Supermom gets a big surprise! || STEVE HARVEY

[Applause] all right Folks at just 29 my next guest not only beat breast cancer she did it while juggling Life as a single mom please welcome Ryan Ryan let's start with how how did you discover you had breast cancer well at that time in my life I was at going through a divorce and um you know dealing with the fact that I I mean I had a three month old and I had an almost three-year-old son one evening I was taking a shower and I felt like what felt like a um like a lump in my armpit that felt like an ingrown hair and so I called my primary care physician the next morning long story short ended up being an aggressive form of breast cancer when I say aggressive they they grade the tumor based off of how fast it's going so one being the slowest growing and nine being the fastest and I was an eight wow so H how' you balance treatment and all of that because it's got to be pretty tough being a single Mall well since it was so aggressive I immediately started chemotherapy and so I would fly from Oklahoma to Phoenix on Friday every third Friday and I would get chemotherapy which lasted four to 6 hours MH and then I would come home that same day spend time with my family on Saturday go to church on Sunday back to work on Monday and then you know after I finished chemotherapy I I did radiation and so radiation's every day and so I did that in Oklahoma and so I would go on my lunch break get radiation go back to work go back next day really yes you know with my kids being so young and their mom going through a divorce because this is all happening at the same time I I didn't want them to see to see their mothers sick I didn't want them to have to worry about potentially losing their mother wow and so I hid that from them because I mean it's already um I mean it's already hard enough yeah so I just I just kind of did my best and you know I was blessed because I had the support of my parents I had friends and family but most importantly God that helped me get through this absolutely absolutely how about now how you how you doing now well um you know I am doing great I'm sitting here today with you and I am 100% cancer free so uh I I say that you know that's a blessing um the thing is is that from a financial standpoint I'm still recovering I still have like $10,000 worth of medical expenses but when you think of it as you know you're cancer free I get to be there for my children you you can't put a a monetary value on that yeah Absol and so I feel that I'm very blessed [Music] M I also uh I I also understand that you're paying it forward househ so I volunteer with Susan G Coman and so I help with like their newly diagnosed breast cancer patients by talking with them I go to doctor's appointments to like chemotherapy and sit there with them with patients and just just uh listen to them or people who may not have health insurance um helping them find resources so they can get a mammogram because early detection is very very important right and also uh this I'll be participating in my third Race for the Cure this year wow well uh Ryan's mom Kim is in the audience uh Kim Kim what do you want to say about Ryan first off Steve she's a miracle she she is really a miracle I'm so proud of her she works so hard at giving back and showing her appreciation for how she's been blessed but she really she needs some pampering now it's time for her to be pampered and uh it is her her dad's hope and mine that one day that she'd meet a really nice [Laughter] man M that don't Mama they don't never get off that do they no sure wed to me and her Daddy was just show hoping she could meet a nice man somewhere cuz that other bastard didn't work I'm sorry uh listen you know uh Ryan your your strength and and courage has really been inspirational uh that's why we voted you out as our Super Mom you're our Super Mom yeah now today a super mom now that's not the only surprise because see I'm a spokesperson for a company called Green
