Cool video. Kinda weird though that they start off focusing on Charleston and then go to a bunch of places that aren't on Charleston. :D
"We took a drive to the far west end of Charleston BLVD to visit the Alien Cathouse" From my knowledge this is about 80 miles North off of Hwy 95.
I get that she's a foreigner, but it's still disturbing to hear her pronounce Nevada wrong so many times.
"If you stay on Charleston Blvd long enough and drive all the way out of town and out into the desert, the law changes to offer brothel prostitution."
While this Vice special was good, I think it was inane that they tied everything to Charleston - even if it was 100 miles away from Charleston.
How many people will watch this video and end up at Blue Diamond looking for a brothel?
Charleston happens to be one of the two entrances to the Red Rock Conservation Area and they didn't bother to mention it. Instead they talked about some brothel I heard about ONCE.
Oh wow my old history teacher is in this. I loved his class, you can tell he really loves what he does.
Being a vice doc I figured it'd be a bit more gritty and show the shittier side of "charleston blvd" but they at least touched on the housing market crash and gambling addiction. Still a good watch that shows some of the facts and truths of our city.
"We took a detour to the far west end of Charleston boulevard where you can find such establishments as the Alien Cathouse..." LOL, what?
The "far west end of Charleston boulevard" is just outside of Summerlin where it crosses the road that goes to the shooting range. After you cross the shooting range road, SR-159 is no longer called "Charleston Blvd", it's called Blue Diamond Rd or Red Rock Canyon Rd.
