Swimming Pool Leak? Try 'Fix a Leak'.

I've got a slow leak in my swimming pool and I suspect it's the pipe connecting to the bottom of the skimmer so first of all I'm going to run a test I should turn the pump off and then close the skimmer valve I'm now going to plug up the bottom of the skimmer okay move the top of the skimmer take out the basket and it's the pipe joining the exit hole there which it looks a bit damaged to me so I can kind of first of all plug it up I'm going to use one of these plugs get the mini swimming pool shop push it and then tighten it up so now the water is just going to circulate through the sump at the bottom of the pool as the skimmer is blocked and turned off at the tap I'm now going to run the pump for 48 hours to see whether this has stopped the leak now run the pump for 48 hours and circulated the water just through the sump and the level has not gone down at all so the leak must be in the skimmer pipe I'm going to take the water down just below the skimmer before I apply the treatment I found this product made in Canada fix a leak found it on eBay 33 euros for 8 fluid ounces which is 200 milliliters Spanish company free shipping 33 euros and it was shipped within two days so I'm hoping this is going to do the job because it's quite difficult to get to at the bottom of the skimmer I don't want this going everywhere I'm going to transfer it into this squeezy bottle it's just a Vince aid empty bottle for the dishwasher cleaned it out well so I should put that into here so it'd make it a lot easier to direct exactly where I want it give the bottle good shape or in here make sure it all goes in the new bottom so I should leave that there for a little while and it drips through it's quite thick okay put the squirty nozzle on so you've got control of where you squirt it it doesn't just pour out so there I can direct that quite easily with that let's apply half the bottle down the fitting it's heavy on the water so it will always sink to the bottom okay give it a bit of a stir up and let me out a bit just go draw a little bit of the water flow from the pump to waste don't let it go into the filter always select filter bypass on your pump setting or recirculate okay I've drawn some of the water through let's put the rest in stir it around again right that's it I'm now going to leave it for 48 hours to cure and harden it should so leaks of holes of a diameter of a quarter inch or about three millimeters so we'll check back in two days after two days put the pump to waste flush that through and then take it around to recirculation so not going through the filter for another 10 minutes and it should have build clear and then you can go back to the North Station fire up your pump anyway you got okay top the pull-up I've got a marker on the side there which needs to come up about the water needs to come out about two inches run the pool normally for three days check the level on that mark and if it hasn't moved it's worked perfectly good luck
