hello everybody welcome back to more binding of isaac repentance i always got to think about it repentance is the one that it is right now there's been so many uh we've entered spoilerville if you missed last episode episode before that we're there's no going back there's a massive massive spoilers uh every day from here on out so if that's not something you want this is this is your final warning we're going in three two one flipping the dang post-it note to the other side the b side we going celeste is that is that what's up but i feel like you know we could obviously go and try and unlock other versions of the characters all that kind of jazz but i kind of want to just see what this is all about i will play on normal for today maybe tomorrow we'll try and unlock uh bethany again maybe we'll give that a go but for now let's go okay so kane is different now uh we don't have the same stuff we don't have the the lock pick we don't have the lucky foot we we are not lucky we have a a bag of what is it bag of i was gonna say bag of holding this is not dungeons and dragons uh bag of crafting i think it was called in the bottom right there we have a bag where our okay where our cards and pills normally go okay i don't know why i try to pick that up there thought maybe it could go in the bag i guess well i guess if wait oh wait okay so maybe it needs to hold pills i don't know maybe needs to hold pills or we could try oh wait how do i get it out oh maybe i wait uh okay well i guess it's gone i guess it's just gone okay um bang of craft thing i can only imagine we can craft with it so let's do the floor oh god this is not gonna be good yeah this is not gonna be good at all this is gonna be bad in fact uh we'll finish the floor and then we'll see what's left on the ground after that i don't know like can we turn maybe we can turn pickups into other other pickups if so i certainly don't know how right now uh it looks like it takes eight though so i guess i'm not sure i'm not sure what's up maybe we get we'll cross the bridge when we come but i'm not even gonna i'm not even gonna hazard a guest so i can't wait to be out of this godforsaken room though long long long leave the king this room is chonky joyce joy's lawyers it is it is a thicken i mean it's a it's a big room oh we have another big room down to the south it's funny like that you see a big room like this and at least i do and i'm like ah this is an annoying room but it's just like it takes the place of a couple rooms i guess you know so it's not that bad really uh we don't even get to see what this is i'm gonna take it what okay we don't get items okay that's um that's big uh that's that's huge what or am i missing something i mean i guess it was uh it was hidden so maybe it could have just been [Laughter] it could have just been um i don't know oh whoa we're gonna die we're gonna die if you don't go back up and pick up that stuff right there because that does a full heart of dimag it's a good thing i i knew that this one was probably gonna be a little too good to to pick up there that's why i didn't go back and get that uh but so is it that the only way we can get items is through consumables i there's some runs where i could imagine i could imagine we get a lot more items than normal as a result of that you know like uh tip typical game break runs i would imagine we could we could have some good time with that oh little horn we are we are weak as hell though in in a sense because we we certainly have we have nothing we got we have no items no items whatsoever uh i guess that if he's gonna drop an item we'll and it always turns into pickups then we would get an item now i guess which is one instead of two but i guess maybe we have some kind of control over it i have no i have no idea man i am this if this is a taste of what some of these alternate characters thank god finally okay this is a taste for what some of these alternate characters are going to look like here this is big news question mark okay here's the thing here's the thing i'm going down to the next floor screw you game i i'm under the assumption that maybe also what oh god what is our goal uh new character lois a lowish hp let's maybe we'll meet up at the mines maybe we'll go to the mines oh look we get the burning basement anyways okay uh definitely don't know what that is i can't remember it's uh okay go to the platinum god here is it that's not the wooden nickel is it if i search coin oh there's like 2 000 items crooked penny when used you have a 50 chance to double all items consumables and chests in the current room it wait if it fails they're deleted and the crooked penny spawns a coin uh all right oh okay so we can make it it seems like it's something that we could potentially make good use out of with this character right like theoretically if we are trying like it's an investment in the future we still still don't really have an item you know we still don't have an item whoop not yet all right fine what is the okay dangerous charged key i will i'll just take that oh go big guy this is such a bad item for me to have with this oh no i it could have been it's ah this is the gamble character going from a character who's just got like really good safety in uh in kind of like rng manipulation to an extent in not having to care about keys as as much and having extra luck stat this is the opposite man i mean to