[Music] all right so as we're beginning this play through I want to AP oliz uh to Elliot Matt H and Uncle why because I'm going to kill the group with this game okay neat I look good P yeah you know uh Hey everybody uh welcome back to another sgb playr and uh this time we all got to play unfortunately yeah this is the latest 2D Classic Sonic and this is Sonic Superstars I don't want to SP hard too long on this one but I poke fun it in the video cuz my review of this is going live pretty soon uh so the last game that Nima helped design was Balon Wonder World and that was with eugin nakaka yeah uh and after everything that happened with eugin nakaka I figured I'm just going to go back to Sonic I mean at least someone went to jail for that one not the reasons you made thing I'll we ready to go who's going to be who I'm Knuckles uh sure unlike knuckles I don't chuckle uh oh the Amy I like I like this design Amy she's ad oh no oh no oh no oh no is that Lego Knuckles what the is yeah I'm going to say I'm going to say this helping John record this game for the review [ __ ] sucked God damn and know that that's incentive enough for going after the gold medals uh suck I think I think battle mode in this game is pretty middling like it's not awful it's just there yeah it's it's the golden of mini stuff like mini games oh I forgot the [ __ ] music doesn't stop when you play the emerald poers so the the soundtrack is just kind of a mess right now oh boy which is nothing new for Sonic Superstars I'm aware but like still oh my God I don't want to keep doing these yeah this this feels like a little bit of a I just just going to fall just airor out yeah or assuming it doesn't automatically swap Lego tail don't give them don't give them [ __ ] Lego tail watch takes so long holy [ __ ] holy [ __ ] yo you're going so far back you're unloading the entire holy [ __ ] what's that in the bottom there go work guys he's not over yet if you're whatever you think a boss fight's over in this game it's not you're right you're ready for nearly a minute of nothing thankfully there are four of us so we can speed this up tremendously or until the game says we can hit him good job everybody I like the explosion yeah yeah yeah where to go me and I didn't help I just stood there and look pretty I looked uh wait I know exactly what to do fine power up goat [ __ ] Knuckles that took 7 Seconds the multiplayer of this game is a is a mess again it's just the what the hell the Frog was capping you the frog has me ah the frog has me Knuck you all right shut up dude eat my ass Sonic and like there's like if there's going to be people saying like oh show off like some of the other like show off some of the other things we will if we get there [ __ ] Christ hey teamwork I was going to hit that too you know do we have a high five button what do you think this is Mario Party okay and and true to Sonic form you just ditched Amy off the vine get off the vine they shut it down going that that's so dumb it's not even on this get hit by a parked car and going to the hospital to be fair like depending on how fast you approach that parked car yeah that could actually really describing the sound the the the blocks make when they appear and disappear oh okay I think like the Japanese autom myia for that was Yoku oh okay uh so that they call them Yoku blocks that's what I I think it is I might be Mis like the doy doie blocks yeah right in Japan they're known as they're known as Mario blocks yeah wait why are we talking about noi blocks Sonic one out all right you got a chance no why did it focus on [ __ ] I hit that button by accident I'm not going to touch the button this time okay okay okay I got I got it I got it all Sonic one out I'm used to having to do things I'm not used to multiplayer games where the point is don't do anything let every well then again that's Sonic Team what's going on with my shadow there oh huh you see that my shadow you're getting like light sources from multiple spots bug nuts no I don't know what that is yeah is it still yeah it's still doing it's still doing it oh it's the shadow of my dead compatriots see shadows in the game is Sonic secretly dead in Sonic Superstars this scene is definitive proof that William Aton is actually black what a theory you're not just the entire circus you're a clown Sonic Bor I guess if you want like the best way to farm Metals I guess play with your friends is incentive enough that requires you actually giving a [ __ ] about the battle that requ you having friends and for them to remain your friends now who's got the batteries for Game Gear shake my hand so wait how many AXS are there uh there's two no I mean I mean I mean stages I mean stages um there are 11 zones but not