Subtitle Edit Version 4 is Ready for Testing - What's New Purfviews Faster Whisper, New Theme

hi everyone my name is David and there's a new version of subtitle edit version 4 and this is out for testing for bugs so please do test it out and Report any bugs that you see uh so that it can be fixed before the official version is released now uh so here is the uh like notification on GitHub I'll leave it below in the description and the main thing uh in this release is probably new themes and uh we've all seen it if you've not seen it I'm going to show you how the new theme looks like we've got some new icons uh even a new uh gfx for the video player uh which looks really good and then we've got a new tool to beautify time code suggested from this person and you can also see like uh when this was suggested what has going into the work and and so on and so forth and this tool you can beautify your time codes according to short changes it's very flexible and then we've got a new whisper uh engine from PA view uh it's it's really awesome and it has an inogram download and checks for Cuda support which is really awesome so also a thanks to all the contributors if you comment kind of try and make this thing a little bit much better so please test and do let Nix and the whole team right here that contributes know if there's any bugs and as you can see from this uh there is a duck theme there is beyy codes profile wepy sub title edit using PA View's a faster whisper and then we've got a couple of things and obviously path view has mentioned when do you plan to release a stable uh version because fter whisper may need a fix so in one or two weeks so uh the are people who are making uh comments here so uh like this one there's a bug where the new UI for uh the video player does not come out well but this has been fixed I'm almost sure because I've seen it somewhere here uh but the point is is Let's test it out and see what's available and also if I look at the change log of what is coming a new toolbar or video player themes beauy time codes added PA views faster whisper use native styles for web vtt add video format progress for Generate video with banding sub allow setting profile from CMD Assa set layer allow OCR uh of XML stroke PNG add more remove formatting options add new shortcuts but one of the few things that has been improved that is really really awesome uh is to do I believe should be something to do with the burning option let's see here updated burning video preview this is really really awesome now let's see uh that version I've actually downloaded it and if you're somewhere here from the releases you can just click on this link uh the beta uh it takes you to the same position uh as what you'll see commented here uh because it's the latest beta version for you to test it out so let's go to my extracted version just double click on it uh let's see about it's uh beta version 780 uh the one that I'm testing with it's not yet rolled over to 4.0 uh because uh they still waiting for the test for the official version to be released now uh let's just do some normal uh settings download the MPV lib that is the player that supports uh viewing subtitles inside the video player which is really awesome for positioning and all that and then we have some few things that will be added here once we do that so we've got all these new outlines and whatnot so that's done click okay let me say I go to open up a video just get a video and then click on this so the new video players here then new icons here uh the UI looks good and then we've got the audio to text via visper let's download FFM Peg uh so that we can actually test out uh the puff View and see uh if it works as it should be uh hopefully it does that's 100% okay let's download puus faster whisper that's okay uh puus faster Wisper is a little bit bigger than wispa CPP or wispa con uh conp uh that's the GPU powered uh kind of whisper it's uh got that and then once we do this uh if you come here you can download uh the motel let's download uh 142 MB version uh and I'm sure that it's going to uh look for some drivers as we've seen uh in uh the right up here it's going to be looking for Cuda drivers let's see see so it's going to check for Cuda support let's see where we at we at uh 89 90 okay let's let it finish it's done it's doing uh all the the magic behind there let's see if there's anything there's nothing in the background let's see if we try to generate if you're going to get that prompt uh or if it's going to have been uh included by default so faster with spaka GPU seems to be missing okay download yes this is a little bit big and depending on your internet connection may take a long or a short time so please bear with it uh I'm assuming it's a file that's almost about 500 or 600 MB in size so this takes a little bit longer before it's downloaded uh into uh subtitle edit and it's really awesome because uh back then people are having to put in uh these uh Libs uh download and I kind of transfer from one folder to the other so they can actually be installed and for PA views faster whpa to work so it's a bigger file than what uh we've been working with in like whspa CPP and uh con uh conme so uh you may need to give it some time to download uh and once it's done it's going to be able to generate uh audio or convert audio to text for us or audio to subtitles in this case so let's give it a couple of seconds and then we'll be back now we almost done downloading Puff views F whisper Cuda and there we go it's 100% let's give it a couple of seconds and then uh we'll see what we get uh once this is done saying please wait it's at 100% uh and there it's done now let's go back to video audio to text and then with this selected just click on General generate and let's see if you're actually going to get a subtitle from this uh faster whisper uh and it seems you're getting something there we go yeah it's done so it's really awesome it's fast in this tutorial I'll show you how to add text behind a person or moving object in Camtasia 2023 used in the background now it looks good uh we can also do the rest for the others I don't want to make any changes let's go for const me let's download this uh because this is much faster we may need to download the model for this as well because it's different from PA views faster whisper uh because con me uh and whp CPP share uh the models so I prefer to go with the base uh for test purposes uh because it's a little bit small uh we download fast and these are based on the gml models I believe these are the hugging face models uh so that's done let's download CPP as well and this is extremely fast and because it uses the same models as uh uh conme that's okay now as you can see there is open AI puff views faster whisper conme CPP C translate whpx it really depends on what really works best for you something else you'll notice is that we've got the advanced options here you can now input extra parameters here uh for example if you're using CPP in this case we're using CPP there are a couple of commands you can in input right here depending on what you want diar whatever uh split on word rather than on token so it's it's really really awesome that we can now have all this inside here conme has these uh commands that you can uh actually use open AI faster whisper you can see all the different commands that you can actually input here and you can just come and copy and just copy and then you paste it right here as a command uh so that you can actually uh get the result that you want so that's really awesome uh to see uh and then let's assume you want to burn in uh generate video with bur in subtitles now one of the few issues that I've always had is we had a preview button here but it is awesome right now that we can have uh these particular options so you can set like phone number size 70 and it changes in real time if I actually click on these buttons you'll see the phone size change in real time so it can help you uh evaluate if the phone size you're using is good the font family as you run through them uh let's say we go to something like aerial let's go to a aial so if you actually now start going down you can see how the fonts change how they look like and so on and so forth but let's stick to aial uh that looks good and now you can also maximize this to see how it's going to look like and then you can minimize goes back there you can change the Box color here you can also change the text color depending on what you want but it's really awesome that we can now have all these controls right inside here you can still play this this tutorial I'll show you how to to see add text behind a person one how everything is going to look like depending on the way you want your subtitles to look once you B you've baned them to the video These are highly highly appreciated Edition to subtitle edit uh I think that's just a run through just all these and then there's the beyy I believe it should be somewhere tools uh edit let me see there's the option to beyy or something No it should be somewhere somewhere here I think yes beautify time codes click on this this uh download FF probe okay yes let's see and as much as I'm not going to Showcase how this works for now uh let's see so time codes us SF probe to extract time codes snapq okay extract time codes um so what happens next oh they couple of uh options and profiles okay that looks good uh simple mode you can see the different options here without all this advanced mode but anyway uh there is the option to beautify time codes uh if that's something that you're into but this is uh the beta version 780 which is more or less subtitle edit version 4 release so kindly test it out download and test it out uh install the different options available path view test it out if if it works on your end and if you feel there is a bug uh you can create a new issue or just come and comment on this particular thread I'll leave it uh somewhere in the description of this video uh so that you can actually see what's uh going on and then I'll also leave the what's new or the update update change log uh in uh the description as well
