i'm excited to share my voice is a little stronger than it was on sunday to god be the glory y'all i got home after church on sunday and i hadn't been that sick in a long time and um got got even worse on monday but woke up tuesday healed in jesus name praise god and so feeling great and of course i'm always looking great come on somebody right y'all don't have to laugh that hard all right so uh but i do uh want us to pray here in just a moment and let the lord help us to understand his word you know the bible says that the word of god has to fall on good ground for it to produce fruit so it just can't fall anywhere it's got to fall in a good place and we have to prepare our hearts to let it get in a in a good place and we're going to do that and i want you guys to pray with me too this week on on friday i'm doing the commencement address for troy university and uh yeah come on y'all failed my speech class at lsu and doing the troy commencement unit help us lord so anyway and i'm excited about that and it's a real honor honestly to to go down there and and uh congratulate those graduates and and and give them a little bit of what's in my heart too so uh it's awesome and then i'm gonna finish out of the cave series this coming sunday and it's also mother's day and that is a public service announcement for all you men all right so be sure you get a card and get some flowers and some of y'all are panicked looking right now thinking oh my god that's right so write it down it's going to be good in jesus name hey before we pray i have about 40 pastors in the room who have been hanging out with me uh yesterday and today that we've just been pouring into you've been pouring into you guys know that we have a call in our life to pour into pastors some of them are from the west coast and hadn't been in church in a year and so why don't y'all show some love they hadn't felt come on show them some good love god bless you guys love you all right make room in your heart for god right now father we love you and we love and respect and admire and honor your word god it is a lamp unto our feet it is a light into our path and tonight god we're not just going to hear it we're going to hide it in our hearts we're going to let it be written on our lives tonight god that we're not just impacted in our minds god but we're changed we want to be changed in your presence so father i'm asking you lord god just to use these few minutes to help me communicate what i'm so very passionate about the lord i pray god that they not see me that they see jesus lord god that they not hear my words but hear your words lord and god i pray that we'll never be the same in jesus name and everybody said a good amen amen all right open your bibles to the book of exodus get some notes this is i'm going to overwhelm you with material tonight i've got a lot of stuff i want to give you there i think we have 60 slides so anyway help us lord i'm going to try to get to really fast but i just want to show you some things as you know uh in the first wednesday january um i told you that we're really in a in a rebuilding mode you know coming out of 2020 this was the time for us to kind of rebuild our church tyler i'm good man thank you my brother i appreciate you all right i told him to stay there and he didn't know when to leave praise god all right so y'all give tyler a hand everybody but don't go far i'm feeling the presence of god we might sing right middle of my message so you never know all right but uh um i i told you i wanted to bring you some rebuilding messages on wednesday night a lot of you guys know the history of wednesday nights at highlands when we first started i was meeting with the launch team that helped us start the church in a home and it was just for the launch team but that meeting grew every i was meeting just wednesday nights but only with people who were what we would call today the dream team and people who weren't on that team just kept coming and it grew and grew and grew up like y'all this is not this is not for you and i saw that there was a hunger for god's word they just wanted it verse by verse they wanted a little bit more extended worship but they wanted more you know deep into the pool kind of a teaching and so that's what we did for years we had wednesday nights every wednesday night for 11 years and i mean i i had the grace to do it to be honest with you during that time i one of these pastors that was asking me to say when did you when did you stop i said honestly when the grace lifted it was because i was preparing you know two messages every week and i was back then i was you know preaching 48 out of the 52 sunnies a year too i mean it was it was kind of all all in uh during those those building years but now that we've gone through 2020 and i really feel like there's been uh you know the church has has i don't think our church has really suffered casualties or anything but there's definitely there's been a falling away and there's been people who have been realized that maybe they're not as strong as they want to be and so i prayed and i asked the lord i said lord i you know what can i do and the first decision i made is i'm going to inject myself more on wednesday nights i used to use this really for guest speakers but man i'm just going to get back to some old school ways and teach all the bibles that sound all right everybody and so so i'm not going to preach hard my voice is still kind of recovering but i'm not going to pre-trial but i want to teach you some things and and i really felt like what i needed to bring to us was what i would just simply call the big three if i was trying to put god back in you and give you spiritual disciplines and help you really really grow there are three areas that are vitally important for us and that is uh that we understand worship we understand the word of god and we understand prayer so if i was teaching you those are the big three what's interesting is is there are three named angels in the bible