every foe that will not tremble on the brink of any earthly woe the last verse says lord give us such a faith as this and then whatever may come will taste even hear the hallowed bliss of an eternal singing this evening we were singing the second to last song and there was a phrase that stuck out to me it said salvation by his blood and a lot of a lot of people nowadays are trying to do away with that phrase they don't like to talk about you know gory things and and uh i've heard it i've heard that it's been said that a lot of people are wanting to do away with that phrase they don't you know the blood's not that important it's disgusting we don't want to talk about it but when we talk about the severity of the blood and what it means for us as christians our redemption was bought with the blood of christ and i'm thankful that he was willing to give his life to shed his blood for us so that not only could we be saved from our sins and have a relationship with god here on earth but that it gives us a hope of one day seeing him in heaven and i'm so thankful for that this evening i'm thankful for the blood of jesus christ we're going to go to the lord in prayer at this time and i'm just going to mention just a few names here on the list let's remember sister mary grabel in prayer as long as i as far as i know it's been a while since she's been here and so i'm sure she would appreciate prayer this evening so sister mary if you are watching we love you we miss you and we are praying for you uh the young man who was here this morning from michigan his name was brian cook his his sister naomi is the one that we've been praying for the young lady of 22 years of age in from michigan who has cancer and he was telling me a little bit about that today how that the doctors are saying basically they're not basically there is nothing they can do for her the only thing they can do is slow down the the process of the cancer that's in her body and he said the only thing that can eradicate the cancer is a miracle of god and he said you know you you hear about people saying oh well back in back in the days when the apostles were on the earth that's when miracles really happened he said i believe god can touch and heal her and i believe that as well so let's be praying for sister naomi cook also be praying for sister becky whitmer sister whitmer if you are watching we are praying for you uh and what you're going through it's good to have sister hilgas with us here this evening thank the lord she's able to be here but to continue to remember her in prayer as well brother cassidy i was talking with his son blake this weekend at a wedding in ohio and he said his father is doing well but he is often in quite some pain so if you would remember brother stephen cassidy in prayer i'm sure they would appreciate that beth crosby's parents specifically her mother be praying for for her then also pam andrew and harper butcher that would be the day's daughter and son-in-law and family and then also we had a request come in for the chanel family they have lost two daughters and a father all within a month's time now when i say the two daughters i i think they're pretty much grown they're in their 40s or 50s um but no matter what the age a loss and a tragedy so please remember the chanel family in prayer and before we go to the lord in prayer i just want to ask if you have a request that you might like to mention before we do so all right okay let's be praying for the day family anyone else all right would you be able to stand for prayer this evening as we go to the lord in prayer brother uh brother russell would you be willing to lead us in prayer this evening and we'll join you as well thank you lord for the avenue of prayer we're glad that it's been open for a long long time and we've never found it with a busy signal thank you we're glad lord that you have bid us to come often and to come boldly before thy throne we do come this evening lord with a much gratitude and praise in our hearts for all that you do for us for the miracles that we have seen lord in our lifetime and even uh in this church lord we're so glad that you're still there for for us and on our behalf and we thank thee lord for those that have confidence lord to ask us as a church to pray for them and we're glad lord that that we accept that challenge lord and we well we feel privileged lord to pray for these that are media because for some lord it is uh as far as human uh technology is concerned lord it's the last uh thing but we know lord that there's no last thing with you and that you are still able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think and it's according to the power that worketh within us the power of the holy spirit and we have a so much confidence in the power of the holy spirit and lord we just pray tonight that thou will come and meet these needs lord and various states uh and various needs but lord even though we may be bothered lord and it may even cause our mind to be foggy just wondering how all this could happen but you're never foggy in your mind lord and you're never surprised and we're just trusting me that that would help us as our faith reaches up to thee tonight and the faith of those lord that we're praying for reaches to the uh that we'll see mighty things done on the candlelight presence up we thank thee lord for uh the privilege of listening to thy preaching word and and that lord the service continues uh and you terry uh uh we anticipate lord hearing from my word tonight and we pray that you would just a bless your servant lord and give him what he needs lord and how to say it for us to receive it up and lord that we may benefit from enough have thy way lord and as a people lord does this church uh uh keep us sweet in our attitudes and humble in our spirit uh and help us lord to reach out for new and great things because of the shed blood of jesus christ that we've been singing september 17th that is this friday at 6 p.m bring desserts uh every friday is a fast and and we're fasting and praying for revival and as they've been saying you don't have to fast food you can fast social media whatever you think whatever you feel like god wants you to give up