be fair it's like it's the opposite on the run that we're on because of what i have chosen to do oh that could have been big it could have been big it could have been big one of these days it's going to pay out right now why does it have to be 50 theoretically it might be best used in a room like this weirdly enough oh do we actually get it we don't so the does the thing whatever's inside the bag does it improve the quality because this should be okay so it does know that that is a dime i don't know what that is it looks like an egg ah who cares man let's just go for it leprosy oh that does not that does not sound good uh taking damage will spawn an orbital that rotates around isaac dealing contact damage maximum of three leprosy orbitals can be found okay uh so it is basically quasi pretty fly it is quasi pretty fly okay uh i guess one thing we should check actually yeah we should definitely check if uh we can replace something that is already in there oh oh gaming we should replace something that is already in there like i'm gonna do that i guess in the event that one of the items looks like something i don't want wait so is this also part of it okay the thing is this all takes consumables you know like we don't we don't get these consumables now as a result so that's the that's the big thing okay what is i do not remember what the the two the two die does okay but theoretically this is riskless it's also not very exciting okay uh well like here's the thing our i would imagine that coins are theoretically the worst valued item in the event that that is a thing i don't know if it's a thing but like by the same token we could like we can just do this it's a random oh no no no no no no we hated that last wait what okay so now it's different what is this deep pockets more money i can hold more money uh that is irrelevant is that the only thing it does uh all allows you to carry two cards pills runes at the same time and lets you okay and lets you hold more moon knee this is uh this is not going very well right now i would say that one room that we we chanced it we beefed it we could have had we could have had a lot more going on right now but currently like our damage is bad our survivability is frankly not even very good hello there friendo whoa that sucks okay we'll go poop there goes our uh our rotten heart at the very least that's okay we still have a deal with the devil chance for whatever that's worth that's not gonna stay for long though the second we get hit we are obviously that's gonna go away that was good for a second and then it made it very scary bite me all right we done done did it ah i hate that we don't actually get it go this is so weird because it's like i can't i can't take these if i want items i can't have any of this also oh god payout okay um there's gotta be a pickup on the ground somewhere right there's gotta be i i could have gone in there i suppose there could be like just any anything literally even just a coin just a coin a poop an unsmooshed poop something we are so so weak it is not even funny what if i could just like okay yeah i mean you have to try right you have to try okay i guess we're just gonna go to the next floor uh boy howdy this is i certainly can't handle the harder floor right now not without any stat change oh oh that is it's not bad it's just not exciting it's it's not like giving me that that pep that i wish i could have [Music] that little the juju the judge if you will and i will okay so these guys yeah don't really have a whole lot of yeah okay good let's say i don't really have a whole lot of uh places to go in this room here fine fine fine fine fine fine all right all right four bombs i'm sure that there's like hey so it's probably the same every time i well you gotta go you gotta go do these do damage that my uh little orbitals i'm not sure they might just block bullets i kind of assumed they were pretty fly i don't remember if it said that they did or not i'm even gonna i'm gonna check so before i put myself in danger uh using the orbital to deal damage enemies can cause it to break so yes all right so we can we can use it like a cube of meat uh sac dagger etc etc and honestly we probably should so yeah the item rooms give us components oh ah i got stuck what did i get stuck on oh you jerk i i wonder if we can pick up those uh the uh the troll bombs all right am i missing something why would why did we get breakfast twice is there some kind of like recipe system that i should somehow know again like it's it's not the worst thing to get it really is not oh okay i thought it was far enough away it is not the worst thing to get but it's also just like i need something this is like this is a it's painfully slow the run right now it is it is actually painfully slow wow all right what do you got for me oh here's the thing this is this is a good thing to take you see oh we didn't lose it yet oh my god does he have i this hurts it hurts to do that but this this has to give me good stuff right i'm gonna take the health for better or worse here is it does it have maybe the quality has no basis can we pick up that no we can't pick up this uh hard nut to crack it's i we get something sometime when we get hit uh right i don't know what it is chance to break giving us a random trinket coin wait when taking damage from an explosion uh a random trinket a coin a heart and a key that's fine