only three that have a name with them and i've already told you this in the previous weeks but if you're first time to this message series so to speak it was uh it was uh january uh april and now may because we had an anniversary service and then i was gone in in march but there was three names angels in the bible and of course we know lucifer but lucifer was in charge of the worship in heaven he's the only one by the way who is unemployed at this point he's not in the he's not he's he is an unemployed chair of everybody and he got himself kicked out because he wanted the worship so a lot of people think of the devil as just a wicked nasty he's really what he is is he's narcissistic let me just give it today's term you know we talk about how narcissistic this world has become when narcissism is self-worship that's what it is and that's existing in the church too uh and it's existing sometimes even among pastors you know they they build their brand more than they're building god you know what i'm saying and we've got to be careful of that and and the world's given us tools to be able to do it um through social media and you know just you everybody has a page i have my page well got to be careful about that really we we only god deserves the praise and worship amen everybody but that's what got him unemployed uh is and so i brought you a message that uh is is the deepest understanding and teaching of worship that i could give you in january if you want to go back and watch it uh the second angel uh is gabriel every time there's a message being delivered in scripture gabriel's the one behind it and uh and and that represents the uh the other third of what i think uh heaven's all about what church should be all about what your life should be all about and that is understanding the bible reading the bible getting into the word of god every day studying god's word knowing god's word and i brought you a message out of the the the the what the bible calls the elementary doctrines which aren't so elementary anymore and that's a sad commentary out of hebrews six but we talked about these six ba if you're going to get back to the basics of what doctrine is well they're found in hebrews chapter 6 and you can watch that message if you missed it and then of course uh the the third angel is michael that's always involved in in warfare or prayer in daniel chapter 10 daniel was on a 21-day fast and and and did not respond to daniel's prayer until the 21st day to which daniel was like where have you been i've been praying for 21 days and he said look on the first day that you started praying i was doing war in heaven on your behalf like there's a there's a war going on in the heavenlies and so prayer is important and when i say prayer i'm not just talking about kumbaya now i lay me down to sleep but i'm talking about communion with god and confrontation with the devil understanding how to really connect with god in a powerful way but also how to confront the enemy and so there's a lot that can be said and we have taught a prayer a lot tonight i want wanna just give you probably what i would consider to be the most helpful if you wanted to build your prayer life so i don't think i need to give any verses that would inspire you or talk you into the necessity of it to me that's never been the problem in fact if you ask even most lost people or people that are not in church they agree that prayer is important and even lost people pray so i think people know it's important like most people just don't enjoy it most people don't connect with god in it most people don't know what to say so there's a disconnect honestly because i don't think they really ever been taught and that was the disciples if you remember and they came they saw jesus praying and let me remind you that they would have they would have been taught prayers and given a prayer book at very young in their in their religious training they had prayers available to them but when they saw jesus praying they say teach us how to do that this is matthew 6. i want to teach us how to do that and that's when jesus said okay let me show you a pattern and of course he gave them the lord's prayer he says after this manner or in this way pray let's pray this way and he taught them how to pray i want to do that with us tonight and by the way tomorrow thursday the 6th is the national day of prayer and when i i would love to call all of us uh to standing and praying for revival in our nation come on we're going to pray for our leaders we're going to believe god for a move of god on earth can i hear a better amen everybody right it's very important so join with the nation our president and many others are going to be uh at prayer events and so i want us to jump in there and let's add our voice to the prayers that are that are going toward heaven and i'm asking god for a mighty revival in america i believe we really need it now i am very blessed that i was raised in a very strong praying church in fact my home church when i was when i was there was called bethany world prayer center they shortened it now it's just called bethany church but when i was there it was bethany world prayer center my pastor is a praying pastor he's still my pastor he's been my pastor since i was 15 years old i talked to him this week for about an hour we just got on the phone regularly just give him updates on my life tell him what's going on and he never ever ever ever ever i've never talked to him in my entire life that he didn't pray for me he just spent some time and just prayed for me and blessed me and it's always just glorious feels good to have a pastor everybody you you should be relieved that your pastor has a pastor and uh but he taught me prayer he uh we we had saturday prayer everything that you see here i learned at my home church pastor got up at four o'clock in the morning on a sunday he was sorry he was at the church at four o'clock on sunday mornings to pray i found that out now we this is a 2400 seat auditorium