you can do that and uh just remember to pray for revival uh september 15th uh that's this wednesday at 8 pm after service um pastor forces wanted to meet with everyone who wanted to be baptized so if you're wanting to be baptized make sure you come to that service and meet with him afterwards next sunday is national back to church sunday that's september 19th we're going to have a dinner after the morning service and i was very excited to see that because i love our dinners after service all right september 21st through 23rd there's an ihc in shelbyville at the shelbyville bible holiness church so if you're able to attend go ahead and check that out uh there's the fall youth rally september 24th that's that friday 6 p.m to midnight that's going to be at the flc we're going to start in in this main building here then october 3rd there is a life chain that's at 2 pm and it'll be in westfield and they have the address up there the october 20th the john gleck family is supposed to be here that's a wednesday they're going to be here for the 7 p.m service and finally there's going to be a fall revival october 28th through 31st that's going to be dr bob bullis so just remember that in prayer as we prepare for that if the ushers would please come this is time as john mark was saying it's wonderful to have the hill goss is back in church i'm gonna ask brother hill goss please pray lord we praise you for this opportunity lord to give back to you again but we've uh brought into our lives we pray lord jesus out just keep your hand upon us lord throughout the service i would anoint every single soul here tonight we give you praise for all that you're going to do for what statement why would anyone want to bring a child into this world in which we live and i can see the reasoning and the logic behind it but when you've laid out all of the reasoning you laid out all of the logic we can still come back to this most important foundation that child can face uncertain days because jesus jesus lives jesus is still on the throne amen and he hasn't forsaken his his own singing the song pretty much this the same thing was mentioned in the second verse um so uh i was like god what are you trying to tell me i guess in a sense he's trying to tell me i need to be a better witness so that i may be able to see him in heaven [Music] praying last night about um what we should sing and uh just felt the lord tell us to sing this course no verses we sing this course all the time [Music] but they they spoke to me in a new way and it goes right along with the last song we just sang and um i'm thankful for how god for how good god has been to me in my life and [Music] i want to do my very best to serve him to live for him to do the will of the father and sing with us if if you feel like he's my lord there is no other one [Music] like my lord [Music] there's thankful that when we have nowhere else to turn he's there and um i don't know what you may be going through here this evening or if you're watching through the live stream but i want to assure you of this whatever you're going through whenever you feel like you can't take another step you can run to jesus and he'll meet you i'm thankful he loves us so much [Music] [Music] like my lord [Music] there's he's my lord he's my lord [Music] [Laughter] [Music] storms of like my lord [Applause] [Music] there's no doubt [Music] foreign yes thank the lord for that reality and that truth thank you gentlemen for the beautiful song this evening god is good is every heart clear does anyone have a praise um amen amen i am too yes amen amen yes filling my mind because my heart has been blessed in several different ways um this evening but this song the solid rock that song was um i was saying on my life that there was a time when i was going through a really dark time and i felt very alone and i remember we sang that song here that earth when darkness seems behind his face i rest in his unchanging grace and i remember those words stuck out to me because i thought you know satan's been telling me you're all alone you're the only one going through this and i thought well at least it's me the songwriter i'm not the only one somebody else just went through this and i'm so thankful it's crazy that i'm not alone for one thing i'm not alone his grace is in the darkest of times and that's all because he loves oh i'll be honest i have a lot of anxiety sometimes i can face tomorrow and all of you is gone i was just i just was so blessed with that tonight that because he lives like in face tomorrow i have no idea what i wanted to hold but um and honestly raising children during this time should be terrifying because you know the other day you know i don't i don't want to mess it up i want my kids to make it and i know that i just have to keep resting in the lord and trusting him for his guidance and such but um i'm just so thankful that i don't have to go about this alone that jesus is walking with me daniel's guiding us in our home and i'm just so thankful that we can trust god with whatever he comes our way he's gonna give us the grace and amen amen songs can really say a lot and i don't think we could have picked a better group of songs that were played [Music] i'm sure we all have fears and doubts of the things happening in our country and in our world of course we feel more for our kids and grandkids but the song uh a holding a baby i never was once from little babies until i had my home and you learned fast on the whole woman and welcome and it is a precious thing and uh but yet we can know that he holds that little one and that we have hope in him no matter what and he's so encouraging in songs like that [Music] um even though we don't have the answers god has the answers and i was having some certain questions and i was talking to you about it and he said even though i don't have all the answers the rest of the people that you trust don't have the answers god has all the answers and i'm glad that i can trust him i will trust him and i'm glad that he has the answers that i need amen amen thank the lord tonight for what he's done for me through my life i thank him for it i praise him for it and i want to give him the glory for he i can't