no reason not to have it right no no reason to to not have it on my person i would sacrifice it if i could though okay just want to see all right mom's bracelet okay wait my spacebar is gone that's annoying uh allows you to grab objects in the room and throw them damaging any enemies oh wait oh this is new shoot all right okay okay well maybe maybe i do need to know what it is uh oh wait oh i got it this time okay oh oh this slaps oh hell yeah oh hell yeah okay can we take this in we can take it with us oh legend of zelda let's go i don't know if these can still give us oh i would rather have that it's just like a completely safe way to to break all this stuff that's great okay uh i see a lot of a lot of potential there we can obviously like get through i think this is probably gonna be better for our run certainly also like i think it's a better damage method it absolutely is what okay there must be a new mushroom effect must be a new mushroom effect i can only imagine we can't pick up enemies otherwise that seems mega busted oh my god still we don't uh we're probably not gonna pick up very many keys meaning that golden chests aren't gonna be that useful i don't know like the thing is the boss is going to drop another item and we're going to have to decide if we want to just oh god oh no oh no i know i know that you are a problem for me i was trying to do orbital damage there oh okay one of these days we'll get a stat that would be beautiful okay oh i wish i could pick you up and throw you into your father okay this is not a lot of room to dodge right there okay thank you yeah we have to pick between blood clot let's go uh i will take a key okay um certainly we are i don't know man i think we need i think we need to relocate to the uh the main path here still or not relocate we're still on the main path all right okay all right okay all right damage uh damage up in the form of blood clot is the first happy uh happy thing i think i've got well i mean the bracelet's cool too but we need something that impacts our actual character's strength you know i tried i tried to pick it up with the uh the space bar there i do want to try and pick it up with the whoop oh my god i can't believe i can maybe pick up poop but the flies are on them so i'm like oh i'm not feeling that as much okay oh okay okay i'm with it i'm with it we break the poop with the bag then um yeah they they get angry can we wait can we hit the bag we can hit with a bag that is a terrible item well i guess that's the thing it's kind of like a re-roll is that actually is that like what cat food uh dog food it's not dog food food i i don't know i don't know what that is uh can i search can i don't know what it is it to me it just looks like an hp up which means i don't think i really want it but it might not be that i can't i don't know all right fine wow me supper okay god it is just an hp up it is just an hp up okay okay this item slaps i love that cool thing we would we'd be able to do that there okay all right oh this knock all right okay i gotta be honest leprosy it's better than uh better than i'm giving it credit for for sure i think i need to give it credit where credit is due it is not a bad item at all oops that being said i i do just want some stats i don't think that's uh i want tears up damage up i think it's it's not uh unreasonable to desire those things we've got good hp and survivability but things are gonna get away from us soon for sure if we don't like i don't know we just don't get a little bit of action happening i feel like the arcade is a a fun place for us to go it is nice to get use out of like some of these hearts and stuff that normally don't maybe get a lot of value oh i missed i missed the rock oh the cooldown i got used to that cool down there poop it poop kill poop with a poop killing poop with a poop i missed because i broke it all right let's just uh let's i was gonna stay let's stop uh cheesing the room yeah it's not to get used to picking this stuff up theoretically the min max play would be to break literally all of these in case we possibly get a crawl space every rock in every room i just wish they broke each other ooh a whole bunch of pills we could oh we could take them or we could like maybe we'll get a really cool pill based item who knows i mean this room is like uh it's a godsend for us to an extent we don't care what the pickups are obviously like i'm under the assumption that we want better ones yeah these two they do get picked up is this item gonna be good uh that gives us oh wait that's not what i thought it was random blast plus five bombs that's not great in fact that actually sounds very bad upon thinking about it a little bit more i'm doing this uh okay the good news is we actually do not get this card uh the item and i would say i guess i would say it's good news i'll just take it all i want to get some items i'm even going to put the raw heart in there because maybe that's going to be a good thing like we're just going to lose it by leaving the room anyways you know so let's uh let's maybe bank on the fact that maybe maybe maybe the quality of the item matters get that knock back huge huge hit seems like that maybe does the same damage regardless of what the thing we're throwing is so that's kind of nice i mean we have infinite uh rock breaking definitely can't be mad at that are we done we're done the box box