here at grants mill we had a 6 000 seat auditorium at my home church there in baton rouge and so he used to go come in at four o'clock in the morning i heard it about that and i didn't really know how to pray so i snuck in uh when i was on staff i used to sneak in at 4 am get up about 3 30 get dressed i live right near the church campus uh and i used to i had a key to the auditorium and without him seeing me i would go up into the you know to the top part and i like what are you doing for three hours and for years i watched my pastor pray and i watched how he just he literally went through every row we had pews you know six thousand six thousand six what sat six thousand people you know but it was pews you know what i'm talking about so it depends on what kind of person's on the pew whether it's gonna be six thousand or not all right so so anyway but i watched him lay hands on every row i watched him kneel behind the pulpit i watched him spend time with god on the front row like i was watching this and for years i would just ask him just like the disciples did jesus teach me how to pray i need to know how to pray and i'm going to give you the single greatest nugget i've ever learned in prayer okay and then i'm going to show you how you can do it so i'm just going to give you one single nugget i learned from the years that i watch what i consider be one of the greatest praying pastors i've ever met in my life pastor larry stockstill i want to share with you this this simple little thought and here it is and that prayer doesn't move god toward us now by the way it does god does move towards you but that's not what you should be thinking when you pray that prayer is not about it's really not about hey god you're there and i'm here in this mess and i need you to come down like i need you to come down and you need to get involved here that prayer is really actually the opposite it's more about me moving toward god so that's why the bible says we are seated with christ in heavenly places when it's describing when it's describing our interaction with god it's more about us aligning ourselves with him than trying to get god aligned with us and i think i think sometimes when we go into prayer we think it's our opportunity to inform god on what he's not been aware of obviously you're not watching so let me let you know where you need to get to work here brother you know what i'm saying but that's not it at all prayer is really it's a it's a movement it's a it's a movement toward god and i want you to think of it this way that he is in a place and you're trying to get there now you need to know that the hebrew says that because of the blood of jesus you can approach god with confidence knowing that your sins have been paid for in jesus name so you never do it with shame or any guilt or did i work hard enough doesn't matter jesus paid it all can i hear a good amen everybody so we approach the throne of grace but notice we approach james says it this way that we draw near to god and he draws near to us the point i'm trying to make is prayer if you can think of prayer is i am moving toward god think of it this way and please do not let this get inappropriate okay but whenever you're having when you're when you're married when you're married and you you want to have a nice evening of romance with your spouse uh it may start with a wow you look really nice and then it may go to a hey can i help you with dinner and then it might go to hey we're gonna have some dinner and then maybe it'll be a few minutes on the couch i'm gonna stop right there are y'all with me okay and they in it and it say it is a process toward intimacy but but you don't go straight to intimacy there is a process to intimacy there's a process to closeness that's true in any relationship that there's a movement toward to get the best of okay that's what i learned so when i think of praying in the mornings when i spend time with god i i'm already close to him guys jesus is already there are no barriers but i still take the steps toward him i call it the protocol to the presence of god that there's just a protocol i'm going to go here and then i'm going to go there and then i'm going to go there and i'm going to go there now in the old testament we don't live by the old testament anymore the old testament were patterns and laws but we do understand that in the new testament those have come alive jesus has not abolished them he has redeemed them and the in the process in the old testament was this thing called the tabernacle i'm going to teach you i'm going to go a little deeper than i ever have in the next just hopefully in the next 15 or 20 minutes give the deepest teaching i can around what i call the tabernacle prayer the tabernacle was the portable church before they became a permanent church the permanent church would be the temple on the temple mount there in jerusalem but before that while they were getting from egypt from the through the promised land to from mount sinai to the promised land they had a process a 40-year journey where god was a cloud by day and a fire by night and so they had portable church because he'd move without announcing his movement so god would just all of a sudden the cloud would just shift and everybody had to pack up and when he stopped they reset up church it was a it was a portable church basically it was like we do with half of our campuses every sunday morning and the bible says have the people of israel build me a holy sanctuary watch this here's always the goal of your time with god so that i might live among them so that there can be that level of intimacy in your time with god and by the way that's the most ultimate win of prayer is that you're emerging from it saying i just had time with god i just i just spent time with god i was just with jesus i spent time with him are you all following me everybody yes he says so you must build this tabernacle and it's furnishings exactly to a pattern i'm going to show you now what we