believe how he's he's helped me through the days and uh days of all the days of my life i and for life itself i just want to thank and praise him for us tonight for his goodness and his mercies and that he does love each and every one of us i i need to tell two things if it works out i don't know if it will even coincide but i just want god to get glory tonight whenever um i was on the playground this week with some of the students there was a student that came up to me that attends church here and this little student was talking about some things that made him scared and some things that were disappointing him or different things or that had disappointed him but he says but remember when things are sad god is still good god is always good and he was referring to vacation bible school and then he just talked about how god had worked something good out after something had disappointed him so much then something really special worked out for him so it was like god said see this is how this can work and i was so happy that the lord was speaking to this little child and that god cares about their souls and he wants to help them through life so we encourage young parents god cares about your child and he wants to watch over them he wants to help them through life just as he helps us day by day on the way home from church today an incident happened that really surprised our family and i want to give god glory he just used us in a special way but he would have used anyone else too so we just happened to be at the right time but we were on our way home and on is that 32 out here i'm not very good at numbers okay that's 32 highways on that highway um we happened to look on a side road and there was a cute little girl just running down the hill and no adult mirror at all she was just running along happily and carefree a smile on her face she was oblivious to any danger that lied ahead and she just kept on coming and we couldn't see the adult anywhere and so we stopped car and nate and i went to get her he was there to stop other traffic if need be thankfully on our side of the road traffic had stopped and on the other side though traffic was not stopping and it was pretty scary because she was just going along merrily not knowing that there was any danger in her life and she could not be seen because of the other vehicles and stuff it was scary but she i just hollered at her and she just looked at me and smiled so happily and i ran toward her and i caught her up and i was thankful that she was safe she didn't know that there was any danger at all she trusted me implicitly i just took her i turned and at that point i saw someone way far away running down the hill so i knew that was probably a guardian over her and there were two other people watching from a home up there and i was able to give that little girl back to her papa i really don't know the relation but he was in shock he could tell that he just he had no clue that that could even happen children are fast we all know that and so um i praise the lord that he was watching over that little girl and orchestrating everything making everything work out at the right time in the right way he cares about her and her life he cares about that family he cares about you he cares about me and he's orchestrating our lives in every area and he can get glory from it so i just want to be obedient to him i want him to have his way with me and i really wish i could trust god like that little girl was trusting and carefree she didn't know the dangers i know so many things that could happen and so i worry but she had not care in the world and she was totally trusting and we sang a song about it about faith and things and then um just the different things were speaking to me tonight like i wish i could trust jesus more that's my desire because he does care about me and he's watching me and he wants me to let him be lord and savior if i could just trust him more then i think everything would go out smoothly i just want to praise him i love him with all my heart and i want to glorify him i always like to apologize from last sunday i mean my wife should have been here but great depression came up i couldn't face anybody i told the lord i'm sorry i want to be a faithful christian and faithful to church faithful prayer meeting people [Music] skeeters were fighting but i was talking to them we got through to them you don't see the stars in this in the daytime and sun's out but they're still there god told me he was still there for me that was how he was that he was thank you i pray you remember me are my my boys too that goes to court a lot of stuff he's in trouble before he's known to himself he does make his own choices but i thank god he's still alive and still has a chance to make it i love the lord i want to do it [Music] [Applause] [Music] i remember one day at the house it was so dark i couldn't feel the thing [Music] i will make a good candidate because i love you with all my heart and he helped me see through the darkness at that moment the devil is a liar he is a liar he tries to tell us so many things and i love him with all my heart i tell you what it doesn't matter what i go through things are settled in my soul but i'm going through i'm gonna fake it i love him with all my heart i know the day that he saved me from sin that he sanctified me holy and then he keeps me as he's real and then he's my god and he's my savior and he doesn't leave his children in the darkness he just doesn't do that he walks through the darkest valley with and amen do not want to cut anyone off if you have something that's on your heart appreciate the testimonies god's faithfulness his goodness to us he deserves the praise and we're here together this evening to worship him together in whatever way he chooses my prayer is this that god would have control of every service no matter what service god would have control that he would lead and direct we can have a program we can have an outline an order of service but it's all subject to the leading in the direction of the holy spirit i'm asking if every heart is clear i'm going to ask brother and sister andrew dollar to come forward along with the grandparents and those that