wait it has different stuff on it there's just moving box when used pick up items and move them between rooms no that doesn't i already have i already have that basically kind of not really uh it lets you pick up things like bombs and keys and move them to other floors basically but i don't think that that's i don't think we're gonna really do that like is that that's not soy milk god man we have to just we have to look up so many items like okay fine what it milk familiar glass okay it it is a familiar that when we get hit we get tears up i guess it's maybe not the worst but i feel like is this oh geez i don't want to look up i don't want to look up everything booster pack booster pack is that what this is this is spawns five tarot cards what are two spades two of hearts ace of spades ancient recall okay ace of clubs convert all so hold down control all right all right these are these are good but it's in a sense like i kind of want to see what happens to our item if everything we pick up is a tarot card right like i know that this is like yeah convert all this is this is sacrilege but i hate everything why why can't i make a good item how is this that was that not a good item did you see what i sacrificed what's happening how do i make a good item do i have to google a freaking list or something these guys always have way more help than you would expect huh okay well we can't get that never really know when the creep comes out so i'm just gonna assume it's always coming out okay i breakfast what is that wait isn't that good if i just search bone will i find it rib is it like is that broken rib familiar that can be aimed with the fire buttons dealing contact damage equal oh equal to your tear damage i mean like that's not good but honestly at this point wait does the item get better yeah i feel like yeah just having another way to do damage right now sounds really really satisfying uh does the item get better if we have more stuff in the in the bag than what it shows oh well that's that's a tears up range and tears up i'm gonna take i'm gonna take all the black cards i'm gonna take all the black cards maybe that's the uh that's the gimmick that i'm not realizing maybe it's not just eight items maybe it's based off of because it certainly got better as i put even more in i don't know i have no idea all i know is it went from uh from supper supper a breakfast to an item that i that actually seemed like it had some some merit something more impressive like dang if this is not the min max character like this is somebody out there is gonna like have a chart i i can so see this being like could you imagine like if this item is unlockable uh i mean which it probably is and that you use it with like jacob and eza or something that'd be crazy like the amount of just uh just figuring out to do i will happily take a key i feel like i need one of those uh the amount of figuring out you'd have to do at all times oh i forgot actually i had to fight this guy okay play greed mode you see him a lot [Music] we're actually we're putting in work now i i really want to go in there and pick that up but okay so that counts as two so that's breakfast now it's the blue map it's still the blue map now it's glitter bombs well first of all glitter bombs seems like a good thing for this character to have okay because that means uh when we place bombs we have a chance to get pickups so we could kind of convert bombs that we have into other items so like what yeah okay all right all right all right all right we're getting somewhere we're getting somewhere this is turning into a run i i don't feel comfortable going to the alt path still though i think that's the thing here's the maze rip rip and we are on oh we're in the same room actually never mind i thought we moved locales but the broken rib is uh is is going well i'm really i'm really enjoying that that's like my my favorite thing here uh okay it seems as though we can overstack it looks it visually looks like you should only put in eight things but i guess that's not the case i suppose do i want to i would love to try and pick up this spike rock and see if i can can i i that i know that makes it seem like that's what i was trying to do but i was not uh the bow doesn't matter nothing matters what on earth is that baby it's new okay if it's new i have to have it iced iced baby icicle icicle shots also then we can start putting these to use towards another uh oh hello another target oh god uh-huh we could we could curse the maze ourself inside that sacrifice room i i know i know that's oh so wait so he's frozen uh okay it's fine so he's just there now right sort of hoping for a teleport i'm going to take these oops there we go that's right that's what i meant to do in the out i don't want buddy in the box uh this is fanny pack um get hit drop items seems like a again another good tool for this particular character what a weird run what a weird run i i don't know if i remember the last time i've had such a strange run of isaac and this character is very much uh like one of the core core reasons as to why like the fact that we're not completely starved for consumables right now is weird to me why aren't we just like absolutely starved for them okay this baby seems potentially great the fact that it's basically an insta kill oh like inherently that already is great okay we're going to angle the fly can any of