understand in scripture and in theology as these patterns in the old testament have meaning in the new testament today and i'm going to show you the pattern today the tabernacle basically looked like this it was a tent that had no top it was rectangular in shape and it had some furniture in this what was called the outer court of this tabernacle but in the in the tent that had no top there was a tent with the top a smaller rectangular temp that entire tent was called the holy place and even that one was divided by a veil so in the middle of this one you can't see it because it's covered but right in the middle was a veil that separated where the ark of the covenant was and in the very back if you've ever watched raiders of the lost ark you know what the ark of the covenant looks like okay so the goal here's my thought and the goal is that you're you start out on the outside but you took steps there were pieces of furniture that the priests and you're a kingdom of priest the new testament says so you you have every right to approach god in jesus name but they would still go through these protocols or these steps to get to god and it's a beautiful thought honestly because i think they all have new testament and powerful meanings for us i'm going to show you what they are the bible says inside the tenor meeting the lord would speak to moses face to face as one speaks to another that's what i want for you and again as i've told you jesus said don't think i've come to get rid of these patterns in the old testament the law and the prophets i've actually not come to abolish them but to fulfill them so there are seven steps and six pieces of furniture because the first step has no furniture the first step actually was this outer court so you're not even approaching any you're just coming through the gates the opening of the of the big tent with no top and it was called the outer court and the bible's very clear there that you always begin by giving god two things both thanks and praise that's what psalms 100 says enter his gates the gates literally were the opening to when you begin to approach god the point being is that you would never approach god with hey i'm in a hurry and i kind of need you to move here now by the way god does not mind your 9 11 prayers like you're like okay i'm in trouble and i really don't have he he's a reasonable god right and he's not going no you didn't really you didn't take all the steps i'm just saying when you have time to spend time with god before i say give me a give me give me my name is jimmy we ought to just say lord i'm just very grateful i want to begin before i even say anything that if you didn't do anything else for me you've done enough and i'm just so grateful for you lord god and i'm giving him thanks for who for what he's done and i'm giving him praise for who he is and so you think of it that way thank you for what you've done i praise you for who you are so so as we as we're just thanking the lord just with all of our heart we're we're just letting them know the benefits and the the things you've done in my life i just want to give you praise and that's why even jesus's prayer the lord's prayer he says our father who art in heaven hallowed be your name you're spending this moment just to connect with his greatness and who he is psalm 103 is my favorite psalm in the entire bible if you ever wanted to know not that that might not be interesting to you but that's what it is okay i love this psalm praise the lord o my soul and all that is in me my inmost being praise your name forgetting not all of your benefits and then he mentions five you hear me quote this psalm a lot five benefits that god has done for you that if he never answers another prayer these are enough who forgives all your sins come on somebody who heals all your diseases who redeems your life from the pit who crowns your your your crowns you with love and compassion and satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles so every morning i thank the lord for those five things lord you are my salvation and i'm grateful you are my healer and i am grateful you have redeemed me i was in a pit now i'm not my feet are on a rock you've set me free and i'm grateful you have you crowned me with love and compassion love and compassion is something you didn't have before you met god that's why i say you've transformed me i used to be a jerk you changed my life god come on somebody and you have satisfied my desires with good things you bless me it's the fireful benefit of what god's done for salvation healing redemption transformation and blessing and i'm just so grateful so if you never do another thing god i'm just so grateful and i just want to thank you for what you've done can we take 10 seconds and thank god for us just here's what he's done for us and now you step in and the first piece of furniture you see was called the brazen altar it was literally an altar where animal sacrifice had to be there because you can't approach god with sin and only blood takes care of sin so let me just say if that's the most simplest way i can say it you can't approach god with sin and so what pays for sin is blood and that's why the the blood of the lamb of jesus was that sacrifice once and for all so otherwise we'd be killing animals tonight and we're so glad grateful we're not having to do that amen everybody that'd be great okay all right but but they they would have to be the shedding of blood for the remission of sins and so they would pass by blood they'd have to see something dead on their behalf i don't want you to think about that like you had to walk by it and go they'd be alive if i hadn't that would be alive that's what jesus did for you the brazen altar represents the cross and it would it would do you well before you get into lord i really need or i have this just to stop and just think about the cross i even have in my playlist on my thank you song i had like two thank you songs in my prayer playlist and my next songs are