are participating gonna be a part of the dedication this evening asking my wife to come as well as a minister there are a lot of joys yes there are heartaches there are times when you weep and you cry but there's a lot of joyful times one of those joyful times is when a sinner comes to know the lord as their lord and savior and one of the joyful times is this time here we're about to do right this evening is dedicating children to the lord the psalmist in 127th psalm verse 3 says hello children our heritage of the lord and the fruit of his womb the fruit of the womb is his reward in luke chapter 18 verse 16 it says jesus called them unto him and said suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of god brother drew and sister kristen this is not your first baby dedication it's your third three handsome young men that god has blessed you with as we have gathered here this evening for this dedication it is a joyful occasion that brings us together as i already mentioned and brother and sister kristen as mary and hand of old you have brought your children to the house of god or your child to present western paul dowler to the lord you've heard the words of the master when he said suffer little children that come unto me and forbid them not which is what we've already read here this evening this precious little boy who you hold in your arms sister kristen is both a mystery and a wonder and god has placed in both of your hearts a compelling message of the dignity of life and the obligation of parenthood therefore we are confident of his divine approval as this child this precious little boy is brought this day to be dedicated to god and his service it is a duty of the noblesville pilgrim holiness church as a christian congregation to receive west and paul into the care of the church and to minister to his welfare in every way possible i would like for us to listen to the words of the lord this evening in jeremiah 1 5 where it says before i formed you in the womb i knew you and before you were born i consecrated you god had a plan before he was ever a twinkle in your guys's eyes god has a plan and a purpose for weston he wants to use him i also love the words of the psalmist 139 psalm verse 13 he says for you formed my inward parts you knitted me together my mother's womb i praise you for i am fearfully and wonderfully made my frame was not hidden from you when i was being made in secret and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth your eyes saw my unformed substance and your book were written every one of them the days that were formed for me when as yet there was none of them as i've already stated god has a plan for this child's life but it is your duty to follow the words that we read in proverbs 22 6. it is your duty brother drew instead christian to train him in the way that he should go when he is old that he will not depart from it well the jewish sister christian as i said god has a purpose for weston's life and to find that purpose and to live it out fully will mean blessing but to refuse or to ignore it will mean heartbreak it is your privilege and duty to guide your child your children in such a way as to make the will of god the greatest ambition of their life you stop and think about that that is a very powerful thought not my thought one that i have copied but it's a powerful thought the greatest ambition of life is not for the things of this life or this world the world success of in the world's eyes but it's to know jesus christ as his personal lord and savior do you understand to this assignment you are called to dedicate yourselves today it is to this end you dedicate your child to god in accordance with the purpose for which you have come will you please now respond to the following covenant do you dedicate yourselves as parents to bring up your child in the nurture and admonition of the lord if so please answer we do do you promise to instruct him in the bible and in the practice of prayer to guide him in the development of a christ-like character and to diligently bring him to the services of the church where he will be taught the way of life if so please answer we do do you promise to try to the best of your ability so to shape the home life of your children by family devotions by your words and your example that they will and to proper age most naturally come to an open confession of christ thus propagating by a living faith that spiritual life that obtained in and through jesus christ thereby coming into the fellowship and service of the church if so please answer we do hold this hi weston how are you can you believe he's younger my granddaughter he's almost twice the size of her you don't have small boys [Laughter] weston paul dowler i your pastor dedicate thee to god into the service of his kingdom in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit amen in recognition the dedication of your child i present to you the parents this new testament inscribed with your child's name from its pages not for say this exact one but from the pages of god's word raise and instruct him in the way of the lord and then there is a certificate for you mr weston that's more colorful in recognition of the dedication of your child as i stated we give you the new testament and from his pages instruct him and at this time i like for the congregation to stand as we have reverend dallard pray the prayer of dedication over his grandson and i want to say here this evening that this is something that is very sobering and serious to us as a congregation every one of these little children in this church we need to make sure that we're praying for them and that we're setting an example for them and that we're holding them up before the throne of grace that god would direct and lead in their lives i pray for every one of your children like they're one of my children or one of my grandchildren i love each and every one of them and i want to challenge us as a church let's be faithful to pray for these precious children that god would direct their lives brother dollar if you want to pray the prayer of dedication father on this september 9th dedicated as grandparents tonight what an honor is for us to be here in this