TATA'S NEW AIR INDIA - ARE THEY STILL TERRIBLE?

in the past 20 years India turned into a laughing stock with mounting depth old airplanes no vision passengers peeing on each other and endless scandals an airline that once dominated the aviation world and was known for its service professionalism and Hospitality became a burden to its Nation in 2021 Tada finally decided to take over the airline again making it the most romantic happy ending in India's commercial history the Maharaja was finally returned to where it belongs in the past six years fireflies in India have rather disappointing mostly to the Aging aircrafts and poor crew motivation but Tada has been busy buying new planes and introducing a new service structure so it was very keen and eager to book myself on one of their flights and see whether they really put their money where their mouth is [Music] thank you foreign started in Colombo the day before flying with Sarah on their Airbus aj20 Neo to Delhi with a surprising outcome but more about that in my next video I also bummed into David from Simply Aviation at my hotel we both happened to stay at the same place in Arrow City so make sure you check out his reviews as well after a good night I made my way to the airport and I was surprised that I didn't have to go to the usual interview that involves flying to Israel turn T3 Hi how are you good Quantified thank you personally agenda was a look at the lounge situation and while the reception staff was very friendly and kind the lounge was in a rather sad State and had the atmosphere of a school canteen also the manager came to me and forced me to do an online survey while looking over my shoulder she wouldn't leave me before I finished it which was really annoying and super uncomfortable if someone is watching for my India please educate your staff on this matter since this gives all the wrong Vibes thanks a lot foreign [Music] experience now let's head to the gate for our seven hour flight to Tel Aviv thank you on behalf of Air India We Wish You a pleasant flight hi beautiful thank you very much thank you good to see you thank you thank you thank you huge fan oh is it I follow you sir thank you thank you and here we are welcome on board to Dreamliner with 18 seats in a very standard forward-facing two two configuration not my favorite type of seed but very comfortable especially if you don't get a seed Neighbor Next to You first impression of the crew very kind very service oriented but let's see how that goes very good journey hey nice to meet you pleasure so guys and here you are welcome aboard air India's 787-8 you're not going to judge them too much on the hot product because that was before tata's time but by the soft product how is the crew attitude how is the service how's the food going to be solid because that I think Tata already had quite of an influence on us so we'd be judging them by that had a wonderful welcome by the crew everybody seems very nice motivated it's a day flight so people should be in good mood but let me also give you a quick little sea tour the problem with these forward-facing seats is the distance between you and the screen in front of you it isn't very ideal however what I do like is the space they offer especially if you go flat so every time I travel on one of those I get the best sleeping experience that's definitely something I can vouch for each seat comes with a universal power outlet a USB sold in a very old looking remote control I also found a pair of slippers at my seat a blanket and a pillow of very great quality they were super comfortable but what you also notice is how worn and dated the cabin is the info entertainment on my flight was barely working and most of the content seemed to be unavailable but from my previous slide I remember that they didn't offer the greatest variety something I'm sure Air India is trying to improve in the near future as well crew was quite busy prior takeoff handing out hot towels followed by a variety of Welcome drinks later a card with newspapers passed by for me to pick and I was also handed a menu for today's slide so far I was quite impressed and I could tell that things have changed since my last Air India Adventure safety video was shown and we then pushed back for our flight to Israel now is perhaps a great time to check out my other social media channels such as Instagram altitude was for the crew to hand out amenity kits something you barely see these days on a six hour flight the amenity kit contain all the goodies that you need including eye shades lip balm moisturizer and a dental kit I also love the case but that wasn't all the crew even handed out pajamas especially that shows that the airlines dedication of becoming one of the greatest Airlines again is real they're trying very hard and I love that I was then time for dinner and knowing how awful the food and Air India used to be I was very much looking forward to give this one a try and I should be in for quite a surprise on that one also you can see heaps of booze was available as well so we are in our into the flight the starter just arrived and that is something I'm very excited to experience on this Air India flight the new catering the new food options that they have apparently they up in their game a little bit the food has gotten a lot better and yeah we're here to find out and I'll let you know what it tastes like so we are on to the main course starter was delicious now I have grilled ponds with spaghetti presentation looks uh give it a I think it went to seven out of ten so let's see what it tastes like because that's what matters so spaghetti prawns I give it a solid 8.5 it was really delicious a portion a little small but other than that uh it was it was pretty good very uh not too dry full of flavors as the quality of the meat was pretty satisfying so um up par with most of the major airlines in the world so when it comes to catering that has definitely improved on Air India apart from this I also find the service pretty efficient crew is showing great presence in the cabin they're following up um they're pretty quick in between courses so um just as good as you know it from other top 10 airlines in the world so that was pretty uh impressive so far um yeah and that I guess concludes the uh uh the meal service if the dessert happened to be like out of the ordinary I I will give you another update I will just voice over it and then after this we're gonna do a new review and then uh I'm gonna check out the flatbed as well I went for a cheese and fruit platter for dessert which was pretty solid afterwards it was then time for me to check out the loo and have a chat with the crew as well so and here we are also at the loo which looks pretty good apart from the tape holding the lid but you can see that inside the cabin like everything is a little bit uh pulled together by duct tape but then those Dreamliners of Air India are pretty old some have been delivered in 2012 so some of the very first Dreamliners uh that were delivered to Airlines Air India was one of the first customers as well um yeah I did an ad had a bit of a chat with the crew in the galley and while I decided today I said like I'm going to be very gentle on Air India right not going to be bashing them based on their old planes and all these kind of things and then the crew was like Josh make sure you give them a hard time Tata came in they have such a big mouth they're promising so much and we haven't seen anything yet really and it's like they give them a hard time I was like all right we'll see but other than that so far really fantastic flight um they're trying really hard um they're generally good very service oriented I'm gonna go flat I guess now have a bit of a nap and then talk to you guys later add a quick look at the economy cars cabin which I've flown on several locations as well and then went to sleep for a few hours waking up just in time for our descend into Tel Aviv however once we landed I was in for not so pleasant surprise so keep watching if you want to see what happened to me oh my God yeah exactly exactly well anyways [Music] but I never like interesting I've never liked phones and stuff the passport makes no sense I was already like as long as you've got the password thank you so much thank you thank you thank you thank called an engineer so I'm the last one off the plane but uh I had an amazing flight the Maharaja is back and now the door is closed here as well oh dear and now I'm stuck in a Jet Bridge somebody has to let me out it's the doors closed I'm sorry first my passport is gone now I'm stuck in the Jet Bridge what's next don't think about it don't think about it let's see [Music] so anyways welcome to Israel what an amazing flight the Maharaja is back amazing crew yeah do your full summary once I'm at the hotel and I entered Israel I hope you don't kind of give me any troubles they're coming eh so guys here I am a little airport guest house like 10 minutes drive from uh Ben Gurion International Airport because tomorrow at 10 am already continue on LL this time in an economy class uh to London so I I will have Max of I don't know six hours of sleep and then I continue this little journey but as I said the Maharaja is back um a fantastic crew eager crew crew that is really wanting to be part of this change and uh that what I could see today there was a lot of new crew as well they joined just recently and they've been just as fantastic but even the old ones right the ones that have been there for like 20 years uh they seem to be just as energetic so whatever is happening within the company it seems to be working and I saw motivated and hard-working chemical that loves their jobs and this is what we want right so uh yeah I would never see myself say that but yeah India is uh well done well done a world of a difference to my first flight in 2019 no my first time was 2018 and then 2019 was terrible it was horrible um so yeah that's that's that's that's that's it very happy that it all went uh smooth and well and then I got my passport back as well Jesus I never lose things