all of them are twox you know what I mean yeah I know we'll be fine Elliot oh my God this thing no knuckles no I mean keep going Tails go go we ball how far can we do this no wait where did I go wait what what go knuckles go hey hey look at that [ __ ] [ __ ] the roller coaster discovering new strats here oh my God good [ __ ] there we go so multiplayer want to work does have a silver lining don't strangely enough like the multiplayer does give me a better camera angle for this section too because the camera is way too [ __ ] close otherwise like oh towards single player why why IGN agrees reviewers say why oh no they got one right cuz uh Vision only reveals hidden platforms and Rings oh okay in level design oh I think I know that's what I've been doing cool it's good that Tails yeah yeah tails is that definitely the you know the regular tals suck but you Lego taals I like you you're a block above the regular Tails just had a heart attack somewhere off screen the the thing he's going down the escalator yeah it's not fair yeah it's like I want to play the game oh my God look it's following me I'm playing the game I got hit and I'm dead cuz God forbid my pixel ended up off the screen that one right there yeah and hit square and then you can just look at that don't get hurt though don't get hit well yeah yeah yeah I turn into a floating Sonic if you hit the x button again I Mario say the game reminded that you're playing sonic that's kind of what I'm thinking right now so if we accidentally find ourselves another one that's the special that's the Sonic one special yeah but just yeah it just kind of feels like like all right I'm I'm I'm not succeeding in getting through the level it's just we're brute forcing it somebody's making it and then we push the button and it advances us like I did everything right there wait what the [ __ ] oh [ __ ] us oh [ __ ] you oink uh you got to wait for him to start chasing us God godamn [ __ ] did I die no did you I run where I was on oh so now I can be off the screen I just spun Dash right into the [ __ ] thing it's all right we did it oh that was kind of cool that's like when you finish Solitaire uh but then when they brought him back for this game they gave him a new alias Fang the sniper no Fang the hunter sorry uh and like the the the endgame reason is he's a bounty hunter and he changes aliases all the time because he's wanted what is must be nice must be nice for what to be wanted not that kind of wanted oh Jesus Christ you remember Aladdin yeah I was going to say when the [ __ ] did we get to Aladdin uh the platforms always follow you so is the cave of W the oh my God sounds like a [ __ ] sounds like a [Music] swan oh no Mega Man is Turbo man's arch nemesis dementor that's just sad yeah that's just sad actually was that the genie no stop this stop this now Ah that's good no stop come back almost back at least you [ __ ] walk waffle yes so this is what I mean so this cut scene plays no matter what uh and the reason why I think the game always assumes you have seven chos Syms because what's going to happen here so trip's going to reveal her face oh wow she's a dragon a she's a lizard uh but when she Taps into the power of the seven Chaos OS dude she transforms into a [ __ ] Dragon oh so I did imagine her yeah he she came she came she became real yeah a I didn't have to imagine her after all hey I'm a girl and she's getting e oh there's another girl two girls no don't laugh at her you [ __ ] robot and there we go then that's Sonic Superstars she has anxiety finally a relatable character it's nice to have some extra there's more going back to the anxiety thing though it's like yeah it is nice to have some other representation beforehand the only character I could relate to was Eggman uh how so he's white that's [ __ ] hell that's all it takes though you know you know silver Silver's white no over silver no I am a Puerto Rican we have to go up yeah I'm trying but I do it and then the game doesn't want to follow me camera doesn't focus on us why just fine go right a different way a I'm dead oh no you get hit once you go all the way down oh F wait wait wait wait timed me out no no the attack was over so the gravity was turned back on yeah just bad luck that time yeah it's just you you got to get there faster that's what I was trying to avoid yeah look it stopped the platform what what you will play this game by its rules [ __ ] this game this game only and only am died from that and only Amy died from that I died wow uh no one per uh one per thing three two more just two more all right uh Uncle I need you to stay here cuz I'm going to I'm going to try and cheese him with burst oh not burst what do you mean stay here like die keep going no go as