The day of that tragedy . You see him on the water aboard that vessel that has since been seized by Florida Fish and Wildlife, his lawyer releasing that video saying she believes that this supports what they have been saying. If the 78 Year-Old hit L.A. Adelson while out on the water, he had no clue as he calmly returned home. This newly released home surveillance video shows the moments before, before and after Carlos Bill Alonso left his Coral Gables estate the day Ella Adler was struck and killed while out on the water. Florida Fish and Wildlife officers believe the 78 year old was operating the vessel that struck the 15 year old on Saturday, May 11th. >> He had no idea that an accident had occurred, much less that he might have been involved if Bill hit anything, let alone a person he absolutely would have stopped the tragedy has since gained national attention . >> Alonso's lawyer releasing the video, writing in a statement, quote, Bill was alone. He was not drinking, and he had no clue that he may have hit someone. He parked the boat at his home. He was calm. He did not clean the boat and he did not try to hide anything. In this video you can see Alonso preparing the vessel and eventually departing around 3 p.m. FWC investigators say Adler and another teen were being towed in Biscayne Bay near Nixon Beach after wakeboarding around 4 p.m. It's in this area. Adler was struck and killed by a vessel matching Alonso's boat roughly 30 minutes later. You can see the seasoned boater returning to his dock, his lawyer saying he is devastated by the tragedy, writing in part, quote, we hope this video helps to shut down some of the awful and unfounded rumors that are going on about Bill. All right? And charges have not been filed. The investigation still very much ongoing by Florida Fish and Wildlife. The 78 year old is said to be fully cooperating with law enforcement.
