Hey, there artists! Welcome to the new
acrylic pouring video. My name is Olga Soby. And today I'm gonna do a dancing flow on
a really dark and deep Prussian blue base, the color of the flow is going to be turquoise.
So, I'm working with a cooler color palette today, and once it's dry I want to do embellishment to
create a beautiful line that goes through the flow to emphasize the 3d effect in the painting.
So let's see how it turns out, let's get started. "Empowering" is a secret message
today. I really want this painting to be super empowering, especially with
the embellishment that I have in mind. And I'm working on a 14 by 18 inches cradled
wood panel. As always all the color names and supplies are in the description, so check it
out. And let's start working on that base. So... So that was Prussian blue but I also
prepared a little bit of greenish blue, just to lighten up this base a little bit
and give it a dimension. Let's swipe it out. I like a lot how these colors
are working together, of course, it's going to dry much darker, but even
right now it's beautiful, very serene. I totally love how my base looks right now,
maybe a little more torching. Let's create that flow alignment, so I want to go like
this. First I want to create it with white. You can see where white blends into that Prussian
blue. Oh, this is gorgeous. So even if I blow out right now it's already going to be beautiful
because these colors work amazing together. But I want to have more of distinct turquoise
elements, so here I have some turquoise blue. Adding this color will also help me with cells, and need to add it strategically only in the areas
where I actually want to have those elements. I have a touch of iridescent
color here, iridescent blue-green. The embellishment that I'm
going to do is going to be gold. So I want it to be primarily a focal point, so I
don't want to add a lot of gold into my flow but a couple sections are needed as a reflection of
what's in my embellishment. And I have a couple of brighter pops of color also just to create
some interesting accents and focal points. So this is a golden yellow - very warm yellow and
a little bit of red. I need to warm up this color palette a little bit, so here I have just a mix
of magenta and a couple of different reds. Okay. All right, this should be plenty. Let's blow
it out, and see if we want to add any more. Wow! So this is just the initial shape to get
it moving, and now I'm gonna work more on details. I love this pop of red here,
and a couple of other ones here and there. Fingers swipe always does magic, right?! How it
connects everything that was sort of separated. This color palette is so pretty, it will dry
darker but nevertheless. A couple nice pops of white. This is looking gorgeous. Let's jump to
the next step. This beauty has dried absolutely perfectly, and I'm ready to do the embellishment.
So first of all, I'm gonna apply the tape. I need to do some measurements to make sure
that I'm in the center. So this one should be... This is going to be a bright but pretty
narrow line. I don't want it to be very thick for this one, so it doesn't steal away
from the rest of my beautiful colors. Because if you make it bright and thick - this is all
you're going to be able to see on the painting. Make sure it sits tightly and
there are no air pockets here. So this is going to be the line, and before
I proceed to add in the paint I want to mask out a few sections using this
drawing gum, which is liquid latex. So those sections of my flow that I want
to be in front of my line I need to mask out with this latex, and those that are
going to be behind it - they're fine, I don't need to do anything about
them. So I'm just going to pour some... A little cup here. It does have a very
specific smell but it works amazingly. Be very precise when doing this, make sure
you cover the lines exactly as they are so it looks beautifully 3d like the
flow is wrapping around the line. I'm using a very fine round brush
to follow the edge between the flow and the background, and to cover the
inside I use a little bigger flat brush. See this one's already getting transparent
and this means it's drying. So when it's transparent or almost transparent with a slight
bluish tint to it that means it's ready to go. I'm gonna let it dry for like a half an hour and
we'll be ready for the next step. The latex is dry and you can tell by it becoming transparent
but I usually give it an extra 10-15 minutes even after it's dry just to make sure it's ready for
the next step. So finally, time to embellish and add that line. First of all, I'm gonna add a
layer of Prussian blue, the same one that I used in my base, but at this time just right out
of the tube. So this is not mixed with anything. And just gonna cover this whole area
with a thin layer of Prussian blue. I'm working very carefully because I don't
want to pick up my dry latex layer before I'm completely done with the application.
I see that I actually I'm picking up some small sections, I hope it's fine. And now on
top here, I want to add my gold. Right on top, I'm not waiting for the first layer to dry,
adding quite a generous amount. This one is fluid, so it's mixed the same as the rest of my
colors that I used for the pour. I want to add a couple of drops of turquoise as well, also
a couple magenta accents. I think looks good here. I want this layer to be not very uniform, So there
are a couple of pops of turquoise and magenta, but mainly gold. Finally, this is a
cake scraper but you can buy a special spatula for creating texture.
I want to create a wavy design. This is looking good. It's absolutely perfect here. I think I
might have had a little too much fluid paint in this part. Yeah, I think I'm going to
leave it as is, and I just might paint over it once the paint is dry. Because right
now it's not really working out to fix it. And let's remove that tape and reveal the beauty.
But before we get to it, I have a super exciting announcement to make. My epoxy resin finish
mastery course is now available for pre-sale. So, if you want to learn how to create a beautiful
flawless glass-like finish on your paintings like I do - right now you get a chance to buy it
with a pre-sale offer and save 50$. I will share more information about it at the end of this
video and now let's get back to embellishment. See how that latex just peels right off. Mess
with it, we need to clean this up right away. I made the same mistake on the
other side, right here, see? Oh, my God! This is so cool! Okay, let's see how
it dries and this beauty is going to be ready for the layer of epoxy. Here it is all done and
finished. And, oh boy, this embellishment adds such a cool 3d effect to this painting because the
colors are totally flowing and dancing around it. And I'm so glad that I used not just gold but
a couple more colors because it adds more depth and interest to the center piece. Otherwise,
I think it would look a little too flat. So tell me what do you think? How do you like this
embellishment and the overall outcome? And another question, which way do you like it better? The
landscape the orientation or portrait? Let me know. And this beauty is finished with epoxy resin
for this gorgeous smooth glossy look. And if you also want to learn how to achieve this look on
your paintings - I am thrilled to share some news about my new epoxy resin finish mastery course. It