all blood cross songs i was just just worshiping the blood just thanking god for the cross of jesus and remembering and it would just do you well just to take a minute or two and stop right there and just think about what jesus did on the cross isaiah saw the cross 400 years before the cross happened when he said that he was pierced that's that's the nails for your transgressions the transgression is what is when you cross a line you transgressed you went too far so and your hands represent what you do so he was actually pierced for what you did he was crushed for our iniquities the crushing is talking about the spear that went in the into the heart and iniquity is not a transgression and iniquity is the condition of your soul so it's it's the evilness of our heart without god it's the it's that we hate and we're mean and we're but that's in iniquity and hit so in our and that's in our hearts so he had a spear his heart was crushed to pay for where our hearts are all messed up is that making sense to everybody and then the punishment that brought us peace that's talking about the crown the punishment they actually said the crown was the punishment on his head brought us peace where are you not at peace in your mind that's why he took it on his head are y'all following this everybody so that you could be free in your mind and then by his wounds that's the stripes that we are healed so every morning when i say lord thank you for the nails that give me freedom from the stuff that i did and i actually just i appropriate the cross for my freedom and god that means that all those things that i did i don't even want to do them anymore you're not even you didn't just forgive me you're changing me god and my past is not even even who i am anymore thank you for changing me see the difference and lord god then you're healing me every place where i was hurt or mad at somebody or had unforgiveness or wounds god jesus took the spirit in his heart so that my heart could be pure and clean and healthy and right and lord i'm asking you today god for the places where people have disappointed me or life has disappointed me or where my heart's gotten polluted because i've allowed something in it lord this morning as i spend time with you lord i'm asking you god as that spear went in your heart god you would change mine make it just like you lord i want to be healed in jesus name are you all getting it everybody just spending some time going to the lord i thank you god i have i'm free from anxiety and fear and worry and stress god i have the peace of god because you took the punishment on your head so it never have to be in my head thank you god for setting me free and lord god you took the whip on your back so that my body there will be no addiction there will be no habits there will be i will not let my body reign and rule in my life god you set me free and not only that god but you've healed my body thank you you've got a sickness and disease has no dominion over me because you already paid for it and so there's no reason for me to pay for it the blood come on everybody are you grateful for the cross and then right before they went into that second tenth that had a top right before it right before there was a bowl of water called a laver actually by the way it was made of mirrors so that when you washed you saw your own reflection you could you could see yourself and that's where they washed the laver was the act of cleansing before you take those next steps so we thanked god we remembered the price that was paid so that we could take another step but now we say lord and now i need you to do a continuing work in my life and at the labor we offer every part of our life to god just lord here you go so god my day my wife my wife my my family my my job god my mind my appointments like and i what i like to do i like to go body part by body part and i know that sounds kind of funny but there's actually a verse that says it therefore i urge you brothers in view of god's mercy to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice this is actually worship to jesus what that looks like is so lord today i'm giving you my mind my mind's gonna think things that are pure and i'm gonna guard my mind against anything that would be allowed in it that would be impure and god that's going to have to work with my eyes too as job said i'm going to make a covenant with my eyes that i'm not going to look lustfully at a woman today god i'm going to let my eyes be pure eyes today my ears i want my ears sensitive to your voice in john chapter 10 and turning away from the voice of the devil god i want my ears tuned in to you today lord let my mouth ephesians 4 29 only speak things that build people up nothing's coming out of my mouth today that'll tear people down let my my words be a blessing to people i want people to laugh feel loved god i'm gonna speak life in every situation y'all follow me everybody my hands today i'm gonna go out there and help as many people as i can my feet ordered of the lord my body is a living sacrifice to you let my life be worshipped to you today in jesus name and i just go through the the offering that's the labor and because you look in and you think lord that's not what it should be so god let's get it all cleaned up in jesus name come on somebody and if you do this every day god begins to change you you know just glory to glory little by little y'all get anything out of this everybody i'm almost done i'm almost done but then you step into that second tent but now we're in the half before the veil because you can't still you're in it you're covered you can't see the ark of the covenant because there's this veil there but there were there were three pieces of furniture in that first half and the first was you've seen these before that seven prong candlestick and it would be burning with perpetual fed oil and it represents the power of the holy spirit and it's there that i invite the work of the holy spirit now take this the wrong way