sanctuary on this occasion our mind goes back almost 60 years as a broken boy from a broken home and in the course of time by your grace you brought us to an altar can you save us we prayed for a happy home in your providence you let us go to bible school where we've been praying for a girl we hadn't met yet and again in your providence you allow the northern boy to meet a southern girl and in time we started our family we began to pray for children that hadn't yet entered our home but one by one through the years you've graced us with three children and tonight we get to stand here try this church with our baby boy with his baby boy [Music] [Music] but what a privilege it is tonight to be here in this dedication we try not to let a day go by but what we bring our children and our grandchildren to the throne room of god we don't know what the future holds but we do know that you hold the future lord tonight in this dedication we come with a confidence that you've built in us through these years that god is faithful and you will be faithful to those who are faithful and so tonight we make a recommitment that as a husband as a dad as a grandad that we'll be faithful to god and to the commitments that we've made we pray for drew and for kristin these brothers we pray for his grandparents wishes and others that are involved this church family we've been thankful we've been thankful to be a part of this church and we know that that they'll be faithful in their responsibilities and it leaves us with a tremendous measure of confidence that they're in good hands the lord it's only as we follow your will and your plan and so this dedication is taken seriously and so we do dedicate little westin to the service of god and whatever you have for him whether he'll be whether he'll be driver of a dump truck or whether he'll be a preacher of the gospel we commit them to your hands and we only ask lord that is our constant prayer is just get us to heaven you understand heaven so there will be an unbroken family [Music] we thank you for this privilege and for this opportunity and we pray it all in the name of jesus is right amen amen west and more christ i mean it when i say it is a great joy to dedicate a child i don't know what all people may think but we never know what god has planned for that child i'll never forget we were contacted by a funeral home not long after we had come here of a lady that wanted to have a funeral for her son that had no connection to this church whatsoever to my knowledge at least she said she didn't and so in talking with the funeral home down the street we agreed we would do the funeral for them and as a matter of fact if they would like to have it in the church they can come and have it here at our church the mother of the son that passed away was ecstatic because she had some kind of religious background and she was very grateful that we would consent to do that and so they came and his girlfriend was living and had their little boy at the close of that funeral service she said can i have my baby dedicated i've never experienced that and i said absolutely and i dedicated that child to god and i promise you this the mother did not look like anyone that's here in any way shape or form but i dedicated that child to god and i said lord you know the plans you have for that child and i don't know where he's at today but i know that god knows and there was a mother that said dedicate my child and however that child's being raised i couldn't tell you but i do know this that i prayed over that child and i prayed that god would somehow get into his life somehow and use him mightily and i want us to take just a second if you would and look around the congregation of the children of this congregation this church both the young people you have no idea what god has in store for them and so what i want to say to every one of us this evening let's be patient let's be loving right let's be kind let's give the benefit of the doubt let's go the extra mile oh i'm not talking about compromising against sin and not taking a stand where stand needs to be taken but let's not forget we once too was a child but god put people in our life that showed us christ and so let god use you to show christ to these children there's nothing that i would say be greater than for a child to say i want to be like them when i get saved that speaks volumes lord help us i want to look at some scripture here this evening i feel this may be our last of the 119th psalm it has been good we have not made our way all the way through the 119th psalm but we've looked at portions of it i believe we've looked at 13 14 different portions of this psalm unless the lord directs otherwise this will probably be the closing of looking at it but i would encourage you take time to read that psalm it is 176 verses it is the longest passage of scripture in the bible it is not chapter it is a psalm psalms are not chapters they're psalms but if you classify it as a chapter it would be the longest chapter of the bible but it's packed full full of truth you see a passion you see a hunger you see a longing you see a desire of the psalmist to please god to obey him to follow him for him to direct his steps in church we have to get to that place where we've given our all to god we've put it all on the altar we've given it all to him and he's in control of all of our life if you have if you'll take your bible and turn to the 119th psalm verse 89. and if you're able would you stand with me for the reading of god's word psalm 119 verse 89 forever o lord thy word is settled in heaven forever o lord thy word is settled in heaven the faithfulness or thy faithfulness is unto all generations thou has established the earth and it abideth continue this day according to thy ordinances for all are thy servants unless thy law had been mighty alliance i should have perished in my affliction i will never forget thy precepts for with them thou hast quickened me thou has made me alive i am thine save me for i have sought thy precepts the wicked have waited for me to destroy me but i will consider thy testimonies i have seen an end of all of perfection but thy commandment is exceeding broad father in