this is a Tik Tok where I use a potato to explain what's happening at the supreme court on Wednesday as it relates to abortion rights Idaho and if pregnant people are second class citizens hey I'm Idaho in our state you only get abortion if you're going to die without it not if you end up disabled or a little bit injured only if you're going to die Idaho yeah I'm the federal government we passed a law in the 80s called mtala which means that if you show up in an ER and you're having an emergency you get stabilized or treated regardless if you can't pay this includes pregnancy Idaho whatever we even passed a memo that said imala is the law of the land even in a ban state if somebody shows up sick enough needing an abortion they get it please the feds are trying to force us to do abortions when you're not dead enough yet and in Idaho our law is better than your federal laws you come to reer and you need an abortion if you're not almost dead you're not getting it okay I've had enough Idaho there is verbiage in mtala that says that the federal law out rules your state law so we will see you at the Supreme Court so as you can see there's been a lot of back and forth in lower courts so now it's going to the Supreme Court while they're hearing arguments this week they may not rule till July how they rule May determine if people like me show up pregnant to Idaho emergency rooms and get denied care and end up disabled or harmed in the name of bean Pro lifee