i can do some things i'm i'm a trained and and somewhat talented person in some areas i can i can do some things it's not enough and you're good at what you do without god but you'd be better with him and this is where i declare my dependence upon the power of the holy spirit that not by might nor by power but by his spirit says lord i need the spirit of god now i'm going to give you these quick three there's three things three things i pray that i i think activates the holy spirit on the inside of you the first is the spirit the the seven-fold spirit of the lord it's found in isaiah 11 2 pray it every single day without fail lord i want the spirit of the lord i want the spirit of wisdom the spirit of understanding the spirit of counsel the spirit of might the spirit of knowledge and i need the fear of the lord every single day lord god i need the spirit of the lord the spirit of the fear lord the spirit of wisdom counsel might knowledge and understanding i need every day in my life and sometimes i slow down on those and say god give me some might today because i'm feeling fairly weak god i need the spirit of god that gives me understanding to situations nobody else can figure out god today i want to be full of counsel let me say just the right words that changes that situation and then when i say it i'm thinking where did you learn that you never learned that in your life it was the holy ghost on the inside of me that's where it was but it's because i prayed for it and of course one of the most important there is god give me the fear a healthy dose of the fear of the lord i just you're not afraid of god that's not what fear of the lord means it just means this deep reverent respect and it keeps me from sin and it makes my my way pure come on somebody and then i get into the fruit of the spirit and you know these the fruit of the spirit love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness genuineness and self-control and that's god i need you to work these in me and i'm going to slow down when i talk about patience and i just need you can't read patience really fast right everybody or just slow down lord i need work these in me i need the fruit of the spirit and then finally the gifts of the spirit the bible says in first corinthians that eagerly desire spiritual gifts especially the gift of prophecy and so those are 12 of them nine of them mentioned in first corinthians 12 and i pray for them every day lord give me tongues interpretation of tongues and prophecy workings and miracles gift of healing's gift of faith god are you following me everybody i need the gift of discerning the spirits i need to get the wisdom i need to get the knowledge lord i'll take you got a gift if your toolbox has it and you're willing to give it to me bring it on i'll take whatever you have for my life i i want to i don't want to be a good chris i want to be full of the spirit of god come on and i think you pray it every day this is my favorite way to pray i'm giving you the this process and everything notice with me with every step it gets a little deeper more rich and you're a little closer to god with every step too it's the protocol you're taking steps toward god and then you go to the other side from that candlestick from that little room and there would be a table that had 12 freshly baked loaves of bread that you could smell and you wanted to pull up a chair and get some butter everybody right it literally would smell so good and it would represent the word of god the word of god and it smells good so you'll want to consume it and literally i stop right there and i pick up my bible in the middle of my prayer time and this is where i open god's word and i say i don't want to just read it i want to eat it consume it because man does not live the bible says man shall not live on natural bread but every word that comes from the mouth of god that's the bible and i literally and y'all gonna think this may be a little weird but i get my bible and i don't stop reading it i go through the one-year bible and don't stop reading it till i get a rev y'all know what a rev is everybody a little revelation a little something like wow okay that's good and then i stop y'all ever had a great bite of food in your mouth and you're just like you just don't want to swallow that you just want to chew that'll nail a while and that's literally what i do i stop i just okay there it is there it is and i just chew it and i swallow it and i literally again you might think this is weird but after i'm finished i hold my bible to my chest and i just say that was just so good and i actually kissed my bible his words are like honey on my lips and and then i lay it down and i thank god and then i use the word of god in my prayer time because because the word of god is the sword of the spirit now i'm going to use it i'm getting ready to get into intercession here and now the bible says the bible says you can take your stand against the devil's schemes you can take the sword of the spirit which is the word of god now i'm getting get ready to go there but there's one more stop before we do that and right before you impart that veil to go in to see the ark of the covenant and by the way that's where the cloud by day or the fire by night was hovering right there over that ark of the cove that's where they wanted to get you're always wanting to get right there because remember i'm not just saying god move toward me i'm moving toward god best lesson i've ever learned in prayer is just i'm going to find you i'm going to search for you i'm coming after you god i'm i'm i'm coming after you there was one more piece of furniture it was a little bitty box that was burning incense kind of smell like bed bath and beyond come on somebody right and it was it always represents worship worship and for me i'm not a big kneeler because it hurts you know so i don't do it a lot but i get on my knees and i just give him worship just for a few minutes and i ascribe to the lord the glory that