heaven as we come before your throne of grace once again this evening we ask for your anointing for your unction for your direction for your discernment we pray father over the next little while as we look at your word that our hearts father in heaven would be drawn closer to you and that we would go forth from this place not the same as we came in we would go forth filed in heaven with a renewed a new purpose a renewed determination found in heaven with the joy of the lord in our soul and that you came and met with us in the songs and the testimonies in the prayer time and we ask you o god to continue to be with us as we look at your word for it's in your holy name we pray amen you may be seated there was an expression that i remember as a young boy as a teenager expression or statement whatever you want to call it that i would recall individuals making a statement and it was this you can take it to the bank you can take it to the bank the definition of what that means is basically this i i absolutely guarantee this this evening is kind of hard for any of us to be able to absolutely guarantee something i have guaranteed my children when they were youngsters that we'd go on a vacation we're going we're going to be leaving on friday we're headed down to grampian grandmas i promise you and unfortunately there were some times when that guarantee that promise was broken did we wind up going yes but it was not when we said we was going to go and this evening some things we can maybe guarantee that i guarantee you that i'll give you a hug or kiss honey or to our children that i love you but in life there's a lot of things that the world will try to promise you and guarantee you that it cannot deliver on but i want us to remember this evening if there is anything if there's anything that can be guaranteed it's god guaranteeing you guaranteeing it to you this evening i would like for you if you would for a moment think about your favorite scripture sister whitaker testified this evening of how god has been with her and reminded her that he's been with her brother price talked about god revealing to him at night when he looks up into the sky and sees all of the stars that in the daytime even though you cannot see those stars those stars are still there and then in life there'll be times when you may not be able to see and you may not be able to feel that god is there but he's there he hasn't left you he hasn't abandoned you and this evening if we would take the time to go around the room and everyone to share their favorite verse of scripture and probably the majority of those of us this evening that would share a favorite verse of scripture would be a verse of scripture that god gave us in a difficult time when we were going through a storm when we were facing some affliction when we were facing some uncertainties when things in our life was pretty low god came in and gave us a promise from his word a promise that we've taken and applied it to ourselves and adapted it as our promise from god and we've taken courage in that and we've rose up with new determination new strength new energy new vigor we've been refreshed as jonathan who dipped his staff in the honey and partook of it in the battle there's been an enlightenment there's been a strength a new strength given to us a refreshing to our soul and to our mind that the promise that god gave to us through his word and i'd like for each of us this evening to think about that verse of scripture that god has given to you pastor john mark this evening as he was singing read a verse of scripture of isaiah 40 40 i believe it was 41. how it talks there that god says i'll be with you i won't leave you and this evening i'm bound to go down through some verses of scripture and i want you to as i read these verses of scripture to remember the verse that is your favorite that god has given to you as a promise the passage that we've read here this evening the psalmist begins this section of the psalm and he says forever o lord thy word is settled in heaven the word rendered settle there means properly to set to put in place to place and then to stand to cause to stand to set up as a column as an altar as a monument the meaning here is that the word the law the promise of god was made firm established stable in heaven and would be so forever and ever what god had ordained as law would always remain law what he had affirmed would always remain true and what he had promised would surely would be sure forever friends this evening what god has promised in his word not to be irreverent but as the statement is made the saying you can take it to the bank you can guarantee that it'll come to pass that he will be with you he will never leave you and or forsake you his eye is upon you and my friends as the psalmist said your name is engraved in his in the palm of his hand he cares about us i think of sister russell's testimony and of her prayer and she called me and she said brother four see god has touched me and she said if i have to crawl down that aisle i'm gonna come to church this morning without the cane and she came and she didn't crawl down the aisle she walked down the aisle and i reminded our sister i said god heard and answered your prayer whether it's only for one service one day one week one month one year or 100 years god answered your prayer don't ever let the enemy come back to you and try to defeat you and saying you claim that god healed you and look you're you're no better this is back this is taking place friends if it's only for one hour god touched you give him glory and honor and praise he says his word is established his word is settled his word is firm it's true it's settled in heaven what he says he will do if you were to move over to the 152nd verse you'd read these words concerning thine testimonies i have known of all that thou hast founded them forever what did he say in the 89th verse forever o lord thy word is settled in heaven thy testimonies thou hast founded them forever from eternity to eternity they were laid in eternity pass and they will continue in eternity to come what god has declared in eternity pass will also be in eternity to come they are based on eternal principles