the flight all right uh i'm not gonna throw every rock here key beggar i don't have any we gotta be careful because those bombs i i can imagine will explode into like a whole bunch of random stuff okay all right so it is breakfast again all right this baby's great actually it's still breakfast is it because coins are not inherently of much value i'm guessing don't have keys for that that's fine hourglass no thank you mm-hmm let's do the room again i wonder if there could be some kind of like jank up bug okay fine let's see scapegoat uh nope jank up kind of a bug with uh with the sack and the the room starting over i wouldn't be shocked still blow up nope oh my god so still scapegoat it's scapegoats still when we pick up coins i think that that's the inherent catch right here is that coins are worth nigh nothing what if we could pick up the spike oh that'd be great this is this is okay guys repentance is really good like i have not been excited for isaac in this way oh this is depressing i would love the pentagram i've not been excited for isaac in this way in a long time get hit to do an aoe i mean sure it's a deal with the devil item so like that's a good start right okay you better give me something good little delirium can we even get the key piece i bet should we i bet you we can oh geez all right this is bad that is not what i wanted to do at all whoa but it was worth it what is happening we have a lot of like okay so yeah the key pieces are untouched good i was going to say how else would that i how else that would that really would work i don't know uh okay so when we got touched we blew up to it's like an extreme degree what why was it little delirium doing something a thame shouldn't have done anything it could do it could be the random bombs i don't i don't know i don't know why we did as much damage as we did i'm happy about it because obviously like that could have gotten really bad really fast there's something inherently like busted about this run oh well we don't have a we don't have a fool card or nothing something inherently busted the tower i had to check you know okay hold on drop the stuff don't really want the tower card robo baby not sure sure we are oh wait it's robot baby 2.0 oh okay so yeah we certainly blew up again okay we do want a key we also want to stop munching all of the health we're gonna want some oh my god i am my brain is just fried with all of the tools we have i feel like i need to stop even thinking about uh robo baby 2.0 i think that is making my life uh more difficult than it needs to be so we are we're now at the spot where we're gonna be taking like some huge huge damage okay did little delirium just explode little delirium just exploded this is this is so weird okay uh let's leave feels like we're yeah we're exploding when things get like only even kind of close to me the fool oh is that why that has an x on it is that why it looks like a tinted skull um ah good i was gonna say like you don't get a full card every run but apparently you can well as long as you have a bomb um i i i i i i don't want to try that because if we get if we get bombed there we are in a world of hurt okay speaking of in a world of hurt in a world filled with hurts uh okay okay okay okay breakfast is supper a full heal no ooh i'm trying to think about even care about this i don't think i'm going to do it maybe robo baby 2.0 is exactly what i should care about and the only thing i should care about okay so little delirium is currently bob's brain yeah you know what i'm eating this fool card i i'm not going there today i don't think we have a good run we obviously don't have a character unlocked to do oh well shoot i was hoping for deal double your tear damage counts towards the beelzebub transformation i don't know what that does for us though um i wish oh wait so that's the coupon but that's an active item which means it would go away all right well we should have taken infestation for sure so it like reset itself it reset itself because because it's all coins now oh and there's the slot machine gotcha gotcha um okay so [Music] fine it's basically yeah this is the it's just the same thing this is the stupidest little run man um i wish i felt comfortable with this so what does this blood do so is this the yeah so that's the slot machine by base there just by base the slot machine uh happily and if we put it in we get rainbow baby conjoined so now we shoot out a bunch of random tears or no we shoot out the tears out of the side as well okay okay uh oh that's right that doesn't actually hurt me it just looks like it's dangerous it slows me down that's all it do phd i wish what you can have two of the same if you that's that's huge oh my god that is huge the uh okay i did not even process that that was gonna be a thing i want the soul heart i'm not gonna i didn't process that that's like that's really really an important thing you could double up on some items that normally you have no real clear way of typically doubling up on that's huge like having two of these babies even alone is like going to be awesome for room i want to go in so bad for it but it's a little too dangerous oop i got stuck by myself uh okay um it's mom this is certainly bizarre i i definitely have never had a more strange run of binding of isaac in my life there is no question no question i am so excited to see what the uh okay i'm actually