with you, oh βͺ βͺ Wanna be with you βͺ
βͺ Oh βͺ βͺ Stick with me, I'm your queen βͺ βͺ Like a Tennessee Stella
McCartney on the Heath βͺ βͺ Just wanna be with you βͺ βͺ Oh, oh βͺ βͺ I fancy you, ooh βͺ (Taylor laughs)
London boy sounds like Joe dared her to write it and she took up that challenge.
That's not a bad thing. It has this insider-joke quality of being cheesy on purpose. And it's so damn catchy.
10/10 would sing along to
The lyrics are cheesy but in a best way possible. Itβs obvious what she was doing with the song.
@everyone bashing this song: yes you live in england we get itπ
How can people sleep on this song, iβm so obsessed with the bridge ππ
My favorite thing about this song is the self awareness when she said βBut God I love the Englishβ truly iconic line
Somebody please help me with my ignorance, what is "shortage in the afternoon"...
I understand this is one of the worst songs on the album on a bunch of levels, but its also the only one that gets stuck in my head
She looks like sheβs having so much fun! I love Taylor and so glad sheβs performing more again!
The lyrics are cringe but the song really is a full bop, so catchy
Best song on the album. Should have been the lead single.