is due his say this world do his and it's just his names his names and i'm getting ready to go way too fast and don't freak out this is all in our prayer booklet so don't feel like you have to write these down but i go through the eight covenant names of god you are jehovah sid caneu you're my righteousness you are jehovah mackettish my sanctifier you are jehovah rapha my healer you are jehovah jireh my provider you are jehovah nisi my banner of victory over the devil you give me a banner that says we the champs your jehovah shalom my peace your jehovah rayah my shepherd that which means you're instructing me guiding me correcting me talking to me i don't really even have to think too much if i'll just stay in tune with my shepherd your rod your staff they come for me they'll direct me you're jehovah shama who is the lord who's always there that's the holy spirit by the way right there with me and if you want to get these get your phone out put it there you can take it those guys that want them really fast there's the first four one two three done and there's the the next four one two three okay all right i see something you're like all right come on now tyler we're going to pray but now you part that veil by the way and by the way they they parted the veil they had a they had a rope tied around the priest's ankle and um that was long it was it was hanging out the holy place and when he parted the veil if he had sinned um it looked like the raiders lost ark movie and his face would melt and he disappeared i mean it was bad so seriously he would die if he was in sin they knew if the priest had sinned because when he parted that veil if he was in sin and got where god was he'd actually if you saw god you died and so they ain't they're not going there to get him so they've used the rope just to pull him out i'm not just in the bible you can go look that up right it's there but when jesus went to the cross the bible says he ripped the veil the veil was torn into you he wanted to make sure you never had another barrier to god and you never got nervous approaching god but don't stop approaching him i think sometimes we treat god like we treat our marriage we work so hard to get them and then once we've got them we're not working hard anymore look listen to me god still likes to be pursued even though you found him he still wants you to look for him and go after him and he'd go there to the ark of the covenant you know what it looks like those angels that were covering their eyes both the tips of the wings touching each other the center place right here was called the mercy seat if you ever see that in scripture that's the mercy seat and that's where god dwelled but when they went there you thought what do you do what do you do when you're actually with god like what do you do i want to make sure you know because what real priests do when they get there [Music] again i'm kind of sick of the narcissistic self-worshiping generation that exists right now that gets there and it's like okay god i'm gonna sit here and let just let you love on me and we just wanna sit there and just look god loves loving but that's not what we're there for it's all the scriptures are clear the second the priest stood before god and the glory god came and you're a priest you went there to intercede for others you're now you're now like okay they're out there and i'm in here with you and can i talk to you about them because they need you and they interceded on behalf and that's why first timothy last verse says says this says this that i urge you that when you get with god but you make prayers petitions intercession thanksgiving be made for if you want to know who to pray for here's what the bible says all people that's what that's who all people and then for kings and for those in authority and if you'll do that god will move and you'll have a quiet and peaceful life and all godliness and that's what we want so i want to invite you right there where you are to stand and we're actually going to be the first to we're actually going to be the the pep rally before the national day of prayer tomorrow and we're going to go ahead and prime the pump tonight how about that everybody because listen to me you spent time with the lord we pretty much have gone through all these steps tonight in this worship service and you're with jesus right now god's in this place everybody and i'd invite you just to lift up those hands and every one of our locations and let's just begin to worship him and can i just take about two minutes for us to lead us in prayer would you join me right now come get this tv guys and to ban y'all come on up and father i thank you lord god for your presence that's in our life thank you for the blood of jesus thank you god that we're washed we're full of the holy spirit thank you for your word lord god and we worship you with all of our hearts and now with one voice god we raise our voice for our generation according to your word lord god we pray for all people for everyone lord we pray that they be saved we're praying for revival we're praying god you move in our generation we're praying for churches we're praying for pastors god we're asking you to move in our land in the mighty name of jesus lord we say there is one god and he is true and lord we pray for your life to shine in our generation lord we're praying for the power of god to move in our families in our marriages in our children lord i'm asking you that you move god in our jobs god you move in our finances god i'm praying for health and strength and healing and god that you move in our hearts and our minds in jesus name father we want to be a generation who declares your name and so god we pray lord god if you live in america and move around the world but you bless missionaries and works every place god let your name be glorified we pray to him who sits upon the throne and unto the land be blessing and glory and honor and power forever and ever come on church lift your voice and sing it