gonna munch that so excited to see what the uh the other characters look like okay so we have the left hand should we have the left hand and should we get drop the left hand and go for the chest we've we picked the chest a lot but we've only actually gone or we picked the polaroid a lot but we've only actually gone once uh i i think that the negative has a bonus stat to it now that it didn't used to sure okay oh the negative gives you a damage up now oh baby there's did it did it not used to do that or did it always do that did it always do that did it always do dance okay so now we're on the the home we've entered the realm of danger dude okay you can't i tried i tried i tried okay their tears do get oh absorbed in i thought that there was not another one oh we could use the the bag to push some of that stuff away regardless like oh my god [Laughter] okay do we need a key do we need a key there's no more item rooms all right bombs in bombs um uh i don't know if i want bombs in bombs i mean if they do properly glitter bomb there's certainly something to be said in the event that event um can we have we have twice as many circling us fine do these do these stack that is the old q with the d there i wonder if they stack oh little delirium he's isaac now okay love seeing that okay yeah the scatter bombs could be really good if they do work if they do work but i don't know if they do work all right the babies are so good jarrah oh okay in oh spiders and then throw that one okay i'm actually gonna take an hp up right now i'm gonna do it uh when should we when should we zera man staying on floors there's no item rooms anymore but for this character oh i can't move down anymore there's no item rooms anymore but for this character there kind of is at the same time you know the world is my item room okay what we'll happily do that i don't know if those could maybe turn into oh what is what is going on down there robo baby 2.0 uh is is wrecking face i guess is what's happening i wish i remembered what his recipe was so we could just make two of him going from uh saying that i didn't know if i wanted him to wanting him back where is he where are you where is this is such an annoying room not because it's hard it's just because it's like i stop it mister just just come here now this is a room enemies are all in a line hold down left click and everything or left uh i guess it's not left but you know what i'm saying hold down left and everything is just dead we've done it all right we're gonna freeze something maybe okay trying to move robo baby baby triple freezer baby eh whoop yeah because one of those the ones that look kind of like that have a chance to like even a decent chance to have hearts in them these ones i know it's a small sample size but it's looking like that's that they don't got nothing yeah that makes sense all right everything is getting all frozen uh no thank you okay uh yeah we should probably take the next heart drop that i see though this has already been an hour this character is so slow it's so slow uh that makes sense that makes sense that makes sense that makes sense all right i and here's the thing like i i it's been this long but i don't i don't expect a victory really not not not right now i i feel like uh for boss fights we just we don't actually have that much going for us well actually yes we do yes we do in my head i'm like oh just because we can't uh we can't use our freeze against the bosses but it's like that's not the only thing that matters here you know also it looks like maybe this they might get slowed because what else do we have that slows it would be it would have to be something from little delirium right okay [Music] oh i get excited every time and then i get disappointed every time luck key right is that it's an old as hell item isn't it latch key lock up soul heart spawns two keys i feel like that could be way better i'm gonna take that okay so it probably doesn't look like it but i have two i now have two fingers up from my solitary one i guess they're they're probably just stacked right on top of each other one would think but it's twice as effective now all right so it looks like half hearts just turn into full hearts in the context of in the context of the uh the crafting sack whoop what these had like some kind of weird shade to them so i was just thinking that i might as well double check you know we're already thought we would look at that we got three post-it notes filled out uh if you would have told me that we would have even beat the lamb on that run uh like on the second or third floor i would tell you nope not true not true at all uh if maybe if i remember the what was going on in that fight we'd be a little bit better off maybe if i wasn't so worn down from the hour hour and a half which is way more than i typically play for a roguelike run uh maybe we'd have a better chance but the last that is that and that is going to do it for today that was uh that was tainted kane i feel like it certainly was a good showcase of what his unique challenges and potential triumphs are uh the fact that you can semi-reliably do have duplicate items of the same kind something that you kind of could only do through what like diplopia but this being something you could feasibly do reliably on specific runs is really really interesting uh this is a min max character through and through holy moly uh