of right they will never be changed such a conviction will do much to keep the soul steady and firm in the trials of uncertainty of life whatever may change god's law does not change his word does not change church whatever is new that is not new whatever will vanish away that will remain my friends i i when i read this my heart just leaped inside was joy you know so much of the time i i hear this and and i'm sorry if someone here has made the comment to me i don't remember it okay so i'm not addressing anyone here but i've heard so much of the time in the past individuals saying well we're living in a different time in a different culture in a different area and so things don't apply friends right here in god's word it says it's established it's founded forever forever forever forever forever it doesn't change it doesn't matter what happens in our world today what new thing may take place or required god's word isn't changed it's the same yesterday today and forever oh what joy should be flooding our hearts at that thought of that realization it doesn't matter friends what the world may be doing or trying to promote god's word is still god's word it was founded in eternity past and it will remain to eternity to come it's his word it's rooted it's grounded it's founded in heaven and it will be forever it will not change no matter what takes place no matter what new ideas someone tries to present to you it will not change it is it is founded by him if you use a move down to verse 160 it says thy word is true from the beginning and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth forever that word endure is in italicized it means that it was put in there by king james it's not of the original so how that verse should be read as thy word is true from the beginning and every one of thy righteous judgments forever well glory hallelujah god's judgments are righteous church he makes no mistakes he's the one who's in control he's the one who's in charge this evening may the lord help us in other words what he's saying for the true from the beginning from genesis 1 1 with the word in to revelation 22 21 with the word amen every word is true every word is established every word is faithful every word is right every word by friends has been settled and put into heaven it comes from our god and will take place as he said isaiah 40 verse 8 says the grass withereth the flower fadeth but the word of our god shall stand forever hallelujah it doesn't matter what the news media tries to tell you it doesn't matter what a president may try to say or a king or a queen or some senator or some congressman or some prestigious individual my friends god's word will stand forever it doesn't matter how they may try to silence the church it doesn't matter how they may put laws in the place and try to persecute the children of god his word will stand forever he will have a people just think about it when elijah we talked about a week or two ago twitter said i'm the only one left what did god say i have seven thousand that have not bailed thee to baal my friends god will always have his people in this world until he comes and takes us out of this world there will be his people his word my friends standeth forever in general it means that all his promises shall be firm and unchanging even though everything else may change and pass away but not god's word he says as he as the flower fails the grass withereth and the flower fadeth the word of god will not hallelujah it will remain steadfast it will remain firm it is not something that will be removed and plucked out and cast away or die and fade away as i was looking at one of my commentaries in there the uh the uh yesterday and running down through it i was looking at some of the words in that book to have faded and there's some of the letters you can't even make them out what they are and i had to look at them real close and and trying to figure what was that word there what was being said my friends god's word doesn't fade it'll never fade it'll never go away it's rooted it's grounded because why because he said it is and it's a rooted grounded in him it shall not only live amidst the changes of dynasties it shall not only live amidst the changes of revolutions and of empires but it shall continue forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever hallelujah well brother foreign was the old testament way of glory hallelujah for the old testament and the promises of god's word in the old testament so let's go to the new testament and see in matthew 5 18 jesus speaks he says for verily i say unto you till heaven and earth pass away one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled in other words the eesb reads like this not an iota nor a dot will pass from the law until all is accomplished well hallelujah praise the lord glory to god do you believe that this evening my friends if we believe that this evening we should never be living in fear and doubt in despair if we remember what god's word says that it is established it's standard forever we should never be afraid of the rattling of the sabers and the rattling of the teeth of the mouth of those who want to vent poison and try to spill the fear and despair to us we should remember that god is on the throne and he's in control matthew 24 35 jesus also says heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away you may sooner expect to see heaven and earth pass away and return to nothing than for his words to fail first peter 1 25 but the word of the lord endureth forever have you noticed that in all of these verses it says it's going to remain forever it's not going to pass away these things will pass away before my word passes away peter reminds us in chapter 1 verse 25 but the word of the lord endureth forever and this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you what is peter saying is that um it is unmovable it's fixed it's permanent it's not like some rock that many individuals will tell you it never can be moved it's going to remain there forever and along comes an earthquake that god allows to take place in this world and all of a sudden something that had never been moved they say for billions of years according to