a death before cuz it did not unload the the death plane you can't even be happy you won yeah yeah like when you know when I'm when I'm happy that it's over you [ __ ] up yeah oh thank God thank God he alive just the Sonic show we're gone we're not there but our shadows are we're dead our shadows were there but we're not God it's over we are sadly forgotten this is like those look at these guys this is like those moments in the movies where they where the win they they win and then the hero just starts crying cuz it's over holy smokes so yeah needless to say uh there is an entirely uh a single player Centric post game that's trip story it takes place after this what would he [ __ ] do and it's a much harder version of this game and I don't like it uh and and then there's the there's The Last Story segment which only after you complete the original campaign trip story and you have all seven Chaos which I think is the first time a classic Sonic game had a last story segment yeah um so uh but the last story segment is just a super sonic no wait technically I guess Sonic 3D Blast it didn't let youl the last level unless you had the game unless you had the you're not wrong I mean if you want to CL classify the same yeah I let we know what you feel Greg how do you feel fantastic Johnny I I already made a review on this so you can just go on some okay no on it's it's a decent game it is a good game for for my experience for what I have seen so here's my unique experience of it is and I guess Matt you're kind of the same way too all I've seen is the multiplayer version of this game and the single player it looks like the single player game might be fun yeah but my only experience at this point is the multiplayer and it was about 85% % bad [ __ ] you dude it was just like literally the same thing how I felt with Cave Story I don't want to B experience on I'm sure there's a great single player game here I'm sure that people have a lot of fun with it despite knowing and admitting exactly what's wrong with the game but multiplayer is a disaster not the way to go it it was not at all optimized for multiplayer in any way whatsoever I feel like the game itself wasn't optimized properly yeah this game needed another [ __ ] like month or month or two with in uh QA yeah because this thing they wanted to release it to compete with Mario wonder and that was [ __ ] stupid they didn't releas going to compete with Mario Wonder like it just this is what they had in mind for this time of the year because Sonic Williams they always put a number uh Sonic game on for the holiday season uh the thing is is that this needed another two three months in QA but I what they're going to do again and I and I want to be wrong I'm saying this cuz I want to be wrong they're going to they're not going to patch it until they release like an an extended version of it Yep they're going to charge you 10 bucks to fix the [ __ ] that's broken um or they're just not going to do anything and that's that's worst case scenario right um I'm hoping I'm wrong I want to be wrong because there is a great game here and it is a great game solo except for the boss fights the boss fights just suck big floppy donkey dick no matter what uh but multiplayer is a disaster battle mode we're not even going to bother with that like folks I I can't I can't we can't just enough how happy we are this is just done which is not a good sign overall for I'm mentally and physically exhausted we hope you enjoyed our Shenanigans and don't get me wrong there were there were great highlights to this like I can't wait to watch the playback on this don't get me wrong like in in in hindsight in post looking back and laughing at this is going to be great I I have I have never laughed yeah as hard during one of these recordings as I ever did as I ever have since a few minutes ago and it was not for the good for the best reasons how long are these credits uh they're really long actually yeah all right folks we talking Mighty number nine or Batman Arkham Origins uh Scott Pok versus the world damn wow uh yeah well that's where we're going to call folks thank God we can do battle mod for like a Smackdown Sunday later down the road I'm not I don't care about that right now I at this point I don't even want to be looking at this game I I don't want to hold a controller with with this game on the other end siling hey we got Mark follow Uncle uh are we're going to be following this up immediately with Mario Wonder on the switch and I think that will be much that'll be a much more pleasant experience I'm not saying we're not going to have any [ __ ] there most of the [ __ ] is probably going to be yeah it's going to be deliberately invoked yeah uh so well we'll see what