scientists it had been there been there and been there and been there and been there there's face storms it's faced all kinds of things and god says well mr scientists i'm gonna show you who's in control along comes one of his earthquakes and all of a sudden that thing is shaken friends there's no earthquake that's gonna shake god's word it's fixed it's permanent it's established i want to say here this evening also the word of god its beauty never fades and its power is never diminished church our god reigns our god's in control our father our lord our savior our redeemer our king is in control he reigns and i want you this evening to do what i asked you to do at the beginning think about your favorite verse think about that passage that verse or whatever it is that's your favorite that it was given to you in the midst of adversity in the midst of affliction in the midst of persecution in the midst of tribulation in the midst of whatever when god gave it to you and then i want you to remember the verses that we've read here this evening my word abideth forever as the psalmist said thy word is established in heaven it's settled there's no debate hallelujah it's it's going to take place it's going to happen our god reigns rejoice church for our god is alive and you can be guaranteed that what he said he will do john 14 3 says and if i go and prepare a place for you i will come again and receive you unto myself to where i am there you may be also church jesus is coming back someday he's coming back i don't know if i finished this morning when i gave the illustration about talking to some individual about dying we were discussing this and he said you know i i want to go heaven i i don't want to go right now i want to live life i got a lot of things i want to do and i said i understand what you're saying i said but i'm want to tell you you can be at a place in life that even though you want to live and you want to see things happen that if god says today's a day you're ready to go and church i want to remind you jesus christ is coming back someday are we looking for that day are we anticipating that day it's not it's not some uh fable some fairy tale some fictional story jesus said i will return i will come back and it's a promise that he's given to us and i love the verses of scripture in the book of revelation 22 7 says behold i come quickly he's coming from foreign years since jesus went to heaven over our glory hallelujah we're 2 000 years closer to his return and i want to tell you something we need to take heed because if the early church was so looking forward to his return so much of paul had to say guys you need to get back to life living life you plan that he's going to come any day but live like he's going to coming day but you need a plan you're going to live a lot longer than just one day if they were living like that how much more should we be living like that right amen i'm afraid so many individuals are living like jesus is not going to come back forever or for thousands of years that they have a lot of time in church none of us know how much time we have left none of us are we ready he says behold i come quick me come quickly blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book revelation 22 12 and behold i come quickly and my reward is with me to give to every man according as his work shall be are you keeping the faith are you fighting a good fight are you finishing the course that he's called you to run are you going to be worthy to receive the crown he said i'm coming back i'm coming quickly and my reward is with me to give to every man church the last verse the last promise we have in revelation 22 20 he would say testify these things saith surely i come quickly amen even so come lord jesus come lord jesus church the promise that god has given to you is not something of a figment of your imagination it's a promise that came from the king of glory that came from the throne room of heaven it's a promise that before you ever thought that you was going to be a thought in any thought of any anybody's other thought it was already established in eternity hallelujah god knew oh what c.u was going to be writing and what storm was going to rise up and you were going to be facing and he said my word my word will abide god will keep his promises i've asked brother whittaker to come and lead us in a closing course this evening let's stand together if you're able as hey as uh brother stewardiger come and lead us in a closing course here this evening but i want us to take courage this evening take courage rejoice his word abide us it standeth you can trust it it's established it's what established the stars in space the sun and the moon it's what causes our earth to turn it's what gives us all the things that we have around about us gravity that holds us here this world is spinning literally and figuratively god is in control he's established everything brother whitaker take your hymn books and turn to 268 let's sing this little course song our god reigns forget this coming sunday national back to church sunday invite someone bring them to church with you we're having dinner afterwards i would love to see us have 240 people here sunday amen we could very easily do you realize when everybody's feeling healthy and they're all back from vacation we are over 220 some people on a sunday morning so we should easily be able to bring in an extra 20 people to make over 240 right wouldn't you love to see that back there a couple of you would the rest you're thinking oh no they might sit in my spot will the lord help you it's more cushion up here in the front right brother russell yeah they're going to get yours right all right don't forget nashville back to church sunny this coming sunday going to have dinner here on the grounds after the serve the morning service so invite someone bring them with you and then wednesday evening i'm going to be talking about baptism those of you that were wanting to be baptized that met with me up here last wednesday evening and we're looking for that i said we were going to meet back there during the service on wednesday but i feel like i'm going to go ahead and just talk about what i was going to
